to be fair they have nerfed DS repeatedly and BT was recently changed to be fairer overall so you cant say they ignore survivor perks.
Also, even though undying was recently nerfed its still meta...
They side grade survivor perks, making sure they still do the same thing but slightly less tedious to the killer, but still just as game changing and strong. The only killer like nerf they ever got was mettle of man.
Killer perks/killers get shut down completely and often drop from use entirely. Undying is still meta out of desperation since killers don't have much else. It will slowly die out as killers drop hex totems for the corrupt - Deadlock combo, since hexes only last 1 minute max and the new boon perk will make that worse.
I don't bother with ruin any more.

It is a little amusing to me, that so many people lament the stale meta, but in the same breath will argue against anything strong being added to the game.
My prediction is after 2 weeks, we won't see any boon totems in solo queue matches. The risk of someone trying to stop noed and clearing all dull totems while the boon totem guy is trying to find one or the gens getting completed in a zone and the match moves on from that area of the map leaving the boon useless in the corner, will be too high and the benefit will be marginal.
You don't break the old meta by bringing in equally or more busted perks. You gut the strong ones so people begin to use something else.
They have zero issues doing this for killer perks, but cower in a corner when survivor perks are mentioned and it is sad.

Do you genuinely think it's fun for survivors to constantly deal with a chain hunt? Honestly ask yourself that question. Something can be fun for one side but unhealthy overall.
What's fun for killer? Do you really think running a circle around a low wall loop with 100% visibility on each other and not being able to do anything about it is fun? (hay bales and just farm map in general)
Do you really think trash survivors that just W and predrop while going down the instant they try to mindgame but win anyway because gens speed to kill speed is heavily unbalanced are fun to face?
you think 4 people sweating on coms not for "fun" but to win is fun for killer?
you think the all mighty E to outplay perk is FUN for the killer?
You don't care... as long as you can make baby killer montages where you loop them and make them look stupid you are happy.

BBQ and chilli. There are so many better perks but it feels like wasting time if i don't get that extra bp.
Kindred on survivor.

Your steam64id stays always the same. You can't change it. What you are talking about is the steam URL where you can put custom name in it. But that's seperate. Once you have the real steamID (with all the numbers) you get always redirected to that account no matter what custom URL you use
Sadly they can direct you to innocent peoples steam profiles :(

That's very <insert phone company here> of them. One support answers and fixes the progress and then another answers, sees the fix and assumes hack lol.

You're funny.
I think a person who mostly plays solo, it'll be great. And I for one, am tired of playing the same 4 meta perks so this will be refreshing.
Good day.
Nothing changed. It has always been the same 3 solid meta perks and the 4th being a utility meta perk.

Survivors already have enough reasons to cleanse Hexes. The reason to disable the respective Perk is already enough. You are acting like if Survivors go to a Gen, see Ruin and are like "Yeah, its fine".
There are hexes that don't instantly tell you they exist.

Ok well. I agree, I shouldn’t be able to get a free escape if I “box myself in”.
But yeah I’m pretty sure you get what I mean.
also calm down.
No.. I am tired of people bitching about low tier killers and getting them dumpstered.
I can't physically play Deathslinger anymore because of the new slow aim giving me motion sickness. That is thanks to terrible people that probably never played the killer beyond a daily, assuming they even have the killer unlocked, complaining about something that did have counters.
Even if the counters were situational (los blockers) or required actual skill (predicting the killers behaviour and moving out of the way or tricking them) they were still there and he had trash map pressure so would usually lose to gens anyway. I have stupidly low ping so i don't know the experience of a killer with trash ping (60+) but survivors would react to me raising the gun every time before the game would physically let me shoot.

If you miss with his power, that’s on you. And no, it’s not easy to dodge his power, especially when you can’t even go left or right because there’s no space.
I just lost braincells reading this... So, because YOU boxed yourself in, it is somehow the killers fault and you feel it is op that you can't just drop a pallet or vault a window in 100% safety?
High mmr indeed.Actually i take that back. The high mmr survivors are the ones that hug gens like their life depends on it and are fully carried by terrible balance decisions around gen speed and shift +W pre drop meta.

I don't play the ptb so I don't know how the game feels yet but I play both sides & I can see why some killers aren't fans.
Personally when I play survivor I break the majority if not all totems so honestly as someone who'll probably never use boons it's annoying for me too as breaking totems at least in the short term won't be appreciated by your teammates.
I can see an increase in noed incoming though I doubt most totems will get broken & if it gets down to 1 gen the killer just has to make sure they have 1 dull totem close by.
& even though I don't use hex perks as a killer I wouldn't be against killers lighting their own to activate their perks (unless its a hex that activates after certain conditions like noed & devour ect)
It would stop a hex being destroyed 30 seconds into the game. Let the killer choose the totem they feel most suitable while they have to take the time to find & light one they then can't complain later. (Well they will they'll say they had to waste time finding & a few seconds lighting it but can't please everyone)
Put simply, Killers just don't have enough time to do anything but chase or they lose.

Will you look at that, I read the perk wrong. Woops.
Inner Strength is still more efficient, as is just... Having a Green Medkit on you.
It isn't if you run out of totems or your team bless / break them. Inner strength is also worse team wise and screw the killers pressure wise.
Think about it. You may be able to heal yourself (after wasting time finding a totem and standing in a locker) but your team will still force you off a gen to heal them or be an easy down. With the totem set up near you, you don't waste time finding the next totem for inner, you don't waste time healing others and they will take longer for the killer to down.
If the killer finds your totem then you get free wasted time making them constantly walk over and snuff it out while your team does gens. Assuming you put it somewhere far from gens or the top floor of a building etc.
-
Can't give survivors a downside to perks can we?
@NomiNomad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2553911#Comment_2553911
Circle of Healing would still be less efficient than just getting a good medkit or using Inner Strength. If solo healing, it's the same as Self-Care, which we all know is incredibly inefficient. The reason the perk could seem busted was because of the stacking, which was removed. Or the multiple Survivor's standing in there healing, but let's be real, how often are Survivor's going to take the time to run over to the Boon totem or bless one, just so they can heal?
Shadow Step is nowhere near busted imo. It's straight-up bad as far as I'm concerned. If the Survivor is Injured you still have blood and sound (if they aren't using Iron Will) to track, and if they aren't injured, and the Aura Reading block barely matters imo. If you suddenly see the Survivor leave no scratch marks, congrats, you probably found their boon totem.
Clairvoyance is just bad.
Solo healing is the same as a green medkit. It is busted and it is a joke they even think healing isn't a big deal.
-
Nope. Give it time and it will become the new DS like complaint perk/s.
-
but.. but i remember people saying killer is EZ and they never lose before they added the SBMM in the game. Where are they now and why are so many complaining ?
-
Flashbangs are basically flashlights for noobs.
Yes you still need to time it, but the window for the blind is much larger and they have a substantially wider blind angle. It got you because of the hit animation making you slightly bend down.

Okay. I don't really see a huge issue with that though.
Seems kinda dumb, but a lot of things seem kinda dumb to me.
Well possibly in this case we will miss out on the voice lines and new cosmetics unless you buy some crypto and purchase the NFT from what i can see.
-
@Pulsar said:
I have no idea what an NFT is.
Basically, you open paint, draw a squiggle and get it authorised as an NFT. Now it has your name attached with a stamp of authenticity. People can still copy the squiggle and use it at a wallpaper but it isn't "authentic"
-
OI! this cat and mouse game about outplaying your opponent and juking/ hiding, doesn't have graphics settings that let me see everything, Or a fov slider that removes stealth!! why don't they add things that COD and CSGO games from a different and unrelated genre, have?
-
So nft owners get the voice lines?...
-
The "good" survivors are all cheating in swf groups to make the game GGEZ leaving you with the dregs and trolls.
Survivors that do nothing but focus gens and escape are better survivors in the eyes of the new mmr so you will get stuck with urban evading Claudettes for a while because they get the hatch or door.
-
Shove it in an inconvenient place for the killer to get to and enjoy having zero pressure against you and maximum gen efficiency because you don't need to waste time healing others.
If the killer takes the time to break the totem then thats a win win because they just spent 20 seconds walking to the totem and then 20 seconds walking back. You just got a 2 man gen done for free! and you can just walk on over and pop it back on the totem.
Its busted and will be constantly complained about like old DS.
-
Pinboy is quite good if you master box spawn predictions and also good on smaller maps. He gets destroyed on indoor maps and large maps against survivors with half a brain that don't run him to the box.
I would say he is quite balanced... sadly that doesn't mean anything in this game and it all comes down to how "unfun" he is for the SURVIVORS experience. If they deem him "boring" and can't 1 man loop him for 20 gens straight then get ready for nerfs.
-
It was based of the complaining more than anything. Survivors want to run a killer for 5 gens and make youtube videos of it and the devs seem to agree.
I just wanted all seeing blood toned down. Touching the basekit was too far and uncalled for.
-
Nothing. How do you think i tanked my mmr :)
-
The developers and the direction they are taking the game. Waiting for VHS to come out.
-
I started to rank my self deranked killer back up and this got more common the more i won. My wait times also got longer and longer and longer.
Matches are instant in the lower mmr.

There should be an effect similar to some perks, where survivors need to work at least 5 continous seconds on a gen before stopping the regression. So that if they just tap the gen it does not go back to regressing.
Sadly the devs already commented on survivors tapping the gen for 0.00001 second to stop regression and they think it is a "FUN" mechanic and won't change it.
AKA they cower in the corner at the thought of upsetting survivors.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you don't report, no action is taken because there's nobody watching every single trial. Because no action is taken, you then claim the system doesn't work because the cheater you faced didn't get banned.
Hard to trust the system when everyone knows about the guy who streams themselves cheating and nothing happens.
-
This is how they get a killer nerfed e.g. Deathslinger and spirit.
Devs see the DC's and then conclude that the killer isn't piss weak and thus not fun so gut them.
-
DS is fine.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2542445#Comment_2542445
Why should it? play Nurse or Blight if you wanna be strong. You can't choose a subpar killer and then complain about survivors. I swear, killers think the best killers should be over powered and the worst should be balanced lol... Not how that works.
"and people that understand to bait him away from the box in chase." you didn't read it all.
-
Because it countered iron will. We can't have killer things trump survivor perks can we?

Not everyone thinks the way you do, suiciding against Pinhead just screws over the rest of your team, they might enjoy going against him.
And sure, Engineers Fang is arguably a bit op right now, having barely any downside to such a huge upside, but still.
Also, I thought Pinhead is generally considered to be a bit weak, or have people changed their mind on that?
Low tier survivors think he is op but swf destroy him and people that understand to bait him away from the box in chase.

I do. A bulk of the maps are disgusting.
Do you consider Badham maps balanced ? When they can have a 2 story with all windows open, shack, house of pain, school of pain ?
What about any cold winds where you corn blindness is worse then ever. Can't see auras, they're pretty big, AND got buffed long walls in their reworks...What about the disgusting map set up I faced the other day. Where they had a jungle gym in to cow tree, in to an LT, in to a haystack, in to shack in to a other jungle gym ? Does that sound balanced ? Sure spirit and nurse can ignore it. Blight, oni ? Not so much.....So that leaves out 22 of 24 killers...? Cool.
If you're keeping count that's 10 maps so far.
Do we need to discuss how broken HadonHell is ?
What about the game ? Where you can throw as many pallets as you want, and can't mind game mostly any of them.
What about Ormond ? It's huge with pretty crazy structures. And even if you're using blight. He slides off of anything. The only time I don't groan getting that map is using nurse
What about Groaning Storehouse...? Do you think that set up is fair ?
What about RPD ? NO ONE likes that dumpster fire of a map
I just listed a MAJORITY of the maps that e en exist. That most killers can't handle..Does that not sound survivor sided to you ?
Storehouse makes me want to quit when it loads in. Everyone just runs directly to the little window loop and there is nothing you can do but lose 3 gens and brute force it.

Also @ topic 3k/4k every game shouldn't be what every killer should be. 2k is what the devs aim for so that's what every killer should be; nothing more, and also nothing less.
Pinhead suffers from being a lovely little solo q stomper and vs coordinated teams who can figure out who to solve the box he tragically begins to flop.
sadly they will ignore that point like they did with Deathslinger and dump him in the trash because of "FUN".
"fun" boils down to being able to make all the calls and only fail if you, the survivor, make the mistake while the killer just reacts like a good little robot.
-
I just hate that the "buffs" are in addons that you won't always have instead of to the basekit of killers.
No non totem killer perk buffs, basically meaning there were zero perk buffs since totems usually go within the first 30 to 60 seconds of the game. while non removable survivor perks got crazy buffs. They got the totem buff killer have been demanding for years.

Are you implying that running 99% sprint burst during a chase doesnt extend the chase?
To have that at the exact moment you need it means you were being useless and not doing generators or you were lucky.
Or cheating.. I had a survivor with sb always ready to the point i timed it and they were getting it back before the 40 second requirement.
-
The slow zoom in gives me motion sickness so yes.

In the higher ranks hex totems don't last past the 1 minute mark. I have stopped using them and started using corrupt and other perks. Nothing really does anything but grasping at straws can't hurt can it?

You raise a good thought there: not saying this is the reason at all, but since SBMM went live, people have been reporting cheats much more often. Is there a possibility the new system may have made it easier for hackers to get through?
Its concentrating them in the higher ranks.

So to get fair games as killer we have to let survivors win on purpose ?
Its pointless though. You gain mmr faster than you lose it, so you will be back where you are really fast if you start playing to win.
-
@Altarf said:
If we're going based on the rumours on how SBMM works, this is because it's mainly based off time spent in the match and how many kills/if you escape. This is a bit of a simple and bad system, but it's just a rumour so take it with a grain of salt.
The problem comes when you realise the killer will ALWAYS be in the match until the game ends. Meaning they have the most time of all players spent in the match, and as such, will naturally be "ranking up" in MMR faster than a survivor would because of how the system works.
I was able to downrank quite fast by maxing out every emblem while only 2 hooking survivors and letting them all live. I don't think the leak is false.
-
The sad thing is that the survivors are not tryharding at all. Watch any streamer playing survivor and they are goofing off and relaxed because they have time to do that and the game mechanics allow it.
-
@killer998 said:
When you take the box hostage the chains will hunt only you and not the team but it's get more aggressive the longer you hold it hostage.
I actually find him to be quite a balanced killer. He's fun to play, fun to play against.
He has the best 4v1 in the game for a killer and that's something you need to remember here. A lot of what you're saying seems to come across that you find him frustrating in your 1v1. The games not a 1v1 it's a 1v4 and he just has the mechanic for it.
With Ruin, you stuck around too long. You need to get the box, and then cleanse the ruin again that's his 1v4.
Someone must always be on the box with pinhead, it's just how it is, and that's a good mechanic to have it's another objective for the survivor, and killer as both sides obtaining the box is beneficial.
So long as the box is down, you're fine. When he hits a chain, just simply dodge as best you can, and use the environment to break them.
Keep facing him and eventually you'll get better.
Woah now, Are you really asking survivors to do more than M1 a gen or hold shift W and press space when needed in a chase? You know anything outside of that gets called "boring" Or a lose lose situation because it is way to difficult.
I am fully expecting them to destroy hoarder and franklins with the box and probably weaken chainhunt and his chase mechanic because it isn't "FUN" for the lower to middle class survivors.
