As much as I hate toxic survivors, that is not allowed on the forums.

Except when you play survivor, most times your mistakes get covered by second chance perks or other things like that, unless you're beyond bad, while when you play killer, your mistakes cost you the game and the few things that can cover them are often dismantled before they even do anything
Kind of like when you have an injured survivor at a loop. If they have dead hard, you're in a lose - lose scenario.
Do you go for the swing hoping they'll mistime the DH? Well then they correctly time it while slapping you with a pallet. Do you bait out the DH? Well too bad, they drop the pallet anyway and they run to another loop while you're breaking the pallet.
That's not even mentioning how RNG map spawns can screw you over by no fault of your own. Or if teammates decided to drop every pallet possible in a chase before the killer get's into one with you.
There are a ton of things that can happen with this game that are out of your control. Pretending that loss is always due to a lack of skill, is ignoring extenuating circumstances, or broken Aspects of the game. With the most blatantly broken being keys right now, which still enable free escapes mid match with minimal effort.
-
Don't worry, the person in charge of game balance decided that this perk is perfectly okay.
Granted he's been getting dunked on by the community because of his reliance on stats instead of also considering how it feels to go against something.
-
The devs have pulled a lot of questionable stuff last year. The worst thing being they butchered the Halloween event into being a cash grab that can barely qualify as an event.
Then they never made an official statement on it! The only thing any of the devs said was when McCote said. " there should be something coming out for that" So not only did they give butcher one of their best events. They never apologized for the blatant cash grab!
As others have stated, many people in the community have made well spoken videos detailing what is wrong in the game, or with the devs decisions. None of these videos have accomplished anything, the devs have never made statements about them.
The only thing that has happened is degrading game quality due to sudden influxes of bugs and continual optimization issues that have been plaguing consoles for years now. They promised to hit the 60fps mark for all available consoles two years ago, which has clearly never happened.
We have been patient with these devs, but they have refused to listen to their own community. The worst of it is the utter lack of communication. They have hardly ever given us data on why they've made decisions. Essentially making us take Almo's word for it when Almo is relying on stats that could be heavily skewed by the horrible ranking and matchmaking, which they have refused to fix!
We have gotten nowhere by being nice to these devs. The only time they listen to us is when they manage to make something so bad that it makes everyone in the community angry. AKA what happened with the eternal blight.
-
Sounds a lot more realistic that's for sure.
They could make it dependent on distance, where you would hear that scream when across the map.
-
No innovation = stagnating gameplay
Stagnating gameplay = bored veterans
Bored veterans leave searching for other games.
Leaving new players to experience the game, and eventually repeating the cycle.

You kill the survivor, then they spawn again with 0 hook states!
Sounds about right
-
Something is wrong with it, it allows you to rank up too easily. Resulting in nearly everybody getting funneled into red ranks.
Red ranks should be where the top players are. Not where 65% of the playerbase ends up through playtime.
-
Lucky son of a [BAD WORD]
-
I really wish they would put in the effort to make this game better. But after all the crap they've done with the eternal blight, and console optimization, I don't think effort is in the cards anymore.
This game could be amazing, but I don't believe these devs are doing what's right for the game.
-
BHVR says no
-
If I had to guess, they hate doing things that aren't gens.
-
I main blight on console... I am painfully aware of the poor optimization.
They told us about 2 years ago that they're targeting 60fps for all available platforms. You can clearly see how that has not been met if you hop on any last gen console.
It is downright disgraceful that the devs have ignored these issues for so long.
-
Yep, these'll take about a year for the devs to fix.
Or they'll just flat out ignore them, it's anyone's guess at this point.

Nah I’d rather they bring back the spirit bug where when your phasing you hear her breathing that was actually very good even though it was a bug it was a very nice way to show counterplay they should bring it back
That would be too much information, essentially making her power obsolete for mindgames, as well as for sneaking up on survivors because you'll hear a really loud *SIGH* when she's coming your direction.
In any case I wish they'd turn down her breathing. I can hardly hear the default chase music when I'm going against her.

The ironic thing is that the complete opposite is true for many killer mains on this forum. They don't want a challenge, they want to be "the power role." They want the devs to make the game "scary again." I mean look at the dude in this thread who said the killer rate should be 75%. He wants to play a completely different game that has next to no challenge.
To be fair, in a 1v4 game there should be even odds when it concerns the 1 against the 4. But in the 1v1 aspect the killer should be the clear power role.
-
*you've alerted the horde*
-
Whatever floats your boat I guess
-
Most likely, they'll probably throw in another unmentioned change like what they did with discordance.
Can't trust them to put everything in the PTB.

Didn’t you know? Every month there’s a new thing people want nerfed.
Apparently so, usually there's at least a reason for it. Like how people hated billy, but really they hated his instasaw addons.
But it seems like there's no basis for these complaints.

Yep

The thing is,changing DS won't be an easy task. It's gonna be more complicated than a simple number buff (which already takesseveral months for them to do so).
I'll assume it will take a few months before we hear something new about that.
I miss the days when I could play a game that devs could update every week to fix bugs. Nowadays we have to wait months on end, years even to get a significant update to obviously overpowered or underpowered things
-
Wouldn't be surprised with the track record BHVR has. Just don't expect anything good and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Unless they somehow can't even meet lowered expectations.

Bro idk hit box’s looks good to me
That's just dedicated servers screwing you over. The issue isn't the hitboxes themselves, but BHVR's shoddy servers.
-
Plague, she was fun when she was first introduced. But now with the dedicated servers cucking her out of hits that should have obviously landed, I can say with certainty I regret spending the $5.
-
Welp, nevermind, it got moved to feedback.
-
No, didn't want it in the first place
-
Yeah I've noticed DBD doesn't really stick to the 16 meter limit the devs supposedly placed on pallet spawns.
It's probably due to bugs though, what else is new?
-
Or just rework DS to be an actual anti tunnel perk.
Alternatively they could add base game protection from tunneling, then rework the purpose of DS entirely. I don't see them doing that though, because they just love how thematic some perks are.

They better fix Chapel as well. Everybody focuses on Disturbed Ward god window, while Chapel is legit broken. It can spawn multiple windows that connect to the surrounding tiles. Two of those are genuine god windows. Just yesterday I saw Probzz who had a 5 window alignment for direct fast vault counting an LT wall outside as well. The shack has a maze tile 3 feet away and can spawn the infamous shack window facing a long wall window, but a lot of other spawns are broken too. The circus area has the fun window as well. The map isn't even that 'small' (bigger than Rancid) considering that it has an elongated shape.
They could do something like what they did with wretched shop.
If one window is open, then the other is covered up. Simple change to make that building feel less horrible to go against. Could also put a breakable wall next to the god window, which is probably what they're going to do if they consider the window problematic.
I also wonder if there's going to be signs that the blight mutated there. Given it happened in the chapel in his trailer.
-
Stealth killers are already cucked when it comes to stealthing around the map because there is a perk that hard counters stealth, even through undetectable.
Doors would be kind of neat, but there's already too much going on with the horrible placement of breakable walls.
-
Aww, I was kinda hoping cold wind would be changed.
Oh well, hopefully they'll make the game suck less for both survivors and killers.
-
Why you gotta do my man blight like that? He's at least A tier.
-
Money, plain and simple.
-
I wonder how the twins blighted skin will turn out
-
Wraith, especially because i use spine chill religiously.
-
Well the terror aspect of the stealth killer is lost when a survivor can hard counter stealth with a single perk.
But the maps are being made more atmospheric. There isn't really much more to be done because you'll become used to the horror aspect of the game eventually.
-
Not gonna lie, that kinda sounds like a you problem.

I feel that each of those items are what I would consider flaws in the game. If these are muddying stats then they need to be resolved so that we can get a better more clear understanding of balance.
One of the major issues with rank stats is the fact that most everyone is funneled into red ranks. Making it a hodge podge of different skill levels, when really it should only be the top players there. Not the only the top 1% mind you, but people should have to earn their place in red ranks with skill, not playtime.
Sadly ranking most likely isn't going to be fixed because of MMR. Yet another hidden stat , one that dictates the people we're matchmade with. So ranks will only be there to look cool.

1. The survivor he starts with depends on how he wants to play. Stealth suits jake and nea, Support is dwight, healing is claudette. Personally he should read up on their perks and decide what playstyle he wants for himself.
2. An eldritch entity has kidnapped people from the multiverse to have them play out a game of cat and mouse to feed on their suffering. It chooses some to be the victims, and others to be the killers. Most of the time it corrupts the killers in the real world so they perform heinous acts. These acts scar the locations they are performed in, allowing the entity to influence the area and pull any unfortunate people who wander in, into it's realms. The game takes place inside the entity because it's a living dimension.
3. Generally killers who have some sort of mobility are best. The best killer is nurse, but she takes LOTS of practice to get used to. Spirt, blight, and freddy are among the upper tier killers. But play whichever ones suit your taste. Even if you choose a weaker killer you can make it work against most teams if you get good with them.
An important tip for them would be that dead by daylight can be a frustrating game to play. It requires experience that you have to earn yourself without a tutorial ( because the tutorial is so bare bones ). That, and the toxicity from both ends can be downright infuriating sometimes.
If they stick with the game, they will earn the experience required to do decent in most matches. So in short, stick with the game, it gets better.
-
It'd be neat. It would give them a reason to make another killer that can apply the madness debuff as well.

The other thread that got taken down wasn't mine, should have clarified that.

There's 3 killer outfits and 3 survivor outfits that are available for 75% off. If you're going to complain, at least do your research.
You'll find the listed killer and survivor outfits in the winter sale announcement in the news tab.

How is new autohaven killer sided? Many of the loops have been made wider/longer, there aren't any holes in the tiles you can peek through like before, and most of the general loops don't have LOS blockers. If anything, Ormond is the one that's become more killer sided since the rework (although it's much better than what it was like before. Just needs the snow mound loops to be a tiny bit longer/higher and it's perfect.)
There is a hole in the primary jungle gym setup, same place it was in pre - rework actually, right next to a potential pallet spawn.

Blight is my favorite killer of all time.
They teased him years ago with the first blight event for halloween. Building him up through cutscenes, culminating in his transformation in a trailer. While his lore serves to show how ambition without proper knowledge will land you in dire straits ( a good message to hear in DBD of all games ).
But his gameplay is amazing ( discounting his low FOV and the fact everything feels like it's covered in butter ). He has mobility, something that every killer needs to succeed well. Blight also has lethality alongside his movement, allowing those with excellent map knowledge to become top tier killer players in their matches.

Also here's also another clip of him which you can tell why he balance things the way that he does: https://clips.twitch.tv/FragileSuspiciousMagpieSeemsGood
Kinda hard to understand the statistics if they will only show us the bare minimum stats when it comes to the killers.
They have'nt shown us anything related to survivor escape rates in red ranks, or for the top 1%

I don't use Exhaustion Perks.
Now I got an even more unpopular opinion.
Killers rely too much on Undying Ruin to win.
This post isn't about ruin/undying. If you have beef with that combo, go make your own post about it.
Otherwise, stick to the topic.

Wha... what the hell is this even supposed to mean?
Killers NEED slow down perks to win because gen speed is so bonkers.
Also what do you mean killers rely on their powers to win? Like what? Using Victor is a "crutch", are you kidding me? Are you really out here saying killers shouldn't use their own ability?
Finally, did you really just say survivors "rely way too much on healing to win"? Dude that's literally a core gameplay mechanic. "Healing and getting unhooked is just rewarding their mistakes in the end" , so, you're saying survivors just shouldn't get downed or healed at ALL during the match?
This thread was supposed to be about exhaustion perks, not whatever this is.
Like, is this some sort of bait? Please someone help me understand this.
Tried to tell him to stay on topic, guess he just wants to be angry someone holds a different opinion than him.
Especially wierd when he tries to shift the topic to slowdown perks, which is clearly what this post is not about.
He doesn't even try to talk about exhaustion perks. Plus that last paragraph was barely coherent enough to understand what the point was.
-
Probably nothing, since they outright ignored questions about it in the last QnA. They have'nt talked about it for about a year as well.
I wouldn't expect much in the next year or so, like jdcabral said.
