You were chain-blinded, most likely, which essentially means you didn't look away and the survivor was able to repeatedly "refresh" the blind duration before it expired. Always look down or up after getting blinded so that doesn't happen.
Either that or it was one of those hackers who flashlights the killer from full-map away.
-
It's not toxic, but it's BS that's been created by this bad game balance, the fact that 5 gens can get done in the first 3 minutes as long as survivors are playing efficiently, even when the killer tries their heart out.

Kinda like in real life huh, you run from a killer to waste time not stop. Jokes aside it's a game based on horror movies, but in horror movies usually have a character stumble so the killer can catch up. That's why I like Fridays stumble mechanic. The more fear a survivor builds, the more panic, and the more chance that the character stumbles. Wish they would implement a feature like this, but its probably to late for that
But this is a game. And anyway, I didn't like the stumble mechanic in Friday The 13th because it was too random, and didn't have much to do with skill, even though I did like that composure was a thing and that it could be affected by Jason cutting the power.
-
Yeah I can't believe there was one point where I only played killer. Those were the most miserable times I ever had on this game. Survivor is worlds different from killer in terms of difficulty and stress.
-
I've also stopped playing because of this, and I played it daily before. It's just sad to see the game in such an unplayable state.
-

I don't think it's lag cuz ping is mostly fine in my games.
You are probably on console and experience stuttering/short freezes too right?
Lag, freezes, whatever.
-
This is the best idea that hasn't been implemented for the longest time.
-
Sometimes. I can't believe people give up so easily in this game.
-
It shouldn't make the repairs quieter, it should make the sound of the gen quieter, including if other people are working on the gen with you. That's a viable perk right there, because the killer will have to come closer to hear if the gen is really being worked on or not.
-
Because people would lobby dodge I guess. But survivor ranks weren't viewable to killers until after the match, only fellow survivors could see them. So I don't agree with them taking it away.
-
I'd be disappointed too. Been a die hard fan for a while now, playing it almost every day. Then suddenly this freezing becomes a thing, and I refuse to play until it gets fixed, it's that bad. They really screwed the pooch this chapter.
-
Probably just Hag. Get a good feeling of choke points and you'll do good with her. The only advanced thing with her is knowing when to tp and when not to tp if a survivor has just dropped a pallet or vaulted and activated your trap, because they might stay there or they might go back over to avoid your tp hit.

The risk reward is kinda the balance of a totem perk though. If you were guaranteed a good spot devour and ruin would be insanely good
No it wouldn't. People can still memorize totem spots, especially with the new OP perk Counterforce.

You just got a down right at the start of the match from this. Seems fine to me.
What happens when a survivor doesn't feed the killer an immediate down?
-
They go down instantly every time, even against people who don't know the places for them, because they're so obvious. They need to not spawn right next to gens and places in the open!
-
Yes.
-
The corn had always been a design decision that I disagreed with. It makes seeing the other player, either killer or survivor, impossible even when you're very close to each other. It's like purple mist x5. They need to spread the corn out more or make their be less of it, or remove it.
-
This perk's time to get ready or its effect needs to be nerfed, or it needs to be a 1-time ability. This perk wastes way too much of the killer's time, gives zero indication to the killer that it's there, and can be done pretty much an infinite amount of times. All you have to do is work on gens, which you should be doing anyway, to have access to it, and it blinds AND stuns the killer which will lead to even more situations where survivors can finish the gen in the killer's face, even though the only thing he could do in that situation was to kick the gen.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
No, not strong in the slightest. It only wastes a marginal amount of the killers time.
A few seconds can be everything for killer. This wastes more than a few seconds of the killer's time, multiple times a match. I think it needs a nerf, not gonna lie.

Is there anything survivors do that doesn’t warrant toxic killer play styles? I mean let’s be real. Doing a gen at start of match is “gen rushing” lol. Running away is now somehow toxic. A map offering is bming. See where I’m going with this? 🤦♂️
Map offerings can give unfair advantages because some maps are straight up OP for survivors, and a few specific killer builds. I contemplate whether or not they have a place in the game still.
-
I also hate when survivors are immersed and rush gens instead of loop well and rush gens. If you're playing a 110% killer or Nurse, that's why you feel slow. Or if you're readying the killer's power and/or cancelling it a lot. But just in general, since the freezes started, it feels like there's micro-freezes maybe that stop you from catching up as quick as you should (this could be in my head though). If you're waiting 10 minutes for a killer match though, switch to survivor to see if it's faster, or play at a different time of day and see if it's faster, or surf the Internet on your phone while you're waiting to get into a lobby.
-
He's in a perfect place right now. Having him wait to swing after coming out of cloak, which already slows him down, would destroy him. That's why they've massively buffed the addon that makes him come out of cloak after kicking something. It used to make him wait after coming out of cloak before he could swing, and it didn't give him a speed boost from coming out of cloak like that. It was a dead add-on, but now with the buffs it's actually viable.

How people still refuse to read is beyond me.
Come up with your own sentences. Anyway...
You pretty much said Deathslinger is uncounterable because "if the killer doesn't mess up, they just win" which can be applied to any killer, but thankfully we're human and make mistakes constantly, not perfect computers, so you don't have to worry about uncounterable killers because they don't exist.
-
Yeah, people cry dead zones and I usually don't see it. It's like a 1 in 20 match type thing from my experience.
-
That's just not gonna happen. The SWF would have to throw out of their minds to lose that one.
-
They should love Twins because they've got a million problems. All you have to do is heal against Twins so you don't get slugged.

Because playing against him creates just as many issues. And survivors don't get a choice in who their killer is.
Getting hit by his power is not freezing your game anymore than any other killer's power. I would just stop playing until they fixed the freezes, and then they won't have to go out of the way to disable an entire killer when a fix is around the corner.

And yet there is no perk to completely counter BBQ. Isn't that ironic? And these perks are nowhere on the level of power as BBQ.
These perks are way more powerful than BBQ. BBQ gives information from you hooking someone, which is a reward for hard work. The flash grenades and blast mines are given to you by doing the very simple task of holding a button on a gen. Think of them as infinite fire crackers and uncounterable stuns at a gen. That's OP, not BBQ.
-
How people are still saying Deathslinger is uncounterable is beyond me.
-
Why disable him? Just don't play him!
-
Because people played bad or something and they get mad at you for it. There's literally people out there where you don't hit them on hook or shake your head or anything and they're like, "Wow, this guy plays like a #########." My own friends sometimes act like this, and I gotta call them out sometimes.
-
It's only annoying playing against them if they're a 4-man SWF.

Nope. What makes them unplayable is you can barely see scratch marks, auras, losing survivors easily in the corn. Huge maps with disgusting tile set ups.
That's not an unplayable map. Maps that are OP for survivors like Haddonfield and the farm maps may be a pain in the ass to play on, but you're not having issues like invisible walls and the game crashing. Scratch marks and auras are not that hard to see on those maps for me, but if they need to brighten them up specifically for that map, they should do it.
-
I've definitely made a lot of friends over DBD. But we don't really have a relationship outside of playing games together.
-
Nobody is saying you shouldn't be allowed to hold W. It's just stupid that it's the most effective way of wasting the killer's time.
-
Are y'all still on that "daylight in Dead By Daylight" argument? Dude, it's just a map. It's not unplayable just because it's daytime. This is "Trickster doesn't fit" all over again.

I think it’s a reflection on just how unhappy survivor players are. Instead of focusing on the penalty, the devs should figure out why one portion of their player base opts out of so many games. I know 8/10 games I play are miserable and i am not a newbie.
I think they're just giving up too easily. Survivors have crazy turnaround potential. It's crazy to see so many people DCing so early.
-
Instead of being humbled by the fact that they're the power role, they want to abuse the fact and bully the killer, and act like when they do basic stuff that they're gods among men.
-
Even though we've had a lot of progress in the last year or 2 of giving killers some actual power, I still think the game is survivor sided. You just can't compete with survivors who know how to do the gens efficiently.
-
Here's how I see this playing out. The devs put out 2 killers a year instead of 3 or 4, but the game health still doesn't improve very much because they'll work on their own time as they have and procrastinate.

Survivors do gens, it’s gen rushing lol. Survivors run, it’s toxic or hiding w. Survivors used to loop, bhvr removes half the pallets and boards up windows. Ds is too op, nerfed! It’s pathetic.
Nobody says holding W is toxic. It's just boring but efficient.

four killers are being used regularly in tournament play right now, they are Nurse, Blight, Hag, and Spirit. And I've seen all of these killers get 4ks in tournament environments.
Tournament play is not an indicator of how hard or easy something is. So your question of if killer is so easy why are there only 2 killers played in tournament doesn't make sense because regardless of how hard or easy something is, at a tournament level what is used is simply what is strongest regardless of how easy or hard it is. Nurse is the strongest killer right, she sees regular play in tournaments, does that mean that Nurse is the easiest killer in Dead by Daylight? The answer is rhetorical, so I'll answer it right now. No nurse is not the easiest killer, but she has the highest skill ceiling in Dead by Daylight, which means that she has the potential to be used in tournaments.
Also, note that the higher skill ceiling is with survivor and not killer. Which is the reason why survivors become more powerful, where most killers hit their skill ceiling, survivors don't. Survivor skill comes in being able to run an opponent who is faster than you, be able to understand each killer power and how to run each killer, and in being able to work together to work on generators; unhook safely; and protect each other in chase.
I'd say Nurse and Spirit are constantly used and the other 2 are niche, fun picks. Nurse is actually pretty easy to play. And I disagree, I think killer has a way higher skill ceiling than survivor. Most of your survivor gameplay consists of holding a button and sometimes looping which requires simply knowing where the killer is and being efficient with your movement. Killer, you have to keep track of gens, keep track of each survivor and how many times they've been hooked, mind game at the few loops that you can, interrupt heals and gen progress, etc.
-
I haven't been able to use the house loop once, and have gotten the map a total of 2 times since it was remastered. But it looks too strong, because once again breakable walls create god loops.

Killers are just cry babies. this forum is so killer sided that they don't want to admit it's so easy to play killer today.
If killer is so easy, why are only 2 killers played in tournament?

They never denied it. They acknowledged it but said they can’t reproduce it and need the community to help them.
if you don’t know something that’s okay. You don’t need to tell a story to make the devs looks worse than they are.
Oh, I don't tell the half of it. I've stopped playing the game because of the freezes. But I've got to hold my peace sometimes.
-
No, it's not. A lot of the "killer sided" things I say get shot down.
-
I still recommend not cleansing. She gets her 1 red fountain, and can't get anymore if y'all just don't cleanse.
-
I am very tired of ranged killers because all the survivors have to do is move left and right, and you can't hit them. And it's not like I'm gonna not play them just because they're ranged and survivors can do that. I like to play all killers. I just wish most of their powers weren't countered by left and right.

It’s clear that you are oversimplifying it.
there are people that get it more often and there are people that don’t get this bug at all. If it is so often for you you did provide the data in the thread when they asked the community for help, right?
I'm not on the forums all the time. I must have missed it. But they don't need to see it to believe it. A survivor is slugged and is silent. Boom, that's the bug. What they need to do is take that information and find what in their code could be causing that.

Show me where i wrote 'gamehealth chapters' here
In the title: "chapters". And then you wrote about game health. A chapter is a new killer and/or survivor and/or map. If there's none of those things, it's not a chapter.
