One slight cool feature to this perk a huntress hatchet that successfully lands a hit give you a token for non-obsession strikes. Its still not that great on huntress but if the rest of you perks are bad it worth putting on.

is it good again? well than, time to use it on pig!Oh, do note that this Perk does NOT work with successful attacks made by Pig's dash attack.
Trust me, i know: Had a Daily to do with her and i had already equipped the Perk on her.alright, thanks for the info
Its still worth using just don't go for dash attacks you still get the insidious benefit shortly after standing up on top of that you can potentially get grabs around corners. Ambush attack is mostly for mind gaming certain pallet areas. E.g. the pallets by the cars.

DS is the only perk I have a problem with as killer, and only when a non-obsession uses it. IMO only obs should be able to DS, but increase the skill check zone by 10% for every other instance of DS among the survivors. Then if you have 4 DS's, only obsession can DS but they have a much higher chance of hitting the skill check, which as a non-obsession is what you want to happen. This has a lot of merit as making the skill check easier will help if the killer is running stuff like dying light. I wouldn't have problem with ds if it occurred once but when multiples are in play its devastating.

**Counter [TRANSITIVE] to take action in order to oppose or stop something or reduce its negative effects
**
Again I never said nullify, that was you lot saying it, a counter is a temporary effect as the definition above says. Ds is a one time use, once it's gone it's gone and BBQ doesn't need nerf and most killers run it. It isn't just the immobile killers that run it. My point about BBQ which you completely ignored was that killers say the way to counter it is to hide behind a generator.Your Enduring perk isn't meant to completely negate ds as the definition above says it reduces it's negative effects. Now they could change it so that it would either completely nullify it or make it so that it's a 15% skill check chance.
The flashlight change via animation was actually quite nice and it was based upon the flashlights primarily since the time was so long. It made flashlight saves super easy if someone was close. The new animation is a little quick even as a killer. The speed is fine it's the animation that's so disturbing instead.
As for the last part that's a crock since if the killer adapts to what the survivor does they can counter it as well. It's like a chess game, each side makes a move and the other side tries to counter that move. The person that plans ahead by more moves usually wins in both games.
I always leave the obsession alone other than to burn that ds up early since then others will try and take the hit/decoy me off the obsession. The obsession if not playing smartly will almost always lead you to the other survivors. Thereby interrupting gen progress and usually getting you a quick hit or 2 in the process.
Except its not a one time use it can occur up to 4 times granted the non obsession will need some more time to get it to proc. You still haven't addressed your use of UP which is advice that is damaging and hurting killer who want to go the distance. I'll agree on the flashlight situation after thinking about it, it makes more sense that it make those saves harder. However you envision DBD as a chess game. Except its not. Its an asymmetrical game. Their is a designated power role its should be the one forcing survivors to adapt.
Perks like ds that undermines the killers power role to such a degree is embarrassing. You clearly have no understanding of what an asymmetric game is. The killer should not be the one countering survivors it should be the other way around. The killers powers and perks should define how survivors need to play. However the killers is the one who has to adapt his kit. When in god names does a survivor have to adapt their kit.If you were right every god damn survivor wouldn't have the same perks equipped all the time.
The only problem is now survivor's need to adapt to killers who have been handicapped by many of the games shortcomings which are being fixed by the way. This means many long term killer players who are used to this crap are performing at a level many survivors have yet to reach. In summation its hard now because you had easy mode on the whole time. Take hits was free because self care. Ds allows you to mess up without any consequence. Sprint burst allowed you to route inefficiently without consequence.

What you see is a debunk of the "these perks have a counter" myth, nothing more. Nice try dodging the issue, though.
What I see is you dodging the points I made yet again because you can't refute them. You and the rest of the killer mains whenever a survivor complains about BBQ. You say hide a behind a gen since that counters it. But since we all know that doesn't completely nullify BBQ it only counters it. So if now we go by your new definition you've all been lying this whole time because hiding behind a gen doesn't counter it.
Here's simple fact every perk has a counter, you just don't want to run sad perks that counter said perks. Because they don't completely nullify it. Well time to get those big killer pants on and stop with the excuses now that all the nerfs are coming.
You got your flashlight nerfs, SC nerf, SB nerf, DS nerf (incoming) pallets nerfed, so the only thing you have left is a few things. Once the devs fix those you whiny bunch have nothing left excuse wise. You and the other few keep hiding behind excuses and semantics while others like @Doc_W__HOLLIDAY adapt and have no issues.
Perhaps it's you that has no counter due to your gameplay choices, not because the perks limit you.
Counter [TRANSITIVE] to take action in order to oppose or stop something or** reduce its negative effects**
There just shot down your entire argument in it's tracks.
Bbq is extremely strong no ones denying it but every killer always explains what the problem is with nerfing it. A lack of time for hunting. If your not in immediate chase after hooking constantly then survivors will easily outrun your hooks with gen progression. Honestly i couldn't give a ######### about bbq's aura reading when I'm billy I just want the bp. But Its incredibly important for immobile killers like pig and leatherface. As for your counter statement its clear that enduring alone is not effectively counter ds as its still killing the momentum of killers buying survivors time to get to a palette and restart the chase. Would you like to play in a slow gen completion meta with aura reading perks nerfed or removed and an infuses on stealth. Because last i checked most survivors prefer the chase game play. Their is no choice in stopping the ds the ball is firmly in the survivors court the killer cant take any action to stop ds no hit or attack. Juggling doesn't always work because most ds players will stay away from hooks when getting downed.
The change to pickup was not aimed at nerfing flashlights it was aimed at sparing the killer additional time to hook and move back on to the chase. Adapt to make (something) suitable for a new use or purpose; modify. The killer does not modify decisive in any meaningful way that the survivor cannot with ease counter play.

Again, Counter means, that you completely nullify the perk, so the survivor cannot use it at all.DS: Enduring and UP: The first one makes the stun a bit faster, the second one makes the Skill Check harder to hit (but it's still easy).
SB: 33.33% of killers only have these add-ons, and they would have to use it every time to counter it. It also costs Bloodpoints, but SB is one-time buy (if you don't count tiers).
Self Care: I love this perk, because my Nurse has a big advantage when somebody uses it near me
. However, Coulrophobia, Dying Light and Thanatophobia are not big counters, it just takes longer to heal yourself.
Adrenaline: Renders Freddy even more useless as it wakes you up and heals with a 5 second 150% movement speed. Honestly, I don't really care about this perk. All I see are complaints about not being able to completely nullify something instead of adapting. I don't run Ds and only tried running it 6x last reset when I hit rank 12. 5x forgot to use it 6th time Freddy and 3 others rage quit.
I didn't run it at all this season on any survivor, instead I adapted my perks to fit my playstyle. I've hit rank 1 and pretty much stayed around there since. I'll probably switch things out to try some new things out soon.
Lastly counter doesn't mean you completely nullify it, that's what the term nullify means. For BBQ you counter it by hiding behind gens, doesn't always work but that's how killers say to counter it. For Nurses Calling you counter it by healing outside her terror radius. That's not nullifying it, just countering it temporarily since if she gets close it's no longer countered.
Adapting is a term i see a lot around ds. And believe me there an ugly way to adapt to ds. Its called juggling the survivor to a hook and camping them so they cant get off and use it. You might joke that'll lose you games and surprisingly it won me a ######### load of games even at rank 5 you see idiots diving hooks desperate to save their friends. I generally wont bring out this tactic unless survivors provoke me with any last second light switches. You clearly have no grasp of high rank killer game play if you run UP because if you did you know it increases skill checks receive which for upper tier survivors means more great skill checks which also means more gen progression. Congratulations you just help the survivors complete their gens faster.
The best current counter to ds is to leave the obsession on the ground or ignore them and go for the other players. If you eat the stun you lose any momentum you would get for the hook and reactivate the chase. Builds are also really hard to fit enduring as bamboozle is mandatory in high tier play alongside ruin.(obviously nurse doesn't need bamboozle).UP is only somewhat good with doc who can make skill checks a nightmare due to re positioning of cursor. Hes also a low tier killer as well. Stop propagating the idea that UP is a good perk. Its terrible and is an easy trap for killers who don't know their screwing themselves. as for adrenaline it should not have the wake up effect against freddy. The killer is trash enough without making adrenaline counter him as well.

Ah yes the time honoured DBD tradition of moriing the streamer. In all honesty I try to avoid ######### like that because streamers do tend to get it bad. However as players like truetalent and other youtuber's will point out if you got twitch in the name ya probably got ds and flashlight. I have played far too many games where this was the case. I'm betting its because they want to spend less time hooked and more time entertaining the audience still doesn't make it right that you have to so harshly mess up the killer with ds.FrenziedRoach said:From one smalltime streamer to another, do yourself a favor and take the TTV out of your name if your using it.
My life got 5X easier in this game when I took it off while playing survivor.
There are a lot of people who dislike streamers in this community for various petty and stupid reasons. If you play this to advertise your stream, you're in the wrong game - go find something else.
Not being rude - just telling the truth of the situation.

This seems a little broken i know traps are garbage for getting kills but may be we could tweak the timers so they go off in 2 mins as opposed to 2.30 mins and make tampered timers reduction 20 seconds instead of 30. Also whilst crouched as the pig you should have no collision.so she can be walked through.

Stream snipers can be dealt with by adding a delay on your stream and readying up with an early group if it take too long leave lobby start again. This problem is everywhere not in DBD alone. Hearthstone players like kripparain get this crap all the time, DBD is not the only game that has this problem. As for bans for camping and tunnel lets just say we did ban tunnelers and campers. Made some safe area where killers couldn't hit recently unhooked survivors, well then survivors could exploit the ######### out of it and the unhook could body block until their invulnerability elapsed. Also tunneling a survivor has times and moments when its pretty reasonable. If you have a team of ds players then changing targets will lose you so much momentum you can easily lose the game. Not many survivors pick up on this. Because it only serves to benefit them. Finally your bans are clearly being pointed at the wrong group here how is it the killer fault for trying to kill you after being unhooked. Shouldn't the blame rest with your unhooker who ran away and left you with the aggro or simply choose a really poor time for a save. Why not ban them?
In the end you were able to play the game you got downed once and died on first hook feels bad but if saves were free I guarantee you it would lead to serious exploitation by survivors. Nearly every asymmetrical game kills you immediately upon being caught and beaten. DBD is insanely generous with its 3 hook system. If I am behind theirs 2 gens left i need someone out of the game. I am under pressure to remove a player telling me i can't because of some arbitrary honor code is ignorance of the various strategies a killer needs to come back into the game. Imagine if I said I ban you for using hatch. That would be insanely stupid, irregardless of how unfair the hatch is towards a killer who worked hard for his 4K. Playing to your outs is important in any game provided you not deliberately exploiting the game or hacking all is fair game.
As for the killer buffs you need to play around each killer. Be aware of their kit and counter it with your existing layout. If a hag is in game focus on crouching around gens and totems. Try and trigger her traps when shes in the process of bringing a survivor to a hook. If its trapper disarm the traps where you expect them to be so future chases will be hindered for the killer. All of this you would know if you played these killers but if all you play is survivors you won't advance that far, as these killers will exploit your weaknesses and lack of killer knowledge. Even the best survivors play a varied palette of killers so you can fight them.
Zarathos, i understand your point of view but you have to understand mine as well.. I'm playing killer as well, and if I can win matches with 4k, WITHOUT camping or tunneling people.. Well then others should be also able to.. Am i right?
Whats your killer and rank the way you play is heavily affected by the environment your playing in. Right now i can 3k without ruin at rank 9 but that will change as I climb. Also some maps will mess you up pretty bad. The thing about camping is it pulls survivors into an unfavorable position which is really important if your wraith or pig as pulling survivors to pallet less areas will be mandatory if you want any chance of victory. Also well
coordinated teams Achilles heel is altruism. The knowledge they pass to each other will make victory nearly impossible unless you can turn their greatest strength into a disadvantage. Camp the hooked survivor with a patrol soft camp or hard camp depending on the boldness of the team and they will still try to save. This forces additional team members off gen which slows the game down.Again if you hate this kind of game play stay in the fun ranks. 15-8 but if you want to play competitively you need to be able to respond to this game-play in a smart manner. Its is still quite possible to run a killer around the map for at least 2 gens. This is a game of capture the flag when you go for a survivor rescue assuming the killer has no interest in protecting his objectives is ignorance plain and simple. This assumption that your strat work on every team is the height of arrogance. Survivors will adapt to your play-style by unhooking fast and pushing for fast gen completion. A hooked survivor puts pressure on survivors to get off a gen. If you alleviate the pressure by allowing saves to be made easy then your going to get annihilated. Every competitive game has the player form a offensive and defensive measures an offense and defense If you formulate no defense you leave a blatant exploitable gap that survivors will use to beat you.
If the killer you play is Leatherface you shouldn't shame the player for playing his killer the way he was intended a defensive killer who's chase is weak but defense is devastating. A killer like billy and nurse you can go on a full offensive due to powerful massive mobility.

You keep buffing killers because what?
If you gonna do that, so start ban people who camps, tunnels others (you have no chance at ALL to play any single match).
And stream snipers (i'm a streamer and this happens too often)!!! It's a cheat! Why don't you do anything about this?
Those 3 groups of people should be seriously get a ban. This game is no more fun because of those things.

Ran into a Myers using it. Wasted the perk slot just wasted it.Might have done it because the rest of the survivors were kicking his ass. Important note with obsession perks if you have say something like dying light or save the best for last you may still choose to focus down the obsession or avoid them depending on how the game is going. Many a time i was running dying light and chose not to chase the obsession because they were using the infiniteish areas or were extremely good at looping. If your ever playing killer and lets say your running dying light sometimes the best call is to just choose to not use the perk and hunt other prey.

I never expected people to stop running it. When it comes to multiplayer games players will exploit the strongest strategy to get to the top. They will fast track by any means necessary. I want to explain the damage this perks is doing to high rank play and get across that its counters are not pleasant and only serve to promote a cruel killer play style.MegMain98 said:

If the player using DS acts toxic, don’t assume everybody who runs DS is a toxic player.
Also you don't realise how Ds is damaging the upper rank survivor games. Ds players are notorious for letting their team die in order to get hatch. Killers won't pick em up unless there far ahead and many survivors have to take the fall instead of the Ds player who played badly.
Its funny how this perk screws over other survivors by boosting the rank of players whose mechanics are not as sharp as the cream of the crop. I would have never made it to rank 1 as killer if there weren't so many boosted survivor players as their is now. You can thank decisive strike for that.
Except its messing with the rank system. Players who are the obsession are left till last meaning they pip faster and end up populating the high ranks. They then coast on the skill of their teammates as they are hooked and killed last because the killer (in order to remain competitive) needs to target the non-obssesion players first. When people start dying the Ds player will back off and hide until the last member of there team dies.
You might not care about the high rank play but there are plenty of survivors and killers who are sick of this. You can't grasp how frustrating it is to lose at least 4 seconds of time to ds and the reactivation of the chase. If your not always hooking and you lose momentum losing a hook the game is over. Never mind teams full of Ds that can massively destroy any momentum you could gain as a killer.
It such a massive game inbalance. I had games where I saw a Ds in play with two last second flashlight switchers. Long ago I would play the game as if I didn't even know it was in play and barely land a kill due to the stun time and momentum lost. The next time this happened I choose to go against my own rules and face camp the Ds player when they got knocked down next to the hook. They all raced for the save and sure enough none of them did gens. I continued this strat for the rest of the game until the last player was left. He went for the hatch and I finished with three sacrifices and a pip.
This was the optimum play because I assumed everyone had ds and post game lobby I was vindicated with all 4 players running ds. This is what Ds counterplay looks like its facecamping the Ds players because they all play in a behaviour that obvious. Spamming flashlights and tea bagging. Sometimes stereotypes exist for a reason and the perks a survivor uses often gives you a damn good read on the type of players your up against.
So in summation Ds is a perk that only pushes weak players up the ranks with counterplay that is unfun and boring. But do go ahead and argue how it doesn't matter. The facts will always be at your feet all you have to do is look.
Decisive counters a players mistake, a crutch. NOED is a killer crutch, it can be countered but it is not ALWAYS countered. Oh well...if you don’t like decisive I don’t know what to tell you. It isn’t gonna stop people from running it as a perk.
More importantly I want survivors to know that the Ds players are the ones pushing a tunneling killer play style as choosing to chase the obsession will yield no hook as it is likely their carrying ds so when I see you running by a pallet spamming your flashlight. I m not gonna chase you if I know you have ds I'll just chill by the hook or hunt someone else.
So many survivors complain about tunneling unaware why the killer will chase them after unhooking rather then the saver will its likely your saviour is carrying ds and we are not gonna throw our game to chase the ds player and give you a chance.
I saw a truetalent video recently where he teamed up with a survivor to hunt the last player who was a Ds player he had downed repeatedly but never picked up because again killer momentum is lost. They tracked em down and hooked him as he was waiting by the hatch not bothering with gens for the second half of the game.
This is important to note as these players are a dime a dozen in high ranks and pretending their is nothing we can do about this perk is just gerrymandering. Things can be done an incentive to pick up the survivor a forced no mither state or a hook state immediately lost when Dsing. Perhaps the survivour will become moriable immediately after using ds now that's an incentive. Perks like ds need to have heavy consequences so the perk can balance its insanely powerful nature. -

You can get burned out either way...the toxic community goes both ways with toxic survivors and killers. I am obviously a survivor main, dying every round due to facecamping will burn you out. Judging from all the toxic comments they usually make, and the threats to abandon this game if their perks get even slightly nerfed, there should be tons of "i can´t take it anymore, survivor is just to unrewarding" threads. But there are not.
The base game isn’t fun or thrilling anymore to them because it’s too easy to run around with Flashlight, Meta perks, and Loop the Killer into oblivion. They also get bored easy because they get stuck on Gen Duty because the Killer won’t even bother to chase them. Simply because the Killer knows it’s a waste of time to chase the Obsession with DS and flashlight that Loops.
Playing on easy mode gets boring quickly, then they go toxic because they are bored and “have nothing else to do.”
I do agree though, some Killers are just plain toxic from the start. I’ve had quite a few camp me and I die, then they send me a message asking “Fun game huh?” or some odd crap digging for salt from me.
I don't get how survivors who are burnt out take their rage out on a killer who's playing for fun and isn't camping at all. Here the thing perk wise you could run any number of perks that allow you to evade the killer or make yourself harder to catch. But instead you run a perk that requires simply a skill check and not falling next to a hook. Compare that to urban evasion where you need to predict killer movements and crouch around them staying out of their field of vision.MegMain98 said:

You made my day. Play killer, biased survivor, make it to the high ranks, and you will be there asking for forgiveness.
Are you telling me your application of Ds is equally skillful or even close to the level of play I described above. As for BBQ and chili you can actually use that perk against the killer by moving a direction 4 seconds after an unhook and then immediately turning the other direction. It honestly does more damage then good unless your against nurse or billy who will be probably able to reach you before the 4 seconds elapse. My advice for those matchups is to stay close to the downed survivour if possible or put enough distance between you and the killer that you will be able to maintain distance from the killer before the 4 seconds elapse.
Finally you need to learn how to play killer effectively to combat them effectively. This goes for killers as well they need to learn survivor so they can better predict survivor patterns. -
I looked at the most popular survivor channels on YouTube and after heavy research found that ochido's channel is the most popular of all of them. I'm calling the kettle black because the kettle is black, ds is a dead give away that your a toxic player same as a killer running insidious. The difference is most killers don't run insidious.MegMain98 said:Killer mains are SALTY over decisive strike.
OK I'm going to regret this but bubba's weakness is that you can loop'em hard like any other killer you just need to deny him his saw by setting up your route so he can't get a saw hit on you. If he's revving his saw and he's a small distance away don't drop the pallet as often you will be able to loop'em for an additional loop. Also you can pallet stun him as he charging towards you this is hugely risky but it can really hurt him. Watch out for his accelration add-ons he might be slightly faster with the saw.BLUE_APE said:@Zarathos said:

I don't complain survivors can't have flashlights because its frustrating because I know it has counters and exists to give survivors a moment of heroism. However there is one advantage to losing as a survivor that a killer can't avail of. The company of other players to joke and laugh about the way the game went.
Also its alright to tell someone that if they get better they can win. But don't kid yourself if ruin goes down in the first 10 seconds you will need to keep people on hooks at any cost so camping will be mandatory as mechanically speaking their is no stabilising mechanic for killer, when your behind however survivors will always have hatch all that's required is a mere two generators and a lone survivor.
....Well I guess that explains why I hate playing against Bubba, because he was made for that play style.
But still...Also I have herd people saying he's one of the low teir killers? that also seems hard to believe with how strong I see other players with him are (when not camping)
Saves with bubba requires a survivor to be baiting bubba away. That survivor needs to be appealing bait tho if there at a massive pallet loop bubba isn't gonna budge. Never make the save close to bubba. Only ever make the save when you know bubba's got some distance. He can snowball the game hard if you mess up the save. As for hard camping bubba's, rush the gens and punish him. The most important part of this strategy is that the hooked survivor does not give up he or she has to hold on while others get the gens.
After that he's pretty bland there no clever strategy he can use and his power is pretty underwhelming. He's honestly pretty low tier once you understand when to and when not to make saves and understand how his chainsaw works. -
Ruin is all you need? Never mind the fact survivors spawn right next to the totem or the totem is often placed in the god damn open or right next to a generator. Credit where its due the totems spawns on the game is actually pretty good but that's one map they have to rework the totem spawns for all the maps and seriously reconsider the blood web system if i can't play my killer until I unlock a specific perk tied to a dlc killer I might add.MegMain98 said:

Ever since then I've been had that same feeling of terror beside a good chase or last minute escape. From my recent matches as killer I do notice I find myself more on edge, but this comes from hoping I don't get gen rushed.
The dev's just need to create some element in order to change the meta of the game. Generators need to take longer or require something else in order to fix them completely. Maybe find some parts around the map or something. Just anything to extend the game. My average game is about 10 mins if the killer doesn't already have ruin and add 3 minutes if they have it. Compare this to many other multiplayer games and something doesn't feel right.

First one, because some killers camp, I think "they aren't having fun they just want to win, so why are you playing?" This doesn't apply to all killers but some.

I was joking with friends about this land shark idea. Some kind of killer mole that could burrow towards survivors. Creating tunnels and having increased speed while traveling through the tunnels. Survivors could destroy tunnels by doing a similar cleansing action. Its land movement would be lowered but have his speed in tunnels be pretty fast.

Yes, definitely. And tell him BBQ is OP. Just let me make some popcorn first.Honestly bbq is op but stealth isn't what strong for survivor now. The chase is ridiculously hard to mind game now on account of the red stain (i am aware of looking away trick) and gens get done so fast you have to be on a chase at all times. Developers wanted to make the game all about the chase so BBQ's effect plays into the core gameplay of dbd. Hilariously most good survivors use BBQ to mind game the killer into thinking there going a specific direction. The only problem with this perk is how it gets abused by mobile killers like billy and nurse.
Honestly certain perks should be straight up locked off from other killers and certain survivor perks should not be combined. For instance perks like object and ds should not be usable with sprint burst and adrenaline as it makes the survivor far too strong. Then their are combos like BBQ and make your choice on nuslrse which is just broken. The problem is that this game got too heavily power creeped and now balancing the game is a nightmare scenario.

Ok so i may be rank 11 currently but i was learning huntress and decided to stick on devour hope as a fun perk. All game the survivors rushed my totem wondering what it could be. I killed one of them because they continuously dived the totem and at the end of the game at fking exit gates a nea (because ofc) goes for the devour hope totem even tho the gates were wide open and she knew i had a instadown swing. I literally got a pip because i defended my totem ya its not gonna work in higher ranks but people still do some dumb crap. Even at higher ranks as killer I would see survivors healing each other in the basement when i was Myers.

The rules the nurse break come with a large consequence. She is incredibly vulnerable to stealth. Her movement speed makes perks like urban evasion very powerful. She will struggle to maintain line of sight on her targets. As for your grunts of pain issue why aren't you running iron will. Its easily the second best survivor perk in the game every killer uses your grunts of pain when hunting. If you think this unfair consider the fact that killers have to run bamboozle to deal with large loops like the groaning storehouse or the tree areas. Also survivors need to move towards unpredictable locations. Don't run and hide under pallets the nurse knows you will be there. As for your blood how did she get a hit on you her terror radius is gonna give you enough time to get distance away from her. I run premonition and iron will and i can tell you nurses have a very hard time finding me.

I really wish there was some kind if filter to automatically delete posts complaining about camping/tunneling or SWF and proposing "fixes" for them.We can same the same thing about SWF and camping - the devs have made it clear that it's an intended part of the game and it's time to just deal with that reality, annoying as it may be.
Except ongoing games benefit from change. If you let the game get stale it will be less engaging. Very few games actually maintains its popularity when it remains the same. I agree that complaining isn't enough solutions and suggestions are good they help the game change for better or worse. As for the current meta i feel like buffing trappers and hags trapping to be in line with these hyper fast games is going to be hugely problematic as their weaknesses are geared towards survivors disarming. their equipment. These killer were always intended to have this weakness rather then deal with the problematic elements swf, bad map design, toolbox repair speeds and hex totem spawns. These elements should be prioritized. If Friday the 13th got something right it was communicating via radio. Survivors would have to search for radios to be able to communicate.
Someone had a rather cool idea of having killers tag team to face a bigger group of survivors. This would add a whole dimension to this game. It would take a lot of work but it would give killers a chance to communicate and work together. Even in games like league of legends teamwork is so powerful they made it so you can't queue up in ranked with anything beyond up to two players. If you want to queue up with a team against a solo player with coms and balance the game so killer can stand a reasonable chance to beat them it is not gonna be balanced for solo players queuing up by themselves. Why not just create an swf geared DBD mode with maybe two killers? Or just increased gen timers or hex totems cleansing times. How are any of these solutions unreasonable? I mean we do have one other option as killer. Just dodge but is that a fair way to deal with swf?

I just thought of an actual Wraith buff. How about....we remove the visible shimmer while the Wraith is moving invisible. Then, he fits his intended playstyle of stealth, but it's actually stealth. Removing the shimmer would give the Wraith the ability to uncloak close enough to his prey, get better use out of Windstorm, and land more Surprise Attacks. Survivors are up and running when they see the shimmer, meaning the Wraith has to either uncloak, as he has been spotted, or stay cloaked to catch up, and then potentially lose all the distance he closed by the uncloaking speed penalty. If we remove the shimmer, Survivors also have less reaction time to Lightburn Mr. Bing Bong before he uncloaks, so only those with fast enough fingers will be an actual threat. Please, devs, for the love of God look into this, and consider implementing it, as it will make the Wraith better than you think. Also can we in build windstorm into the wraith hes nearly unplayable without it and their are so many terrible wraith add-ons. I often feel like a salvage crew trying to get the better add-ons and avoiding the blatantly terrible ones. Hint hInt the bell noise decreases.

I don't want to say LF because when his power shines its amazing striking down multiple survivors however its so god damn short its rare you ll get to use it outside of the basement. I just wish they would add something to his hammer or increase the length of time he spends swinging his chainsaw. Also some of his add ons are completely garbage like reducing the sound of your chainsaw. I get there supposed to be based of hillbilly but at least you can run a quiet billy meme build. Whereas with LF its completely useless. Please behavior rework his ######### add-ons and give him something unique. Like maybe and ultra-rare add on that resets his swing if he knocks down a target. Maybe and add-on to his hammer that aflict blindness for his common add on.

I strongly disagree he's a much more varied killer then your standard fare killer. He forces players to adapt their play style making pallet looping less optimum then routing the killer across the map. The doctor encourages smart chase gameplay not simply milking every pallet drop for time. His ability to punish stealth is important as it forces survivors to not rely on a single play style to survive.Eninya said:@Doom_Punk said:
@whyareyoutunnelingme @Mr_Jay_Stark In regards to that, it is not at all bannable, UNLESS you take it so far as to not even attempt to kill anyone. An example, you've locked three really close gens as Doc that makes getting them really hard. But instead of killing them, you just shock them off of the gens whenever they get close and always stay in Treatment mode. This is bannable, because you can keep the game going for practically forever.
The Doctor is just cancer to play against in general. Such a ######### design. lol
The doc being "cancer" is a good sign that mean his gameplay feels oppressive and is a serious force to be reckoned. Doc forces survivors to adapt a routing play style that punishes survivor's who split gens poorly. Saying all that he is still a mid tier killer. If your losing to him its probably because your struggling with skill checks, gen splitting or rely to much on basic pallet looping mechanic's.
All this makes the doc a good survivor pub stomper. High tier players will ultimately crush him as he still is vulnerable to the usual killer issues looping is still a problem for the doc as he can be heavily routed across the map. He also losing time shocking survivors instead of just hitting them. The skill checks are hardly a challenge for high tier players. -

You can get banned if all your're doing is just chasing them off the gens but not actually trying to harm them.. That's considered holding the game hostage by the devs themselves. I was on the Pale Rose map against a Doctor that used that strategy where the 3 gens were really close together. He always keep people off those with a super extended terror radius. While he did hook and sac 1 person he always made sure he kept those 3 from being done.Myself and the other 2 solo queue survivors kept trying to do 1 of the 3 to ge gates powered and it took us over 20 minutes of going back and forth of being chased and occasionally hit 1 x but never chased far to get the gen done. The doctor could've easily just chased 1 of us and gotten way more points by doing that and queuing up.
It is not and we have confirmation, I dare to provide official source stating otherwise.
The killer objective is to kill survivors and to prevent them from doing gens.
Protecting his gens is not holding the game hostageIn fact, survivors that dont try to do gens if the doc 3-gen strats them, are holding the game hostage becuase they are not doing their objective and are just hiding somewhere
There was a dev stream can't remember the one but I'll try and find it where they discussed that because you're not actually trying to hook survivors. It's similar to simply blocking someone in the basement but not whacking them.
By the argument of not letting them do gens only and not actively even trying to kill them then the killer isn't fulfilling their objective are they? If the killer only does 1 of the 2 in'st that the same as simply blocking them in the basement abut not hitting them? Both actions keep them from doing gens and both actions don't fulfil the objective of hooking.
We know for an absolute fact that in 1 dev stream they've said that blocking the basement strategy is bannable. So again why would you say 1 is okay when the other isn't? Now if I'm wrong then I apologize about the 1st strategy since i might've misunderstood them.
Ok so hold on a cheery picking minute are you saying if i choose to guard the gens instead of chasing the legacy Claudette who just sprint bursted away to a heavily loopable spot like the tree that I'm holding the game hostage. Now that some entitled bullshit. you need to bait the killer away not give him a reason to return to the gens. I was in a game with a billy who we got 3 gen strated and one of us deliberately put her ass in danger to buy us enough time to complete the gen. This was a huge gamble that payed off and we got the exits and got out. Did she die, yes she did. But someone has to take the fall for that mistake. If every survivour is too scared to go for gens then you can't beat the strat but if you all risk your lives you can win a 3 gen strat provided you have at least 3 survivors.

Funny scenario was running a tombstone myers build. First you take judiths then j.myers memorial and begin stalking people using the following perks whispers, monitor and abuse, ruin and play with your food. Goal is to tier up first to level 2 find obsession get 3 stacks of play with your food. Then stalk survivors until you achieve tier 3. Mori 2 survivors within the tier 3 time frame using whispers hunt down the remaining survivors. once tier 3 deplete begin stalking again preferably leave survivor with large amounts of evil within alive. Then stalk again and mori the remaining survivors watch as you safety pip because this build doesn't interact well with the new emblem system despite the fact your successfully moried 4 ppl with Judiths tombstone a god damn achievement.

Its also a good habbit to brush up on some of the killers your fighting before going in since their mechanics have crucial weak points you need to exploit in order to survive. For instance the hags traps will not be triggered if you crouch walk to a location where a trap is.

Actually unbreakable plus Ds is commonly used as killers commonly slug survivors with ds. While iron will or urban evasion is better then unbreakable its still has its place is swf groups. Also high tier play will always demand you counter dbd balance problems with perks. Is Ds to strong then run enduring. Is game ending to fast because survivors are taking in crap like toolboxes and BNP's run ruin to slow'em down. Is self care screwing you run nurses calling. Is certain loops make your killer give up chases take bambozle. You see meta perks were introduced to counter problems that shouldn't exist.MegMain98 said:

Others I just plow through and get my 2 gens so I can hatch at least.
NOED though is IMO a clutch perk. So many bad killers use it and end up getting way more kills than they rightfully deserve. And I mean just really bad killers, ones that can't catch you even when you don't loop or never kick gens or break pallets. And to be clear, DS and NOED are both equally crutchy perks for either side. Both give you a freebie for basically being bad at the game.

Yup i think I was playing against you. The work is mostly in stalking. You need to evade micheal at all costs prevent him from hitting tier 3. Make him chase you around awkward corners it'll limit his stalking. If you can, make it so he hits tier 2 hard as late as possible. He moves as a slug since he gets movement speed penalty. If your the obsession hide. He'll either dying light you or is going to use you to get play with your food stacks. This killer changes the game in a huge way he doesn't play like any other killer when playing these builds. Stealth against myers is essential. His terror radius will probably be small as well so your eyes will be key to preventing him from tiering up. He needs almost 3 full ew worth of survivor to pull this off it takes a long ass time and will not work if survivors lose him and play stealthy and stay aware.
Your also not likely to pip its a meme build and you will most likely depip since your getting mori's and kills and not any hits or hooks

pick up the survivor walk towards hook drop 3 seconds after walking. Pick up again. If footsteps or flashlight is heard drop and hunt the survivor down.

You said freddy, he is end game strong so yeh. Insidious I use at random on freddy only for fun to see all auras. But it is mostly a dead perk, freddy does not have time go waste standing still. Certain maps you can maybe end game sweep without over altruism and noed, but when the doors are far from each other, billy or not that door is getting open, and peeps are leavingIMO Freddy has more potential as gen stalling early game. Do Ruin, Thanatophobia, Dying Light with Black Box and green/pink mori, kill obs in the first 60 seconds of the game, and then you basically ensure the game will last at least another 10 minutes, which with only 3 survivors is pretty much a guaranteed 4k. DL is insanely powerful on Freddy because of Black Box, as he is literally the only killer than can go right to the obsession when the game starts. I personally find playing endgame strat with Freddy to be high risk since he has to wait 7 seconds for anything. The only way it works is if you have 6 tokens of Remember Me and everyone is asleep when the gates are powered. If someone is awake or you don't have full tokens it will prolly be GG for you. Maybe if they buffed Blood Warden to always block the exit when you hook someone after they are open, or if they extend the time to like 90s for tier 3, but right now all Freddy can rely on is Remember Me for endgame. Early game is a lot safer and IMO easier to do, it's just most costly (since you have to use both a pink add-on and a mori).
Very specific build requires a mori. It also a really cheesy strat that focus your attention on a single survivor. You better hope there not good at stealth or are not extremely good loopers with an swf team behind them because if that's the case your screwed. Also a bad habit to focus a single survivor down its a really bad to tunnel in higher ranks as they will stick heavily loopable spots like shacks and buildings. Fun as a meme build but reinforces terrible play. Tunneling is really bad as I repeatedly mentioned it makes the killer predictable. Predictability breeds weakness which survivors will exploit. People like tyde and monto have run build like these and even with moris the strat is extremely hard to execute as the survivor is made aware they are being targeted. Also class photo is way better then black box as you can continue to track your obsession throughout the match. Look up any tyde, monto video on these builds it usually gets virtually no use.

This is fine as billy or someone with an instadown but some killers are borderline unplayable without it characters like wraith and freddy simply cannot exert enough map pressure if survivors rush gens and don't do totems. If the game slowed down I'd agree with you. However unless survivors make mistakes these killers will not stand a chance of winning as they simply are too immobile. Some add-ons can help these killer but those add-ons tend to be finite.Tldr a large portion of the killers in the game aren't proactive enough to be viable and need need noed to punish survivors who rush gens and don't get totems.
Dude I see Billy's and Nurse's run NOED all the time, and it's always because they are pure ass at being killer. It's a crutch. Buff those killers and people will STILL use NOED because they are bad. It's almost like clockwork, bad killer barely gets 2 hooks all game and then suddenly NOED. I've played against good killers, any killer, and they don't use NOED let alone need it. The perk is there exclusively to help bad killers, just like DS is there to help bad survivors.
Sorry it doesn't matter how low tier your character is or how bad of a killer you are, the game should not give you insta-down hits for failing. It's a comeback mechanic, pure and simple, and all comeback mechanics are designed to make bad players win when they shouldn't.
Obviously on nurse and billy its pointless it actually make the killer easier to deal with as the nurse wont be using devour hope or additional gen stalling perks. You have to remember noed is taking up a perk slot. I would prefer a noed nurse to one with pop goes the weasel or make your choice. Survivours like yourself push for this idea that noed is a crutch perk not realizing your contributing to a stagnant meta of nurse and billy. Fk me is billy a crutch killer? He has an instadown so poor time management is developed whilst playing him. Is nurse a crutch killer teaching killers to ignore pallet mechanics. Seriously your argument is ridiculous.
Sometimes in a game you need to shore up your weaknesses instead of enhancing your strengths. This breeds unpredictability and as a killer that how you get survivor mistakes you can capitalize on. Hell this strategy got me to rank 1 when i decided to play myers instead of the top 3 killers. No one was prepared for a zero terror radius myers with nurses and as a result were utterly annihilated. In the end a four man or 2 man kill is a kill. Who cares how you achieved victory as long as your not cheating. Lord knows survivors need variety and having killers like pig and trapper see high tier play with the help of these perks is a healthy position for this game.
Remember this comeback mechanic is being used on killers who have extremely low comeback potential when behind. The nurse and billy can comeback from the game much easier due to high mobility. Same cannot be said about others.

OK let's calm down now. If their is campy killers you need to punish them by rushing gens. I was against an insidious leatherface a while back and i started gen rushing the killer. Most killers when they see two gens pop will move out of a camp position. To try and salvage some hooks. Often you will need to let the survivor hooked reach stage 2. If they still don't budge, finish the game and leave killers who camp are results orientated or salty. If they depip or get little bloodpoints they will move on to a new strat.
I started the game with a focus on being an active killer not hanging around hooks but continuous over altruism made me paranoid and I begin to camp and patrol more frequently. Eventually I came to realise you need to have some soft camping and still be proactive in defending gens. All killers tend to go through this. But I want to make it clear if you get downed when exit gates are open then the killers best option is to camp the survivor. -
I swear I hit rank 1 recently and believe me survivors will dive for those saves even at rank 1 just don't get caught being to close to the basement. Monitor and abuse seriously mess up a survivors capabilities to make an optimum save.Hillbilly420 said:@Tombstone218 said:
I like to run Agitation, Iron Grasp, Thanatophobia and Monitor and Abuse. Agitation and Iron Grasp to get them to the basement, Thanatophobia to give incentive for other survivors to save the basement hooked survivors, and Monitor and Abuse so I can lightly patrol around the basement without having the heartbeat give me away. The strategy for me is hook someone in the basement, patrol around until I see scratch marks and then trap them in. If I'm lucky then it snowballs from there.I think you left out your rank 20 status.

Too much maps with vault spots and jungle gyms is a hell no to nerf. You might hate the killer but that's not an excuse to make an m1 killer horrendously weak at jungle gyms. As for countering him as survivor I put my ass on the line going for these gens early on. If ever we end up 3 gen strated I will put myself in harms way to get the last gen. This almost guarantees an additional kill for the killer but bad plays have consequences. This strat often heavily relies on overcharge which with practise can be dealt with.thesuicidefox said:@Orion said:
I'm fairly certain you can go from Madness 2 to Madness 1 without the "Snap out of it" interaction. I've never reached Madness 2 as a Survivor, but as Killer, I've had Survivors go from Madness 2 to Madness 1 when I go easy on them and stop using Treatment mode. And yes, I do play Survivor, on occasion, though I haven't played the game for some time due to real-life problems. If the strategy can be countered but isn't, then that's a player problem; not a game problem. No changes are necessary to a strategy that the other team refuses to counter. It'd be like if Killers started demanding a fix to Survivors healing in melee range because they refuse to hit them.
I'd argue that improving the netcode is better than removing this particular interaction.
No you can't. Once you are in Madness 2 you are there forever. I've read through the Doc's wiki, where are you even seeing that you can snap out of 2? I can assure you that those survivors were still in madness 2.
It's not the countering of the strategy, it's the fact that Doc's OVER COMMIT to the strategy. By that I mean that they never seek to actually end the game, just keep it locked indefinitely at 3 gens. It's borderline holding the game hostage. And your example is flawed, because survivors aren't refusing to do the gens. They are trying but they can't. It's physically impossible (or at the very least requires insane optimization even if the killer isn't that good), UNLESS the Doc commits to a chase. But they don't they just circle the last 3 gens, however far they may be, and just never let you do them nor try to kill you (something killers claim they want to do all the time). It's like that game where you have 1 super immersed survivor with the hatch open that refuses to even show themselves and instead just moves enough in some random part of the map you can never go that they don't get crows.
Improving netcode might work but I would honest rather vaulting ignore the Doc's shock attack. It seems like a much better solution that would be a lot easier to implement.

Monto uses it in a lot of builds and that man is a legendary player. Noed function is too give the killers lacking in instadowns an opportunity at exit gates to thrive or secure the kill. Much like dying light tunneling the obsession will make you a predictable killer. You could let them go and chase someone else but if the survivor copes on to what's happening they will stick to safe gens and powerful loops like the tree area or ironworks building.I see your point that power wise the speed boost and instadown ease of use is making some killers to reliant on it. But its existence is brought on by many killers having zero late game options available aside from extremely conditional perks. Blood warden requires exit gates be open. Remember me is depending on you killing a specific player.
Monto also has a habit of killing everyone and NOED never procs. Hell, almost every game where he does a NOED build and it procs HE LET THEM just to proc NOED. I respect Monto, and he is using NOED as part of particularly specific builds for entertainment purposes. But it doesn't change the fact that NOED is a crutch for most players. Even True has admitted NOED is a killer crutch perk. If NOED was somehow a perk that you built up over the early parts of the game it would be fair because at least there is some skill in it. It's not just given to you for failing (purposely or not). That's why I love Remember Me. It's a very underrated killer perk that can reward you greatly for going after an obsession AND it has more value in end game potential than NOED since it extends the game as opposed to just giving the killer some ability that turns survivors immersed. I run Ruin and Remember Me on my killers, with the goal to at least find my obsession once before my totem goes down, and it generally works extremely well. As long as I got at least 3 tokens before Ruin goes down and no gens are done, then it's pretty much GG for the survivors. It really is the best perk to counter DS because if you get hit with DS that's just another token you get. The reason no one uses Remember Me though is because it takes some actual skill to make use of it, where NOED takes 0 skill to make use of it. Arguably even "negative" skill in that it is exclusively a comeback mechanic. Hence why I refer to it as a crutch perk.
Some add-ons can help these killer but those add-ons tend to be finite.
Tldr a large portion of the killers in the game aren't proactive enough to be viable and need need noed to punish survivors who rush gens and don't get totems.

Try playing the game for fun, because this is not a competitive game. Some of my post game lobbies would suggest otherwise. People get pretty competitive in DBD. One survivor understandably lost the plot over how i brought in an ebony mori with a infinite tier 3 myers. It was pretty funny. Naturally i moried em all and got both cheevo's rank 1 and blood on your face I think.

Someissues said:So what are your thoughts on balancing after reaching Rank 1?
Survivors op, only 2 viable killers and gens get done to fast.
I did it with myers it was hard but infinite tier 3 and monitor and abuse + nurses calling carried me far. You are at the mercy of the maps you get sometimes as myers tho. The red forest was a nightmare if the basement wasn't in the shack.
-
Maybe I'm an unskilled killer but it seems the solution to these problems was to add a good map for killer and a good map for survivor. Off the top of my head father Campbell chapel favors killer whilst disturbed ward favors survivors. Then again i am playing myers so disturbed ward might be preferable for nurse and hillbilly. I feel like for stealth to work efficiently we need to remove some of the more powerful tracking perks. bbq and chili is a little too powerful on nurse and billy and whispers is really problematic in high tier play. What your opinions?

They could do something similar to hearthstone. Give out iridescent shards based on rank. Everyone gains them based on how hard they worked to achieve the rank they got.I would recommend implementing a casual and ranked play modes so people aren't afraid to play if it damage their rank. Also slight sidetrack is it possible to get rank one with Myers.

I wondered why everyone else is displayed as rank 2... Thought I'd never been up against a rank 1 or something!I got a weird bug where i was rank 2 and it said i was rank 1 on my screen. Its just a bug even if it says your rank 2 or 3 they know you should be feared.

DS is the "most serious crutch perk" if you wanna call it this way
I never said DS isn't a crutch. Only that NOED is also a crutch. If you need NOED as a killer I'm sorry but you are probably just a bad killer. I've rarely met a really good killer that was using NOED. Why? Because they don't need it.
I see your point that power wise the speed boost and instadown ease of use is making some killers to reliant on it. Why in gods name are you letting him set up the strat. You need to spread out your gens I have had dozen of games where survivors 3 gen strated themselves because I as a killer was to threatening to be near. Someone has to risk their neck to get these gens if you leave 3 gens close by and not done you have screwed yourselves. Its no different then picking a survivor up off the ground and getting flash lighted you could have played around it if you risked searching for the potential threat.thesuicidefox said:More proof that Doc 3 gen is broken garbage that needs a nerf. You are admitting you hold games hostage until survivors just give up and let you kill them. That shouldn't be a thing anymore than having a super immersed survivor when hatch is open that absolutely refuses to show themselves. If a certain strat has potential to make a game last indefinitely then it needs to be fixed.
Also Nurse, Billy, and Huntress are entirely viable at high ranks. They take a lot of skill though, which judging by the fact you hold games hostage with Doc 3 gen suggests to me that you aren't to that level of killer. Yet you still are high rank. That says something too about the strat.
If i see a dangerous gen and someone's getting chased I get on it and risk my own ass to prevent the strat. No killer will willingly give up four gens to secure 3. Even then 3/2 survivors can get it done if they risk their own assess. Its a horror game anyone familiar with the noble sacrifice. Why not ask bill and find out what it means to put your ass on the line for the team.
