A pipe dream is something that is very unlikely to happen but I'll broaden it to include stuff that you wouldn't expect to happen for a year or longer, if ever.
Mine? A map rework (the item). Make them track more things, like other survivors, and allow you to mark objects of interest so other survivors can see its aura for a certain amount of time (for instance a gen, the hatch, or a totem). Yes I know about the beam of light, I'd like them to improve upon it.
And secondly: a luck rework. Let's give those offerings an actual use! For instance, increasing your chances of a better item or even an add on in a chest without Ace in the Hole. (And I'd also like the base RNG of finding keys in chests to be much lower)
How about you? I'm fully expecting meme answers lol but hopefully some serious ones too
Another objective or more to do as survivor. Also I would love to have the Alien as a killer. Dont think it will happen but i would love it so much!!

Thank god more people are bringing this up. It feels HORRENDOUS. Like i have control on what is happening sometimes.

The Twins are extremely powerful and I very rarely see them. Idk what you're on about LOL.
It's probably kinda the same as why Hag doesn't get picked a lot. People just dont enjoy the playstyle.

Don't play the Trickster then. People also called Freddy bad and then he turned into one of the easiest Killers to play in the game because of a few people whining about it before even giving anyone a chance to learn the new Killer.
"Just don't play him." doesn't fix anything. There is no secret to him. It is very obvious the limits of his kit. People have a right to be upset with the feedback given from PTB which was mostly ignored. People just want the killer to be good while being different from the rest of the roster. Bad killers should not be releasing.

He definitely does not get the same burst of speed like he did before...

There is no playing around a killer who gives no information to survivors when she is using her power to gain distance and a hit on them. There is only guessing against a spirit who has good headphones.
Yes guessing and also misdirection. She dominates if you are injured without iron will. That is part of her strength. Same with twins. They are super strong when you are injured due to the power of Victor. Part 1 of outplaying spirit is being healthy. Remember this is 4v1 not 1v1. And chases are mostly mindgames. Mindgames is essentially a guessing game and i think the game should have more mindgamable structures like the T L wall loop. In the end its a guessing game. Try to stay healthy and predict the spirit. And she does give information there is a sound that she is phasing its up to the survivor to mindgame her with scratch marks and loud noise notifications

But that is bad design, right now you cannot see her when she phases. This takes out any fun in chases and takes out any real counterplay as well. It would fit her as well since she is a ghosty kind of killer, it would also be awesome to see.
I dont see how that is bad design. I am not totally against her having a visible animation for entering phase to remove the stand still mind game, thats a legit discussion to be had. But giving survivors periodic glimpses while she is phasing and cannot see would ruin half of the mind games that exist with her. Like phasing and going around a loop predicting that they will vault and catching them there. Or the opposite where you predict that they will fast vault and then slow vault back so you stand phasing at the window for the prediction. If there was glimpses the survivors would see exactly where she is and know that they shouldnt slow vault back. That would remove mind games. Would be much better design to make it similar to that bug that happened where you could hear her breathing. So you had a general idea of where she could be. I dont think it should be super easy to read so you know where she is all the time so it could be periodic. and yeah you cant see her for a reason. Because she cant see you. The fun in spirit chases is prediction and staying healthy so its hard for her to track you. Who wants another loopable killer, thats boring what kind of gameplay is that.

Constant hearing of where she is though is stronger than glimpses.
Honestly I would be against the glimpses. He whole point of spirit is that she cant see you and you cant see her so i dont really think it would be good to have the survivor get glimpses of her while she cant get glimpses of them. Id rather her have periodic breathing or something to stick with the whole "listening" theme

I did read, actually, I just don't think that brushing such huge problems aside is a reasonable way to address them. Because like it or not the counterplay to Blight's 180 is pure guesswork, which isn't actually counterplay and isn't even remotely consistent, and if you've ever plugged in a controller to play Blight then you'd know just how aful he is on console.
Blight is horrible on console and needs to be better. Its ridiculous and should be more like pc movement. But besides all that you mentioned consistent counterplay. Honestly i dont think any killer should have consistent counterplay. If the counterplay is consistent then the killer is probably garbage and can be beaten "consistently". I would much rather have skillful counterplay that may only work based on the survivor and killers skill not based on the limitations of the killers kit.
-
Literally my dream killer. Excited to watch this!
-
If he is gunna stay 110% his power needs to be more intimidating than it is now. To achieve that i would lower the knives needed to do damage to like 5 knives. Also give him ricochet base kit (no bonus serration) so he can do more at loops and such rather than just break line of sight and power is entirely countered. Let Main Event be activated whenever by the killer after it is charged up. You should be able to end it early to pick up survivors as well. I believe the bad accuracy was put in to deter long range use but it just feels bad to have inaccurate throws so make it accurate but give it some serration damage fall off or something.
-
Honestly give the game a ranked mode for people who want sweaty games and just open up the flood gates for all kinds of players. I just want to get into matches at this point. I love playing survivor but the queues are so horrendous its just not happening. And having to sweat every game you play is not very fun either. Variety is good and I would hate to be in the upper MMR and only face the same 5 top tier killers only and not see the others. And while not all killers need to be nurse or spirit level. All killers should be viable to let the skill of a killer shine and give you a chance against good teams. If the power is mostly avoidable or controlled by the survivors then I wouldnt say the killer is too viable.

I personally like the addition of recoil. It'll mean that you learn to constantly aim and move around instead of just aiming in the exact same place and just constantly hitting the survivor.
I mean sure but it is kind of random it seems so mostly its out of your control when it just flys out in a random cone. Amd you really arent aiming in the same place though unless the survivor doesnt move. You kind of have to track them with it. All recoil and inaccuracy does is make it frustrating.
-
Yeah agreed. One of my favorite killers
-
Been loving seeing this topic because I definitely feel like this is overlooked. Oni is not bad tk use on controller but blight is just plain painful sometimes. I really love blight but its just so bad on console...really wish they would address this
-
Yeah sadly something the devs never have answered on. I really wish Blight could get some QOL for controller users. You just cant play him to pull potential. Oni was pretty bad at release for movement on Console but they made it a lot better. Hopefully Blight gets some love when his POV gets fixed
-
I would love an Alien chapter. For me that's my ultimate want. Not sure if it will ever happen but damn thatd be so cool and it is a horror icon. And I would love to see Ripley as a survivor. If Demo can be taken by the entity I dont see why Alien couldnt. Here's to hoping! I mean its in Mortal Kombat so the license is out there.
-
I agree even on max sensitivity you cant do half the turning that players on M&K can do with Blight. Definitely would like some tuning like they did with Oni.

I feel like people get excited over the wrong things in this game. Maybe instead of making LGBT Survivors they should fix the endless list of bugs and issues. As I have stated so many times we don't need new survivors or killers we need the game to be fixed. Either way does it really matter if a survivor is LGBT? It's a character is the game and as long as they have good perks, are easy to play as and don't look like the northern lights letting the killer see them from half way across the map who really cares?
While I agree with you and would love an Operation Health, I dont think they are going to be doing that and hopefully they can release this next thing with better quality than the Twins. That being said, its always been a fun thing for me to try and guess what the next thing will be when teasers release. It is like solving a puzzle sort of. I was way off on Twins. But I just felt like I figured out the clues and was sharing my guess with the community for input. That is the point of the post.

People don’t like seeing lgbt representation in video games for some reason. Remember the last of us 2?
I will say there was actual story issues with TLOU 2 that made the game not liked mostly.

What a weird thing to nit pick. You get the point.

Yeah I am thinking LGBT survivor for sure. All the evidence points to that.
-
@Todgeweiht said:
Yeah, wasn't the transgender flag pink-white-blue? Would make sense.
Yeah it just makes too much sense. Also that's why they are focusing on the survivor so much because its kind of a big deal for the game and a lot of people have been wanting it.
-
Honestly hoping for an appealing killer design. Wasn't too big of a fan of the twins. Victor is cool but Charlotte just isnt really scary to me. I hope there are useful perks that release for both sides.

Does anybody know when we should actually get a teaser trailer?
My guess is tomorrow and PTB announced for tuesday next week

Oh profile picture haha and hmmm that must be the new survivor? Some type of entertainment creator? With the gaming set up thing from yesterday. Hopefully the killer is robotic and made by this company?

Which suchs because both would have been way better than what the twins actually were.
People guess things like that because they want things like that, but we keep getting generic humanoids....I think people want some more monsters again.
I highly agree on that. Such a shame they could really add some unique creatures and really expand their uniqueness.
-
I am going to say an original chapter because they wont be releasing new maps. It being original i am not sure what it could be.
-
I would love to see Pumpkinhead in DBD. Or really just more creature like killers.
-
I really want another creature killer like Demogorgon.
-
I love Wraith. Personally I like to use Nurse's, Pop, Devour, and BBQ. Nurses is just soo good on wraith to help you catch survivors mid heal and get quick downs. Pop to control gens a bit. And then i run Devour because devour on wraith is scary and no one expects it. Then I top it off with extra BP and some info so i can get into my next chase away from the hook while i get stacks of Devour :)

Yeah agreed I thought I was the only one missing lunges and swings that are in range but miss still. On console btw

This still looks pretty off. It's still an improvement for sure but do they HAVE to use vertical portraits? It's just so strange to look at imo. Everything in there just seems so awkwardly shoved into one spot.
Step in the right direction for sure but still needs some help. I still think this is way better:

I think it's definitely harder to do because the movement is less sporadic. I like the new movement it just needs to be less stiff feeling. I usually don't really rely on 360's though

I'm genuinely curious, recently it has gone from everyone calling him the most balanced killer in the game to one of the bottom tier. I'm a rank one demo main and I see him as a top tier killer. I have no trouble winning with him and I cant really find a flaw in his kit.
- His shred makes for amazing anti loop that can destroy many different types of loops as well as easily capitalize on survivor mistakes. It is also really good at zoning to get free hits.
- His portals make for great map traversal especially in the late game. Just don't focus to much on the set up early game and place as you go and they will pay off without you wasting to much time.
- His tracking makes his portals even stronger allowing him to have excellent late game pressure
- Best user of STBFL in the game which again like I've said before will make him incredibly powerful in chase in the late game. Combine great chase with pop and mobility to instantly pressure gens and it makes him pretty formidable.
- His stealth isn't that great but with decent portal placement I do get the occasional surprise hits on survivors
- Not map dependent
Can someone please explain to me their reasoning as to why they think he's bad.
Also a rank 1 Demo here. I agree with everything you've said. I really feel like he is a strong and oppressive killer but only in the right hands. Shred is really good and can shut down a lot of loops. I think people struggle with portal placement and using his shred too often. He is probably one of my most reliable killers and I can consistently 4K with him. I think he just has more of a learning curve with loops and shred and portals. His add-ons need touched desperately though. And maybe make him quiet after tunneling so you can actually stealth a bit. Other than that one of my favorite killers and definitely has counter play against his portals and shred so pretty balanced id say.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
Let's not forget that it also prevents a survivor from leaving the game like a Pig trap.
Yeah that doesnt matter though. Only matters in a hatch issue. If they just stand at the gate exit, they cant leave but the moment you hit them Victor falls off and they crawl out so its pointless.
-
I think this would help but still I think making it deactivate when you touch a gen, get in a locker, touch a totem. That way you can remove the abusive side of it.
-
Truely looks like it's just a Stranger Things themed stream with the actor that played Dustin in the show. Which is cool but would have been a good opportunity to see some add on reworks and basekit rat liver
-
Yeah after seeing the DBD ON AIR thing I honestly dont think they are doing anything. It'll probably just be a custom game with Dustin, Ninja, and his wife where they face off against Demogorgon. If they do any more than that I will be surprised.
-
Not to base everything off the recent kill stats but he does sit near the bottom.
-
I honestly dont know what they're gunna do. I have my expectations set low and am assuming this will be a Stranger Things themed tournament but I dont know I am hoping for some DEMO QoL and maybe a skin? But mostly want Demo QoL. But i guess we will see :/

Tbh I don't mind a killer not having consistent counterplay, but you gotta admit that killers like Deathslinger, PH and Spirit who have little to no indication as to when they're gonna use their powers are going to be more annoying to play against. As a Survivor, playing against something like a Wraith at a fair pallet (like the car pallet in front of the school at Badham) is fun. We can both try to mindgame each other, and do fakeouts.
I think the issue just comes from the lack of showing that they're going to be using their power. A Deathslinger can practically instashoot you if he's good, and as a survivor, it kinda feels like you just got juped because you had no opportunity to really try and outplay him. Same with Spirit and her ability to stand still at loops, or Pyramid Head putting his sword in the ground and setting up a 'Get hit from M1 or get hit from the ground attack' scenario. None of them really take much of Survivor's looping skills in question. (Which, I should clarify- I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I actually don't really mind. Those killers are really fun and rewarding to play, and do require some skill and practice. However, the way they work does make it frustrating to play against, which is where I think a lot of the complaint comes from. It does really suck to feel like you got punished for playing well- and it's a feeling both sides get from time to time.)
Thanks for the constructive and mindful reply. Yeah i can totally see where people want to be able to use their skills to outwit a killer and yes those killers can negate that to an extent. But also key word when you mentioned deathslinger is "if hes good" and i think thats where its okay if the killer can do some crazy things. Because it requires skill. Yeah it can be frustrating for sure but Pyramids whole thing with his power is to not be looped. He punishes it with the trail and his ground power. Which can be dodged easily. Which i think is why people tend to cancel it and just M1 for the guaranteed hit. If you go for a pallet or window its kinda similar to doing that with huntress.
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
thinking being unable to spam his power (ala Deathslinger) for free zoning is good
next you're going to tell me spirit has consistent counterplay
Why does a killer need "consistent counterplay"? If its consistent then the survivors basically get to dictate how the encounter goes. That's what makes bad killers no? You've got to look at the whole picture.
