Do you remember how much this perk was broken on SWF teams and BHVR did not nerf it for years. Because they said "OoO users are dying most times, this perk does not help them".
Just gold old days.
wished they didnt make it useless like it is now.

The threads about killer being unfun and weak is getting old. Killers are not leaving either. Right now survivors are much faster to get in matches than killers during the peak of the day.
There has been 6 years of constant and unrelenting survivor nerfs to the extent that experienced killers practically never lose now because the game is so broken in favor of killer.
If you are not winning, all that can really be said is to git gud. Stop crying to BHVR to make the game easy for you. Survivors are practically spawning in the dying state as we speak.
And lastly, if you think killer is hard, please play solo matches. You will experience the hardest, most unfair, and most impossible thing in any video game. Survivors are extremely disadvantaged and this is why the game is losing its momentum. It is definitely not because "killers are weak".
i agree with the killers complaining to git gud. i mean, look at all the killer main content creators, all the vids and streams that they have are just 4k over and over and over again. otz gets 4k with trapper every game lol

I need everyone’s opinion on this cause this is kind of tricky. Do you think the Ringu Chapter Flopped or didn’t? I think it did cause everyone has stopped talking about Sadako and her impact isn’t as big as Michael Freddy, PH or nemesis.
the fact that the player count didn’t even go up on a LICENSED character, and that no one is talking about her anymore. I need your opinions
I have never encountered her in my games. then again, it could be because i play this game rarely now, 2 to 3 matches of survivor when i do.

The nerf is irrelevant. The only fix for boons is to allow the killer to break a totem and/or destroy the boon.
Glad you're not part of the balance team then. That is a stupid change to make and boons would be useless. Unless there's a survivor perk that makes boons longer to snuff out just like toth...
-
bhvr: nerfed nurse by putting a cooldown on nurse blinks
also bhvr: hey let's add an addon combo to remove said cooldown
yeah nurse is stale to play against. all run the same addons and perks just like blights.

In all the DH threads, survivors have most graciously pointed out that SB is so much better for them than DH.
I never realized how 70% or 80% of survivors are deliberately using an inferior perk, to give us killers a chance! From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Or...wait. How many of you own monocles and Victorian fainting couches? Hold them tight and pull them near, respectively, because I've heard another theory:
...
...
DH is actually much, much better than SB for many reasons explained at length, and survivors' dire warnings about using SB are a bad faith deflection to avoid a DH nerf!
Which is more likely, friends?
sprint burst can be better than DH, especially against insta down killers such as bubba in a dead zone. its just that DH is always more reliable and in your control.

Im seriously so disgusted atm, like it took them 6 seconds to escape without me even dropping from anywhere
and you wonder why people don't want to play against SWF, and of course the game sent me to the Saloon which just gave them more advantage
i was mainly doing my rituals so didn't exactly care about them escaping or perks, but seriously how do u expect any killer to not play toxic when people like these dogs exist
saloon is killer sided.

We all know BHVR loves to buff survivors so now swf is also getting easier (again). It might be okay for you for now, but please don't come in here and complain about the queue times if they reach above 15 minutes for a survivor game.😂
killer mains have been saying that since 2017, and my queue time hasn't changed at all. i think the problem is you lots seem to think the universe revolves around you.

The stress isn't worth it anymore lol, literally get forced to camp and tunnel because all gens get done in 5 mins (with gen defense perks). Injure everyone and they're healed in a minute thanks to the unlimited COH (COH is basically a fifth perk for all survivors). Maps like "the game" still exist, literally a god pallet map lol. And map designs like "Macmillan Estate" where survivors literally get a jungle gym into TL into another jungle gym, right next to each other lol (a set up balanced around 10 hour newbie survivors). Oh yeah and the notorious second chance perks survivors get, what's even the point of mind gaming and outplaying them when they can just Dead Hard to a pallet. And don't forget the best survivor perk "discord". It's such a joke that the killer has to sweat their balls off to win while the other side has always been a chill experience. No wonder we're getting AFK killers purposely trying to lower their MMR in order to actually have fun. But i won't go AFK, i quit instead lol. Hope i contribute to the long queue times survivors get, cuz yet another killer main leaves the role.
who or what exactly "forces" you to camp and tunnel?

With the amount of complaints about tunneling camping and nerf "flavor of the month"killer that survivors commonly post, I'd say it's pretty even with the amount of complaints killers post. Killers at least put up better arguments than the typical survivor arguments of "it's boring".
only difference is that the devs actually listened to the killer posts and nerfed CoH, with DH on the way. what did devs do for camping/tunnelling? absolutely nothing. i swear if anyone thinks the devs are survivor sided, they're complete fools.
-
survivors running and walking is too op. please nerf them to stand still

dead hard getting rendered useless like CoH, will lead to a lot of 4k nurse matches. and you know everyone gon be a sweaty nurse main when it happens 😂

Killer-sided?
Deadhard - the most OP Perk i have ever seen - or as we call it: Press E to win.
Boon CoH - another OP-Perk which makes killer like Legion or Wraith useless
Bodyblocking, Sabotage.... etc. I can easily write down more.
One more: Almost every map is hardcore survivor-sided. Only Racoon, Midwich and MAYBE Yamaoko is a bit better for killers.
What do have killers? Noed. Thats it.
can't tell if this is bait. what do killer have? plenty of good perks. ruin, dms, pain res, starstruck/mad grit to counter bodyblocks, myc + floods of rage, no way out, you name it pal.
what are the meta survivor perks now since CoH got gutted? same old 4 as usual.

they never listen to survivors.Like y'all keep giving great and good perks to killers then we get "injured survivors can see your aura and you heal 10% faster" Yall needa be 50/50 with your community
What's next,adding a cooldown to boons 🤣
As someone who's been around since the early stages of the game, yeah, now the game is killer sided, and it hurts my head how some killer mains here say it is a miserable experience. can't please everyone I suppose.
-
@Alen_Starkly said:
Dear devs, I really think you have missed the real problem with CoH. It is not the healing speed, it is that there is NO cooldown. The killer can snuff out the totem, go away, and the survivor who was hiding nearby can instantly rebless it. Adding a cooldown would prevent survivors from just booning in the killer's face, and would actually have to strategically boon at a place that is unlikely for the killer to patrol.
If you are careless with where/when you boon, then you have to wait until the cooldown is over.
"instantly rebless it". please play survivor for once, because i think you've got that backwards. can't believe people would still complain about this. this has become a killer perk now, much like self care.
-
@MilManson said:
They're nerfing the part of the perk which isn't even overpowered, the ability to do it over and over despite being snuffed out a billion times it can be used again is the overpowered part.
It could have 100% speed before I care just give the ability to destroy totems after snuffing it.
And here it is, someone still complaining about a perk thats been nerfed two damn times. lmao. trust me man, the healing speed was definitely the more powerful part of it, you do realise it takes like a million years to set up a boon and killer just snuff it in 1 microsecond?
-
Guess BHVR has made enough money from Mikaela. Toss this perk to the bin.
Honestly there has been too many survivor nerfs lately, I think I'll just become a killer main and enjoy all the buffs. Sigh.

I understand that the devs mentioned that they're looking into it, but goodness playing killer is so draining.
The amount of times I was able to pull off a nice mind game only for it to be denied by DH really is infuriating.
Killer mains out there now have my full respect.
I remember someones' suggestion a while back by either removing its distance or invulnerability and I think that was a pretty nice idea.

Gift of pain actually is threatening now cause of hemorrhage removing your progress.

People realised that you had to have an ounce of skill as her when Ruin/Undying/Pop/Tinkerer Crow/Ring Blight was right there so they all migrated to continue thinking they're good at the game while the people that were actually good as Spirit in the first place stayed.
Notice how this is a consistent pattern, too. First we had Nurse, with her 4 blink no downside combo. She was hit, and they dropped like flies (and now she's finally had the bugs fixed, people still aren't playing her as much as they used to because she still takes effort now). Spirit was next, she got hit (not even hard) but everyone still cried nerf and moved to Freddy, who was substantially easier and only minorly weaker. He was hit next so, realising that Spirit still took no brain power when playing with the strongest things, they all went back to her, culminating in the IW change to Stridor and finally the overall Spirit nerf, meaning they all moved to Blight now. I'm sure if he ever gets hit, though, they'll realise that DCB/MDR exists as a combo and once more we'll be seeing the Rise Of The "Spirit Mains".
as a combo? i thought these 2 were the only addons that spirit has Kappa

I feel you...kinda.
- Camping has always been an issue, but while I do see it way, way too much - 'always' is hyperbole. Camping is about as much fun for the killer as it is for everyone else. BHVR are working on a fix.
- Uh...CoH is still brokenly OP. You shouldn't be able to heal mid chase as a duo with any perks. Boil Over...I'm not sure why you'd defend that one. Being completely unhookable from certain spots on certain maps basically enabled survivors to stall matches out indefinitely, unless you wanted to stare at a slug for ages. Why do you think Boil Over was fine, exactly?
- Who? Cenobite? They already nerfed him, and I never saw much of him at all.
- SBMM is also due for a fix soon. A lot of this is caused by backfill.
- Grind - yup. But another one due for a fix soon.
- I'm not sure what you mean by the meta being set in stone. Survivors...well, yes, but that has to do with how nuts CoH, DH and IW are. You're playing the game wrong if you don't have at least DH. The killer meta has never been as diverse as it is now. You've got CoB+PGTW, PR+Agi, PR+DMS, Ruin+Undying, even Plaything+Pentimento see some use. Then you've got plenty of other useful perks. You see BBQ a lot because of BP, not because it's particularly useful on many killers.
I agree that this game needs a shaking up, but I don't think that leaving Boil Over as a gigantic key to the trollmobile was the way to do it. I'd reckon that this mid-chapter is going to have a lot of very interesting changes.
i highly doubt they're talking about pinhead.
-
same here, well except work is taking most of my time nowadays, but i play one match of survivor and its always been a boring experience with nurse, blights, and bubbas. i'd rather watch the game than play it now

Shadowborn doesn't increase vertical FoV, stretched res and shadowborn is entirely different things.
And no, people playing 23 killers are always the majority, stretched res doesn't benefit majority of killers while literally removes mindgames from survivors, it's objectively broken on survivor's side.
Have you even tried stretched res on killer? or at all? Yes I know shadowborn and resolution are two different things, however, i don't know how to put it into words, stretched res on killer really does look much better, likewise on survivor. I would use stretched on both sides but considering i now have work to do on my main monitor, it'd be a chore changing one resolution to another after playing DBD, so i've gotten used to native.
Take a look at some of these vids of how stretched res benefits killers, and i dare say more than survivors:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBNDkw1l-H0stretched res on a killer narrows the angle of getting flashlight blinded. situational? yeah. but you can say the same for survivors because not all tiles can be looked over. i clearly have to emphasize that survivors' advantage from stretched res is only in very, very few tiles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmpvjfwE43M
look at this blight, its as if he's not following the animation of looking down when injecting himself.
i'm not advocating for cheating in dbd, but coming from games like tf2 and csgo, more customizations in your config is almost never a bad thing.
-
@fulltonon said:
Vertical FOV for killers are useless BTW, two killers out of 25 or so is nothing.
considering that that 2 out of 25 killers are the best and most common killers, i wouldn't say it's nothing. it would be nice to play blight without having to lock yourself with only 3 perks.

Not "everyone", only for the less experienced survivors. I thoroughly enjoyed escaping a Spirit. The dodges, the guessing (for once survivors have to guess the same way a killer needs to), it was a thrill. Now I don't care, it's way less interesting. Granted, only the most inept survivors have trouble with it now, so I guess a lot of people are happy.
I think a lot of people are happy not because of them being inept, but rather the constant, repetitive, standing still at pallet miNDgAme is no longer in the game. Only way to avoid that standing still bs was to bring a flashlight, and it's not like you could bring it every game.
-
@drsoontm said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2821188#Comment_2821188
Quite the opposite IMHO. Before, survivors had to learn to hit great skill checks and survive a 5 blinks Nurse (among other horrors).
Now many killers have been nerfed with a sledgehammer (not saying that 5-blinks Nurse was right) and Spirit, who wasn't that much of a problem when you knew how to handle her has lost her charm (from both sides). Survivors have so many second, third, ... chances (I've stopped counting) they rely on DH to extend their poor looping skills and the real good ones are just a nightmare to handle.
Spirit before was broken as hell and everyone knows it. Still, they can be back to their overpowered state with the classic add-on combo which I'm sure you already know.
-
if anything the removal of stretched res would hurt the killrate, because nurse and blight heavily benefits from it more than survivors; survivors can only use stretched res to their advantage only in certain tiles.
-
@landromat said:
It used to be spirit because of her stupid Mechanics, Now it's Huntress and Blight. Against huntress you never know if she'll hit you behind the corner. Because of the latency and hitbox sizes it's almost impossible to move right and not get hit
Blight has so many exploits you never feel safe. Good blight can hit you almost on every tile and there is no good counterplay for that.
Terrible flawed and boring killers
against a good huntress that never misses i just don't bother trying to zig zag serpentine maneuver especially if they've got babushka addons that'll let them down a survivor in less than 5 secs. just keep looping a high wall pallet and never drop it, more often than not, no matter how good they are, they'll waste more than a minute trying to down you, giving enough time for your team to gen rush in her face. this strategy always ends up with a 2k or a close to 2k game.
against a good blight? well, you better hope you don't end up in midwich or shelter woods.

NOW it is. Ruin was nerfed, what, two years ago? That's two years of pretending DH's issues don't exist. Now that they've announced it, just how long do you think it'll take for them to actually DO anything about it? Six months? Another year? For reference, look how long it took them to address keys after the mori change.
well, even if it did took a year to address keys, i'd say keys definitely got the short end of the stick bro. its so pathetic i don't ever see any randomers bringing keys anymore. its completely ruined. but moris still allow killers to skip DS/pallet or flashlight save on their second hook.

@Leachy_Jr said:
Now that we know what type of boon perks BHVR wants due to boon: dark theory, and what the counterplay to boons should be, we can see how circle of healing throws a wrench in the whole thing.
The counterplay to boons is (obviously) hearing when the boon gets placed, seeing where the boon may be based on survivor locations, hearing the chimes when near it, and then snuffing out the totem.
This is where Circle screws everything up. Every other boon in the game requires the killer to be nearby to get value from, circle of healing is the ONE boon perk that works even if the killer is on the opposite end of the map. Most likely, the killer will never hear the boon because good survivors will know to lead the killer away from it.
In order for CoH to be even remotely fair and balanced it either:
- Needs a condition to only work when the killer is nearby (how that would make sense I do not know)
- Or the effect itself is insignificant enough that the killer doesn't care that it's up (which currently, giving the entire team free medkits is borderline gamebreaking)
- Or finally, the perk needs a complete overhaul to be either completely different, or have vastly different mechanics.
The easy/least effort needed way to fix it is by making the effect much weaker than it is now. Probably by removing the ability to self care entirely or make the self care time the normal time of 32 seconds.
As for the other methods of reworking it, I have no clue what that would look like.
I know circle of healing was likely released due to Mikaela being a solo survivor DLC and there needed to be a reason to buy it (much similar to what happened with Ash and Mettle of man), but it's seriously one of the things ruining matches right now for most people and needs major changes fast. Especially because low tier killers feel absolutely AWFUL to play with 1 active in the match.
The easy/least effort needed way to fix it is by making the effect much weaker than it is now. Probably by removing the ability to self care entirely or make the self care time the normal time of 32 seconds.
hell no man, why tf would anyone run CoH then? that'll be a perk that will throw the game if u got teammates constantly self caring for 32 seconds.
just give it a damn cooldown and it'll be fine, no need to nerf this perk to obscurity. hit and run playstyle by the killers is annoying as ######### if the gen is in a deadzone and CoH is needed to counter 3 gen strats, or at least shorten the match duration if the killer decides to camp the last three gens.
