  • Slowdown perk are needed unless you want your game to last 200 sec. Personally i use thrilling tremors, pgtw and surge for slowing down the gen and sometime i feel like its not enough depend on the map and if its a swf.

This game is so grindy that most people don't get those perks for a while. By the time they have both perks unlocked/teachable, they already know how to do something as simple as a safe unhook. Most new players go for Claudette levels of self-preservation perks first.

True but with DS and BT you need to forget about safe unhook because you dont care you are sure the guy you unhook is safe the only thing survivor need skill for is the looping part of the game otherwise survivor is brain dead in my opinion

  • @Todgeweiht said:

Survivors have to learn how to properly loop around tiles, resource management (when to use pallets), when is a proper time to rescue teammates, when should they stick to gens or do others tasks, and other things depending on which killer they face.

Saying survivor requires no skill is disingenuous to say the least, obviously it's not going to be as hard as learning how to properly play nurse or trapper, but it has its skill gap.

I can agree on the looping part killer need to learn how to counter that too. But survivor dont need to know when to do a save they have BT and DS that make them skip that learning phase

Ok, this is what i believe being the best player in this game and i don't base my judgement on the skill (even tho he is pretty skill) But i judge his skill on knowledge and fairness. Basically: He plays fair, he always tries to 12 hook and he never play lame unless he has too, This is exactly me EVERY game. But the outcome is: You get gen rushed and you get mocked for it :\

I believe that the only way to play this game should be the way to make the match fun for both sides and i say this because i play both sides so i know what playing lame both sides mean... But playing fair is NOT rewarding because the outcome is always the same: Gens goes fast and you have no way to match the unfairness of maps (See the pallet at the bathroom right in front of a jungle gym)

Now, anyone else believes that this game should be much more fair/fun and rewarding or it's just me? Because i don't think that escaping or 4king should be important things, not for me, but having challenges and enjoying the game should.

Why its only the killer who are unfair and the survivor are never unfair explain that to me. And what is fairness in this game?

Ok, I guess that makes sense. I tend to wait till I’m in an actual chase

I dont the second i save when i do that can be crucial for pgtw. I dont know for you but most of the time i use 2 bottle in a chase so having 3 bottle foe the entire chase dont matter for me

  • With the exaust addon i remove sprint burst. It tell me how many survivor are on that gen if they dont have sprint burst it gave them a slow start they can panic run in my direction and if no one is there i dont need to check it out and i can continu my rotation to the other gen.

  • It does a bit you cant trow your bottle high enough to get a survivor who is working on a gen when you are far from him

  • Use the solvent jug with the one one that increase your reload speed those 2 addon together are so good. Be careful with the indoor map they counter clown power a little

  • @Rivyn said:

When the BT survivor can body block and/or block the route to the rescuer, there is a problem. When the BT survivor will purposefully run at and hover around the killer in the hopes for a swing, there is a problem. When survivors can hook rush due to BT, knowing they have DS and Unbreakable to back them up and keep them safe, there is a problem.

BT is not OP, but it is abusable.

You explain this the best possible way good job

I really like Moris, I like the kill animation. i think its very thematic and adds thematic fun to the game. However I totally see how this ruins the game for everybody. BPS are low when its used and survivors games are cut short, which sucks. I dont want to discuss keys right now surely if moris get changed a key change will come as well.

    proposed change would be:

mori after 2 hooks. That way the only thing the add on saves is the last walk to a hook.

or take out moris all together and give every killer the passive to kill the last survivor.

Making mori work on the last hook is not the solution. Most of the time it will be faster to just hook someone and not waste 7k bp

Or hell, it could be both.

True but i mostly assume everyone got a good internet and they are wired. We all know wireless internet is not the best when you game

  • Ping depend on which server you get. You can live in Canada and you will get a server in Brazil so its not your fault but behavior fault

    The killer Sachiko

    The survivor Satoshi

I hate this perk even as killer Ive only used it once. So overpowered. I have a proposal to fix it. i was just wondering what the community thought about it.

I wouldnt mind making it more like rancor. Not a hex anymore and cant be cleansed but makes an obsession when last gen is popped. Still gets the haste and can 1 shot but only the obession. But no Mori kinda the poor mans Rancor is what im getting at. It always needs an obession so once this obession is killed it moves to another player

I know im going to take heat from certain people on this touchy subject and i understand its the killers last chance to get a W but i think it should be a chance for the killer to secure a kill or a couple with my proposed plan

    What does everyone think?????

You cant nerf noed whitout nerfing those second chance perk DS, BT and unbreakable. All of those perk reward bad gameplay in my opinion.

Remove or greatly reduce her ability to hear grunts of pain and she'd be fine to play against.

That first one is interesting. How are you going to remove looping? "If a survivor circles any object the entity stabs them in the foot"?

Im not a map designer so i have no idea how. but instead of having loop and trying to waste the killer time i think the game could be more interessting if the survivor were trying to escape the killer who chase him.

So, if Survivor left the cage next to the pyramid head and Killer, knowing that there is no borrowed time and DS, as well as exhaustion didn't reset, down this survivor, means that this survivor is bad in the game? lul?

That is the optimal play for the killer. My question is why are you getting rescue when the killer is close. The caged survivor is not completly at fault but in a way he did get cage so he did some missplay before that point but the one who uncage you is at fault he should never uncage you if the killer is close. This is a teamate missplay and the cage survivor pay the price for that mistake just like any team game

  • Bye loop ( you cant remove loop whitoit removing bloodlust)

    Bye nurse cooldown

    Bye lery

I don't think there is a "second chance" perk... so I'll explain

DS: you have to be hooked in the first place... what second chance are you getting?

BT: if killers are away from the hook it won't activate... where's the second chance (side note if I'm running STBFL I'll hit you anyway)

Unbreakable: you lost the chase and have an oppertunity to pick yourself up... Barely a second chance

DH: you lose the first half of a chase to be able to dodge an attack... Not exactly a second chance

Adrenaline: end game perk... What second chance do you get if yer dead before the end game starts?

    Anymore "second chance" perks

Ds you get hook and go on the nearest gen work on it for a minute even if the killer is near you dont care you cant get hook

Umbreakable you get slug by the killer you pick yourself up by yourself you run this with DS and you can do whatever you want after you get hook and the killer cant stop you.

BT you should not be able to unhook someone in the middle of a chase and ask him to take a hit so you can take some distance again

    Smaller hitbox yes

But he can make more precise shot then huntres since her hatchets have such a huge hitbox, meaning that in fine his smaller hitbox helps him more out i think

Nope you turn a corner and i shoot with deathslinger i will miss you but with huntress sadly for you you are hit.

  • Like you said this work both way when i have 2 survivor who kill themself on first hook, the third one DC and i win or lose the 50/50 for the hatch this game for me is a lost but the survivor who escape got a safety pip

    in Pips Comment by batax90
  • Key are dumb you can 3 gen yourself and escape with the hatch if one survivor is dead. Tunneling is not the response to beat a key the teamate can pick it up i dont know why people forget abput that.

Mori is just as stupid but at least you require more skill sabo squad, flashlight save, good looper and hidding when the killer is close to you all of that beat a mori.

Right now yes sound are bug i have some game were no one is playing iron will and i cant ear the survivor

  • @anarchy753 said:

I've gotta say, I flat out don't understand the devs' design pilosophy half the time.

Look at Huntress, she came in and they were like "ok, we have a ranged killer, so to compensate we're gong to make it so that survivors have a really large area that lets them know she's around."

Then Deathslinger comes out and it's like "ok, we have a ranged killer, so let's make him stealthy af, like no terror radius until you're already in shooting range, and add ons that can let him shoot you outside TR."

Deathslinger got smaller hit box if we compare with huntress so that probably the reasonning behind that and sont forget deathslinger range is 18 meter while huntress range is all map. Those are hige diference between those killer

  • @darwinsbrain said:

This is where the real comparison should be. I was reading the 50th thread this week with killers complaining about survivor second chance perks and I feel the best counter argument is all of the insta diown chances killers are given. Killers say perks like DS, BT, Unbreakable and Dead Hard reward survivors for making a mistake. Killers feel like they are cheated out of a kill when the have to hit a survivor a 3rd time before they can hook them. Well what about all the insta down powers a perks killers have? I feel cheated when I'm full health and I'm one hit by an Oni and I'm on the hook. Or vault a window and snap i'm in a trap. And while I can hit DS once a game if everything works out just right a lot of killer insta down powers last all match. The worst offender is the 'perfectly balanced' Hillbilly who can down you with his one hit saw from beginning to end with no cool down (rip). Lets look at all these unfair one hit down chances:

Base kit insta downs:Hillbilly, Cannibal, Myers, Ghost Face, Oni and Trapper (situational)

Add on insta downs: Huntress and Clown (Myers again but already in his base kit)

Perk insta downs: NOED, Devour Hope, Make Your Choice, Rancor, Haunted Grounds, Iron Maiden

Other insta down chances: Getting pulled off a Gen, Getting pulled from a locker, Getting grabbed during a hook save

So as you can see killer's have a lot of insta down chances in the game that they don't ever talk about when complaining about 2nd chance perks. So keep these in mind when a killer complains about DS or Borrowed Time being unfair. They have more than their share of get of jail free powers too.

And I know killers are going to say there is counter play to all these insta downs but there is counter play to the 2nd chance perks too.

TLDR: You can take survivor second chances perks away when you take away killer insta downs.

Im sorry to say this but it take a lot more skill hitting a survivor with billy, oni, etc... than a survivor landing a single skill check. I can land those skill check and i suck as a survivor.

One buff that hasn’t been mentioned is the immunity to firecrackers which old lightborne didn’t help against just if you are wondering :) but not many people run firecrackers

Firecrackers is the only way i can blind a killer i dont know why but i cant aim in this game

  • Shes too weak she rely on the survivor if she want to use het power. I will say her ultra rare addon is great but overall she suck hard

  • @IMhereRUN said:

NOTE: For this test, we will be operating under the understanding that all perks are at T3.

So many people (mostly survivor mains) do not comprehend how strong their over-excessive quantity of 2nd perks effect the game negatively. In order to fathom why this is an issue, you HAVE to understand how these perks effect the game as a whole. This means you need to look at the overall scheme of the game, NOT just your own biased opinion.

First, game facts! (no perks considered)

    1. Unbalanced game, heavily favoring survivors. Acceptable and predictable for a 4v1 strategic game.
    2. A survivor team that gets annihilated by a killer will still manage to safety pip at red ranks, or even pip-up. The same cannot be said for a killer that is destroyed.
    3. Survivors outnumber killers. This is also expected from a 4v1 game. Therefore, as the majority of the community, survivors have to be made happy, but survivors cannot even have a game without a killer player, so I think their side needs properly heard out from time to time.

Those are in-game facts that already ensure a challenging/stressful game for the killer side, but an easy/fun game for the survivor side.

Now let’s jump into perks. We’re going to accurately breakdown why some of these are meta crutches. To help illustrate this, we’re going to pretend that these perks have been created as KILLER PERKS instead of SURVIVOR PERKS.

    A. Decisive Strike

What it does: After being hooked, provides a second chance for 60 seconds. This is NOT an anti-tunnel perk as confirmed numerous times. I’m sure you other older players remember when DS was first released...you did NOT have to be hooked to use it. Why? Because it was designed as a 2nd chance, not just a 2nd chance from hooks. The perk gives you a free 2nd chance to reward you for losing multiple chases and (upon successful skill-check) prevents you from being hooked.

How this perk would work if it was designed for killer: Once per match, After a survivor is unhooked, they are cursed with a TELEPORT status effect for 60 seconds. If the player is downed within those 60 seconds, a killer can hit a skill-check to use DS and teleport the survivor to the hook furthest from the killer.

    B. Deadhard

What it does: Allows you to dash forward, being immune to attacks for the duration of the animation. Also works as a temporary speed boost to reach a tile you were not quite in range of due to out-position to help lengthen the chase. Can take away free hits from killers, can help an out-chased survivor regain distance.

Now, what if this was a killer perk? What would it do?: Use once every 60 seconds. Perform a lunge attack twice to normal range of your normal lunge. Any survivor within 3m of the killer that is injured is downed. This, like the survivor version, would give a killer a minor speed burst when found outpositioned to end the chase faster.

    C. Deliverance

What it does: upon obtaining a safe unhook, you can successfully unhook yourself if you have not been previously hooked. Causes broken for 60 seconds. This adds to the strength of the most powerful thing in the game: generator repair speeds. Now you can completely negate making a teammate get off a generator to save you, resulting in even faster gens, killing a vital piece of map pressure the killer has successfully earned.

How would this work as a killer perk: Once per match, Upon hooking a survivor, progressing generators equalling the number of players alive in the trial are blocked by the entity until the hooked player is unhooked. So if all 4 survivors are still alive, the Entity would block 3 generators that are progressing until the hooked survivor is rescued. Gives the unhooked survivor endurance for 60 seconds.

    D. Adrenaline

What it does: Once per game, upon completion of all generators, gives survivor one health slate and increases their movement speed to 150% for 5 seconds, causes exhaustion. This allows players towards the end of the game to focus on rushing gen speeds and not waste time healing. An injured survivor currently in a chase gets a nice speed boost and a new health state to put distance between them and the killer and negate the progress of the current chase the killer has already obtained.

How this would work as a killer perk: Once per match, after all generators are repaired, every survivor loses one health slate and you gain a 150% movement speed for 5 seconds. This means, if you’re on the other side of the map healthy, you are now injured. If you were already injured, you are now in the dying state.

We’ll stop there, but those are just some examples. Could you imagine playing VS a killer using these? The survivors would all rage quit and start playing killer. And yes, I know killer’s have NOED, but as it’s very easily disabled (even before ever being used), it is NOT worth mentioning. But if you insist!

    A. NOED

What it does: As long as a dull totem remains on the map, survivors are exposed and you gain a 4% speed increase when the exit gates are powered. This allows a killer to instadown players at the very end of the game.

How this would work as a survivor perk: Nope! I got a better idea!

Let’s say Decisive Strike was only powered by a small magical bush hidden in the map. By attacking this bush 5 times, Decisive Strike is no longer useable. You think killers would have an issue with a small secondary objective that indeed wastes 15 seconds, but counters a strong 2nd chance perk? C’mon, killers would be weedwacking everygame! An easily disabled perk is not worth mentioning.

The goal here, was to help the people that don’t understand how the game works to comprehend why these 2nd chance perks are so meta against killers. It’s the same reason survivors lost the “fear factor” of the game, and now (mostly) have more of a borderline cocky dimeanor. Because they know if they mess up or get out-played, their perks will carry them. If you look at the previously mentioned examples as if they were killer perks, you can see why they’re so crutch. I simply gave the perk the opposite effect.

Plz make the DS for the killer into a perk i want to per this with make your choice and i want the adrenawin for the killer i just want to survivor to have a taste of their own medicine XD

  • Its otz this guy is probably the best trapper you can find in this game

I play killer and solo survivor so unfortunately I live with potatos when I play survivor. I agree swing chains and jump rope are not problems by themselves but when you add on thanataphobia and dying light it becomes harder. Add on top of that pop and gens can be very difficult to get done. As for puddle placement yes and no. It might be difficult the first few times to get puddle placement down. However survivors tend to loop very predictable patterns. Once you know their movement it becomes much easier.

Personally i bought the game because of freddy so i have like 4k hour on him XD. Dying light is not that great of a perk its only a win more perk and most of the time it only affect 2 survivor the obsession is buff exept is repair speed and the survivor you chase is not affected because well you chase him i dont think he is cocky enough to start doing a gen in the middle of the chase . In my opinion freddy trive in chase so the hit and run strat is not great on him so thana is less effectif. In my opinion if you want to play forever freddy you are better with surge and surveillance .

Ps: i dont know why we call that forever freddy i play a lot of tcg and that kind of playstyle is call control

I think it’s more or less due to the addons and perks that every Freddy runs. 90% of the freddys in my region are what I call basic [bad word] freddys. Think swing chain and jump rope or swap in paint brush for the extra sweat. Perks always pop, bbq, thanataphobia, dying light or swap out dying light for noed for the extra sweat.

Sitting on gens for what feels like an eternity in one game is not overly fun. Then there is the spam the pools. Don’t have to worry about thinking how to mind game. Just spam and spam and you’ll catch up with no effort.

Thats one of the reasons why I won’t play Freddy. I think his skill cap is way to low. Get easier 4ks without having to try as much. For the same effect of slowing survivors down at loops I prefer clown. Higher skill cap and you can’t spam his bottles. I’ve been having a lot of fun as clown lately.

That the thing swing chain and jump rope add less than 10 sec on a gen and the survivor need to be asleep for those addon to work. I agree in loop he is strong if the survivor is asleep but awake its feel like you are playing clown whitout any bottle. The skill cap is a problem i wish the ceilling could be higher but dont forget if freddy tp in a chase and catch you, you know that guy play freddy a lot its not that easy to pull off you need to know the timing and how to predict the survivor movement. The build you encounter is not that great in my opinion you spend more time in the trial so unless your team are potato you should escape relativly easy if you dont seek for attention because that what he want.

Honestly it's been a trend at BHVR for the past year to make really bad addons

I know im lucky my main killer is freddy so even if he have 3 ok addon he dont need them to do well. But i think the killer who got the worst addon is demo is best one is brown XD

  • Bubba base kit is better i think but they murder all the addon

Heck, what was unexpected was even survivors called me "boring".

I got flame because i use my power too much with nurse in my opinion survivor like to flame other survivor and killer for the mistake they made

Despite the hate, the criticism, the feedback on the ptb and likely the player satisfaction survey thats soon to come following this gutting, theyve already spent money on making sounds for his overheat mechanic. Meaning this is likely set in stone and will never be looked at again because "we did it guys". Another one in the books of boring killers to play. Billy will now have to run around the map staring at a cool down bar. while survivors do gens on the opposite side of the map. Watched true play yesterday with an ultra rare add on and a very rare add on in the same game and he just barely one due to survivor error. Nothing he did couldve decided anything while his cooldown was on, and it was frankly boring to watch. Im sorry devs, but you dont know what youre doing lol

The overheat mecanic is fine the problem is the addon take live billy for example base kit he is not that great but put some addon and you have a drifting billy or instant saw billy that make him amazing. Now take the ptb billy put is best addon and you got something that horrible and weaker than live billy whitout any addon

You should try oni again is a lot like billy exept he take some time before he get is power.
