Friendly survivor main here, stepping into enemy territory.
From what I read, people take this game way too seriously.
Lmao.
Look lets not be childish about this, if you are a survivor main you are already kinda part of the problem.
Play both sides or otherwise keep your opinion to yourself, you cant talk about something you know nothing about.
-
matyches are all over the place, its almost helping tbh.
Like you can get completely and utterly bullied one match and then utterly dominate the next.
Purely because every survivor and its mother are on red ranks.
It might just work in the games favor because if anything makes you quit, its getting bullied game after game.
-
Yes.... wait no.....but yes......we dont know really, wait a month after its release and im sure many will have figured out all the quirks and functions and synergies with the killer so a proper conclusion can be formed.

It's not about the number of kicks - it's about how fast the kicks are done. You still get two "kicks", but they're 20% faster overall.
yes I know how it works, im just saying its more fun? interesting? cool? if it were just 1 kick to indicate the perk and its function.
Giving Dead Hard a dedicated animation also did not change the perk fundamentally, but its more clear what is going on and frankly just seems more realistic and fun/cool/interesting with it.
-
@Masterkit said:
that would be like 50% faster, would be stupidly strong and fast you wouldnt be able to get any distance
That can be balanced out, I think in general it being a bit faster then it is now is not unwanted because pretty much everyone describes that perk as "useless"
RIght now its the same 2 kicks as without running it, but speed up.
They could make it a single kick at the regular kicking speed, it would not be as fast as 50% of current brutal strength, but still faster then it is now and it would be a nice little audiable and visual change.

no the survivors have no option other than alt f4ing. I dont know what you mean they can dodge.
unless you encourage alt f4ing?
Ermm I made a statement about how I feel this should work, you responded to that, then I responded back explaining it further... what is so hard to understand about it?
"Mori's should be visible in the lobby, just like toolboxes/medkits/keys/maps are.
Same for any offering.
Then we should remove the loading offerings screen entirely, it adds nothing."
-
What I find kinda lame about this is that the next tome is also next week.... could have been nice if we had either the new DLC or the new Tome this week to have something to do.
Are the cosmetics also kidna moved with the DLC or is that not related at all?

ermm the Entity powers them sooo literally non of them

Please explain to me and to every other person who types this nonsense how exactly changing the matchmaking is going to increase killer population. It boggles my mind the amount of folks that have not given 2 minutes of thought to the bridge the devs are trying to sell to the dbd player base. I’ve posted this question before but I’ll do it again: “is there any matchmaking system in any univers that includes the same number of people but can shorten q times” please take a couple of minutes with that. Eventually the realization will hit that the devs are fixing exactly nothing. All that will happen is you won’t be able to see rank and we will all be too dumb to understand that nothing changed
ok.... how about you think about this:
Right now the matchmaking is based around matching people up with the same rank, if non of the same rank its available it starts expanding to different ranks, then it expands more, then it goes a bit outside of your area/ping, and starts searching etc etc etc until it finds a match, that process might take a while
Now who knows, maybe the new match making will be far more forgiving with this and secretely do a way with actually trying to match people of equal skill all together and just match people up.
That would certainly reduce the wait time now wouldnt it?

It really isn't a buff, it's just getting rid of an inconvenience. It's like saying if they found a way to optimise the game so it ran 5 FPS faster on average for survivor its a buff. No it's not and even if it does help them a minor amount it doesn't make it a buff. It's not like keeping an eye on the bar was difficult in anyway and it was such a minor thing it didn't even cause a distraction...
I see that differently, but time will tell
-
maybe the new ranking system will help a bit, for now, idk play killer yourself or something, not much else is possible

seriously, could you like try to wait and see how something turns out before making your mind up?
-
Ok you need to chill, the devs know things we dont, this is partly...sadly, due to the fact that they rarely publish stats when when they do its not even 10% of the full picture.
Your complaint about the Doctor is a prime example of you not having the knowledge to complain, no offense honestly.
Regarding Sabo, shall we just wait and see how it pans out before screaming bloody murder? If survivors spend time trying some new wacky tactic of destroying hooks and you just go to a different hook....well then they wasted their time, time they could have spend on a gen, so that can actually work in your favor.
We just have to wait and see how it plays out.

You are acting like the item not being deleted is a buff and not just a quality of life finish at 99% thing. It's literally just a nice quality of life thing, is that extra 1% you use up really enough to be considered an actual buff?
It still requires you to keep an eye on the bar, not something you have to do now, just a quick nice boost to get the gen done a bit faster.
Yeah its a quality of life change....if you just want to make it easier for survivors.
I just think this will make it so much more inviting to just bring toolboxes into games, and killers will be more likely to allow it because they are not as impactful as they were but that will still mean and ez 3 gens done before the first survivor is down, then more-so then now.
So in the end I think it should be preceived as a buff.
-
a fun game is just a fair game, no try harding on either side, though I think survivors would be a lot more cool with a lot more things killers do if they would just be able to put themselves in their shoes.
Anywho, just to answer your quesitons (im not a survivor main though, I play both sides, hope it sitll counts).
- FREDDY by miles, hate what they did to my boy.
- Nurse can feel pretty cheap
- Ermmm honestly the rest is fine
Perks:
Well this depends heavily on the killer, so I mentioned Freddy but that is also mostly because EVERY FFING FREDDY RUNS POP and its just so cheap, so pop but its situational.
Noed but again, situational, if the killer was basically was proxy camping the entire match, leading people to believe they could unhook but nope they cant and THEN also ahve Noed....yeah that is just so cheap.
Nurses Calling, just a cheap perk imo, One of my friends runs it on just about all his killers and its just cheap af.
But again, all situational, really I dont mind perks as much as obvious perk builds/choices, like Billy with Enduring, Spirit Fury, Pop/Ruin, idk NoeD or something.
Top 5 Add Ons:
Again, just the cheap overpowered crap, which imo all add ons are, I dont run add ons ever on killers myself. But ya know Insta Saw or Insta Hatchets are particulary cheap.
Offerings:
Mori, thats it, just cheap, not much a killer can do to make that ok apart from running it against an obvious 4man team with items.
Feel like I answered the killer builds already.

PGTW is a great perk tbh. Especially when the survivors gen rush and end up in the dreaded 3 gen scenario, it can really turn the game around. Much better perk than Ruin ever was tbh. I use Sloppy with my Ghostface, as partnered with his stealth and Nurses, it can be deadly.
I know they are powerful and it CAN be fun I guess to pop a gen that was very close to being done, but idk it does not seem that at that point you would be in the "having fun" mindset.
Usefull yes, but not fun.

1 it should show as a broken key, just half a key in the survivor hands.
And 2 yes, it should do something, its pretty weird as it is.

Everything is reportable, does not mean anything is done about it, you are fine.
Though an option for the killer to just open the exit gates at any time to start the endgame collapse would be a fair alternative to survivors dipping out by letting themselves die on the hook.
The devs would never implement such a thing though, far too many killers would end the match early which will probably eventually lead to the death of the game.
Killers have to just suffer through it, sorry.

That's a map design issue, not a player issue. They might be a competitive-minded player that has fun by playing to win by any means necessary, of course a player like that is going to use anything available to them that's not against any rules.
And believe me, I don't like dealing with that sort of stuff either as that's not my playstyle/mindset at all. But to me it's no different than people complaining about "tryhards" using the strongest guns/characters in a typical FPS or something like Overwatch. Yeah, that gun or that hero should probably be toned down if it really outshines everything else, but until that happens it's not very constructive to blame players for using what's available to them in my opinion.
I see that differently, I think less of a player who tries to give themselves every single advantage they can to "win", like what kind of accomplishment is that? They choose to (ab)use these unbalanced advantages.
I know you speak of what is ingame but heck at that point, why not use exploits or heck just straight up cheat right? I mean you are already busy skewing it as much to your favor.
Hell in this game, De-rank all the way to 20 and completely own new players, what an amazing feat!
Yeah I think less of players like that, like I said, I have no clue why one would even play games if they are going to play like that.
-
@oxygen said:
It's stupid no matter who does it. It's whining about people using something that's in the game and working as described.
It's pure scrub mentality and nothing else. It's fine to have an issue with a perk, map, killer or whatever else and discussing potential changes and all but blaming players for using something in such a way is the #1 way to look like a textbook scrub.
So if a survivor runs an infinite and constandly goes back to that, thats fine in your book?
Idk, I would think less of that person and wonder why they even play games to begin with.
-
just make it so that Red Herring doesn ot work on a gen players are currently working on
-
You are just asking people to actively De-rank more so they can bully babies.
Not to mention rank so far meant nothing but pure playtime.
-
Honestly I like many of nerfs/changes implemented and more need to come.
EGC, Closing the Hatch, The Nurse, Exhaustion, Several map designs so infinites are more rare, Ruin, Vacuum.

What in gods name are you talking about? Did you literally just skip over everything and just put a random comment? "Killer only focuses on 1 player because they arent smart enough to break chase and ends up getting gen rushed", why should the survivors be punished because the killer makes poor choices? We did our objectives, we escaped.. why should we be forced to interact with the killer if it wasnt necessary in the match due to a killers choice?
ermm no, quote:
"for players that see rank 1 as the only goal in this game, how is it fair that a killer that decides to face camp and get gen rushed...."
Translation:
"For players who choose some personal arbitrary goal, this tactic isnt fair as it hinders them from reaching that self made up goal."
Hope that makes it a bit more clear.
A killer can play how they want, if that does not align with someone's personal goals well thats too bad, same way vice versa.
You call the killer not smart enough, maybe catching 1 player and camping them to death was their entire goal? Heck I played a couple of games as clown with my only self given objective bein to hit survivors with bottles, thats literally all I wanted to do and did.
Why should the survivor be punished? ermm you are not punished, you are playing a game and this was how it turned out...if you cant handle the possibility of not making your goal then idk why you even play games to begin with.
You are not forced to interact with the killer....just never start a match of dbd which is literally survivor v killer and you will not encounter one, however if you choose to start up a match then...well you sign yourself up for that interaction, if you mean however that you dont want to try to save someone being camped to death then....dont? just leave?
-
I like the concept, not sure how it would look visually, the water I mean, though with controlling an area like that idk if that would not just invite camping which is not a fun playstyle.
For the perks:
Treasure Hunt: I guess its fine, basically a killer version of Plunderers, but to make it worth while I think you have to do something more with it, maybe if a survivor takes the item in it, they are revealed for as long as the item is held?
Blood in the Water: tricky that, bloodlust is kinda one of those holy equations we dont touch for balance reasons, Maybe it its not for 60 seconds but a lot shorter it would be ok, or maybe it does stay for 60 seconds but if you lose the chase, the perk is deactivated again. Just ot make it a bit more fair.
Hex: Davey Jones's Locker: a >chance< of being blocked is too weak, imo it should just block any lockers from being able to be entered within the killers terror radius, visually augmented with the Entities claws around it so survivors can see they cant enter a locker. (and if they already were inside they get thrown out without a sound indication)
I also feel it would look more epic if we never saw the killers face but rather a light emiting from the front facing window of its helmet, that would then change colour as per your suggested requirements.
-
I must say, im kinda suprised by the perks people choose, many, especially on the killer side.... i mean what makes Pop fun? what makes Sloppy fun?
They are needed to slow the game down maybe...are they fun because they reduce your stress as killer a bit?
Like idk, Devour Hope can be fun, Bamboozle can be fun, purely for the "Oh Sh!t" moment for survivors. Same for Lightborn or Bloodwarden.
-
dude, whats with all the - like they are good/valid and different points....
"there is so much wrong with him because 1. he is really bad and 2. he is worse then X and 3. he is soooooooo bad, I rest my case your honor"
Leatherface is fine, watch Otz play him or something jeez, run up straight behind a survivor and its game over for them.
also, his tantrum can be used to your advantage and it fits the character.
Yes the end of the chainsaw animation looks bad, but know its balanced for that to not hit, so they could make it look like its not a hit, but they wont suddenly make it a hit as that skews the balance.
-
asking for buffs already.... give it like a month or something jeez.
-
hoenstly im having a lot of fun with just about any build.

idk how many times we have to have this conversation but here we go again:
yes, ranks are meaningless, they are, they JUST are, it only reflects how much you have played since the reset.
So just take Rank for what its worth, namely: NOTHING.
Now apart from all of that, what are you actually asking?
-
Wait you want the game adjusted because some individuals made up some personal goal and something/someone interfering with that is therefor being unfair?
What if its the killers goal to never have any gens done? should we not adjust the game so survivors cant do gens because that would be "unfair" to the killer(s made up goal) ?
-
you can always try? why talk to us about it?
-
it is barely used so I would not count it as an issue.
and the rare time it IS used its some moron survivor who is desperate for your attention, let them waste their time while you go after others, ez.

I am talking about the loadout itself not about how different or not different the perks of the each individualls are. I am totally aware the the perks are different and cant be compared. I also know that there are perks that already expend your M1. It was just a example with the M1 ofc something else can be added, I only thought that it would be cool beeing able to enchant your weapon before a trial to bless your weapon by the entity and maybe it has a glowing effect because of that? It would make sense and would fit to the game imo.
It would, but personally I want the amount of factors reduced, not enhanced.
I already have a big problem with how Add ons work atm, its just fundamentally flawed:
The devs internally balanced the game, This killer should move X fast and this attack should reach Y far.... now lets add some add-ons to mess that balance up...
Either killers are balanced by default and Add-ons make them too strong, OR killers are too weak by default and add-ons make up for that.
Either scenario is bs if we strive for balance, all Add-ons should do imo is CHANGE how things work, not make it better, not make it worse but make it different, Like Freddy's Bloodpools to Fake Pallets add on.
Adding enchantments, while I agree the idea fits the lore, would just bit more factors that just skew the game.
-
Yah this is lag, you see them moving in a direction, the game just assumes they are going in that direction and projects it that way, then gets new information that they have turned and are somewhere else.
Thats why you keep seeing them walk forward but suddenly jolt to the left or right, they are zigzagging but lagging while doing it.
-
ermm because Killer and Survivor perks are not 1 on 1?
Its like saying you and I can both fight eachother and bring 4 items.
You bring a Spoon, a Rubber Ducky, a Sponge and a Loaf of Bread
While I take a Sword, a Gun, a Tank and an Armored Vest.
And then claiming we are equally matched because we both have 4 items.....
And yes yes YES I know about hte survivor meta etc, we dont need to get into that, you get my point im sure.
PS Sloppy Butcher, 3rd Seal, NoeD...they all pretty much "enchant" your M1 basic attack.
-
Its kinda sad how often these threads get made but here we go again:
- The ability to mix and match outfits in the store before buying them all.
What would be extra amazing, what if they had a preview button in the store that would load you into the tutorial level so you can run around a bit with that new outfit setup you might want to buy.
2 A dedicated PTB file to download so we dont have to re-download the entire game twice everytime a PTB is released.
3 A more controlled PTB, no longer a copy of your profile but instead just a pre-setup profile for everyone with in it limit supply of stuff that dont help with testing. AND a maybe dedicated rift panel for it so there are actual objectives that help with testing with a reward Charm at the end for the normal game.
(for the last ptb for example one of the objective would be saboing 5 hooks in a match, then another where you have to sabo with a toolbox etc etc)
-
I mean, you can report them if you want, dont think much will happen
-
I can get behind this
-
Remember when Tier 3 madness stopped DS from working?
No?
oh probably because it was fixed in like 2 weeks? less?
Killer problems are very much low priority.

Not really, any yellow or higher rank survivor used the item until it had almost no charges so they could escape with it, most people didnt lose their toolboxes unless they were killed or got Franklin'd with almost no charges.
I know, but its just a lot more casual now I feel, run in with a toolbox, rush part of the first gen, finish it and move on.
Just a quick nice boost with no extra effort of having to pay attention to the charges.

I'll attempt to explain to you why myself, and a few others, do not believe Legion is in a good spot. I'll do this respectfully and civilly, I am not trying to attack you or your belief.
Let's start with his good qualities:
He is super good at getting the first hit, thought it can be a bit difficult on console sometimes.
He is amazing at keeping people injured.
He really cannot be looped in Frenzy.
All of these make Legion a great Killer for low-Purple ranks, where he dominates. That is because of three things, Survivors are not great at looping, they heal every time they get hit and they generally lack game sense.
Onto the bad:
If people do not heal, he loses. Legion thrives on the slowdown from Deep Wounds and having to heal. Good Survivors do not heal if they are just going to be injured again.
He has a 32m TR, because of this, he cannot capitalize on the fact that people will be injured. Having a 32m terror radius gives them plenty of time to run away to a safe loop.
His power has a 4 second black screen stun. This stun is longer and more punishing than Nurse's. There is no reason for it to be so punishing.
He loses the ability to track Survivors when he activates FF. If Legion decides, for some reason, to use FF as a traversal ability like one of the Devs suggested, he loses the ability to see scratchmarks or blood.
Hitting a Survivor with a basic attack causes FF to deplete by half, just why?
One miss will cancel Frenzy. This is especially painful on console, where FF lowers FPS to 5.
Finally, at least 5 of his add-ons are useless. Frank's Mixtape, Stab Wound Study and all the Killer Instinct range add-ons.
Onto the bad:
"If people do not heal, Legion loses. Legion thrives on the slowdown from Deep Wounds and having to heal. Good Survivors do not heal if they are just going to be injured again."
Legion is a full speed killer, if you dont heal...well thats pretty much the same as being a Tier 3 myers the entire time...that should yield a pretty ez win.
"They have a 32m TR, because of this, they cannot capitalize on the fact that people will be injured. Having a 32m terror radius gives them plenty of time to run away to a safe loop."
Well again, legion is a full speed killer like all of them are, and if you are wounded you are just not in a good situation when they come for you"
"Their power has a 4 second black screen stun. This stun is longer and more punishing than Nurse's. There is no reason for it to be so punishing."
Nurse is a slower then average killer, hence the stun takes less long, If legions stun is reduced its much harder to get away from Legion who just runs up to you in Frenzy and then undoes its power. Also Legion can body block in the time it takes to recover if they are a good player.
"They lose the ability to track Survivors when they activate FF. If Legion decides, for some reason, to use FF as a traversal ability like one of the Devs suggested, he loses the ability to see scratchmarks or blood."
Yep, Ill give you that one, its a bit weird to remove that ability, I dont think Legion would suddenly be OP if that was not the case.
"Hitting a Survivor with a basic attack causes FF to deplete by half, just why?"
Also will give you this one, really odd choice.
"One miss will cancel Frenzy. This is especially painful on console, where FF lowers FPS to 5."
Dont know about consoles but imo its fair, its hard to juke that attack, I dont think its so bad it works the way it does.
"Finally, at least 5 of his add-ons are useless. Frank's Mixtape, Stab Wound Study and all the Killer Instinct range add-ons."
idk, I never run add ons anyway.
