What if, decisive strikes stun was shorter, but gave a slight sprint burst to the survivor?
Ie the same distance covered. ignoring all other issues people have with the perk, one of the most fustrating things about it from a gameplay standpoint is that it brings gameplay to a standstill for 5 whole seconds.
5 whole seconds of doing nothing. this also combos with head on's charge up allowing for really long stun periods that can feel abrasive to go against.
Making it, a two second stun (or the same effective stun time as a pallet stun), but the survivor gaining a small sprint burst in order to gain the same distance they would with current decisive strike, would allow it to be less draining being hit with it. Killers with powers that allow them to quickly cover distance would feel the effects less though, so it would be a slight nerf there.
(being healed a full health state should remove decisive strike/its cooldown should go down far faster when doing actions, as your not actively being tunneled.)

That sounds great. The biggest power spike of DS is when it goes off in the middle of a snowball. But it might have other issues, like being too easy for the killer to just eat, go after someone else now, and tunnel you down later when you're on death hook.
I wouldn't do a full heal since its still 25 seconds of invincibility then a full heal on top of it. I'd say 20% healed, downing another survivor and hooking them or touching a gen removes DS. Your ideal, I like a bit also.
I think this would help but still I think making it deactivate when you touch a gen, get in a locker, touch a totem. That way you can remove the abusive side of it.
That would really come down on the actual numbers, but the concept has me saying YES.
Fricking hate being stunned...
While I don’t personally believe thats DS’s biggest problem, I would certainly welcome the change.
So you ask the devs to make sth more complicated but the effect should stay the same?
Good luck!
Blight already barely cares about DS. If you make the stun shorter Blight could catch up to a person after they use DS without the slightest issue. It would probably make him quite the tunneling powerhouse, up there with Pyramid Head.
The problems with DS imo are its duration and like BT, the fact that survivors can use it aggressively instead of defensively to punish the killer playing well while they make dumb plays cuz they have a perk.
This being said tho, if DS was a shorter stun, but with a sprint burst, it would be entirely up to the survivor to make the best out of it, instead of them just benefitting from the game disabling the killer for 5 seconds, cuz they would have to find a tile and play it well to get good value from it. They can't just finish a gen in your face while you're stunned, they have to look for a tile or they die. BT into DS hook bombing would become more risky cuz killers wouldn't be stunned for that long... However, because sounds are messed up, it's possible that if a survivor uses DS and then sprint bursts away, you won't be able to hear where they went to track them, which currently you can. Overall I think I like the idea.
My idea for decisive strike is this:
Each time you are unhooked you generate a token, up to 2 tokens. Tokens will degrade over time only when not in chase with the killer, over 40 seconds. Each token provides you with a 10% bonus to movement speed and vaulting speed. In addition each token reduces the BP gains for associated killer interactions by 50%. For example, if the killer still catches you with 1 token he only gets 50% bp for the hook and sacrifice, or if he tunnels you and hooks you again, he gets 100% reduction to any points gained for that hook and sacrifice unless you are the last survivor standing. (there should be a visual indicator to let both surv. and killer know this is active)
The reason for the BP effects is that once killers start to see that they're going to lose out on points for tunneling, they won't do it, HOWEVER, its not a detriment if they need to tunnel you for whatever reason for the kill. So its a mix between giving the survivor a bit extra survival and lowering the reward for tunneling. Right now, a huge chunk of newer killers tunnel because it just makes sense and is the least work to go for the injured survivor, but the game kinda rewards them for that and if you alter the reward you ought to alter the gameplay.
you'd still have effectively gotten away from the killer and bought a slight amount of time, the impact would be reduced for other survivors however.
Exactly! plus time efficency but the actual feeling of being stunned, is horrid.
It's not its biggest problem, but it would take away from its impact, allow the killer to be more efficent with their time and also to stop them feeling locked out of playing for 5 whole seconds.
