  • if DH gets nerfed, then killer mains will complain about SB. if SB gets nerfed, then killer mains will complain about lithe. and the complaints will go on forever with no end in sight. its not hard to imagine, i mean damn you got people here complaining about head-on lmao

So I've heard alot of people say that you don't really need slowdown perks. Scott jund has even c said downing Survivors is the beat gen regression you can have. So I've been playing demo with no slowdown.

Its been bad unless I'm playing baby Survivors it doesn't matter how fast or frequent I don't Survivors gens still fly.

My last match I was at 5 gens and had 4 hooks with minute 50 it was 1 gen 6 hooks. Now to be fair I did spend 20 seconds at a gen that bbq said there was a survivor but thats including walking there to right before getting back into chase. This was the most extreme chase but they have all been about the same even when adding pressure by downing without some fourm of gen slowdown it doesn't seem to matter how good I do gens are going to finish everytime.

imo what scott said is kinda ignorant. of course you don't need slowdown perks if you're decent at blight/nurse/spirit with MDR + DCB, and it also depends on the map. to say that a trapper/deathslinger/wraith dont need slowdown perks is just silly at this point.

  • @Pulsar said:

The last three were Eyrie of Crows (bad), RPD (the worst) and Midwich (bad)

how is midwich bad? it's probably the easiest map to deal with as the killer, and i never end up with less than 2 kills.. what?

  • solo q do be like that mang, bubba is by far the easiest and predictable (more so with bamboozle) killer to run and yet my teammates go down the instant they're found, like damn man at least run the bubba for 2 gens so he'll end up with 1k every game. arghhhh

  • @Chaos999 said:

    I see

Thanks to everyone for your answers and insight. I look forward to further input on this map so hopefully I can do better with the killers I use the most.

So far I surmise that I would probably do better once I start getting a hang on blight, which is nice.

just slap on 4 slowdown perks for blight and it'll be easy games for ya, since you won't need to learn all those fancy hug moonwalk moonshine flicks

  • there's very few completely safe pallets and a lot of pallets that can be mindgamed/bloodlusted, small map so its easy to traverse with every killer, starstruck nurse, hag, blight on it is kinda busted, need i say more? same goes to dead dawg saloon.

Most killer sided map though? definitely shelter woods, i once had windows of opportunity and open handed, and i counted exactly 8 pallets in the map, so if you lose on shelter woods, its kinda embarassing.

You can tell if the Survivor is staring at his feet while he hides around walls.

what? i play native and i do that especially with the male survivors... guess im a filthy stretched user

  • @CashelP14 said:

Sure the last 2 new killers had scoruge hooks so it makes sense.

Basically the devs found a new mechanic which is really interesting and want to have some fun with it. I'm really happy we're getting new scrouge and boon perks.

monstrous shrine is the OG scourge hook 😌

  • @Ryan489x said:

After Ms Reid and her two boons the two new survivors each have one. that's a full boon loadout now if you play all 4 of them.

I hope this isn't becoming the norm.

wished they would stop adding scourge hooks and add more chase perks, maybe the ability to destroy an undropped pallet based on a condition would be nice, or after getting stunned by a pallet, gain a 5% haste speed for 3 seconds, idk, anything really

  • haven't really played the ptb but they better not touch the fps cap or vsync.. 60 fps on a 144hz monitor is literally eye burning

But then you play Daddy Trickster/Nemesussy and find yourself playing against the hold W squad of the century

    bigger sadge

tears are coming out of my eyes when you mentioned that particular squad ;_; but at least you don't have to worry too much about dead hard as trickster..

  • @NOEDENJOYER said:

She's still an M1 killer against survivors who do not cleanse and even though she ignores COH's existence, the presence of DH alone is still enough of a deterrent from me wanting to play her.

tried playing as plague, ended up in red forest where not a single soul cleansed... went back to trickster/nemo soon after.

    sadge

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I quess people like enjoying 50 shades of Blight.

hell yeah im happy nurse is gone for a while, you won't believe how many games i've had with this woman who makes noises that i gotta volume down man. hey at least blight still gotta respect shack pallet yknow so blight aint too bad compared to nurse 😂

  • @Clevite said:

    Lucky me.

I just have to drop 2 million on Ace to pad that inventory!!!

yo ace main? i've got 200 flashlights yellow green purple combined on ace baby

  • @NOEDENJOYER said:

How are you supposed to play killer and enjoy it? Every single game you're faced with a healing boon, four DH's and back to back safe pallets on large maps that make downing survivors an actual chore and miserable task.

You managed to injure a survivor, but make the wise choice to leave them because they're at a strong structure, or to defend a specific generator? Well, don't worry, for all your efforts that injured survivor will become healthy in less than 30 seconds, even though it probably took you that exact time to injure them. And the best part is, there's nothing you can do. Want to go break the boon? Enjoy sacrificing precious generator pressure to remove the boon for a mere 30 seconds before it's inevitably replaced and you've gained nothing as a result.

Did you manage to outplay a survivor? Well don't worry, they'll simply press E to the safe pallet and reset the entire chase. Don't forget that on any large map, you'll face survivors who will hold W for a solid minute before you can even think about getting past their DH and the countless safe pallets they have back to back.

Are you struggling to apply pressure because the survivors have an infinite pool of healing via the boon and their second chance perks? Well, suck it up, because that's fair. But don't even think about tunnelling, or camping, because you're scum if you do that.

Playing killer is so fundamentally unfun against these two perks. COH promotes a tunnelling, camping & nasty playstyle since you can no longer use hit & run tactics. DH makes every chase twice as longer as it should do because it practically grants a survivor with a third health state.

I've been a killer main since 2019, and I can firmly say the existence of COH & DH has tanked any enjoyment I have for the killer role. I've been playing survivor and been having a blast at how easy it is, even in solo queue.

Anyone else feel the same way?

whenever i get clapped playing trapper or wraith, i just switch to the good ol trickster and have a good time :) you prolly should too

Hi, I play on console. That means I play with a controller. Due to the new boil over I can barely move when I pick up a survior with this perk. I have played this game for years. I know how to make the wiggle work in your favor if you lean into it. But with these new changes to boil over it does not matter what I do, I can barely move. I'm sure I'm not the only console killer experiencing this. Every game if someone has boil over I cannot hook them. Ar first I thought they were cheating. I legitimately thought the survior was cheating because I could barely move. But no, its every game.

This is ridiculous and is exclusively an issue on console. This needs to change.

in pc i would move my camera down and only use the A-D movement keys and it feels like boil over makes me faster. maybe you could translate this to console? right joystick down, left joystick only move left and right?

  • @Mtom912 said:

the only 'nerf' she should get is revert back to the double stun on pallet stuns, to actually reward playing pallets vs nurse

otherwise the only thing she needs is fixes for blink deadzones etc

    @sizzlingmario4 said:

I don’t have a problem with nurses blinking into the ground.

I do think the stun + fatigue on a pallet stun should be brought back though.

no fatigue after getting stunned is such a monkey brain move by the devs... if the nurse plays sweaty and has double recharge addons, you literally make zero distance from the stun. guess that's why people play blight/nurse/huntresses, they have received nothing but buffs the past year.

  • @Pepsidot said:

I'm wondering what others think about nerfing Nurse so that she cannot look down with a blink and cover less distance (hopefully you understand what I mean). Once upon a time Nurse's HAD to commit to their first blink's distance. This meant if they held their first blink fully they would blink quite far away and the only way they could stop this is if they blinked at an unpassable wall.

Nowadays good Nurse's take advantage of how she can blink downwards, so that they can cover less distance. Meaning when a survivor double backs to mindgame, she can correct and mitigate her otherwise long held blink distance by looking down.

Would it be fair if we remove that possibility so that Nurse's HAVE to commit to their first blink's actual distance, leaving more room for mindgames (double backing would be more effective) and less room for the Nurse to correct themselves?

**NOTE**: This wouldn't remove her ability to blink up and down floors. And although the nerf would apply to second blinks too, in reality it would only really force Nurse's to commit to their first blink's distance because they can hold their second blink for long enough to become fatigued anyway. This change would increase her skill ceiling even more and would allow for more counter play (AKA double backing being more rewarded when the Nurse is not expecting it).

i dunno man, the nerf would be nice, but it's funny as hell seeing them blink down into the basement/bottom floor 😂

  • you're half right. blight/nurse takes little skill when you're stacked up on slowdown perks on extremely mobile killers/ignore loops. i've got mad respect for lilithomen tho, guy runs only shadowborn and bbq and still manages to dominate.

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2804285#Comment_2804285

Dunno what you mean, Nurse is the most well designed killer in the game, and the one with the most direct skill to reward relation for both the killer and survivor.

most direct skill to reward relation? bro blight takes more skill than her, all u gotta do is learn the nurse blink range and you're golden 😂. with blight there are many things to learn to disable a loop. i dont even want to play nurse since i got good with her, its too easy.

  • imagine if blight gets killswitched too 😌

  • rejoice for not playing against nurses for a while woohoo

  • if you play solo, bring a map with the crystal bead + detective's hunch. easiest counter to noed in your life and killer will get salty in the end :)

  • nurse definitely needs some looking at. remember, she was released when survivors were much stronger back then.

spirit is fine now, she's more fair, but the only thing she needs is a nerf to MDR + DCB addon combo. thats it.

blight? would it be fair to make him a 110% killer and completely remove alch ring and blighted crow? 110% usually only for ranged killers, but blight's power is extremely mobile and it wouldn't really hurt him.

  • killers are getting desperate and only tunnel these days; DS and BT is a necessity.

  • why is it so hard for the devs to fix this map? literally just add a hook at the downstairs library and remove those stupid 2 hooks up there that makes killers able to bodyblock, and it'll fix people abusing the upstairs by not getting hooked.

  • @Pulsar said:

    I would support this change.

Also, a QoL update to Dead Man's Switch. Have it block the gen only if all Survivors get off of it. Currently, if two people are repairing and one lets go, it's blocked. That's dumb.

a good trade off for a massive buff and synergy. but you'll still have people begging devs not to do this

  • sure, at low mmr. otherwise, get stomped on and camp like the rest for a 1k 😂

  • shouldn't you be happy? everyone loves an easy game!

  • @ad19970 said:

The healing speed is the problem. If it just gave survivors the ability to heal at the same speed as self care, it wouldn't be a problem. Hell, some people argue Self Care is a killer perk.

The problem is that the extra healing speed of Circle of Healing just takes too much possible map pressure from the killer away. Spreading damage suddenly becomes much less effective. It's a joke of a perk, and I can't even get mad at killers that camp or tunnel me anymore because of it. Because it pretty much just encourages those strategies.

same speed as self care then it wouldn't be a problem? lol then throw that perk in the lightweight bin.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

Can someone please advise me how I could have performed better here? 2 downs with corrupt/ruin up and still lost a gen. Make it make sense please and thank you.

    https://youtu.be/pxCBPx1H2g4

you're playing as freddy. go play nurse or blight then you'll have all the 4ks u need :)

  • It's so easy to counter a 3 gen nowadays that killers shouldn't even bother with the strategy. split up on gen, put CoH far but not too far, get hit and heal, then go back, rinse and repeat. it's a war of attrition at this point, and it favors the survivors more. without CoH yeah, it'd be a viable strategy, but i'm glad it's here because it's by far as boring as getting camped 😂

Why does a killer's power or add-ons need penalties? Why can't they just be good?

Do you believe that 7 blink nurse is fair?

  • I don't think I've ever seen a Blight playing with no addons + no slowdown perks. Not trying to imply anything, just an observation.

  • there are several ways to counter the instakill. always assume myers has the tombstone piece (if he gets to tier 3 quite early) and force him to grab/lunge at you by hopping into a locker, vault and holding onto gens.

I have a low-end pc, and I'm able to play dbd with a software called low specs experience.

It gave me enough fps to be able to play.

you use the premium one? recent update dropped my frames by 120 to 100fps..

  • @mad_hatter said:

Why, after I am sacrificed, am I not allowed to see the perks and add ons the Killer has been using? If I want to know, I have to wait for the match to finish...

I play solo (sad times...). I get that an SWF could then share this info with each other, but the game must know that I'm not SWF. Besides, I don't like the fact that SWFs can communicate anyway, but it is what it is, I get it, but nobody seems worried about them communicating in game, so why are we worried about them sharing the Killer's perk info? Or is there some other reason for players to not be allowed to see the perks?

it's pretty easy to guess the killer's perks mid game. if you can't identify the last perk, its probably noed.

  • not a dev but i don't think it's as powerful as many thought it'd be. sure it has some good synergy with PR but once it's blocked you can't PGTW the gen, right? the counterplay seems to be letting go of a gen right when a survivor is getting hooked, and then continuing it to recover the 15% and only then do you go for the save.

Not so much hard to see coming but take a tenth of the skill to use. Just run up and drop it near the killer = guaranteed blind. At least you need to somewhat aim with a flashlight.

I disagree, flashbangs/firecrackers are harder to get saves on because of the earlier timing you need which means you have to be really close to the killer. only advantage it does give tho is that you can get saves when killer's facing a wall. plus firecrackers make a loud noise when dropped, it'll be hard to catch a killer off-guard when they're coming around a corner. dont know about flashbang sounds though.

    I liked @WesCravenFan's idea.

Remove Killer collision after a set amount of time without moving, perhaps two minutes, same as the time it takes for the full sacrifice to complete.

This solves both the AFK Pig exploit and bodyblocking hostage scenarios

Yeah I saw a suggestion like that in the other thread but what would that achieve really. killer's collision gets removed but they can still interrupt or grab you while at the box :|

  • I don't want the iri addon to get nerfed considering that pigs can still do this afk strat without any addons but with the added effort of downing a survivor. even otzdarva faced against an afk pig like this. honestly i don't know how you would fix this without causing much harm to the pig's passive power.

maybe have the searched boxes be able to be re-searched if the pig is staying at your last box? i'm not sure how hard that would be to code, but removing collisions is definitely not the way to go about it.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

Not calling anyone's bluff, but im yet to run into one of these killers - yet to run into a pig, as a matter of fact

consider yourself lucky. in the asia region its becoming somewhat of a trend now.

  • @Heartbound said:

I've tried to warn people for years. I'm just sayin'.

Yeah. It only takes one content creator with a decent amount of followers. Solo queuing survivor is something I do quite often and it's a miserable experience. I thought a facecamping bubba would be worse, but at least you have a chance to run him for the entire game. This one is by far the most aggravating thing to experience. You're already dead from the start. Sounds like a good premise for a movie haha.

  • @deKlaw_04 said:

This was pretty hilarious. As soon as David went down in the basement it was a lost cause. I knew he was gonna get camped so I worked on a gen. Then Steve goes down there for some reason a gets downed😒. all 3dced on hook and I found hatch but damn. I was solo but the mikela and Steve were together idk how you screw up that much. Sometimes it’s not even you, it’s your team

    https://youtu.be/hhSPOgekGFo

Easiest killer to loop, impossible to escape once facecamped..

  • Greed pallets and don't make him get tier 3 too fast. Tier 3 makes him the same speed as survivors and it'd be harder to run T-L walls.

  • @Barbarossa2020 said:

    Survivors body blocking = strategy.

Killers Body blocking = abusing mechanics.

there's no counter to killers body blocking. i once found a feng min in a corner and body blocked her for 5 gens and egc. thankfully they were all solo q so they didn't know that they could keep me hostage. never felt so dirty in a vid game in my life

  • @StarLost said:

So generally play a few games of survivor in the morning these days, to ease myself in.

For the last...maybe week or so, I'd say 1 in 5 killers I've faced has been completely AFK from the start. Sometimes definitely automated (crouch...attack...crouch...attack) sometimes just standing there.

    Anyone else seen something similar?

No I don't think you're unlucky, I've had em as well.

  • @Aurelle said:

Genuine question. Every time I go against him I can't get away from him because of his knives. What is his counterplay?

The only counterplay to him are... wait there aren't any besides being lucky with map selection. If you're on autohaven wreckers, it's already a lost cause for survivors.

  • seems like an average trapper game to me
