I mean it is weak gameplay-wise, it fits his character perfectly. But all I have to do as survivor is break LOS and run into corn to deprive him of his power. Even then he is just an m1 killer.

I feel like its even worse with oni. Since his power relies on survivors being injured, getting hit through stuff like pallets and windows is irritating.

I think it is the worst with huntres honestly, the terrible latency with her hatchets are a nightmare

Oni is not fun for both sides I’m sorry. There’s nothing fun about facing a killer that gets almost a free down on you because your solo Q teammates took a hit or two.
All it takes is slapping on Akito’s Crutch and Topknot, getting a single M1, and farming blood for a bit for borderline free downs on the majority of maps.
Terrible design. That’s why I prefer ghostface to Myers. Myers can be 99% when you haven’t seen him all game. Ghostface can’t.
For a lot of people, he is. And it isn't always bad in solo queue.

Oni is a fun killer, but every oni I get is either laggy or bad. Very unenjoyable at times, at least for me.
I feel that, but any laggy killer is pretty unfun to go against.

I honestly think the soundtracks in the game are all great, my favorite one is p head's menu music and Oni's terror radius and chase music.

I made a thread about this a while ago, as far as I understood devs don't want prestiging to give any useful rewards whatsoever and want to keep it more as a bragging thing.
"Hey guys look at me, I spent days reseting my character for bloody cosmetics and the title of prestige one through three. Don't you see how cool I am compared to you? "

Yeah, idk why the perk wasn't made to do that.
-
It is actually very good, I recommend recording games with and without the perk to see the difference it makes. The amount of distance this perk can get you on survivors is phenomenal. There are times where you just barely get the hit on a survivor as they vault a window or drop a pallet because of this perk. It encourages you to go after everyone except the obsession if you want to get all 8 stacks which can make you a real threat.

Also to add to my previous comments, I don’t see how voice chat would help me, who’s a solo player. How does having teenagers playing music down the mic help me? Or being shouted at in a foreign language? Or somebody trying to dictate to me how I should play the game? I’ve only had a few scenarios where I’ve met nice people over mic. The majority of people that go on mic during online games are the biggest wastes of oxygen you can find. I just don’t see how or why this is needed.
That's what a mute button would be for.

The build? I assume you mean the infinite mending glitch with the addons that increase the mending timer infinitely. And no, I mean the one Otzdarva did in his "forbidden legion tech" video.

@Hoodied said:
What even is this tech?
A very situational but rewarding technique used by the ancient Legion mains of 2019-2020.
You use feral frenzy as some survivor drops a pallet and begins to blind you with a flashlight. However, you time the feral frenzy just right so right as you vault over the pallet they finish blinding you (takes one second to blind with any flashlight) you lose feral frenzy. Being blinded takes the Legion out of feral frenzy immediately btw, same for spirits phasing.
So, you end up on the other side of the pallet and can listen to a survivor who should be injured because you are a Legion, and then you smack them while blinded.

I’ve gone against plenty of PH mains- he’s no threat.
Doubtful, if you have gone against severe p head mains, then you should have seen the damage he is capable of. He is a very dangerous threat, his unique strengths separate him from the average killer that can be looped around, and can kill survivors quickly.

"Skill" checks are more of an alarm to make sure you are not sleeping.
Run in circles around a piece of plywood until you think you can't make it again or drop it one loop early to play safe.
Then it's just 50/50
Let's take a killer with a fair amount of effort/skill huntress need time to learn how long to hold a hatchet to get the angle she needs to hit
Needs to constantly watch out for los blockers needs to predict where the surivor will dodge of there is a lot of distance on top of doing this 2twice per a surivor while pressing the other 3 survivors
1 killer btw not included blight nurse and the rest of the cast
The looping process as I have said before still takes skill to learn. Skill checks are pretty mundane and easy though.
What do you mean by 50/50?
You sort of just said that huntress needs to watch out more for what survivors are going to do.

His power is too easy to dodge. You might as well just play nurse.
Cages really don’t give you much. You can’t see where they are put and many times you actually just send them near a teammate. PH is a pointless killer.
I don't think you have even gone against a really good p head player. The amount of damage you can do is incredible when using his POTD attack.
Cages can give you a lot of potential, with ruin they can save you a generator because you can cage and then pressure survivors off of it. If you need a player out of the game you can tunnel (which is a strength) without the fear of BT or DS. With the use of infectious or even M&A with it, you can better tell when to use a cage. If you think a person will go for the save and you are close enough, then you can interrupt the save and maybe even go for a double down.
PH is not a pointless killer, he is very strong. How do you think Otzdarva won 50 times in a row with him?

Killers kicking a generator would force survivors to kickstart it. It would be a super simple 3 second animation that would allow them to start repairing a generator afterwards so they can't just gen tap it. It doesn't even need an animation to make it easy on BHVR.
Trapper being able to carry 2 traps at base, he still starts with one.
Trapper having better bear trap spawns.

powerful? yes. unbalanced? not at all.
I know it is unbalanced, but what are we going to do about it since survivors are already losing another unfair meta perk? I am pretty sure that the many survivor players would not allow that and killers would camp a lot more.

Not really. His power is very clunky, at least on Console and he has very little map pressure.
His anti-loop is fine, but he isn't as good as Slinger, Huntress or Hag much less Freddy, Nurse or Spirit.
He's middle of the road, hence, not that good.
On console, maybe. On PC tho? He is an absolute champ if you know how to play him. He is better than huntress or deathslinger because you can use his ability at more loops where slinger and huntress would need LOS to shoot survivors. His range addons only make him better.
He also has his cages and final judgment abilities. The cages can be used to immediately gain pressure on survivors on top of being able to tunnel a caged survivor if they go for an unsafe unhook. The final judgement is also used to just save time.
-
You are supposed to use cages to both get pressure and save time, however you can't always cage survivors who are tormented so it is better to just hook them.

Well like I said it could be reduced to a minute or something. So 3 survivors don't spawn on a gen each and get popping. It's a better solution than increasing how long a gen takes to be repaired.
That would still be very unhealthy though, one minute or even 80 seconds would be too strong at base kit and the real fix would be redoing maps and reworking killers. Fixing the core game is the solution.
-
He is a fantastic killer what do you mean?
-
No, It would promote unfun gameplay and would buff already strong killers. People would not like hiding around for 2 minutes or look around doing nothing for two minutes. It is already a very powerful perk. It is also not the right solution to fixing the generators going too fast problem either, this is pretty much just another band-aid fix to the game.
-

Because the TR requirement is stupid. BT is supposed to give survivors a chance against campers. BT is supposed to help free a hooked survivor and at the very least allow someone to trade places on the hook with them. Freddy, for example, ignores BT as if youre asleep he doesnt have a terror radius. He can hit a healthy survivor and put them to sleep so the unhooked person doesnt get BT. Wraith, Pig, T1 Myers, insidious, etc all counter BT as they negate the TR aspect. It should just be a radius and that would be enough.
It definitely doesnt need another nerf. Its only 15 seconds at Tier 3 and can easily be waited out if you need to tunnel that badly.
Regardless, it is still an incredibly powerful perk.

Nope. If a survivor team is efficient on gens, you can afford to be wasteful with pallets. The only “skill” to playing survivor is memorizing loops. It’s not hard, just tedious.
That is assuming survivors are playing efficiently, or most likely well coordinated.
The skill to survivors is knowing how to maximize distance as much as possible while playing as efficiently as possible. In a loop, they have to peek at the right times and look out for different mind games, this can vary with many different killers. Memorizing loops and just memorizing in general is a skill, and one survivors can use to their advantage just as killer can. Knowing when to greed relies on the survivors predicting what the killer will do.
Survivors definitely take skill to play. Less than killers for sure, but they definitely take skill.

They're a private company so they don't disclose financial matters, and the scale of double digit millions isn't exactly right. The cost of a copy of DBD is around 25 bucks (console is usually more expensive), and they sold 5 million copies, that's 125 million dollars in revenue by the game alone. It's much bigger than double digit millions.
Plus, even if they are running on a profit margin of greater than 30%, BHVR isn't exactly a charity. Wherever they can take money, they'll take it.
I just feel bummed out because they could do so much more with the game, but either don't because they can't, or don't because they are greedy :(
I mean, we are barely getting things that we should have gotten a long time ago, such as colorblind settings, or just the most minuscule QoL changes such as the Wraith buffs.

I mean, if you really want to get into it, you can just hold W and predrop pallets while running mindless second chance perks. Which is sadly a very effective strategy.
Ironically, I'd also say it's harder to learn to loop as a survivor than it is as a killer, though the late 2019 chase music changes made my favourite trick, faking a loop and then just running away, ridiculously useful.
A survivor like that would only hurt their own team in the end tho. This would only work against a killer who doesn't really know what they are doing as well. Survivors definitely take skill to play.
And yes, looping effectively can be hard for newer survivor players.
-
Please explain to me how survivor doesn't take skill.

Well no, the game still maintains its core functionality regardless of whether or not you paid for the DLCs. I got them all through iri shards and auric cells. DLCs are a natural part of game evolution; it's either that or re-releasing titles every year.
And no, making DBD free will not draw in new players. Video games are not so expensive that it would turn off a significant amount of potential buyers. Plus, they just can't afford to do such. Players like me grind shards and cells so we don't have to pay a buck for DLCs, and that's not something they can afford.
I doubt they are in a bad spot with money, the amount of money they must make on this game has to me in the double digits of millions.
-
It has always been a joke.

6-hour tickets must be new; I haven't seen them. I only get 12 and 24 hour tickets through gift boxes and return rewards.
As for bots, their AI is very rudimentary. They make pretty suspect loopers and their decision making mechanisms often "short circuit," so they are indecisive between two objectives.
The best part about DBD mobile in comparison to PC DBD is hit validation; it is heavily in favor of the player with quick internet, and it's stricter than a British nanny.
As for money, such an option wouldn't make sense to BHVR. Remember that video game companies don't exist to deliver content and entertainment, they exist to make money. The standard for video games is that, in order to purchase a title, you have to actually buy the game. They put time and effort into developing the base game, conceptually and physically, and they want to be compensated for that. Plus, it's a major source of money when your game is becoming more popular. It just doesn't make sense to BHVR, or any game, free (unless you're going to go down the free-to-play route, but NOBODY loves those).
It pretty much is a pay-to-play. You have to buy several DLC's or spend hundreds of hours grinding the shards for half of a chapter (if you play both sides at least). And it just adds up to crazy amounts of money over time. That's not even including the cosmetics or battle passes. I think DBD should be free at base since it has so many DLC's and other forms of monetization. I think it would bring more people to the game because it is free and actually profit BHVR more since they would probably want to spend money on it.

As killer you waste precious time fine tuning the UI and as survivor you're wasting your teammates time. Should have a preview in the options like every other game would.
But once you do it once, you are set. It really isn't that bad and you can always change it easily.
