I said the same thing. Yea it needs to be dealt with....who knows though. Maybe they have something in the fix already, just a guess of course.
Nothing will be done since it is a survivor thing. The only time things get changed are in the face of really bad publicity like colour blind mode.
-
This explains why i get broken out when nobody is visible.
-
Its rare for me to use addons and i maintain rank 2-1. When i do use them though it is like i am using a new killer.
Trickster with iri photo and Fizz-soda or caged shoes is pure evil.

My opinion is that too many people place too much emphasis on the fact that he's an M1 killer. They make it sound as though just because he doesn't have a special attack that can shoot lasers or something he's inherently "weak". I see the same argument used for other killers as well. When was it decided that just because a character doesn't have a long-range instant down power it means that they suck?
Again, I'm not targeting you specifically. These are just arguments I hear from so many people so often. Like the inability to catch up, for example. I've never had trouble catching up with anyone as Wraith, especially since his buff. Take a circular route around the target so they can't see the blur, flank them from about ten feet away, uncloak get the free super lunge hit, then as soon as you're able just cloak again, race right up to them, uncloak, hit them for the down. This has happened literally every time I've ever tried it, though it's certainly worth noting that I don't even like PLAYING as the Wraith. I feel too guilty and I'm sick of the DCs. So I can only rely on my own anecdotal experience.
Honestly, if the speed and / or distance of his post-cloak lunge was reduced, and if his ability to cloak and uncloak silently was removed, I wouldn't have that much of a problem with him. He'd still have his abilities, people just wouldn't be able to exploit them so easily. To me it's obvious that he was given his bell as a tell to let players know when he was uncloaking and thus time to run. Why turn around and remove it? Why also give the guy a massive lunge that can be executed basically the second he phases into view (which also seems faster than it used to be)?
I'm fine with going against just about any killer in this game. I accept my losses and acknowledge my own shortcomings. But when there's a killer who - let's face it, has a very strong chance of doing damage before you even know who you're up against and where they might be - that's just not fun. At all. Wraith may be more "balanced" in terms of what he's like against other killers, or his former self, but he's not balanced in terms of survivor counterplay. That's the problem I have with him.
Define what you call counterplay.

It's crazy dude, like some of these responses feel like any possible excuse as to why this perk isnt OP with builds and such.
It just proves the point that they've never went against it as hard as you do at Rank 1, or you're just simply downplaying it.
Its worse for me since i have low ping. survivors can react for dead hard instead of guess like it was back in the Peer to peer days
-
The best part is when you do 4 gens and they 2 man the last one and exit out the gate.
-
People will defend this perk just like they defended decisive strike and infinite windows.
-
I already get the sweat squads in my region so nothing changes for me. The thing i am excited for is the people that say "killer is easy" to get a dose of reality. This is just assuming survivors don't throw every game in protest.

Bro! i need to do this for the game to run on my pc. /s

Are you serious ? Are you aware a click click flashlighting can't hurt you as killer ?
It's just a survivor strat' to test your mental health. And apparently it works well...
Just down him with your M1 attack or deny him or shut down your headphones...
But calling it toxic or to ask BVHR to ban someone for that is just a joke... or a bait ?...
Or to send you into a seizure if you are prone to that kind of thing.

I wouldn't cry if they gave her the billy treatment.

How exactly is the pallet mechanic highly flawed? The sever rejects the last action. So either the pallet is dropped first or the killer hits first but has terrible internet. Why should the other players suffer from poor latency?
The vaults you speak of are not part of the new hit validation system. They have only added pallet stuns. The vaults are the same old spaghetti code as before.
Low ping has always screwed you over with vaults. Watch any twitch streamer play killer and they get hits on survivors that have fully vaulted because most of them sit around 60 ping. While people like me and detailed have really low ping and will hit the window frame or pallet with the survivor still on them.

If I run a totem build (Small Game & Counterforce) in solo queue and do all totems by myself cause no one else cares about them, my team will be dead at 4-5 gens (and I am gonna point out I am really fast at finding them, know pretty much all possible spots on all maps but the time it takes even with Counterforce speed buff to cleanse and to run across the map to all locations is enough to ######### your team up)
Fun fact. 4 survivors 5 totems, just like generators 🤔
The problem this game has is that twitch streamers and youtubers have drilled into peoples heads that totems are not worth doing.

LT is fine.

Legion was nerfed, his gameplay changed from being able to down in his power to just being able to get everyone injured and mending (which he could already previously do). That's a nerf, no matter how you want to phrase it. If you wish to say that it was deserved, I'd agree. But it was still a major nerf.
I actually prefer old ruin, because it helps a lot more early (when you can only pressure 1 person) than current ruin. Also, for a hex to only be helpful later on, and revealed at the start of the game. Come on, it's basically useless imo. At least old ruin meant most people missed great skill checks (nobody hits them 100% of the time, even the greater players with ,6k+ hours in the game, so it still gets use).
They also made him slower.

I don't know. Opening the exit gates whenever you want.....how is that any different than survivors committing suicide on their first hook? The match is still ending prematurely. I can picture killers opening the gates because ruin was cleansed or they got sent to haddonfield.
You can't because they are giving you the opportunity to kill them.. not that there is much of one.

I take Killer role very casual, focus on the rift challenges and rituals. Getting Kills is secondary, hooks and BBQ stacks are better. If everyone plays well and escapes, good on them.
If you log into Killer with the mindset of sweating the kills, you are going to get upset over getting outplayed.
Eh.. its more outperked and rngesus hating you.

I've actually had it happen in the open a couple of times I don't understand it. I hit them got all the sound effects and they didn't go down. they weren't cheating because I downed them a few seconds later.
I attacked a console user, swung through them with the game forcing the attack animation out of my lunge and just before i cleaned my weapon they dead harded. It was that delayed but the server just said nope!
-
Bang- Bang- use your brain and don't be stupid.
-
Its nice to see a 100 ping blight rush to my side of the pallet only to be teleported back and stunned instead of being hit as survivor but it does the same to a low ping killer vs a high ping survivor.
-
@DetailedDetriment said:
Having a hit/down taken from you because of this new, highly flawed mechanic can mean the difference between winning and losing a match. It's a nightmare for killers that already lose hits because of their extremely low ping. For example, as a survivor, I'll get hit after the vault animation has finished, but as the killer, I'll lose hits when the survivor is mid-vault. Incredibly unfair for players with 20 ms ping to lose because the opposing player has 100 ms ping.
THIS!!!! I keep complaining about this trash system but it seems most of the playerbase lives on 70+ ping and has no idea. They keep trying to explain it t me but every explanation boils down to survivor pressed space on their screen that is 2m ahead of what the killer sees. the server stores that and dooms the killer when they go to make the hit on their screen in their perceived reality of time.
AKA survivor client sided.

Be as brutally honest with me as you can. Whats gonna happen if i get used to them?
Plaid flannel is a no but shadowborn is fine. Every "pro nurse" i see on twitch uses stretched rez to get the same thing without the perk. Depends on your ethics. Cheat and have more build variety or play as intended and slightly limit your builds.

And then you get 5 RPD offerings in a row.

I wouldn't mind the game staying disabled.

If that's how you want to take the information then feel free to
Fits with my experience. Survivors around my ping don't give me trouble. only high pingers have made me hit validate.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2462594#Comment_2462594
I should never get validated with my ping because my info should always reach it first.
Allow me to use an analogy to show why this isn't the case. You have to race someone to a finish line that is 100m from where you are, but the person your racing needs to move 250m. Say you can run at 1 meter each second, and someone else can run at only 0.5 meters each second. If you both leave at the same time, you will always beat them.
However, if person B begins to run (needing 500 seconds to reach the finish line) before you (who needs only 100 seconds), say 450 seconds earlier, then they will beat you.
This is what is happening. Person B, with their worse connection, is sending their information much earlier than you send yours, so it is still registered by the server.
Again, please read the post both @Angelicus23 and I have sent because it explains this perfectly.
so the mystical invisible survivor that is 2m ahead of where i see them pressed space in the future and the server stored that information dooming the killer to a stun. sounds like the worse a survivors ping the more of an advantage they have.
-
No point. its a survivor thing. brick wall and all that.
-
@Angelicus23 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2462544#Comment_2462544
the only advantage it gives is for the one with better ping, regardless if it's the killer or the survivor, because laggy killers were able to hit even seconds after the pallet is dropped. It now is fair, laggy survivors aren't getting any kind of advantage.
12 ping vs 60 ping and i got hit validated.
Explain that one beyond it being survivor client determined.
-
Best you can do is play ranged killers like Nemesis for example. They can't block the tentacle strike.
-
It isn't a bug. They "made the server" determine the hit and totally not the survivors client /s
TLDR survivors have cried about pallet hits (without understanding how they work) for years and bhvr finally gave them the advantage.
-
Run no way out and NOED and relish in the salt.
-
The Where did they go? achievement is stupid as a solo survivor.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Evil Incarnate is one of them.

I got all of these :D
Skilled huntres was easy, Downed a survivor and just camped the body at max deerstalker range with a hatchet ready.

The problem with slowing down gens is all the slow down perks. This is why they are in the game if you don’t want gens to fly.
Corrupt- swf can literally just wait out the timer in lockers or corner of the map (had this happen a couple of times) Now you have 3 perks for the rest of the game. They can also just rush the unblocked gens and it is like nothing ever happened.
Ruin..... bang, now you have 3 perks.
pop will get some value but you really really need to earn it and hope survivors are not 2 manning gens. good luck reaching the gen before it pops on big maps.
Everything else is a skill check or requires luck or heavy investment from the killer for little payoff and can be ignored.

I have recorded/streamed every match I have played in DBD. Again...4 hackers in 3800 hours - all reported. If I - or my chat - had suspected more - I would have reported them. Like most things on these forums - I think some people's accounts of how many hackers they have encountered are exaggerated. One-upmanship is pretty prevalent on these forums after all.
You must have a decent pool of survivors then. I have had 3 single and 2, 4 man teams of rage cheaters (flying, instant gens, spam hooking etc) all within the last year and 20 suspected ones between killer and survivor. After 5k hours i know how many loops a survivor can do how far you should get after breaking a pallet etc...

At least the red stain makes gameplay a bit more interesting. Its a bit stupid all things considered, but it gave life to the mindgames that make chases a lot more interesting. its a necessary evil for less boring matches.
Not really.
All you are doing is forcing the killer to work around crap mechanics that (with the sound NERFS) can screw them over so much. I have lost count how many times i have run behind a killer face planting a wall to hide the stain and they have no idea.
Meanwhile a survivor just needs to watch the corner and time it.
-
People don't play the male characters because they are taller, louder and for some reason kick dust up when they run while females don't.
This causes a problem where they don't want to invest time in characters people don't play and that increases the problem because there is nothing good to make them wear if you do want to play them.
-
The first one was the devs giving the finger to killers with new hit detection "
not" determined by the survivors client at all and totally determined by the better ping as they demonstrated in the livestream /sThe second is the survivor lag switching.
-

I agree! Survivors need more ways to stall the killer and drive them away from the game. Queue times are not long enough yet.

Killers mains who use noed are garbage, but it's a perfectly legitimate perk to choose.
What about killers that use NOED and don't get to the end game? you just played against a killer with 3 perks and lost.
