Why do people say reworked map are just dead zones?

I'm always confused to why people say the new maps are just "dead zones". Sure these are an issue on some maps. Shelter Woods, Azarov's Resting Place Suffocation Pit (Outside the center), Sanctum of Wrath, Wrecker's Yard, and Ormond. But, why do the ignore some disgusting maps like Badham Preschool example, House of Pain with fence window facing good pallet, into killer shack, into another good loop, into two story house. Badham doesn't have dead zones, The Game with nearly all god pallets, and the few windows being very good. Groaning Storehouse and Gas Heaven large maps with hard to reach gens some chainable loops and god main buildings, Family Residence with the main building next to two jungle gyms, and the other side killer shack next to another jungle gym and those gazebo loops also big map. Father Campbell's Chapel use to be balanced but with the Chapel's new god window unsure and loops leading into it, and Disturbed Ward. Still a strong main building, with the two jungle gyms next to a 4 line wall and T L wall with the option of shack or main building. And pallets to cover the other side. So, why do people only choose to focus on the Shelter Woods and not the Groaning Storehouses? Also, forgot to mention good ole Fractured Cowshed.

  • Dead zones are necessary filler, otherwise we would have pallet after pallet after pallet.

Which already isn't fun to deal with on The Game, so I don't see why it would be fun on any other map.

  • The ones you mentioned are the issues. Every map that gets reworked comes back better for killers and much worse for survivors. Less pallets, windows gone or boarded up, and these weird dead zones with nothing. Like farm maps. There’s 3-4 sections with just hay and teepees. With a faster killer and range attacks, those areas are a death sentence.

    tell that to the game

Tell that to coldwind, it got it's bad tree loops replaced with very good unmindgameable hay loops.

Not to mention the breakable walls that got added to some of the main buildings.

Did you literally just ignore Badham preschool? A map that's commonly an easy survivor win

  • Yeah, people cry dead zones and I usually don't see it. It's like a 1 in 20 match type thing from my experience.

  • It can be any map but reworked maps tend to be reworked into dead zones, this is a 360 screenshot of where I spawned using windows of opportunities, 0 pallets...and the only ''loopable'' building is a jungle gym far away that you can see on the screenshot on the right.

    windows of opportunities, 0 pallets.

Personal experience it's been split. While yes on some maps deadzones are issues that need fixing. It's important not to ignore the maps like Badham which some like Van choose to ignore.

  • Some of them really do have deadzones that you can or should never be near but they've done better at preventing them I wanna say

And it's fine If they want to remove pallets but take a look at this other example, absolutely nothing there, they could at least put some rocks/tires or even bushes in there so that you can at least try to hide or something, there is nothing you can do on a dead zone like this one. Seriously I'll try to loop a rock with no pallets nearby just give us something...this is a waste.

  • Every single map update has made it easier for survivors and harder for killers save Swamp and Ormond. That doesn't mean they are all as bad as Haddonfield, or that the game wasn't killer sided before, but the map design philopshy runs between balanced and heavily survivor sides maps now. Some of which completley shut down some ranged killers.

The maps imo are one of the biggest reasons killers are having a rough time right now, despite any changes to perks or abilities its the map design which is the problem.

  • I'm not sure why people would say that reworked maps specifically are dead zones. Maps can either be dead or absolutely stacked based off of RNG.

  • Some people need to run windows of opportunity more.

Or just get a grip and stop crying about deadzones they chose to run into while leaving strong set up

If you want to do gens, you got no choice.

  • I run sprint burst for those. Some gens are in the middle of nowhere and some are in a very strong set ups. You can't have all of them the same
