I don't see how a killer can camp, tunnel, slug, and shake their head and don't get punished for any of it. What are the other survivors doing, just watching? They could be doing 5 gens in the amount of time the killer is doing that stuff.
Win = killer's fault, lose = killer's fault I guess.
-
Case by case. If I see a Claudette hiding in the locker the whole game, I have half a mind to try and open it while she's in there in front of the killer. But if it's just normal stuff like "Man, you let me get to 2nd hook because you left the gen too late!" that's just normal stuff, mostly unintentional, and shouldn't be punished.

Underrated: Freddy, maybe? I feel he is one of the stronger killers in the game. He isn't busted, but he is still top tier, in my ever so humble opinion. I feel he often gets overlooked just because other killers are more egregiously overturned.
Overrated: Trapper. How anyone puts him above anything but dead last is a mystery to me.
Rated Fine: I agree with a lot of people here, Trickster takes the cake.
So Trickster is better than Trapper?
-
Overrated would be Spirit, underrated would be Oni, and right rated would be Hag.
-
What isn't broken at this point?
-
As survivor, there's still freezes. As killer, especially Nemesis, always freezes when I use my power. This is some bullshit.
-
Happens on PS4 too still.
-
They already punish campers, don't you know? They destroy hooks for some reason after someone gets sacrificed on them!

While I’m sure not every killer would abuse it to tunnel, a lot would.
So you're saying that without this mechanic, killers won't tunnel?

@Momentosis said:
Sorry BHVR thinks it'll encourage tunneling.
Which is a silly conclusion.

It's so freaking easy to escape as survivor though.

Same thing.

New character comes out and you have enough points already to get the stuff you want on them?
And people will argue to death why it's a bad idea to have a much higher if not infinite bp cap, but I haven't really heard a good reason.

Killer or Survivor?
Both.

Couldn't get a match! I can't even see if the game runs well because the queues are at least 5 minutes. At that point, I just turned the game off because I was wasting my time. I don't know if it's because of the boycott or the general feeling of people not wanting to play because of the last 2 patches, but these queue times are unacceptable.
-
It's live finally?
-
I demand the ability to play the game that I bought!
-
Because if the cap was higher, bp hackers could get more bp. So punishing everyone else for that is BHVR's idea of fairness.
-
They probably won't be working with BHVR again. They've absolutely butchered this chapter launch, and it's the most important one!
-
Nevah!

The update is out? nothing has changed in my game.
Exactly.

I am outraged beyond words.

Awesome.

I can't believe this stuff isn't fixed yet.
-
If they're gonna do it, they need to just make it a sidenote. Maybe it's not even mentioned in their backstory. The devs could just say somewhere on a Q&A or something, "This character is blank". Because if they revolve the character's personality around it, that's just tokenism.

I dont know why spectator is so bad in this game. You cant see gens remaining, hook states, who is alive, etc. Whats the point of it?
So that you can have people spectate instead of doing nothing. Custom games allow up to 6 friends to be in 1 lobby, 1 being the spectator, so you can swap them in and out depending on whatever order y'all have decided. If someone can't participate in the match, the least they can do is watch.

Is there anyone like me who barely used keys at all? I honestly can't even remember using them. I only know I did a few times in 3 years, some for the challenge I think.
Well that's you. Everyone else abuses them.
-
They need to add more spectator spots to custom games.
-
Yeah there's some killers that I'm more cautious about than others but it's not like I see a Leatherface or a Nurse and am like "oh my gosh, I need to DC instantly". They're all at least fun to face.
-
This is why we need an MMR system, so that people can't just de-rank and bully new killers.

You've found the root cause of killer players that earnestly despise survivors, and the flip side to survivor players that think killers are the scum of the earth (because much like this, they keep running into hard tunnelers and campers.) Nothing spreads resentment in this game faster than players that go out of their way to be cocky asshats and who have fun trying to make the other team miserable, and the kinds of people that recognize their opponent is a baby/are babies and goes "haha, this is the perfect opportunity to bully" are really just pathetic.
Sometimes I wish there was a thumbs down option for players that didn't break rules but behaved like shitheels. But there isn't, so the best you can do is try not to let it get to you, move on to the next match, and don't take out your frustrations on the next batch preemptively - otherwise you risk becoming a part of the problem. And if you had a team that was bullying you all game (not just outplaying you, but being really obnoxious about it), and they make it out, never go to the exit gates; just roam around breaking pallets, or alt-tab and watch cat videos or something. It's a bit of petty revenge you can exact on them, because you know they will waste two minutes in the desperate hopes that they can show you their clicky clicky butt dance.
Yeah like I'm gonna pallet stun or blind a killer if they keep allowing it to happen, but I'm not gonna tbag or flashlight click or anything because I can literally tell they have a lot to learn.
-
You're not gonna see much of any killers right now. The game freezes every time you try to use your power.

With the poor optimization starting to devour Hag's with the tp animation pausing it's horrendous to play her.
Yeah even before these freezes, Hag felt a little bad to play. You completely stop your walking momentum when you tp, so if you don't lunge and hit a survivor immediately after tp ing, you have to walk for 5 seconds extra just to catch up to them, almost defeating the purpose of the trap. And then sometimes somehow you tp to the wrong trap even though it wasn't the most recently sprung one.

Yeah. Like me.

Balanced Landing fits Jane best because she has thunder thighs.

If people are camping with Deathslinger they're not playing him right, and can be easily punished. STBFL let's you hook trade better, encouraging camping, but if the obsession runs up, you waste your stacks. Those 2 perks, M&A and STBFL, are just really good on him. His terror radius becomes even smaller, and he can hit and then shoot to get a second hit in very quick succession. The reason you won't see some Deathslinger's use the gun that much is because you can get off crazy shots as Deathslinger but don't get anything from them, because survivors get caught on things and can't be reeled in. Deathslingers preferably want to hit you, then shoot you and reel you in, not shoot both times and risk making the chase way longer if they miss, which will happen a lot right now because of the freezes. Every time I go in to shoot it freezes.
-
It's gotta be Tru3. I can't catch his streams usually but he uploads a bunch of his matches on YouTube every day, so you always have content of his coming out. He's the one who got me into this game really. If you want to play at high level, watch what he does.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what it means: "hold w"
It's referring to PC controls first of all because w is forward on there, so me being on console I just call it "holding forward" sometimes. But holding W basically means as survivor you don't attempt to loop or misdirect the killer or anything. You just run forward, killer catches up, get a sprint burst from getting hit, hold forward some more, and by the time the killer downs you and hooks you, you've wasted like 40-50 seconds of their time, which could be like 2 or 3 gens if your teammates are doing them. That's holding w hardcore though. What I would do for example is hold forward until the killer catches up to me, and then start looping at a the jungle gym or whatever is there. Or if the killer thinks I'm gonna stop at the loop and loop there, I can keep running and he might think I'm still there.
Sometimes it's on the killer though. If you know the survivor is holding forward and you're gonna take a while to catch up to them, maybe don't even chase them. If all 4 survivors are doing this though, there's nothing really you can do.

I always auto aims onto to unhooked person. That's why we have to go all the way around them just hit the unhooker, which gives them a chance to Dead Hard or the unhooked person to body block them with Borrowed. That's why this ######### needs to be fixed!

As of now the devs have said they can’t confirm if or when cross Progression will ever come for Sony and Microsoft platforms. They also said they know the community wants it and they will try to get it.
it’s currently only available for Steam and Stadia with Switch supposed to join soon.
It's not coming. They punked us.

They aren't exactly 0 skill escapes. They still need to get gens done for a team wide escape.
Still skipping the objective hardcore.
-
Probably Pyramid Head. It feels good to hit his ranged attack.
-
Deathslinger comes to mind. You could argue Hag's for specifically this time in the game because they're all hexes, and Counterforce now exists.
-
Trickster is still the worst.

@DwarvenTavern said:
... just do gens with a buddy.
Teammates in solo are allergic to gens. You'll almost never catch me doing a gen with someone else. Plus, splitting up on gens is more efficient.
-
There's like 2 killers that are unloopable. It does feel like the same game, just evolved. Holding W is something survivors could have done all along, but now it's just coming to light how much time it wastes even though it's a simple tactic. The way you say it though, you're only holding W instead of beginning to loop when the killer gets close to you.
-
Specifically I think chases are the most fun for each role. Generally, I just want my decisions and skill to matter which a lot of the time they don't, because of bad matchmaking or bad game balance. And there's either too many long chases I have to do for survivor and no gens get done, or too few chases as killer because the gens are done so fast. It's very "worst of both worlds" in this game.
-
Because it's a video game, it's a unique perspective on that. Of course you'd be disturbed to know that your favorite ketchup says it has an ingredient in it on the label, and then it actually doesn't have it, kind of like the devs saying that they'll introduce this new feature of be transparent about x stats, and then they don't do it. But would we notice that 1 ingredient is missing from the ketchup? Maybe. Would we dig deeper into it and bash the company that makes it? Probably not.
Games are made up of code and polygon work and other things, and those are becoming less and less mysterious as more amateur/up and coming game developers enter the market. So they're the ones telling us "this thing that the devs are having such a hard time doing, is not that hard" and so their knowledge validates us thinking that the devs are just lazy or inexperienced. Maybe that's not true, but we heard it from someone who knows what they're talking about.
For one reason or another I do care BHVR's problems, especially because I want them to succeed because I want this game that I love to succeed, and them making so many mistakes so consistently disheartens me. I've bought the game, I've payed for the licensed chapters since I couldn't get them with shards, and I'm not really gonna spend more on the game than that. And that's not coming from a "I don't want to give them my money" type of mindset, I would have done that anyway because I buy the bare necessities and use my money wisely/sparingly. I just want to be able to play what I payed for without freezes and bugs and all this stuff that is consistently featured in this game. So although I can empathize with the devs, I expect better of them.

How does that boot taste?
I don't know what you're talking about. I'm the last person you'll see defending the devs, except for the new survivor animations that got shot down by a baseless cancel culture.

Stopped playing for about 6 months ,
Did the fix the hit boxes or can killers still hit you when your on the floor , and they are on the 2nd at a window , or did they add the hit double check ?
Do killers still get the auto aim ?
Would be nice to farm so bp while I'm rusty
I don't think they changed much on the hit validation. It's not like that one patch where the Oni's lunge was crazy or something, but it's just good old DBD hit detection. Auto aim is very much still a thing because I'll aim to swing through the pallet and hit the survivor, but it hits the pallet instead and then I get pallet stunned. Do not play the game right now though, at least if you're on console. The freezes are terrible. And even some people on PC report getting some of that. You'll just have to see for yourself.
