Freddy

Im trying to understand why some people want to nerf freddy. He have a strong base kit but its not op most of the ability he have got a cooldown yeah i can spam my trap but you need to be asleep to activate them. Falling asleep take close to a minute and its easy to wake up. He can tp every 45 or 50 seconde this is a long time. The addon he got are so so he have 3 usefull addon the rest are not that great or good for a meme build. So why do you want to nerf him

Comments

  • Because survivor mains want every top tier killer to be nerfed to the ground.

Now billy is gone, freddy and spirit are next.

  • your right and then only bubba will be left at the top lol i guess thats one way you get to s tier

    True, true.

Devs keep ignoring high rank survivor gameplay and SWF and cater to "baby" survivors.

The game will end up being bully simulator for SWF.

  • Cause hes a easy killer to play and barely has any consequences for the actions that you can preform with him.

  • I think that some people want him changed, not because he's too strong per se, but because he is incredible easy to play. Extremely low risk, very high reward. He requires little to no skill to learn and is one of the strongest killers in the game. I know some people also believe that besides waking up, he has no real counter in chase. With snares, if you step on them you slow down and he gets the hit, if you avoid them you've lost distance and he gets the hit. With pallets some people find it unfun that you sort of have to guess which ones are fake and which aren't. This would make him annoying and boring to them, similar to how spirit does. Another big thing that sort of links back into the first part about being very easy to play is that he really has no downside to him. Pretty much all killers have some form of downside to counteract with their power. Some have stuns, others have major cooldowns, some need to gain their power over time, etc. He has none of these (besides a cooldown on his teleport, which isn't the part people complain about). Overall, I think most of the people who want him changed or nerfed just think it's a bit unfair how easy he is to play and how strong he is compared to that, along with the factors of guessing, no realistic counters and no downsides to his power.

Keep in mind that these are not necessarily my personal opinions, just ones that I've seen from others.

Survivors literally require no skill but holding M1 and getting chased for 40-60 seconds and using second chance perks. Why is it so bad when there is a killer that requires "little skill"?

  • because survivors cry about any killer that kills them. You see tons of post about nerf freddy, doctor, legion, spirit, pyramid head.

  • I think they need to make more strong killers with a low skill cap. Killers SHOULD be easy to learn and use. Freddy being strong with a low skill cap is exactly what the game needs.

I think it’s more or less due to the addons and perks that every Freddy runs. 90% of the freddys in my region are what I call basic [bad word] freddys. Think swing chain and jump rope or swap in paint brush for the extra sweat. Perks always pop, bbq, thanataphobia, dying light or swap out dying light for noed for the extra sweat.

Sitting on gens for what feels like an eternity in one game is not overly fun. Then there is the spam the pools. Don’t have to worry about thinking how to mind game. Just spam and spam and you’ll catch up with no effort.

Thats one of the reasons why I won’t play Freddy. I think his skill cap is way to low. Get easier 4ks without having to try as much. For the same effect of slowing survivors down at loops I prefer clown. Higher skill cap and you can’t spam his bottles. I’ve been having a lot of fun as clown lately.

That the thing swing chain and jump rope add less than 10 sec on a gen and the survivor need to be asleep for those addon to work. I agree in loop he is strong if the survivor is asleep but awake its feel like you are playing clown whitout any bottle. The skill cap is a problem i wish the ceilling could be higher but dont forget if freddy tp in a chase and catch you, you know that guy play freddy a lot its not that easy to pull off you need to know the timing and how to predict the survivor movement. The build you encounter is not that great in my opinion you spend more time in the trial so unless your team are potato you should escape relativly easy if you dont seek for attention because that what he want.

I play killer and solo survivor so unfortunately I live with potatos when I play survivor. I agree swing chains and jump rope are not problems by themselves but when you add on thanataphobia and dying light it becomes harder. Add on top of that pop and gens can be very difficult to get done. As for puddle placement yes and no. It might be difficult the first few times to get puddle placement down. However survivors tend to loop very predictable patterns. Once you know their movement it becomes much easier.

Personally i bought the game because of freddy so i have like 4k hour on him XD. Dying light is not that great of a perk its only a win more perk and most of the time it only affect 2 survivor the obsession is buff exept is repair speed and the survivor you chase is not affected because well you chase him i dont think he is cocky enough to start doing a gen in the middle of the chase . In my opinion freddy trive in chase so the hit and run strat is not great on him so thana is less effectif. In my opinion if you want to play forever freddy you are better with surge and surveillance .

Ps: i dont know why we call that forever freddy i play a lot of tcg and that kind of playstyle is call control

I believe its because before ruin got changed and his addons got nerfed the games would last forever. You didnt have to 3 gen as a freddy since he could tp to any gens. The games would last for such an insane amount of time compared to any other game. Yes it would definitely fit the playstyle of control from tcg. But unlike tcg this games matches are closer to aggro with some midrange matches. So any type of control type playstyle would be hated, since people in general, like fast matches.

Personally as a killer main. I too would like him nerfed. A long with spirit and nurse. I want those killers (possibly oni and Billy too) brought closer to our mid tier killers, for one simple reason. If they nerf the strongest killers there are Behaviour has to do something to nerf Survivors as well. I usually play all killers. And while I can do fairly well (not 4k with 5 gens left) on even bottom tier killers Its a lot more work for a lot less of a reward on those killers than it is on the top 5 killers.

If they nerf the best killers especially those with the higest amount of mobility. Maybe we can see some more nerfs to map sizes/loops. Maybe we can see some actual good new perks, or buffs to old perks. Since now the best killers cant become insanely op if they introduce som new perk that just happens to be actually damn good on Nurse.

"Oops this perk is actually pretty insane on nurse and spirit for some reason. Well its no big deal we'll nerf that aspect a little bit and until then its not gonna be out of control".

I realise that this is unlikely to happpen. But thats my personal reason why I dont mind them being nerfed at all.

  • There’s always going to be unjustified complaints based solely on the poster’s own opinion.

A killer that has both chase potential and map pressure (you know...balance!) is just too hard for survivors to cope with. It’s not just Freddy. Old Nurse, Old Billy, Spirit, Doctor, Legion...

I’m surprised they don’t whine about Demos.

Many (not all) survivors want to exclusively play against a killer with a huge weakness. Because now they don’t sweat as much. Playing VS a killer that can do everything, stresses them out in a match. You know, how a typical killer game goes against a good survivor team.
