I realize this is just snide bait but lets bite anyway...
That doesn't make it more exciting, its survival horror not x-men. Survivors should be vulnerable in the endgame.
There are plenty of marvel themed games where the heroes always win and nothing surprising ever happens.
Who would watch a horror film where the antagonist is in no way threatening? DBD is basically recreating that setting. It baffles me that people want survivor to be uber godlike or even equal to the killer 1v1. Survivors are already at their best position during the egc because their objective is complete.
Also what you suggest already basically exists its called adrenalin.
The dumbest thing I've ever read on these forums is someone saying "they never feel safe as survivor" but its survival horror you're not meant to feel safe. The whole premise of the game is this isn't safe you need to get out before you get killed.
Why do you play this game if not for the theme of it?
If you want a watered down party game experience where all's friendly, equal and no one ever dies, play Fall Guys... its great I play a lot of it but its not DBD. Why people want to turn DBD into Fall Guys baffles me.
And that’s why are so many killers here complaining. This is a video game, not a place where people who need to feel powerful against others come to kill them

Most of the arguments against NOED are just salty players who didn't account for it and expected to escape.
NOED is great because it makes the endgame exciting. When survivors are at their strongest and are almost assured to escape, gates are 99'd or open there is this last threatening hurdle to face that makes the end game high stakes.
Its a great perk for that reason. Without the threat of death why are people even trying to escape in the first place, NOED is both mechanically and thematically great. Its the grand finale.
The other argument I see a lot is you have to account for it whether the killer has it or not but there are heaps of perks like that on both sides. I'm never surprised by NOED because I expect it just as I'm never surprised by DS, UB, DH because I expect those things to be in play.
I'm often more surprised when people don't have them rather than do.
If they nerf NOED it'll just be another nail in the coffin of this game's excitement.
Well, create a perk for survs to make egc more exciting. Something with a speed boost and you have to hit them 3 times to put them in dying state
-
Less stressful means easier? Because if you don’t need 4k eveygame and play to have fun the game is not stressful

A strategy that only works because the survivors are choosing to be lazy and not remove your totems. It's entirely within their power to deny you the perk at all.
well, we see when devs nerf noed if killers are bad or not

If the gens are done and the killer only got 0-1 hooks, then you have had plenty of breathing room to go get rid of totems.
Noed doesn't reward bad play, it punishes lazy play.
Yes, it rewards bad killers. I play very few killer games, and I always do the same. I break as many pallets as I can and at the end I demolish survs with noed. Easy as hell
-
@dugman said:
I have yet to see any statistical evidence NOED is better than, say, Haunted Grounds in increasing kill rates. I'm not saying it's a bad perk, it's a solid one, but most of the complaints I see leveled against NOED fall into either
- "It rewards bad play". Which is a bad argument because it's falsely assuming that if the gens are done the killer was "bad". When in fact the game is intentionally designed so that when the survivors play well and the killer plays well the kills will be in the 1-3 range so the gens should be done most of the time. If anything gens being stopped most of the time would be an indication something is off that favors killers, that's not supposed to be the norm.
- "It's not fun to have a strong perk in the end game". The only reason it's "not fun" is because people hate falsely thinking they've won the match already only to lose at the very end. I've never seen anybody complain after my matches when Haunted Grounds gives me a 4k by giving me 2-3 instant downs midgame, but because of this false sense of victory when the gens are done if NOED gives even a single down it's "unfair".
Honestly, NOED has been in the game since the very beginning, I guarantee the devs have looked at it periodically and never seen it causing kill inflation. And yeah, they're slow to act on thing, but by now they've adjusted almost everything else that's that old (e.g. keys, hatches, moris, a bunch of killer abilities, etc) or at the very least said they are actively working on it (e.g. They've talked about not being happy with Dead Hard's stats and also about how they've been experimenting with ways to mitigate face camping). If NOED really were problematic it would have almost certainly shown up as something they're focused on changing at some point.
If gens are done and the killer only got 0-1 hooks yes, the killer is bad

Sb? What is that?
Sprint burst. I used overcome weeks ago, and it’s frustrating for m1 killers. You see a killer and run. It takes soooo long time to catch me
-
B&c shouldn’t show the aura of survs in the dying state. Perhaps this way you see less slug for the 4k

It will be worse with sb

I didn't know this but it is a good idea otherwise you could play as P3 Claudie and hide all match until you get the hatch and increase your MMR lol... Which would obviously be absurd
And hook someone and place yourself under the hook is less absurd?

@DistortedDream said:
So as someone who actively plays killer, I always get survivors complaining about getting camped, slugged, or tunneled. So here I am explaining why both of them are fair.
Firstly, camping, slugging, and tunnelling is a playstyle. Yes, they can be annoying playstyles, but so can gen-rushing and sabotaging, which are also playstyles. If survivors can gen rush and/or run annoying sabo builds, why can't killers slug, camp or tunnel?
Secondly, they are both necessary in some situations. Camping, slugging, and tunnelling at 1-2 gens is a must if you haven't sacrificed any survivors yet. Slugging slows down the game, which can be helpful on the killers end and eliminating at least one survivor out of the match is top priority at that point.
And thirdly, camping, slugging, and tunnelling is easily counterable. If a killer is camping, rush gens. If a killer is tunneling, rush gens and/or bring DS or other anti-tunnel perks/builds. If a killer is slugging, rush gens and go help your teammates up when you think they are close to being fully recovered.
Yes, they are annoying playstyles, but they are perfectly fine and fair. Survivors can have annoying playstyles, killers can have annoying playstyles and all of them are perfectly fine.
Using infinites was also an strategy

I disagree. The skill check is the only input required for the perk - and it really isn't hard at all.
Perk's been around since the dinosaurs and it having a skill check has never been a factor in its use.
That being said, it probably shouldn't be deactivated if you miss the first time. If you miss and get hooked/unhooked again, you should still be able to use it.
The skill check is bugged with the new wiggle option

The fact that it doesn't happen often is no excuse. Why should a situation that saps the killer of any control, regardless of how they performed, be possible in the first place?
But if the scenario I proposed was too fringe for you, then allow me to mention several others that are far more common. Each having the exact same problem of the killer being punished even if they don't tunnel. Survivors can still have DS active when they:
- Immediately body block for their rescuer and force the killer to hit them. Especially if their rescuer had BT.
- Disable killer powers. Including disarming Trapper's bear traps, detecting Ghost Face's night shroud, solving Pinhead's box and using a flashlight to destroy Hag traps.
- Open the exit gates.
No matter how you slice it DS is a perk that allows the survivor to actively punish the killer for doing their job. The fact that it is designed to counter tunnelling is irrelevant when it can still be so rampantly abused if the killer doesn't tunnel at all.
Ideally, the game should be changed so killers no longer have to tunnel, slug and camp just to have a chance of winning against competent survivors. But until that happens, (if there's even a chance of it happening), DS in its current state is incredibly unhealthy for the game. And being able to use it after jumping inside a locker is the least of its problems.
Yes, it’s better if survs start the game hooked to help killers
-
only If pop deactivated if the killer hit someone also

Yeah but they wouldn't look into it like that, remember their fix to giddeon being killer sided was add XX safe/god pallets in.
Using NOED will also definitely hurt players learning and getting better without it, afterall if they get extra kills due to it and go up in mmr they shall verse harder opponents and likely have less of a fun time as they're relying on it to help them.
I have no issues with the perk itself but I dont have faith in the devs to balance killers through things that can twist result and I also see alot of killers that struggle through a match have noed at the end. Once again I dont care but it just feels like they're misplaced and shouldn't be versing me but noed has lifted their mmr
I have 5000 hours and I play with killers with 100 hours or less, all with noed, of course

If at all it could need a buff because it is already very fragile.
Every surv can just do totems and the perk is COMPLETELY gone before activating. (Can i do this with Dead Hard? I think not)
You can do it with ds, bt and ub if you don’t camp/tunnel/slug. This is 3 meta perks useless

@Tostapane said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/320258/ds-shouldnt-have-a-skill-check
I would gladly remove the skillcheck required to activate the perk, but in exchange that DS will be deactivated if you:
1 take a protection hit (since they want to put borrowed time as a basekit skill, if you are bodyblocking with BT you are pretty much asking for being tunneled)
2 when you jump in a locker
3it will deactivate once all generators are done (you aren't being tunneled anymore at this point) or if you need to keep it active even in the endgame then just deactivate it if you are opening the exit gates (this is another survivor objective after all so they shouldn't be rewarded like the old DS for doing the objective under the killer's nose without worrying about anything)
I prefer to put the same skill check every time a killer hooks someone. if the killer fails, you escape
-
of Course, same as camping, tunneling, noed, killers hitting hooked survs..
-
Sb. Overcome was a very good perk when it was bugged and it activated after bt when the killer camp and tunnel you, but now it’s another trash survs perk

Playing killer for the past few days, just grinding BP with BBQ to dump onto some killers and survivors, Im not a fan of running insanely meta perks, or strong ones at that.
For survivors though, I see the complete and polar opposite. So I decided to play 20 matches and post the most used perks I saw:
Dead Hard ~ 79 out of 80 survivors ran this (shoutout to that one guy running Smash Hit)
DS ~ 70 out of 80 survivors ran this
Unbreakable ~ 40 out of 80 survivors ran this
Boon: Circle of Healing ~ 50 out of 80 survivors ran this
Iron Will ~ 32 out of 80 survivors ran this
Adrenaline ~ 30 out of 80 survivors ran this
To the 19 other perks used, there were just miscellaneous situational perks, such as Any Means Necessary or We're Gonna Live Forever.
Where is the variety? I mean, we see this in both sides but I generally feel like it's unfair for either side to face such strong perks and at that, consistent. It generally isnt fun for most people running stuff that isnt meta or strong to face against the strongest stuff in the game, it's the weakest stuff from versus the strongest stuff in the game, the huge difference it makes for both sides is noticeable.
Im not saying that both sides cant run what they want, Im saying that something, anything, needs to change, this can be crippling for the game. (And, while youre here, I must make it known that I will continue to record the perks I see every game, I eventually plan on making a spreadsheet for public viewing.)
Killers have many gen regression perks, so you don’t see always the same perks. But survs have 1 anti tunnel perk, 1 anti camp perk, 1 anti slug perk and only 2 good exhaustion perks. What do you expect?

Survivor queues are longer due to so many people in queue. This leads to unfair matches since the system needs to find the a match sooner or later whether it’s balanced or not

Again; pointing out that 3/6ths (1/2; 5 gens + exit gate) of the Survivor's objectives pop in the FIRST CHASE out of at least 4 is not making up fake rules.
Commenting 'gens go too fast' is an opinion on gen speeds. I am not, in any way, saying either side won or lost.
Saying 'This is OP because 5 gens popping is basically losing' is trying to create a fake rule and enforce it.
But all your own posts are so Survivor-sided that it's clear you're unable to ever see anything from the Killer point of view. I now remember I stopped talking to you because you were unwilling to ever see anything in this game other than 'Survivors need buffs because they deserve it, and Killers are OP forever.'
So I'll resume not replying to you. Good day.
Yes , I’m a surv main, but you won’t see a comment asking for killer nerfs (aside removing noed). I only want something for survs, because we haven’t see anything good in 4 years that wasn’t nerfed, and I play less and less every day

@Key said:
I survivor main. I can count on my fingers how many times I’ve played killer but last night I wanted to try. So going into my first killer match for the first time in 2 years, I’m matched up wit god tier survivors with dead hards, DS, boons etc. They gen rushed and teabagged me all throughout the chases. But after the final gen was completed, I had the NOED surprise and was able to get 3/4. Of course the all proceeded to message me and tell me how trash I am etc etc and I camped bodies but realistically, what am I supposed to do with a sweaty team like that when all the gens are done? I see why killers are leaving this game or resorting to camping especially with toxic survivors
I’m a survivor main, but I play wraith once a month. I don’t know what game you’re playing, but I get 4k and I would probably get 3-4k without turning on the monitor.

Your point? The whataboutism does not work here.
Killers are stating they have very little time to attempt their objective, and have to play 'sweaty' and get insulted by angry babies. Survivors are stating Killers have lost because 5 gens popped, and game balance should change to fit their made-up rule.
These things are not the same. So you want to try again?
Half of your posts are about .. survs don’t win yet when 5 gens are done. And same happens when surv do 3 gen at first hook
-
At least I expect they write in the mid chapter notes: For survs... a hug

CoH nerf didnt go through just yet, we are still waiting for the Midchapter update. (And frankly, it’s not the nerf it needed anyways).
On Dead Hard, they have recently (for BHVRs standards at least) confirmed they will review it. I think the earliest we can expect anything is Midchapter after the anniversary. And they probably won’t share any details before that (this was an exception when reworking OoO - and I actually hoped they would do it more often that way)
Reworking OoO? I haven’t see any OoO since the “rework” that makes OoO a killer perk

See, you have to change your mindset. The Killer did not 'suck' to have 5 gens pop. This is BS.
Think of this: Survivors say Killers 'sweat' if they kill with 5 gens to go. Survivors say Killers 'suck' if all 5 gens pop. Both are excuses as to why the Killer should not get kills at that time.
So, according to Survivors; Killers have to wait until 1 gen pops (and it's very frequently 2-3 at the first pop) but stop using perks that help after 5 gens pop?
Let me ask a better question; Why. The hell. Are Survivors deciding if they OPPONENT deserves kills, or dictating WHEN their opponent gets kills? What makes Survivors think they can chose when their opponent wins, or how?
Stop thinking 'NoED rewards sucking' because that's wrong. Literally just factually incorrect. 5 gens is just step 5 out of 6 for leaving. Nothing more, nothing less.
It's not a cut-off point for Killer skill.
It's not 'basically winning' or losing.
Killers have not 'basically failed' if 5 gens pop.
There is nothing special or holy about the 5th gen popping. Nothing that makes it a cut-off point for skill or kills.
Try to get those notions out of your head, because all they are are fake flaws and incorrect excuses to blame NoED for Survivors too lazy to do bones. Sorry, but that is the truth.
Well, killers say it’s not ok when 3 gens get finished when you hook the first Surv.

And you also probably face killers without NOED that get 0 hooks, what’s your point? Other than that NOED is a universal perk available to all killers on their bloodwebs without needing dlc?
My point is sbmm put a very bad killer against a surv with 4.700 more hours than him only because he gets free kills with noed
-
@dugman said:
I’m skeptical about claims of NOED being overpowered because if it were actually that broken we probably would have seen stats showing correlations between NOED and higher kill rates than other perks provide. It’s one of the most complained about perks on the forums and yet I have never seen data showing it’s better than, say, Haunted Grounds which nobody complains about. Most of the complaints instead seem to be things like “it’s not fun to go against” or “it rewards bad play” or things like that which are just subjective playstyle preferences. That and the common misconception that “if the gens got done the killer was bad” when in reality the game is intentionally designed so that if the survivors play as well as the killer the median result is 1-3 kills with the gates open. Gens being done is supposed to be the norm, not the exception, when the survivors play well.
So yeah, I’m pretty sure if NOED was really correlated with high kill rates it would have been called out by the devs by now.
I have 5.000 hours as surv and I play against killers with 30 hours that make 0 hooks before egc. How do you think this is possible? Of course at the end they have noed
-
@AcelynnBen said:
seriously its an end game perk
doesn't help you early or mid game, and it can be easily countered by doing bones
which can be revealed by Detective's hunch and Small game
like honestly if i as a killer could cleanse a hex that gave survivors dead hard i would do it every game, screw killing survivors i will roam the whole map looking for it just so i can get one kill without having to deal with bs
and even with noed a killer can lose, because you know, DS exists and unbreakable and flashlights too
so please for the love of the entity stop f*cking complaining about it, when you as a survivor is running the most toxic build in existence and yet SOMEHOW u still think that killers having ONE clutch perk that works END GAME not middle not early, END GAME, compared to what, boons, dead hard, ds, that can be triggered at ANY TIME is very unfun and unbalanced
Well, create a perk that marks 5 lockers and if the killer don’t touch every locker at egc survs move faster and the killer needs 3 hits to put them in diying state. You’ll see if the perk would be meta or not
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
Survivors don't really need Perks to get a pity escape after losing

@Sally_S_gay_son said:
I disagree.
If you are good at survivor you do not need most of the meta perks to win, you just have to have enough game sense and some sort of understanding of what is going on with the rest of the team so you are not wasting time.
If you are not in a chase or unhooking or cleansing a hex, you have to be a on a gen, and that's basically it, you have to remember the killer cannot pressure 4 people at once unless he is allowed (like people allow camping Bubba to 4k because no one is doing gens or trading).
Just be smart about not 3 gening and trading when needed and learn to loop and you are already good to go. You do not need COH or DH for that
I am currently prestiging Feng and I have been playing with lithe / windows since I did not have dh when I was in the P2 phase, so just messing around with some random perks and in most cases my chases were still okay and I managed to escape. In solo.
The biggest issue, and the one you actually should have talked about is that people who are new at killer play super scummy (camping/tunneling without any exception with noed slapped at the end) and that's the problem for the new players since Killer is much easier as beginner than Survivor. No one will want to stay after getting camped 1 min into the game
New players do not know how to use Dead Hard properly and will press it randomly in the open just to dodge a hit and go down 1 sec later and they certainly won't have Mikaela unlocked and leveled up the moment they start the game to even have COH.
Killers used to compare win as killer (3-4k) against escaping as surv (1 escape). Do you see more 4k or 4 escapes? Because I see more 4k

So if a killer got 4k camping the basement with monstrous shrine we must nerf it?

Scourge Hook: Floods Of Rage
You have to chase someone, down them, carry them to a Scourge Hook, and then wait for the unhook for the Perk to activate, at which point you would've already been in a chase so the info would've been pretty useless
A 5 years old child can do those difficult tasks
