It worked like STBFL. With stfbl, you keep youre stacks when the obsession is dead. However with dying all stacks are gone. I feel like this perk would be more viable if it worked like that and you could keep your stacks after the obsessions death
The catch, I think, is that Save The Best For Last's stacks can be lost during the match while Dying Light's can't. If you're using STBFL, then you gain or lose stacks based on of you hit the Obsession. Dying Light, hitting or hooking the Obsessing does nothing unless they die. Until that happens, any stacks you gain, you keep and cannot lose. I think DL would need a similar mechanic to justify keeping any stacks in the event of the Obsession's death.
Save the Best For Last can fluctuate, but Dying Light is all or nothing.

*** LOOPING ***
if you can keep the Killer behind you the whole match because you know where are all the pallets, plus do 365, plus receive no damage or max. 1 hit, then you are SKILLED cuz you are god-like looper, other than looping there is not much other facts that makes you skilled as surv
Example of famous survs at looping:
- Ochido rank S+
- Monto rank B
- Truetalent rank A
- Ayrun rank S
- ZubatLEL rank S
- No0b3 rank A
- Jendenise rank C

Let me fix this for you
- Ochido rank F
- Monto rank E
- Truetalent rank D
- Ayrun rank A
- ZubatLEL rank A
- No0b3 rank C
- Jendenise rank - (not playing anymore)
How can anybody think Ochido is a decent or even a god tier looper when he is failing against rank 20 killer all the time? That guy is honestly trash and does more mistakes in his highlight videos then i do on a really bad day.
The only S Tier looper i have ever seen is Fungoose, and even he is debateable.
I'm genuinely curious where Puppers would fall in either listing. He's primarily Survivor and often pretty good at loops. Just as importantly, to my mind, when he messes up, he often realizes exactly why. He'll acknowledge he played a loop incorrectly or got greedy for that one extra loop.

Thanks for the reply! Are there any cosmetic DLCs included, too?
That I couldn't tell you. I've never cared much about cosmetics one way or the other. I don't think there's much that isn't already free to everyone on other platforms other than the black and red Trapper mask.

All non-Licensed Killers/Chapters up to the Spirit.
So in terms of killers the basic five (Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, Huntress), Hag and Doctor (base on other consoles), and Clown and Spirit and all their corresponding Survivors.
I think that's everyone.
Also my roommate and I both play mostly on Switch so if you need an extra I don't mind sharing my friend code

Only the people who have no idea what they're in for because, as has been noted, that is very unlikely to be what actually happens.

If the counter to DS is slugging (when there's even a counter to that, which is currently high up in meta), then the counter to getting camped is "lol don't get caught".
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1530869#Comment_1530869
I don't think you know what "free" means. Consult your nearest dictionary. It wouldn't be a free kill - the killer earned it. It's called the survivor getting a free escape. Despite earning nothing. There is no version of this where you are anything other than entitled - and you're certainly not right.
Speaking for myself, I don't have an opinion on Unbreakable, but I do feel that Decisive Strike is less about rewarding the Survivor and more about punishing the Killer when they do stuff like actively tunnel a freshly hooked Survivor to death. The devs may acknowledge that tunneling and camping are valid strategies, but that's not the same thing as condoning it, as demonstrated by Decisive Strike's rework and the decision to prevent Pyramid Head from seeing or camping his Cages of Atonement.
Again speaking for myself, it's the one thing I personally loathe running into as a Survivor and it's why I run DS alongside Borrowed Time and Babysitter, to protect myself and others from that sort of thing as much as I'm able.
It's true it can be used aggressively. It's true you could run into it inadvertently despite not actually tunneling just because you downed someone at the wrong time. Despite that, I honestly don't think it outweighs the purpose DS serves in weakening the ability to tunnel Survivors.

Why is everyone discussing ds and unbreakable seperated. The combination of these perks has no counterplay or a way to apply pressure for killers.
"but you can just ignore the survivor and go for somebody else". That's not the point! It still has no counterplay and you are 100% going to Lose pressure at all the options you are going to choose.
Options
1. Ignore the survivor with the small pp build, the survivor can now do gens without someone interrupting Them. Then you have to hope you find another survivor to chase or you are going to Lose gens.
2. Smack him on the ground so he can get up with unbreakable, you wasted time chasing this person when he just can get up fast by unbreakable.
3. Pick him up: same as 2 but now you pick him up and he stuns you and you have to chase him again or another survivor. So you wasted the chase time and the 5 seconds stun.
In all the three scenario's there is a big loss of momentum or pressure. That's why there should be changes that these 2 perks dont work together. The perks are fine of course when not Being together.
While that's true, eating the DS and/or having them use Unbreakable means they've used it, and no longer have it for the remainder of the match.
I don't tunnel, so DS isn't often an issue for me, but I do slug off of hook if the opportunity presents itself. Even if they pick themselves up with Unbreakable, it's still one less person on gens for the brief time it takes them to do that, potentially more if they don't or a teammate, unaware they do, leaves a gen to try for the pickup.
I figure that way, whatever happens, I get something out of it.

I'm confused with that. I Know DS is called an anti tunnel perk, but does it really stop the killer from tunneling as a whole? It's still their choice to go after you after you DS them right? Or am I getting something wrong 😰
I've always thought of it as anti-tunnel in the sense it can punish killers who do it. Best case is killer doesn't tunnel and you basically don't have a perk in that slot, but if he does, you can do something about it

The Nightmare with Infectious Fright, Dark Devotion, and Distressing. Half the fun is seeing what use can be gotten from the perks. I get a laugh every time IF triggers.
-
For what it's worth, the "doesn't count as a hook" works both ways. Pyramid Head doesn't get Barbecue & Chili, Pop Goes The Weasel, or similar when he cages Survivors.
It counts a a hook only in terms of hook progress.

What is dark devotion good on? Ive been experimenting with nurse.
I don't know about "good", but I like using it with the Doctor for Terror Radius shenanigans. The Doctor's powers are tied enough to his TR that Survivors won't expect him using Undectable.
You could possibly also have fun on it with Tier 3 Michael Myers.
-
Honestly, assuming you haven't unlocked it from the Shrine, my first suggestion for Killer to level is Leatherface/The Cannibal. He's relatively simple to play as, but more importantly, in my opinion, he has the most valuable Teachable Perk for leveling in general: Barbecue and Chili.
Leveling him first also means fewer prayers to R.N.Gesus to hope it shows up in subsequent bloodwebs.

What do you want exhaustion perks to be then? Something that does nothing or what requires you to complete impossible skill check every time you want to dead hard? Exhaustion perks have one use for that reason that survivors have one chance if the situation allows them and they won't immediately go down
And assuming they don't waste it. How many Sprint Bursters or Balanced Landers do you think have inadvertently used their perks without intending to, screwing them over when chase time comes?
My first thought when I thought of "Crutch Perk" was actually Spine Chill. At the very least, I began to feel I was using it as a crutch myself when I relied on it to tell me if the Killer was close by and/or heading in my direction or not. Not using it definitely makes things generally harder than usual.
Decisive Strike I try not to use offensively. I use it for what it's stated to be, an anti-tunneling perk. If the killer doesn't play like that, I'm essentially perkless in that slot. If they do, I have a defense.
Borrowed Time I pair with Babysitter to give whoever I unhook the best chance possible, but I try not to use it offensively unless the Killer is actively camping / proxy-camping the hook, and I'm willing to risk a hook-trade in that scenario.
-
Lately I've been running what I call the "Babysitter Build" to protect teammates and myself from being tunneled. My usual version of this is Borrowed Time/Decisive Strike/Off the Record/Babysitter, but BT and DS together break the one Meta rule, so for this thread I'm replacing Decisive Strike with Breakdown.
Borrowed Time/Breakdown/Off the Record/Babysitter
One meta perk rule aside, I know Iron Will is overall the better choice, I just think Off the Record is more on-theme.
Other options I swap in depending on mood or goal are Deliverance and Kindred.
-
Sincere question: Does Spine Chill affect speed of Pallet drops?

It occurs to me that, in these early stages of MMR, Rank does mean something as it is still indicative of where you were when the MMR began. Someone who got their way up to Rank 1 didn't stop being Rank 1 on Monday, and a baby Rank 20 is as baby a Rank 20 today as they were five days ago.

By practice being a survivor? If you play survivor at any rank you see how bad teammates are all the time, does not matter if they are red rank or not there is lots and lots of space for improvement everywhere. To ask for nerfs instead of focusing on learning the game is lazy and proves a loser mentality. A team of very good solo survivors will win against any killer, problem is it's very rare to get four very good survivors in a team, but that is not the killers fault.
None of that actually answers the question of "How do you counterplay Spirit?" That's just general advice/statements.
-
Kindred was one of my favorite, go-to Survivor Perks even before it was buffed, when all it did was show people where everyone was when I was hooked.
For Killer I have to say Dark Devotion. I love the idea of playing around with my Terror Radius so DD appeals to me.
-
How about an addon that gives that effect?

If BHVR would communicate a bit more openly with the community, many of those complaints could be avoided.
This is the sticking point for me because, from what I've seen, it looks like we've been getting conflicting information.
We were told MMR has been running in the background for months collecting data. Then we're told the MMR will need 10-ish matches. I saw another post that claims we're now being told it may take a couple weeks.
Yet streamers and fog whisperers who literally play this game for hours every day, are getting obvious mismatches game after game to the point where several of them are getting sick of the game altogether and going to Fall Guys.
Puppers once suggested the devs were actively trying to kill the game and cash in. At the time I thought that sounded Conspiracy Theory-ish, but honestly I'm starting to wonder if that doesn't explain a lot of what we're seeing.
-
You know, it just occurred to me that so many people aren't getting Milky Buttons... and that's sad.

I play on PS4 too. 90% of games I play I just try to get 2 hooks on each survivor and then let them pallet stun me. For me it’s just farming (even though all my killers are maxed out...now I’m just P3’ing all my survivors). Every once in awhile I might play normally if it seems the survivors are pretty strong (even then, eh). I’d rather everyone have a fun time (even if that means letting survivors flashlight save a survivor, DS me, etc. It’s extra cute when someone messages me how bad I am when I’m intentionally goofing around and letting them live lol)
I'm similar. So long as I can get my rituals/challenges done and get my Barbecue stacks, I'm fine to let people go. If it looks like I've got baby survivors I might chase them or hassle them a little. Treat it like a chance to show them what does and doesn't work.
That said, I will do things like slug off hook and go after the rescuer of they try to unhook next to me without BT, or if they spend so long in a locker it gets crows alerting me, it's to the hook with them.

I think the idea is that, if they've been collecting data for weeks/ months, a good amount of that calculation should already be done.
-
Question: If you don't/rarely play Hag, then doesn't it make perfect sense you'd be paired with weaker survivors since the Killer-side MMR goes by your playtime and results with each killer individually?
In this case, like you suggested, it would seem you got set against weaker Survivors because you don't play Hag, but you're good enough at Killer generally, good enough at the basics that apply to almost all Killers, that you still steamrolled. The MMR didn't fully account for since that higher general experience was gained on other Killers like Spirit and Huntress.
-
Does that mean they're working as changed now, or are we still waiting on that hotfix?
-
One idea I had, but haven't fully fleshed out is Hex: The Third Seal and Trail of Torment with the Hag's Mint Rag addon that lets you teleport at will.

It's a matter of fact, hatch is a dumb design that should not exist. Forcing you to slug the third player or resort to other lame #########.
Bonus: with Plunderer's Instinct you can easily find a key every trial you search all chests on.
Looking at the title, you may as well ask "Since NOED exists, went aren't keys a basekit Survivor item?"

@kosmi said:
Is it holding a game hostage if you play hide and seek only. Not doing gens and just hiding from the killer till he/she finds you?
Holding the Game Hostage refers to actions that prevent the game from progressing and/or concluding in any way. In your example, if all the Survivors are just hiding around doing nothing then you're holding the game hostage because you're not doing anything to progress the game forward (doing gens) and preventing the Killer from doing what they can to progress the game (killing you).
This kind of thing is why the Endgame Collapse exists. Were you the last Survivor standing, but refusing to leave/open the gate/use the hatch/whatever the Killer can close the hatch or open the gate themselves and force you to either leave or die.
It's for this reason that holding the game hostage is primarily a thing only Survivors can do. Though Killers can, also, if they simply corner you and refuse to hit or down you while you can't move.

Can't wait for the "in a single trial" variant in stage 4.
I was about to say I'd prefer the "in a single trial" variant because then you'd only have to do it once, but then a question occurred to me.
For clarity's sake, do you get credit towards the challenge as long as even a single survivor escapes before you, or do you need to play three games where everyone makes it out.
I'd initially read it as the latter, but now I realize that may not be so. If, in game 1, a single Survivor makes it out before you do, do you still get credit for 1 escape? Or if two people leave, you leave, and the last person gets out, does that count for two points towards the challenge or zero, because only two people left before you.
If you don't need all three other survivors to get out before you, then that makes the challenge much more manageable, if also requiring more games to complete.
Edit: looking at the replies before mine, it looks like you get credit so long as you're alive when someone else gets out.

Hers Ambush Attack is completely counterable because of the audio warning (just run away from the loop).
Borrowed was changed to not be tied to TR so I don't know what you talking about here.
Traps are RNG but even with the worst set up (add-ons and bad luck) the Survivor has plenty of time to remove the trap (already tested, if you want I can search the vid).
She being a M1 Killer for the most part is precisely why she is so weak.
This is the first I've heard of Borrowed Time not being Terror Radius based. Didn't see it in any patch notes or anything recently. So I'm not sure that's correct.

For myself, Legion is my primary Bloodpoint farmer besides the Doctor. Legion is very good at it since his power is designed to be used in chases, which provides points for Hunting, simply running around in Feral Frenzy builds up Deviousness points, and Deep Cut hits with Feral Frenzy count towards both Deviousness and Brutality. From there, get your Barbecue & Chili stacks and you're basically golden but for Sacrifice points.

I'm a nurse main on ps4. Here's a summary of my last match. (Kinda long btw).
I don't consider myself a great nurse but I did incredibly well during the match. Especially considering I was on haddonfield. All of the survivors were purple and red rank. I'm rank 8. 1 gen done the whole match. The only person that could even somewhat juke me and loop me was claudette... everyone else got downed in a few seconds. I got a 3k and let cheryl go at the exit gate.
After the match was over cheryl messaged me "ty".
A RANK 3 p3 ace messaged me "tunneling will get you band soon so have fun". For context... he kept using self care right in front of me. I even gave him a second chance by slugging him when he was on death hook. He then proceeded to start using self care... right in front of me. He couldn't even spell banned right smh.
Then the other ace messaged me. "You're not good my team is trash chill". Just imagine thinking you're so good that you call a nurse on console bad for destroying you. And he was by far the worst at running me around out of all of them.
Utterly pathetic but I found it funny. (This thread was just for fun btw).
You should have replied to the one who said you'd get "band" by saying "but I don't know any instruments..."

99'ing the gate make the EGC useless.
I feel it necessary to point out that the Killer can open the Gate too, so long as one of them hasn't already been opened. If it seems like Survivors are holding the have hostage at the Gate, the Killer is free to just open it themselves. This can also be done to make darn sure Blood Warden pops.

I enjoy Doctor but I think Legion is better if you want Bloodpoints.
The Doctor's Shock Therapy and Static Blast are great for Deviousness, and Hunting is just a matter of finding and chasing, but I often have issues with Brutality points. Adding Surge to my build helps, since you get Damage Generator points when it procs, but still need to go out of my way for pallets and non-Surged gens.
Legion, however, has the advantage that hits with Feral Frenzy count for both Brutality and Deviousness. Hunting is also easier because Feral Frenzy is a power designed for use in chase. You can also build up Deviousness just by running around in FF, even if you do nothing else.
I don't worry about Sacrifice as much, since I'm usually content to get my four Barbecue and Chili stacks, but that's is the same on either Killer, affected mainly by your own skill with them.

Again, I am aware that Springtrap is much more likely to be chosen if a FNAF chapter gets released. I am simply stating a possibility for a interesting and more mysterious killer. Of course I can imagine Springtrap appearing as a jumpscare killer, where he can deploy cameras around the map which survivors can then access, allowing springtrap to teleport to their location. Just my thoughts.
Fair enough. I like the idea given earlier of a Stitchwraith skin for our Wraith. Made me also think of a Puppet skin for the Nurse (as she moves in a similar way to the Puppet in the some of the times we see it moving) and Clown skin of either Chica or Circus Baby. Or maybe a Foxy Hillbilly.
Edit: Samurai Freddy Oni!
-
While what I've heard about the Stitchwraith does sound interesting, I'm of a mind that a FNAF killer should be Springtrap. He's the big villain that every bad thing in the series stems from, second only to Freddy Fazbear himself in his importance/iconic nature.
-
Don't Feral Frenzy hits count towards both Brutality and Deviousness? Meanwhile chasing survivors while in Frenzy also goes towards Hunting.
-
My own idea for Mindbreaker has been to make the exhaustion cumulative. The longer you spend on a generator, the longer the Exhaustion lasts when you get off of it
-
I find Killer more enjoyable/less stressful than Survivor.

I often farm as killer because all I care about are points. I play sweaty until I have Barbecue stacks then fool around, hook people a second time unless I've forgotten how far along they were, and harass survivors so they can get boldness points and/or altruism from healing one another. A few times I've had survivors realize I was doing this and hang by/gesture at the hook. I usually just shrug, say "okay" and hook them.
