Bad peoples in real life are also bad people in a video game, so yes, you see a lot

I don't think Exponential is strong
If a perk help survs in anything they would say it’s strong

A 2% haste status is basically just putting the haste icon on your screen for decorative purposes.
I legitimately struggle to see a scenario where this Boon is worth using by itself. All other similar Survivor Haste perks are 7% haste (Blood Pact, Guardian, Hope and Breakout). If the Devs were super worried about Haste stacking they could just code it out so only one Haste perk can be in effect at a time.
and you could see killers complaining when the perk appears

Yes, I do.
If a Killer perk performs well? Nerfs are called for it. 'The Killer meta is boring to play against' or '<x> perk/power is unfun' or '<x> perk/power is crutch'. All excuses to 'nerf it!' All of it is Survivors assuming their fun takes priority over Killer fun or game balance.
Survivor perks perform well & Killers complain? 'Git gud' and 'Learn 2 play' and 'stop wanting easy 4Ks'.
Look at the front page here:
- D.Strike should be automatic. Hell, some people have suggested it should be automatic AND reward bonus stun for the skillcheck.
- Nerf PoP. Nerf Pain Resonance.
- Clown's bottles are OP because of interface screw.
Another common one is 'Hag is OP because of HER interface screw.'
I really liked the thread that demanded Killers 'Be happy with the 3K' and 'Stop sweating for the 4K' and shaming them for wanting to win, months back. People legit thought Killers wanting a 4K were 'toxic'. Let me put that another way; They thought it was normal and expected to get a free escape, and Killer's 4King were in the wrong.
Hell, I've had Survivors, in game, give me THREATS because I did not give the 4th Survivor the hatch. THAT is how entitled some Survivors are. They think 'I survived last' = 'Killer must let me go' and openly threaten people who break this 'rule'.
Or how about Survivors demanding input on how Killers win?
- Camping? Toxic.
- Tunneling? Toxic.
- Slugging? Toxic.
To the point that some people were openly making threads on this forum insulting Killers who did any of that. Because they felt their fun, and their rules, trumped Killer player agency.
I even remember one guy who suggested 'The Hook Timer should pause when the Killer is near' and was told 'They tried this, years ago; Survivors abused it'. His reply? 'Well, I was not around to try it, so they should do it again'. That's right; some Survivors felt 'I did not get to abuse this mechanic' was a valid reason to bring it back, flaws and all.
My screen name aside; I did not start DbD this jaded. Years of Survivors treating me like a freaking AI opponent with 0 feelings who can't break the Survivor's Rulebook unless I want a verbal beating have made me this jaded.
I had to make my steam profile private because EVERY GAME ended with at least 1 brain trust Hurrdy-derring '-rep <thin excuse as to why I did not REALLY lose>' onto my profile page. And I got sick of it.
So yeah; I have reasons why I claim Survivors are toxic.
That said; Killers are not saints, either. Don't think I'm saying that. But when I do play Survivor; I rarely see a Killer blast me for my perks, or my tactics, or because I lost, or because I won.
But it happens from Survivors, on average, every second match, when I play Killer.
At the front page you can see 30 comments. Yes, 2 or 3 are from survs. But the rest are killers criying. Lol

you have 2 eyes

Skill checks are very easy. Killer mains never fail one. Devs should not remove skill check but add them to hooking people

Camping drops mmr though. There's even a point deduction for post game stats.
Camping let bad killers get kills. Same as noed.
-
What promotes more campers is camping, tunneling and noed. Killers get free kills and then the mmr put them against good survs. And they don’t know how to play, so they camp and come here to cry

Truthfully, that's how the game was designed to be played. Surviving was meant to be very difficult. In a 4v1 the survival rate should be 1 per match average. They chose 2 but that's not how it should be.
Surviving should be like the Hunger Games where a rescue requires analyzing whether you are helping your own survival by keeping that person alive or repairing gens and sacrificing them.
Surviving a match should be an honor or acknowledgment of sorts, not an expectation.
That’s not true. Killers only get buffs after buff. At the beginning bnp, infinite, intaheals,... made killer experience miserable

Blight & Nurse: I wish more than anything that Shadowborn was basekit, it would open up so much more build variety having that 4th perk slot open.
Twins: Revert the Victor hit cooldown nerf, unironically one of the poorest, laziest changes they've ever done.
Pyramid Head: Make it so there's no slowdown when canceling Rites of Judgment outside of chase, there's no reason for it to give you the slowdown, it just feels clunky.
Hillbilly: Make the brown overheat addon basekit.
Trapper: Make the brown glove addon basekit.
Yes, buff blight and nurse, they’re so weak!

Yet she's the only killer in the game that ignores the general chase design
Have the devs ever actually played killer at high mmr and seen the misery found in most jungle gyms? Survivors being guaranteed 3 nice vaults in most instances, coupled with a nice pallet slam at the end of each one and that's a good result. The bad result is they just hold W and find another juicy vault nearby or some way that they don't waste their resources to avoid a hit. It's just a miserable experience where when playing most killers you feel there really is little you can do other go through the general motions of the game and hope gens don't all pop at once. When survivors aren't making mistakes the game very much feels like you're just a train on rail tracks with a single direction, limited options, survivors won't fear you in most cases. Body blocks, dead hard, decisive strikes, borrowed time, flashlights, abusing your miniscule FoV, any strategy you might use to apply pressure is simply removed. Oh, and plenty of groups have comms so they can coordinate their assaults which isn't even entirely necessary.
Yet the one good thing for me is playing nurse. Immediately 90% of the nonsense that survivors readily deal to other killers is gone. The outcome of the game is no longer in their hands. And that's the way the game should be, because when you're playing a killer you shouldn't feel hopeless and survivors shouldn't feel so bold.
And you don’t have any problem with survs feeling hopeless against nurse, do you?

I still remember how people asked for the Undying nerf. Because the Undying Ruin combo "won killers matches, without doing anything". Well a killer who wanted to get any benefit out of that combo, had to constantly switch targets. Aka hit and run. I argued that nerfing this would increase camping&tunneling, but people played it down. And well... here we are!
And I tell you nerf healing will increase gen rushing

Shadow Step can be devastating on indoor maps.
Exponential is extremely powerful in a SWF and against killers that rely on slugging.
Everyone concentrates on CoH, but ignores that the other boons can also be game changers. Perhaps not for solo queue, but definetly for SWF.
But we´re getting off topic here. This is about Thrill not deserving to be a hex perk.
I use exponential, ub it’s better, but when exponential activates it’s so funny. But with the COH nerf you’ll see less of them. The other 2 are totally trash

As i said, first let's fix the actual annoying and "OP" things in this game which are obv, swf and dead hard. Let me ask all of you this question.
How many times per day you see nurse? And then how many times -per match- you see dead hards or how many times you go against a sweat squad? Eh.
And yes i'm not here to defend her addons, as I don't care but there are other bigger problems in this game than her addons. Let's not forget that many killer's stopped playing this game since mmr.
How many times per day you play against 4 boil over swf?

Always killer mains posting about how solo is fine and how they escape 100% of their matches in solo q with no meta perks. Odd isn't it?
Of course they escape. They have thousand of hours as killers and play as surv once per month and play against 10 hours killers

Yes these are good addons. A lot of killers have good addons. What’s the next theme ? Blight ? The Artist ? AFK Pig ? Pinhead ? Everyday there is a new complaint about a killer in a heavy survivor sided meta. She takes hundreds of hours for the average player to be decent at.
And do you think these swf killers are complaining every day have 10 hours each?
-
It was exponential. I use COH also, but with the new nerf it will be bt and ub again.
for killers, noed. I have fun chasing survs and ignoring gens. Anyway at egc I always get at least 2 kills.

Since survivors can choose where and when to set up their boon. On top of being able to relight them as often as they want, boons are in every single aspect superior to hexes.
Yes, if they do something. But boon perks are trash (not COH, of course)

I know it sucks for survivor players to not have these overpowered perks anymore (CoH is still really good), but these perks were making killer players pretty miserable. These nerfs were 100% needed. I still think CoH and boons in general need additional nerfs so they aren’t the permanent second objective for killers that they are now
Dont worry, the COH nerf also kill all other boon perks

I’ve seen a few Perk Tier list and COB is high up there. I am not saying it is a weak perk but isn’t it easily countered?
I have used this a couple times, and the survivors usually know that I have it early/mid game and just tap the generator, even while I am chasing them.
I would probably use it more if gen tapping wasn’t a thing to prevent the generator from regressing but what are your guys thoughts on the perk?
I personally give it a 3/5. Not bad but easily countered. If gen tapping wasn’t a thing, I would use it more
Same counter as boon totems

@beatddb said:
I've been playing this game for many years now, and I can't believe that gameplay-wise, we are really far from having a balanced game.
Many mechanics seem to be, intentionally or not, favoring survivors. I want to name a few that come to mind.
- Map offerings
Both killer and survivor share the same map offering pool, but seems like the devs forgot about the 4:1 ratio when it comes to offerings. It is far more likely that a survivor team burs one, than a killer. And the sacrificial ward offering is green for some reason (and can be cancelled by 4 map offerings too). The fact that a survivor team can plan ahead what map to abuse and run a specific perk build to make the match as unbalanced as possible, isn't something that should happen in a game reaching its 6th anniversary.
- Perk weight
Can someone please explain to me, why, in terms of perks, its 16 vs 4? It would maybe make sense if survivor perks weren't really game changing, and killer perks were low-mid tier at best. But right now, even the most useless survivor can be carried by their perks alone. The only killer perk that comes to mind capable of this is NOED, yet at least 1/3 of survivor perks do this for them.
It's even worse when as a killer you need to sacrifice one or two slots for slowdown perks. So I can't really try a lot of fun perk builds that come to mind because if I dont have pop, ruin, pain resonance or whatever other slowdown perk the game will be over with 3 hooks and a lot of tbagging at the gates.
- Items
If there's something I hate in this game are toolboxes, a brown toolbox with yellow addons is enough for it to be game changing. Who at BHVR decided to give a 3000bp item that much impact?
I never dodge lobbies, but as soon as I see 2 toolboxes in the lobby I'm already considering Alt+f4ing and head out to play RDR2. And if there are 3 toolboxes or more, I'm out without even trying (I like my matches over 3 minutes long, you see).
Even though I've been a killer main for 5 years now, I also play survivor. Me and my 3-man SWF really enjoy the game (I sometimes even enjoy SoloQ). But the fact that gameplaywise, killer is so demanding and you have most of the game's mechanics against you, I wouldn't be surprised if this kills the game eventually. Devs, please show some consideration for those who play killer, we want a fair match too.
surv perks affect the surv that brings the perk (a few of them all the survs), and killer perks affect all the survs.
Keys are totally trash now, so survs bring toolboxes or medkits. Nerf toolboxes and you’ll see medkits.
sorry, but you can’t nerf everything for survs

The "echo chamber" is right there. You can count the threads and will see that killer make up the far most threads in this forum. thats undeniable.
And you dont have to run the most op things as killer to be fine every game. And you dont have to play like a jerk too. Thats a common misconception in killer mindset, cause most killer players are bad af and dont have any interest in learning how to utilize a killer properly. thats also undeniable.
In the ptb feedback there’s only 1 survivor comment, mine

Camping and tunneling aren't second chances, they're efficiency
Camping and tunneling are the free version of ds and bt for killers
-
@Dionysus42 said:
There are basically none. Most people who play this game play both sides.
Stop crying about 'echo chambers'. There are none: if you actually are a survivor main you will think there are more killer threads than there really are, and vice versa. It's basic cognitive bias. Actually count the threads, it is and has always been pretty much balanced bitching from 'both sides'.
Stop crying over how other people play, and make a critical analysis of how the game itself encourages people to play - and you will find that running the strongest things every game is not a moral failing, but a function of how the game is designed, and the same for camping and tunneling.
Most of the forum is pointless bitching. Such as the PTB forums with a dozen threads where people preface themselves with 'Unlike you snowflake Killer mains I'm not so sensitive' and then proceed to throw a tantrum over crouch animations.
And me? I'm waiting for singleplayer bot games so I can start playing again.
Are you really saying there’s the same number of killer and survivor posts here?

Became the Killer meta is generally balanced, unlike the Survivor meta? The Survivor meta is made out of second chances, the Killer meta is made out of Perks that make the game longer so Generators don't get finished in 5 minutes
ds and bt are second chances, but camping and tunneling are the same second chances for killers, but without using perks

yeah but it's also very overwhelming when the killer faces 4 survivors with total of 16 perks each doing something useful
while he is alone with 4 perks, one of which could be easily destroyed hex while the surv can forever relit the boons
I love devs to give killers 16 perks, but only 4 of them apply to any surv (same as surv perks apply only for the surv that have it) so we don’t see this kind of comments again
-
Keys are another surv thing that was nerfed to the ground. I haven’t see any key since the massive nerf
