One of the countless consequences of Freddy's failure of a rework, was ruining his identity.

I agree completely. I remember anticipating the release of the rework. I was so excited. Had my daughter download the update while I was at work. And then. 3 games later i shelved him.

The only killer adept i have. The killer who got me into this game isn't even level 50 yet. The only enjoyment i get from him when i play are the dream pallets.

If a picture could collect dust, freddy would be buried. I am sad.

  • I think what ds needs is for scratch marks and bloodpools to be hidden after using DS. The survivor would have a better chance of escaping the killer, thus making it a true anti tunnel perk.

  • A lot has to do with the player base also. Got a voice message from a survivor who sounded like he was 10 years old. I had mopped the floor with his team. He was last alive so i dropped him on hatch and he crawled away. So i clised hatch and hooked him.

Messeged him, why didn't you take the hatch?

He replied, my friend died i die, stupid.

I was like, wow, i was being nice.

He replied no you were dumb.

They were both rank 20 and maybe new, but crap like that makes me not want to be nice. Then when you get matched up with people well beyond your skill level, they make fun of you. If you happen to win a challenging game against people your equal, you are toxic.

There is no winning whether you play well or not. Makes playing killer not fun for many.

    Edgy.

Ormond is fine tho, you should have no problem playing on Ormond. Since the Rework, the Map is alright for Killer.

Except on console, scratches are very hard to see really.

  • Not taking sides, but comparing the 2 is nonsense. The breakdown thing is intentionally caused by people purposely bringing that perk. The pallet stun is here because of the code. Only way to avoid it happening is for killers to not try swinging through the pallets. Which they always did even when getting stunned.

  • @Sleem said:

You could be running perks/offerings passively in the background that might be contributing to getting keys. For example, offerings that increase luck for all survivors in the trial. That raises your chances of getting higher-rarity loot in chests. I tested this myself.

I recall it said that luck offerings don't effect the chests. Only unhooks and traps.

  • I get this every time. Usually the second time it is fine. Only time it doesn't is if i switch to it from a different game. But if i turn on the system and start DBD up it 'takes too long'.

    Not a huge deal though

  • Just upset that sunny family cult didnt get picked for a legion skin

  • Same way killers are supposed to get gen and window grabs. Sheer luck or farming.

  • The worst part from survivors side was the aura reading. The worst part for freddy was the dream transition and not being able to do anything with awake survivors especially during end game.

My idea, keep teleporting. When a survivor is pulled into dream world, all sleeping survivors auras are revealed for 3 (time is up for debate) seconds.

When the last generator is complete, survivors fall asleep and can not wake up.

Dream pallets base kit. (They arent strong but they are super fun)

  • I leave the person with the trap on alone, unless i happen to come across them in my travels. Then I'll hit them and move on. It defeats the purpose of the trap to follow a trapped survivor

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

But like....why would you need to pick everyone since you won't use 90% if the survivors (killers are a bit different).

I like to use certain perk loadouts on certain characters. For instance, Tapp is about annoying the killer (not that im good at it), zarina is my runner, bill is for selfless team rescues, elodie is my chest searcher its....

Its easier to change characters than perk loadouts for me

I actually thought of this same theory with a friend a little while ago. I can definitely see it working.

It's been in my mind for awhile now just for some reason the pieces clicked today while not thinking about it at work. Weird how that happens lol

    Hex: Liar's Dice

    • While active, all totems in the trial (besides this one) appear as dull totems. Upon destruction of the totem, all totems in the trial appear as though they are hex totems for 40/50/60 seconds. Notifications normally triggered by cleansing a hex totem are not triggered while Hex: Liar's Dice is active, and do trigger during the cleansed effect's duration, regardless of the totem's true identity.
    • The "cursed" status effect UI for various hexes is permanently present while active (when revealed), up until the cleansed effect's duration expires.

    I like this a lot

  • Hex: I Hate You

You are enraged by your dependance on suboptimal totem placements. If a Hex perk is destroyed (including this one) before the first generator is complete, your anger at the entity overcomes you and you gain the following effects:

    1) Pressing either emote button allows you to hold up your middle finger pointing it at the sky.

    2) You can repair generators and heal survivors.

    3) Performing a basic attack on a survivor instead awards that survivor an escape cake. You can give away 2/3/4 cakes total.

"Nerf me again you b***h!" - Random killer throughout history

  • Going by recent ranged abilities, you could shoot the rocket launchers and if it hits a survivor they have a zombie infection meter. After 27 consecutive hits with no misses, the zombie meter fills up and a zombie pops up to harass and stun the killer for a limited time.

Meanwhile, the survivor loses a health state that heals itself when the zombie timer hits zero.

Keys specifically aren't weighted disproportionately. It's rare items in general, of which keys are a part. Add pink and purple items to your experiment.

Ok. Thought it was just keys. Add 2 pink maps and 2 purple tool boxes. Brings the odds to 27.27% in my limited testing. People i am playing with probably don't like me though

  • Latest update,

    22 chests searched/rummaged

    Searched

    1 green key

    1 pink key

    Rummaged

    1 green key

    1 purple key

Nothing outrageous here on xbox only

  • Doc and legion are probably the easiest as their powers are basically guaranteed iri emblem.

Insta down killers are a little harder as less hits makes brutality harder it think

Then again, i only have freddy adept from OG freddy.

Object of Obsession because I don't use it on moral alone.

When the rework to make it less horrible to go against comes out I might start use it though.

Object is the only perk i have yet to unlock. Got Laurie's other perks from the shrine. Even when they drop the rework, i probably still wont unlock it

  • Personally i think many people play the females because they look better. I mean if you are going to have look at something for hours at a time you want to enjoy it.

When i play fighting games I typically use the females because i like speedy players over slow and strong. Physics help too

Conspiracy Theory: Keys are showing up more in chests on purpose so devs can collect data and determine the best course of action for nerfing keys.

Conspiracy Theory. They are leaving the key bug in to bring the kill rate of killers down so they can justify buffing them.

Yeah no. Can't even write that seriously!

    Blood Rush:

When the scent of Fresh blood permeates the air, you can't help but feel an invigorated rush. Your movement speed increases by 2% for every 30/25/20 seconds you directly follow a survivors blood trail (within 2 meters). Blood trails from Survivors suffering from the Hemorrhage status decrease the time it takes to gain your movement speed bonus by 50% (Hemorrhage = 15/12.5/10 seconds instead). Any accrued movement speed bonus you've earned ends 5 seconds after you cease following a blood trail, or when you pick up a downed survivor.

    Head of the House:

You've prepared your environment ahead of time to better entertain your guests. Up to 2/4/6 Pallets that spawn in the trial grounds are chosen at random in the start of the trial. Any time a survivor interacts with these pallets, they will immediately break, and cannot be used to stun you. The auras of all affected pallets are visible to you for the duration of the trial.

    Special Treatment:

You can't help but take great pleasure in tormenting your favorite toy. You become Obsessed with a survivor. Your Obsession Suffers from 1 negative status effect, chosen at random, every time you strike them with your basic attack. Any applied status effects remain with your Obsession for the remainder of the trial unless they can be removed by the actions of survivors or the hooked state. Whenever your Obsession Unhooks a teammate, the Obsession status passes onto the rescued survivor, as does up to 1/2/3 of their currently acquired negative status effects.

All negative Status effects Unique to any killer, are exempt from the available status effects picked at random.

You can only be Obsessed with one survivor at a Time.

Just a few off the top of my head. Thoughts?

    Sounds great.

What would her power be? And would she have trickster following her around on a leash?

I really think they won’t be doing 2 killers in one chapter. If they really wanted another killer from the franchise, a second chapter would make more sense IMO.

Which is also something I want to see for Left4Dead btw. There should be a chapter with killer and map!

I agree with you, both about the 2 killers and more left 4 dead. Though i heard somewhere that there is going to be a left 4 dead event. Possibly on the next rift. Bill is supposed to get cosmetics maybe

i can stand still all i want, if the survivors did totems the perk will never activate.

stop trying to say the perk would "reward the killer for X" - it does NOT do that. there is nothing on that perk that rewards the killer for doing anything. whether the perk activates or not is 100% up to the survivors.

the perk is not in any form a reward, its a punishment. it is a punishment for those Survivors who failed to cleanse all Dull Totems.

Kind of how i feel. If the killer is standing around letting survivors do whatever for the whole game, then NOED should be useless at that point. If the killer gets NOED value then that is the survivors fault.

The bigger issue is with those close games where survivors really don't have the time to cleanse.

Either way, NOED can be a powerful perk. But we also need to keep in mind that it is one perk that can be made completely useless before it activates.

Also, it is one of 4 perks that killers have against 16 survivor perks.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2124598#Comment_2124598

So the survivors have to go out of their way to prevent something that the killer doesn't even earn.

    Seems fair.

If you are so worried about NOED then yes.

Also just for clarification, last time i used NOED i want up against a rank 1 swf as a rank 13 huntress. They did all the gens and broke all the totems and i got 1 hook. I play mostly survivor now and break every totem i find. Can't wait for small game changes to go live.

  • @MadLordJack said:

You get it by standing still and doing nothing.

And if the killer is doing nothing all game, break the totems. You get the added bonus if possibly upsetting the killer by ruining his strategy.

How’s it cheap though? It’s not an exploit like stretched res. Being able to lower the graphics for better fps is completely intended on PC.

Not cheap, but definitely unfair for us console plebes

  • @[Deleted User] said:

However playing on low graphics as an advantage is kinda cheap. PC players are usually better but who knows how many mods and cheap ######### they run just to get an edge. Disappointed with you cheap pc bois.

Xbox series X player here. The game is like PC on max settings but with less FPS. Some maps are so dark you can barely see properly. Killer’s red glow is only visible when he’s right next to you and it’s a dark red as opposed to PC’s bright red. Huge disadvantage for sure.

With PC, there are so many things they can do with the graphics cards to adjust things. Filters and resolutions.

When we were talking about crossplay being integrated, i always hoped it would be console to console and pc to pc.

    Thank you :)

Interesting, so being able to set your graphic settings to low could maybe improve console fps, right?

Possibly. Im not sure the fps is based on graphics as they drop randomly throughout a match

  • @IronKnight55 said:

I've wanted that for a long time, but I doubt it's gonna happen. That's one reason why I decided to switch to PC (along with much better FPS). I'm done with console. DBD on console was just an afterthought.

Edit: Just try switching to PC.

DBD is really the only game i play with any regularity. Its not worth the monetary investment for a PC.

Yeah, I originally planned on playing both as there were no cross saves but I just couldn't go back. Honestly its sad that bhvr just got away with lying for years about optimisation coming. Did they ever even fix SLoppy butcher or noed just freezing the game mid chase for a second?

I feel bad for my console brothers that don't have the money or space for a desk/pc. As it basically made it feel like an all new game to me.

Was playing a game on spirits map as trickster and i was walking when fps dropped to zero and i ended up looking the complete opposite direction. Nothing happened in game. No generator popped. No unhooks. No chases. No totem breaking.

Ive noticed this a bunch lately across different killers and survivors and different maps. The one i described being the most recent.

Xbox one. Hopefully getting the series x will fix this

I actually played mobile once (Don't worry, I already have a therapist), and they let you see the exact item and perks your teammates were running in the lobby. Add that to the pre-game chat and you can coordinate well with random strangers.

I thought a little chase indicator would have been nice too. Maybe a little perk, letting you see the auras of any survivor in a chase and gain an objective speed bonus the closer they are to you (either that or some buff about altruism but I'm too lazy to think about it).

Perk and items should be seen by all survivors. Us console pleebs dont get lobby chat privileges

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2061260#Comment_2061260

The risk for killers was a 5 second stun, which they could shirk by slugging. Now, the risk for survivors is to completely deactivate their perk, their only defense against tunneling (other than good looping but for god's sake it's solo queue).

Solos need so much help. A chase indicator would alleviate so many problems. I wish they would have implemented something for that when they redid the UI.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059721#Comment_2059721

I agree with all of what you said; but I don't think think that speaks to the merit of the actual perk itself. DS is now more dysfunctional than ever; slugging, long chases, and lockers are still in place, but now you have to juggle the possibility of giving up your only protection against tunneling at the cost of moving forward the game, based off of incomplete information. It puts you in the tough spot of choosing to preserve your DS in the off chance that you get tunneled, or actually doing a generator like a functioning member of society, all when you don't know what the killer will do, where they are, and who they'll go for.

Which is exactly what killers have to decide. If there is an obsession, killers have to assume that every single survivor is running DS. Every decision they make is based on incomplete information. Risk vs Reward. Before, DS was reward with little risk. Now we must make a tactical decision when DS is active.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059575#Comment_2059575

The discussion whether or not tapping a gen is stupid or not is a moot point. Not only gen-tapping though, if you feel you are in the clear and start healing, but the killer comes back, you're screwed again. It requires that you literally do nothing.

It was never abusable. DS is a second-chance perk, that just happens to require you to be tunneled or otherwise. It's not, it will never be (with its current setup), and it should never be an anti-tunnel perk. Not only can you completely play around it by slugging, but if you're in chase the timer still goes down. It still is completely vulnerable to slugging, wearing out while in chase, and now has the added middle finger of you can't do anything and have to wait for the killer to come and slug you. It's not just bad, it's absolutely worthless. The killer can just ignore you (or pretend to), and you have to make the choice between 1) doing absolutely nothing for 60 seconds just to get slugged or 2) working on a gen, losing the entire perk, and opening yourself up to being tunneled down again.

The counter to DS remains the same. Slugging. It has and most likely always will be the counter.

The rework did make the perk weaker yes. However it makes it way more fair.

I kind of agree about the anti-tunnel perk. And really, if a killer wants you out of a game, there isn't a perk available that will save you. If a killer is hell bent on tunneling you, neither this version of DS nor any other version of DS is going to stop him.

Now as far as old DS, the killer had zero choice but to slug or eat the stun or allow 60 seconds of gen progression.

Now the killer can choose to slug or eat the stun. It is up to the survivor to decide whether or not to commit to a gen in the killer's face or avoid it.

This change is an indirect nerf to gen speeds without actually making them longer. It forces the survivors off the gens to heal or look for another generator.

Going to ignore the gen tapping. That is a whole seperate topic.

  • The twins is what legion should have been. Multiple killers on a map. Switching control on a short cool down. Being able to set up traps at some places.

    I really like the Twins.
