I get angry and frustrated but I don't get bored.
-
I don't think I have a single one but they all involve friendly opponents. It's just such a breath of fresh air when friendly exchanges happen.
I remember one where I got matched with an obvious 3man. A Legion snowballed hard and downed all of us within like 2 minutes of the match. The other three abandoned and the Legion got me back on my feet and we spent the match farming the bots. I had a similar match recently as Henry where three people DCed at match start and the remaining Felix and I had fun terrorizing the bots together.
I had a match on Dead Dawg, also as Henry, where a Nea's teammates left her on hook for no reason. She went second so I camped her off, I found and hooked her teammates, and she went back and forth between the hooks tbagging them while I stood in the middle of the map watching. She refused to leave the match alive though, no matter how much I tried to throw her out the door, and died in end game collapse.

Well, it was a moderator and not a developer, so maybe they were wrong in what they said, but no, it wasn't me misinterpreting what they said. They said the entire match was thrown out. Bad wording maybe, but "entire match" doesn't to me say "just for the one player" and they did also say that on the back end, Abandon and DC are the same thing, just abandon is a DC you don't get penalized for with zero score and temporary lobby ban.
If this were the case, they would have almost no data. There are abandons in 99% of matches killers win. This would mean kill rates are insanely higher than what we're shown, instead of just somewhat higher because of the DC throw-outs.
Even if this were the case (which I don't believe) they'd still be using the data internally for something. How else would they know things like how often full teams get slugged if they don't observe instances of 4 abandons?
-
Five of these killers are in my top 5 most played (I would say 6 if you count Micheal, because I only played him with Tombstone or Scratched Mirror) so I personally do play them, but some of these I just genuinely hate their kits. Original or A tier doesn't mean enjoyable. I cannot even fathom actually playing Twins. I don't want to win that much.

This is one of several known issues that have been discussed before.

It's obviously not just me, because everyone in EGC is complaining.

I dig it as-is because the intense sunlight is very TCM but I'd love night and day—as well as weather variant—versions of all outdoor maps. It would spice up the rotation with minimal effort.

I've never liked this idea for a couple reasons. First, MMR is based on such narrow criteria (kills and gate escapes) that it's basically a pointless system and doesn't indicate skill. Second, this community is already so bad about using this number they can't even see to boost their own opinions and lower everyone else's. So many people in this forum know for a fact that they're upper MMR and they also know for a fact that everyone who disagrees with them must be lower. As much as I'd love to see some of those people get humbled, the ones who actually are upper MMR will use it as some sort of authority badge to reduce the views anyone who disagrees with them.

Survivor Perks:
- Vigil (does way too much, ruins a lot of status effect centric killer builds, buffs Sprint Burst which doesn't need a buff)
- Resurgence (Punishes the killer for hooking and then walking away from the hook, neither of which are things which should be disincentivized)
- Sprint Burst (I'm not really sure what I'd do to it, but it's the best exhaustion perk by far and leads to really unengaging gameplay)
- Hyperfocus or Stake Out (These perks on their own are fine, together they're a problem. Either Hyperfocus needs to trigger off of something other than great skill checks, or Stake Out needs to give a different benefit than guaranteed great skill checks)
Killer Perks:
- Pain Resonance/Dead Man's Switch (the main problem I have with this is that it disproportionately affects new and solo queue players, who either don't know to pre-let go of gens or can't warn their allies. Easy fix, just remove the scream from Pain Res, it doesn't even do anything anymore except specifically trigger DMS since they removed showing the survivor's location)
- Coulrophobia (the perk that enables the slug-only playstyle, basically only gets used for that. Wouldn't be a problem if not for the slug-only playstyle, but since it enables it and it is miserable to play against, it sadly needs to go for the same reason Knock Out had to get reworked)
- Forced Hesitation (this perk is only ever used for people who plan to make tunneling and slugging their main win condition. It has no other purpose, just an unhealthy perk)
- Dissolution (another absolutely dreadful perk to play against, used to not be a problem until they started adding killers who can injure so easily like Ghoul and Krasue while still being strong killers)
Special Mention
- Hex: Two Can Play/Blast Mine/Flashbang. (TO BE CLEAR, I'm not asking for nerfs to these perks, just a general mention in regards to the blind effect in this game and how I have seen photosensitive people complain about it. While killers can protect themselves with Lightborn, survivors have no protection. All three of these perks cause a sudden flash of bright light in the player's face. They really need an accessibility option to make the blind effect a screen darkening one in general so that photosensitive killers don't have to run Lightborn and photosensitive survivors don't need to worry about being flashed with bright light with no warning anymore)
Infectious Fright is just as big if not a bigger offeneder with the slugging issue than Coulrophobia. They both need changes
I use Forced Hesitation with Weave and Frankin's to get reads and hits on people near downs. It's an anti-sabo perk for me, not a tunneling and slugging perk.

Compare that to killer…
Vecna 2 is basically the only killer in recent memory to have 2 actually useful new perks.
Jason's perks? Horrid. Krasue's perks? Horrid. Springtrap's perks? Horrid. (Phantom fear at best but even then 60 second cooldown just makes it a pointless info perk compared to NTH, on top of it being triggered mid chase making it useless) Ghoul perks? Horrid. Houndmaster? Just jagged compass. Dark lord? Horrid. Lich? Hyper niche build with weave + franklin's, that's it. Unknown? Horrid.
Basically every killer is releasing with complete nonsense for perks.
You're spinning it how you want to. It's about the same ratio. Forever Entwined, Weave, Jagged Compass, Phantom Fear along with all of Henry's perks all see regular use. And older perks are superior on both sides.
-
Can we also get a perk that gives killers free gen regression and free hooks when they want to go get a little snack?

Right, thread is going so fast is hard to keep up.
Cross Examination is another can of worms but this is not the thread for it, but in no way I think is a miracle to get a good perk from a chapter, at least from the survivor side. Before ST2, all survivor perks that came before found some use.
Vee had Ghost Notes and One-two-three-four.
Michone came with Conviction
Orlea had Do No Harm (a little less used now due diminishing returns)
Taurie had Shoulder the Burden
Belmond's perks never got meta but they weren't horrible either
Lara brought Finesse
I don't know in what world survivor aren't getting amazing perks, specially with Elusive right around the corner and finding itself in more and more perks. When compared to Jason's perks, it makes them feel like garbage.Aren't you kind of making my point? One good perk on Vee. One good perk on Michonne (with a massive downside). One good perk on Orela. One on Eleven. None on Dustin. None on Rick. One on Taurie (also gigantic throw potential). I'd say the only character that's had three decent perks in a while is Henry. Secret Project is actually very good on a gen blocking build, but people refuse to step away from the meta.

I'm sure we can find some people that fit that, but it doesn't mean we can spread those anecdotal incidents and apply it to all. I would agree those people just forming opinions from watching others should wait to play it first. I just wouldn't assume that's the majority without actually knowing.

I believe that the opinions of those who did manage to test him properly matter a bit more than the claims of those who only read the power description. But, even those opinions do hold weight.
Feedback for this game has no officially attached form submission. It's just people on the internet shouting. It's why the system is so flawed. There's no way to know how many accounts are the same person spamming, or which actually played the ptb, or who's parroting a CC. So how do they determine who to listen to?
-
In-game, I was tbagged/humped by a Ghostface for almost the entire bleedout timer for no reason at all. I was also recently body blocked into a corner by a killer and made to stay there until a bleedout of a slug for the first time ever. In my baby survivor days, I had a Ghostface (there's a trend here) who teamed up with my teammates to target me all match, then told me it was because I was the only female character.
The worst one though was also in my babyish days. A teammate body blocked me at shack while I was in chase. They then spent the whole match tbagging me and pointing at me while I was on the hook and shaking their head. They later told me it was because I used too many pallets. It bothered me for quite awhile and the killer ignoring it probably affected how I approach killer even now, because I would never allow that if I saw it, and this killer certainly did, and used it to win.
Post-game, on Steam, I've gotten the typical insults in chat but no suggestions to end my life. On console, I've had voice messages sent to me, but people are careful there. I've had opponenets send me VC requests but I've never accepted them.

"You mean because they buffed some killers coming out of PTB and realised they maybe overdid it? Oh, shocking."
I'll take examples for 500 Jeff.
"You're telling me a game with live balance is receiving live balance? Oh my…."
Oh so now we're saying "have ever received a live balance since their release"? I think we're altering the original intent here. The original statement was referencing right after release.
"What about Lich who recieved a lot of buffs over time? Blight did too
until he became one of the most problematic killers for years."Lich nearly 2 years later? and still isn't even A tier.
Blight I'd actually agree with. That is probably one good example that was buffed after release and over buffed at that.
"It's also an assumption that people are on the PTB? What's your point,
it's called an opinion, based on knowing many ps5 players etc who can't
wait to try him out. So you can take your attempt to dismiss me and
keept it lmao"No it's an assumption that they didn't play the PTB and are just getting their opinions from CC's.
It isn't an assumption. There have been console users on the forum giving opinions on this killer while having no access to the ptb themselves. Now magnify that throughout all of social media. Only so many people are on Steam, and only so many participate in the ptb. Most people haven't played this killer yet, yet opinions are rampant.

People just want something functional. Stranger Things Chapter 2 actually brought stuff literally no one complained about because not only it was usable and it had good synergy with existing perks. People are complaining now because no one wants to have to break 13 pallets to get full value out of a perk that only activates if you're stunned/blinded.
This was in response to a conversation involving a stream of people coming to a thread about Jason to complain about Cross Examination for some reason, not about Jason's perks.
But how often do you see the ST2 perks? TBTC has become meta by doing the same thing all the killer meta perks do (how creative and exciting) while I maybe see We See You occasionally. Dustin's perks are non existent. There also wasn't that much hype and talk about that chapter. Henry got his subsequent nerfs in relative silence, and how often do you really see him? Not so much for the most recent killer. If we get one useful perk out of a chapter it's a miracle.

I want old FT back tbh.
Or, have you earn tokens for it by picking up a slug. That way instead of punishing hooks like so many claimed, it punishes slugging and makes for a more active role in the FT user.
That aside, Cross Examination is really horrible to play into. Yes, players make mistakes with it, but it's very easy not to. One tall wall, one nearby rock, boom, it's now pure luck if the killer sees you break chase or not. Plus, if it became meta I couldn't really see it shaking anything up. In fact, use SB and Vigil with it, and you can near guarantee getting to a tall loop to pull these shenanigans.
However, I appreciate people may want it to work as it does in chase, which is why I think it should be tested as a conditional, same vein as Overzealous, permanent until injured, then you need to invest time to re-up it.I was also going to make the same comparsion @Aven_Fallen did with IW and LB. I currently run both those perks to great effect. They do take two slots, that's true, but they also do more than one thing. Iron Will gives value constantly while injured, throughout the whole match, and LB is almost always still active after my first hook, so I can run away from the hook with no trail, making it double as chase bamboozler and anti-tunnel, and I've been tunneled probably 10 times in 400ish matches running this combo. I personally prefer things that give me guaranteed and varied value. CE is too situational for me personally.
And Elusive isn't all powerful either. Aside from just seeing people, Killer Instinct and loud noise notifcation perks and add-ons still work through it, as do noisy killer effects like infections. And much like the IW and LB combo, there's a good chance the person is crouching behind a nearby rock, and if they're found, they're hit. I think my biggest issue with the whole conversation around this perk is how hard focused everyone is on chase and how entitled they feel to an easily trackabke survivor. Meanwhile, killers can run near-uncounterable aura (like me) or undetectable builds and that's fine.
But again, the chances of it going live as is are probably near zero. It's kind of a pointless conversation. I'm at the point where if I see a lot of repetitive complaints about a survivor thing then it's dead in the water.
In regards to people using it with SB, I'd love to see Elusive not work when exhausted. Anything that hurts the SB/Vigil meta is good to me.

I normally like your takes but in this case we're opposed forever. Within different tribes, never to reconcile… You… You survivor main!
For real though, the problem with the perk is it's too strong, too free, no investment required and always active. Its use in chase appears to be an oversight. Make it work like Overzealous or remove its chase function and it's golden.I don't care about this perk at all. I don't even intend to try it. But my point is it likely won't be strong for long because of certain trends in community reaction and BHVR's reposnses. I'm seeing the same pattern we just had with Fast Track.
I'd personally rather see new perks be strong so the meta will change. I'm tired of SB/Vigil. But we are never changing if new perks continue to be trash.
Lots of perks have zero investment. I can make a build for both roles that will activate throughout the match even if I'm AFK. This is more earned than, say, Deadlock or Alert. You do have to at least be moving and reacting, and it's not like Elusive teleports you away. You're still perfectly chaseable and downable. Like any stealth perk, if you misjudge, you die.

It's not a fact. They have released zero info on what changes the survivor perks are getting. They specifically said that's not what's been announced since the survivor releases later. These aren't just temper tantrums, they're preemptive ones.
Your numbers are a little off. Fast Track was blasted into near uselessness a couple weeks after the rework. All it takes is a few CCs whipping their drones into a frenzy and that's that.
You do realize that killers get changes both after the ptb and after some time live? The last killer received several nerfs a few weeks after the ptb despite not even staying very popular. This is normal.
-
It's wild that a perk (that's probably getting nerfed) can make this community throw such an extreme temper tantrum. The perk has nothing to do with Jason and won't even be releasing alongside him. You either like the killer's kit or your don't. The potential existence of a survivor perk has nothing to do with that.
-
My thoughts are that pretty much no new or recently reworked perk or item is allowed to be useful because this community won't tolerate it. So even if it survives this first wave of whining (which I doubt) it will almost certainly not survive the second wave after it goes live. Fog vials and Fast Track are good precedents for what happens nowadays.

It would be more understandable if the majority of maps were bad for him, but no killer should be good on every map, and the maps he struggles on are in a healthy minority.Yeah I main a 4.4 and Trickerster's Delusion is my worst map. I might as well just try to farm when I load into that one. That doesn't mean the killer needs a buff though. The ranged 4.4s have every advantage on open maps. If he gets buffed to 4.6 then something else has to go, and then the rework becomes pointless.

Because using Plot Twist to force DS is becoming extremely commonplace
Not even exaggerating I see it in my solo Q games all the time.
I had someone recently use it to push me into hooking them so they could use Deliverance and distract me away from their teammate during end game. I thought it was pretty funny, and pretty obvious. I don't really see a big issue with the DS interaction. Don't pick them up or eat the stun and down them again. Perks should actually do things. Being as quirky as it is, it should have more than one usage, considering its various downsides. Otherwise, you can just bring a medkit or Strength in Shadows or something.
You could also just ignore recently unhooked survivors and then DS is a non-issue.
The Corrupt interaction should go, but the chances of making use of that are pretty low. But the triggering of killer perks like Infectious should also go then.

I know exactly how it worked, I'm a 2017 player. I didn't mention any of it because it would have made my post as long as Wall Maria
Let me ask you in reverse. In 0-kill games, have you ever seen a survivor spontaneously sacrifice for the killer to make him feel better? Why would you expect the killer to spare the last survivor? The entitlement here is absurd.
Of course the precedent iteration of hatch had issues, (mainly caused by how broken keys were back then) but at least it was a consistent mechanic. Now it's just plain ugly rng.
The problem here is that the mechanics of hatch are forcing Killers to play toxic to get 4k, because otherwise they'd simply rely on rng. Which is not fun.
The only problem with hatch being visible was the existence of keys which allowed survivor to escape way earlier. That's why I suggested to make it not-accessible until 2v1.
Let me ask you in reverse. In 0-kill games, have you ever seen a survivor spontaneously sacrifice for the killer to make him feel better?
Yes, many times. I've done it. My friends have done it. I just had someone yesterday try to give me a kill. Not out of pity, but because I let them do a glyph mid chase. A couple months ago I opened the gate after a bad match. It was the only time I've ever done that because I'm not the giving up type, and a Claudette tried to give me a kill. You have to earn the pity ones by having some grace and personality and acting like a human being, but if you're sweating until the end you likely won't see this phenomenon.
But, as usual, this comparsion isn't equivalent because this is an asymm. Survivors are weak as individuals and are at the mercy of matchmaking if they're soloqing. I give hatch a lot because I get it when someone just gets screwed. Killers are solely responsible for themselves. My loses as killer often feel more deserved than my survivor ones.
A death is also a hard loss for a survivor. A killer still gets a win when they give hatch, or just loses that survivor to hatch naturally.

I wish people would understand this but they're so desperate for the two sides to be like distinctly separate political parties. People get mad at these BMers and attach it to the role instead of the person.

Fully agree that DC penalties need to be increased. Based on past discussions on this topic I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the fact that this is an unpopular opinion explains exactly why there is such an epidemic with people disconnecting. Many players simply do not care if they ruin other people’s games and they think they are entitled to do so.
I can count on my fingers how many times I've DCed, and it's never once been as survivor. I don't even use the abandon option. And I'm still against increasing DC penalties. They will only make more problems.

Best to me is when there's variety. What I don’t want to go up against is four of the same thing. It's obnoxious, and I don't think it should even be possible. Instead of diminishing, I would have rather them just limited builds to no more than two in a set category.

The killer is the one creating the situation it is entirely on them to end it, not the survivors. The blatant lack of respect people in this thread are showing towards their opponents is staggering.
Going for a four man out is not the equivalent situation, its survivors bagging in the exit gate. The match is at the point where one side has won and nothing is going to change that. Both are massive wastes of time and do nothing but show disrespect to your opponents. Why is it so hard to remember that we are playing a video game and there is a person waiting to move on to their next match?
If anyone is wondering why there is so much toxicity in this community this thread is the perfect place to start. So many people being completely OK leaving another player on the ground solely to guarantee a 4k win instead of the already guaranteed 3k win and probably still a 4k. Apparently sportsmanship and basic respect are foreign concepts.
This community is constantly proving their motivations for playing a pvp. It's certainly isn't any lofty pleasantries like good sportsmanship and fairness. It's to feel like you're making other people feel bad.
-
BHVR has said they exclude matches with DCs for the official stats they release. Mandy has also said that the stat page has no correlation to their internal data. Your personal stats aren't a good example of what they might be using behind the scenes to make changes. The site is known to have numerous flaws.
If DC punishments get worse, more people will die on purpose. If anything, they should be punished less, as those instances are actually messing up the stats if the system doesn't flag it as intentional. I'd also rather have a bot than a thrower as a teammate. They just need to make the bots better.

By the wieght of usefulness in hard situations plot twist offers its not meme perk thats like calling devour meme perk.
Plot twist offers many solutions to hard situations for survivors such as compleatly solving slugging whole team or slowing endgame timer or making you unslugable with ds and so on which no “meme” perk does and its tiered as very powerfull perk.
If you ran aura perks you can get free hooks from plot twist users but if they are aware you wont.
It doesn't solve slugging the whole team. It can make it worse. It triggers Infectious Fight.

It is not about kills or anything like that.
Endurance exists to help survivors against tunneling and to give them protection in those situations. However, once all generators are completed, the game is basically considered over. At that point, there is nothing left for the killer to “tunnel” someone, because the main objective has already been completed.
The way I see it is similar to the hatch. The hatch gives survivors hope of escaping and prevents them from completely giving up when the match is almost lost. In the same way, if basekit Endurance were removed during the endgame, it would give the killer a reason to keep playing the last minute or two of the match with the hope of securing a kill.
If you are so good at killer that you can secure a kill during the endgame even with Endurance active, then that is good for you. However, that is your personal experience, not necessarily what the general player base experiences.
If the developers still want Endurance to exist during the endgame, they could make it so that Borrowed Time provides Endurance during that period instead of having it be basekit.

Then it should be a freebie specifically for people who are not good? Why should that survivior who was unlucky enough to be hooked at the last second in a match they were winning just suddenly lose so the not-very-good killer gets a consolation prize?

Take a look at your personal stats. Do you see "wins" anywhere on the killer tab? No, you see a personal kill rate. The game require you to play for 4k. Not "3k is a win anyway going for 4k is an ego". But it only works one-way right? 🤣
I personally dont think killer should guarantee 1k at endgame, but i dont think hatch should exist either. Why do survs get free win buttons and killer can't get a thing that doesn't even give them a win, not even a draw, just a kill. "I am poor solo q so skilled my teammates suck i deserve i win". Once again play killer or some game where individual skill matters more. You dont come to team game and complain about your random teammates otherwise(its not like you cant get friends to play with yourself) you are just an idiot honestly who hates himself.
Yes its hard to believe you play a killer if you think any killer gets things free and easy. Thats just average opinion of bad surv who gets stomped in 15s chase by skull merchant and complains about killers being too OP.
Also slugging at 2 survs is intended, at the very least at this point it is, it was like that for years and bhvr did not address it in any way, either bhvr dont care and dont fix obvious problem for years or you just make up things in your head. Choose your poison.
The game doesn't "require" you to do anything and I never said playing for 4k is ego. Feeling entitled to a 4k in a match you've already won and forcing a lengthy lose-lose situation on other people is ego.Show me where in this game it says slugging specifically for the 4k is intended. Just because people have decided to do something doesn't mean it's intended. BHVR are too scared to make big changes because they know the CCs and their mindless drones will cry about it until it's destroyed.

I already showed you my nearly 60% ER for the month but, yeah, I must be bad at survivor. So here's me getting a couple sudden wins as killer, totally thanks to aura perks, free and easy:
https://youtu.be/zxFVqAkQyzk
https://youtu.be/y6ubqFvyGfU
That first one you can see I was doing terrible with 2 hooks at 1 gen left. Yet I won. Because killer is like that. Sudden wins after losing don't happen for survivors. And here's a handful of undeserved end game/late game wins. Because the game is already killer-sided as is, against all but the very best coordinated teams:
Would you like to see a bunch of screenshots of 4ks at 5gens too? Those are also free and easy, thanks to poor matchmaking.

Plot Twist is not a meme perk. It's funny but it's not a meme perk.
It's like Yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur. Yes, he's funny, but he is not a joke character and he will destroy you if you don't take him seriously. Basically all of Nick Cage's perks are like this, all three of them are both funny and strong.
And no, before I go on, I am not saying it needs a nerf, it's perfectly fine. But I do want to address the notion that it's just for memes.
Ignoring the fact that what the perk does by itself in a vacuum is very effective. Basically letting you heal without a medkit 1-2 times per trial, one of them being in endgame when you might need the ability to heal yourself the most.
It's also one of the best anti-slug perks in the game. If you have Plot Twist there is no reason whatsoever not to use it when you know you're about to go down. It forces the killer to pick you up whether they want to or not. And unlike Unbreakable or We're Gonna Live Forever, it's not a dead perk slot if the killer doesn't slug, since it still has all of its normal utility.
And yes, it can be used like OP describes. You can force yourself to go down under a pallet and make yourself basically invincible. If you have an ally around then the killer can't afford to pick you up, but if the killer takes too long to pick you up then you just get up by yourself at full health. It can be paired with DS as well to create similar lose/lose situations.
As someone who runs aura on killer, I'm well aware the perk is useful, but it can also be detrimental. It's a decent perk, silly too, but can also get you killed.

Probably because a lot of licensed characters look and sound nothing like the source material, hopefully one day they get fixed
The licensed ones I get because they cost money. But Haddie and Orlea aren't licensed.

Plot twist isnt meme perk, the screeming one or dramaturgy are from cage but not plot twist that has so many more uses compare to these two.
Meme perk isntt one that can impact game or counter hard other perks like corrupt, slowdown endgame collapse on command or with other perks make you safe from killer like with ds.
Deffinitely not mene perk when its usefulness its so huge and b-tier perk at worst.
I know the perks, thanks. All perks can be useful, even meme perks.

We are mad about meme perks now.

And surv side is a side of team skill expression. God why you so stubborn about getting a win in a game your team lost, it would be absurd in any other team-based pvp, if your team loses you also lose no matter how godly player you are, thats like common sense, not difficult concept to grasp, but i guess dbd players are built different. Why cant you play killer or just a game where only individual skill expression matters if losing because of bad teammates is so frustrating for you.
Take a look at your personal stats. Do you see "wins" anywhere on the survivor tab? No, you see a personal escape rate. The game doesn't require survivors to be team-minded, and they aren't rewarded in anyway for doing so. Until there's more basekit assistance and more full-game changes to help soloqers be a team, they usually aren't.
Thinking killers should be able to guarantee an end game kill even if they were terrible all match is the most entitled idea I've ever seen. If you're entitled to a 4k every match you win, then aren't survivors entitled to a 4 out every match they get the gens done and the gates open?
Lol I do play killer. I know it's hard to believe, but we don't all want things to be free and easy. Some of us want to earn what we get.
Called a hypocrisy.
You know what's hypocrisy? Thinking you should always get a 4k when you're winning, even going so far as to supress intended mechanics, and then also thinking you deserve a free end game kill when you're losing.
-
The amount of Sables is so absurd when surrounded by so many characters with single-digit numbers.

"Don't deserve it" well bro what about hatch, does surv deserve it in a lost game? 🤣
The hatch is an intended mechanic certain players have decided to supress. Endurance is an intended mechanic that's hard to suppress, so I guess just delete it? You are the one caught up on the idea of deserved things. You think you deserve a 4k even if everyone gives up. So do you also think you deserve a free kill when you play like garbage and get two hooks all match?
These too things aren't remotely equivalent. A survivor can play perfectly but have bad teammates that cost them the match. Hence, the hatch exists. And it's not a guarantee even if it's allowed to spawn. But killers are one person, and if you did bad, it's solely on you. Killer should be the role of individual skill expression and personal responsibility yet so many are always asking for more free stuff.
-
Part of endgame as killer is thinking about the best way to do things. If the person has no hook states than hooking is often not the best idea. If the basement is nearby, you have a better chance of defending the hook. As it is, some killers are very difficult to rescue against, and if survivors aren't coordianted they can blow it and flip a win into a loss. Killers already get no anti-camp, and most useful survivor perks are disabled in endgame.
End game kills aren't supposed to be free. If you have 2 or 3 people left to perform the rescue, you probably don't deserve it.
-
The Leon should have waited until someone was hooked or everyone was safe if you weren't already aware of what perks were in play. If you can't identify all the killers perks during the match then it's best to assume end game and prepare accordingly.
Idk how many hours your friend has but they might want to get used to other people getting them killed, friends or otherwise.

This game doesn't have a defined number of kills or escapes that constitutes a win. Some streamers who do kill streaks see it the way you do. 3K and let the last survivor have hatch. Some will only accept a 4K.
If you want to talk about ego, what about the ego of survivor mains who think they have to get everyone out so bring Dead hard, Decisive Strike, We'll Make It, etc.? 3-4 seco9nc chance perks. Sounds stupid to call that an ego problem, right? So it the idea of a killer wanting to win the game their way being an ego problem. How are you comparing using perk, which are an intended part of the game, to actively suppressing an intended mechanic?

One of the moderators (forget who) on this forum clarified that if ANYONE abandons at any time (rather than exiting normally from the end-game lobby when the match is finished) then the entire match is throw out for all BHVR data.
Which I find funny, as if that moderator was correct, how many survivors will abandon during the Mori? Entire match just never happened for ANYONE. No MMR gain, no MMR loss, no data on kills and escapes for BHVR… nothing… The match never happened. You got your BP that's it.They've made very little statements about abandons and their effects on matches since they were installed. As others above said you're mixing up DCs and abandons.
The problem with abandons is I recall them saying that bots give no MMR, being empty shells, so you can essentially smurf by repeatedly slugging, or 4man slugging, to try to make people abandon. I also regularly get survivor teams that will try to get me to down everyone when it's going badly so they can all abandon. They're probably just doing it to go next but if it allows them to keep MMR they should have lost, the system is even worse than it appears on the surface.

funny thing is hyperfocus stakeout isn't affected fir gen progression it didn't affect it much if at all but gen regression was affected on top of the 8 kick limit still being a thing
Stakeout and Hyperfocus are two perks that weren't affected but Deja Vu, Overzealous, Resilience, Prove Thyself, Full Circuit, Quick Gambit, and whatever other gen perks are percentage-based all were. Meanwhile, Pain Res, Pop, TBTC, Surge, Eruption—all popular perks—were unaffected.
Gen speed boosters were affected much more than regress.
