Play doctor on red forest if you think fps is fine on console.
-
Damn... You're right. I forgot doctor's awful frame drops and his ability is just a short and rather small visual effect. A huge flame would probably mori the game. 😂ToastfaceKilla said:The balance would be that using a flame ability reduces both killers and survivors frames to single digits. -
Perhaps the killer had sloppy butcher which will nullify leader.JanTheMan said:

if I am not mistaken, I remember another survivor healing me, but the healing bar was not yellow?
I will check again. -
Woow... That actually sounds awesome to me. I really enjoyed reading your descriptions. Thank you for taking your time to post this. You like flamethrowers as well, don't you? 🤔Boss said:@Yamaoka said:
If there was a flamethrower killer how would you balance the flamethrower? The Killer will have normal walk speed, normal terror radius size & normal height.
Survivors will have a healthbar in addition to health states.
This bar is hidden until you get damaged.
When you are completely healed, it disappears again. While holding the Power button, you'll start scorching, rendering the main weapon unavailable until you stop.
You can aim anywhere, but can't burn anything but Survivors. (Darn the Entity and its meddling, huh?)
The flamethrower has the meddlesome ability to burn Items that aren't being carried by Survivors when scorched for 3 seconds.
The flamethrower can also regress Generator repair progress by scorching them, though the benefit is 1 second regressed for every second scorched.
Yes, Borrowed Time is useless against this Killer, as the flames multi-hit.
But maybe we'll have to update it so Borrowed Time resists fire for like 3 consecutive seconds, idk. When burned by the flamethrower for 5 seconds in total, their HUD icon changes to Injured, indicating that they've entered the Injured health state.
When burned by the flamethrower for 10 seconds in total, their HUD icon changes to Dying, indicating that they've entered the Dying health state.
The amount it takes to burn Survivors can be changed with Add-ons.The flamethrower has a range of 10 meters, but it takes about a second to reach that distance.
The flames have a cone of 10 degrees when at 0 meters and a cone of 50 degrees when at 10 meters, with all the inbetween ranges aligned perfectly. (Like 5 meters having 30 degrees.)
The range & cone can be changed with Add-ons.Just an in-between: Naturally, the Killer is immune to their own fire, which would aesthetically be correct by giving him/her cosmetics which would all be immune to fire, or fire-resistant to some degree.
Oh, another in-between: Their main weapon is a fireaxe. (Idc if Huntress already has an axe.
Clown, Shape & Legion have knifes & Hillbilly & Cannibal have hammers.)Survivors don't lose blood against this Power, as all wounds are burns.
When hitting a burned Survivor with your main weapon, they'll start losing blood again.
Burning a bleeding Survivor will stop their bleeding.Fuel won't be a standard downside to their Power, but Add-ons may introduce it, idk.
The Mori would be to burn Survivors in the face point-blank while standing on their stomach with one foot.
@Yamaoka said:
Would an instadown be too much when getting hit by the flames?Yes
@Yamaoka said:
Would it be "balanced" if the killer had to "charge" his flamethrower before using it reducing his movement speed to like 60% for instance (to make up for the area that gets covered by the flames)? We have different ideas.
@Yamaoka said:
Or should getting hit by the fire cause the survivor to "burn" (status effect)?Yes.
@Yamaoka said:
If so, how should this status effect work? The "Burn" Status Effect.
As soon as a Survivor touches flames from the flamethrower, they'll gain the "Burn" for 60 seconds.
"Burn" makes the Survivor affected by it be in constant pain, whether they are fully healed or not, causing them to grunt from pain as if they are Injured or Dying.
"Burn" cannot be removed any earlier.@Yamaoka said:
Yes, I like flamethrowers.I noticed.

You have to keep in mind the developers want to add content to DBD for the next 5 years according to Cote so obviously future killers will have to be different from the current killers at some point otherwise you'll think one killer is just a copy of another killer.thesuicidefox said:@Yamaoka said:
thesuicidefox said:Flamethrower, no. Something to do with fire, that would be cool. Maybe like a zoning killer, similar to Hag or Trapper that can use fire to block off an area.
Some killers have an active and a passive ability (i.e. pig dash attack with no terror radius + reverse bear traps) so why not give the flamethrower killer an active ability (shooting flames to injure or down survivors) and a passive ability (zoning by temporarily blocking ways with lines of fire)? He'd be able to create zones like hag or trapper for a short period of time (as long as the ground burns which could be altered by add-ons) and chase with his active ability. Or do you just dislike flamethrowers generally?
I just don't see a flamethrower making sense in DBD. Killers don't even have guns, the closest thing mechanically is Huntress hatchets, and the closest thing visually is Hillbilly's shotgun cosmetics (which don't even shoot BTW). A flamethrower is just a weird thing to want in this game. Fire-based powers sound cool, but an actual flamethrower wouldn't fit.
The true question is how to balance things not if it fits into the typical picture of DBD.
To name some facts:
DBD already has fire effects (fire barrels) and killers who can "shoot" things. Huntress can "shoot" hatchets and literally down people across the map depending on skill, Doctor can "shoot" a 32m long beam of electricity through the walls and stop a survivor cleansing his totem with his sniper addons, Clown can throw his bottles which game-mechanically is like shooting a projective.
Therefore a flamethrower wouldn't be game-breaking if that's your concern. People would still be able to loop this killer in closed loops and his map pressure would be awful as any survivor would know where he is at all times.
In order to keep it somewhat balanced the flamethrower could have a short range (20m) without addons and the killer could become slow as hell while using his flamethrower (60% movement speed for instance) and the fire itself could cause the status effect "burn".

Sounds pretty neat to me. 😁 Or maybe they could make it so the killer can't see the survivor while using his flamethrower as he gets somewhat blinded by all the fire and smoke but he can hear the survivor screaming if the survivor is inside the fire radius and if the survivor stays within the fire radius/can't avoid the fire for like 5 seconds he/she gets put into the dying state?Funbag5 said:Your injured with a burning timer, once the timer is gone you fall into dying state. Once on the ground you can be burned again, which speeds up dying state. The only way to stop burning is jumping into a locker or having someone else put you out.
I wouldn't want the flamethrower to be like Legion's frenzy even though I would like a "burn" status effect. I like the idea of a shortened bleedout timer when burning a downed survivor by the way. Would change things up. But I guess the flamethrower would need to have a fuel-limit otherwise everyone would just burn all survivors right away after downing them once. 😂 -
Hell yeah! 😂 Evil Within was crazy good. I actually would like to see Laura, The Keeper and obviously O neal with his fancy flamethrower in DBD.doublev1986 said:I think you might like this also

They are absolutely useless. You can "somewhat" notice a movement difference when using the award winning chilli (purple addon) but I'm never sure if it's not just my imagination or a real effect. I wish his acceleration addons would get a complete rework and make him swing like 3 times instead of 6 but let him IMMEDIATELY go at 140% movement speed during each swing. A purple addon is supposed to be strong.
Right now you're better off just using the quick charge addons which makes him kind of boring as you can't toy around with different addons to change his gameplay.
-
Being generally interested in samurai stuff, flamethrowers and chainsaws I like playing as Spirit, Hillbilly and Leatherface. If only there was a flamethrower killer. Now that would be awesome.

Hmm that's an odd way to say gg 🤔

DS and NOED.

For some reason I find Freddy more difficult to loop than other killers because he's such a midget. Other than that he's obviously trash.NoShinyPony said:Freddy is the weakest killer. Had the same experience when I played survivor for the event. Terrible killers who don't understand basic mindgames and thus get mad and facecamp you after downing you with noed. I even had a Legion who couldn't hit me with his frenzy during the entire game but as soon as the last gen popped he came with his baby perk noed and 1-hooked me. Lame as hell. I've been playing killer only since I managed to get Feng's skin. It's less stressful right now in my opinion.
-
Except for the penalty when using his purple chili addon. You literally get stunned long enough to see the survivor run to the other side of the map 😂katoptris said:His accelerations add ons don't work tho -
What perk setup do you use? I know how frustrating a well organized SWF team can be but even then it's always possible to get 2+ kills if you play somewhat decently. I remember a disgustingly organized team when I played leatherface (map: father campbell's chapel). They'd sabo my hooks when I carried someone to a hook, d-striked me and literally healed the survivor I was forced to drop the same second as I turned my back on him to chase one of them but even then I managed to get a 2k without tunneling/camping. Had to slug a bit as they sabo ed loads of hooks but still... It was manageable. Obviously they'd tell me how bad I am afterwards but that's just their way to say gg I guess.Chicken said:@Yamaoka then you do realize that with a 4 man swf group you CAN'T kill anyone without camping unless you're a god nurse.
if i get 2 kills most of the games thats because i'm in a rank that suits my skills. if i'm #########. rank 19.
if i'm average: rank 9
If i'm good: rank 1
but this doesn't make sense when a swf group takes place because they're basically hacking with a third party sorftware like Discord. -
You realize the developers are aiming for an average kill/escape ratio of 2 which is totally manageable especially with solid killers like Myers, don't you? You don't need to 4k every game.
-
Do you have gameplay? Wraith used to be horrible but he's become somewhat decent with his built in windstorm and crazy addons.

What's your gamertag?

Swinging infinitely and immediately would allow him to follow survivors through every corner corner of the map during his chainsaw attack so a slow movement speed actually makes it easier not to hit a wall and obstacles while giving the survivor a fair chance of getting to a vault or pallet. Think of the badham preschool map stairs.Bravo0413 said:

Leatherface ultra rare: Start your chainsaw attack in 0.5 seconds and swing as long as you hold the button at the expense of speed (107% with no further acceleration) and a moderately increased cooldown. I know 107% sounds slow as hell but just imagine a leatherface swinging infinitely behind you coming closer and closer. Also it could still be combined with beast marks. The increased cooldown would be neccessary as some leatherfaces would just run through the map swinging all the time which would get annoying otherwise.
Just a thought.
You play Leatherface and chase someone down the stairs while charging the chainsaw. Usually you'd miss most of the time as you have to run around the vault during the chainsaw attack and if the survivor runs straight forward you gotta go right-left-right which creates a distance far too big for Bubba's chainsaw attack.
With the ultra rare addon you'd need be able to actually cover the entire distance and break through the pallets down there (depending on the RNG) if you don't bump into a wall or down the survivor right away making this addon incredibly strong even @ 107% chainsaw speed. -

It's a common error that's as old as the entity. It usually disappears by itself within an hour.

The in-game descriptions are often wrong or incomplete. Spine chill affects vaulting speed asaik even though the description does not mention it. Leader also says that you're repairing gens 25% faster in some languages (german for instance) which is obviously wrong. Hence the question.terrortil said:No, it does not affect vaulting. I take it you are referring to me? So you think I haven't played enough killer or I'm not at low ranks? I literally had to derank to rank 4 to find a game and I have more killer hours than survivor hours and I've been playing for approx. 1.5 years but I guess you know something about the game that I do not right? Playing killer is a joke these days since the devs removed tons of pallets, closed tons of windows, removed the pallet vacuum, added the exhaustion nerf etc. so if you still struggle then you're quite simply a bad killer which is not an insult but a plain fact. I feel like I can not even lose a game even if I want to. Lately I've been playing a lot of Billy and even if I bump into walls like a million times I still win with like 3 gens on average. I'm literally getting bored of playing killer because it's so easy at the moment. How can people still say it's stressful? I remember the days when even the worst survivor was able to loop for minutes as the sprint burst and pallet vacuum would break any killer's neck but now? Really? It takes 0% skill to play killer right now no matter what rank you play.
A well organized rank1 SWF team with voice communication is like the only challenge right now. 4 solo players are a joke to win against. -
The counter to noed requires to "find and cleanse" all totems which takes roughly 4 minutes allowing the killer to sacrifice a survivor before you have even touched a generator meaning you're dead unless everyone cleanses totems which will never happen unless you play in a SWF team. Decisive only denies one hook and stuns the killer for 4 seconds and can somewhat be countered by slugging, enduring, dribbling and distressing.XxAtomicAlfiexX said:@Yamaoka said:
Remove decisive strike and noed.noed is fine because it can be removed before it can even be used. there is no counter to ds except slugging which only really works with specific perks and juggling which can only be done when your close to a hook. ds will get used most games (unless the user got juggled and camped) but noed wont be. just destroy dull totems. there. you don't have to worry about noed anymore.
-
Camping and tunneling is not toxic? Ok then. Think of these words next time I tunnel you off the hook using spirit so you can't possibly get near a window or pallet. Don't forget to be nice and say "gg" after I tunneled you to death in less than 1 minute. 😊 Also enjoy waiting 15 minutes for me to open the next lobby so I can camp/tunnel you to death again in less than 3 minutes total. If that's the definition of fun to you then so be it!Blueberry said:Camping and tunneling is not being toxic, it's a strategy. Also, lagswitching is VERY rarely actually happening. It obviously takes more skill to play survivor. I can't remember when I lost a killer game last time. Probably months ago. If I play survivor however I usually die despite being an annoying looper who recently started tbagging every killer who tries to tunnel me off the hook. Had a blast against a tryhard Billy last night. His laggy mcdonalds connection hit me from a mile of distance and when I got unhooked he literally dropped the guy he was about to hook to tunnel me. From there it was just all about looping and tbagging this loser all game. Took him 3 gens to play "efficiently" because you know tunneling is so efficient. Most killers really should play leatherface as they're just as smart as him.
-
I actually play all killers as I get bored quickly but Spirit and Billy if I want to have a somewhat casual game with an easy 3k-4k.
-
Most killer mains are quite simply childish. After playing mostly survivor for the event I finally understand toxic SWF teams. They are the result of cheeky killers who ruin the game experience for solo players.
I got facecamped and mori d multiple times during the event for not going down easily. One of those wannabe killers ended up in my lobby the same day TWICE so I facecamped him as well and he IMMEDIATELY messaged me "you're trash ***** camper" after the game. What does this tell you about killers? I think he didn't even remember me because he probably facecamps everyone who doesn't go down in 10 seconds and tells himself he's a good killer lmao. This game easily has the worst community of all online games of all times and that's coming from someone who played RTCW 1.0 -
What if I told you I can get a 4k in 9 out of 10 cases without tunneling, camping, mori, noed? It's called BEING GOOD AT THE GAME.Circlesho said:@Yamaoka said:

Might wanna start with noed. Virtually all bad killers came out of their caves to use it during this event combined with ruin and ebony mori. Luckily for me I've just unlocked the Feng skin so I can return to playing killer now. People will enjoy having a game without a tunneling, camping, mori, noed baby.

Had 6 survivors who worked with the killer so far and ebony mori, tunnel, camp in almost every game... And of course lobby simulator. Very fun. Good thing I almost got my coins so I can finally return to playing killer which is ridiculously easy these days.
-
Devs should remove noed which requires even less skill than using an instaheal while they're at it.
-
Riiiiiight 😂
-
This event: 100% of all killers use ebony mori and ruin combined with noed and still camp+tunnel or rage quit if you still manage to finish all 5 gens or they have a survivor who helps them. I'm getting the Feng Min skin but that's about it. I'll take a break from dbd afterwards. People are a lot more toxic and salty than usual.
-
A power trip? Haha... No... At least not for me. I play with headphones and can't stand the annoying long scream after getting a hook so I hit survivors after the hook animation and leave. Those guys who keep nodding their heads and won't stop hitting the hooked survivor on the other head are just salty because they struggle to get any hooks.
-
Honestly sometimes I hit people just after the hook animation because their screams sound so annoying at some point.
-
XBOX Live was down for everyone for a short moment. Did you also happen to get a black screen?
-
What exactly is "evil" in terms of DBD killers? All of them kill which is evil. Only difference is some killers do it for fun while other killers got forced or do it because they can't control their anger or boredom.
-
Decisive and Noed.
Everything else is fine although some perks are in need of a slight buff to make them viable. -
Personally I've noticed tunneling is actually bad in terms of playing efficiently.
I have recently started giving up on chases everytime after about half a minute if I don't catch the survivor right away and I noticed people would get caught off guard near gens as they thought I'd still be in the chase giving me quicker hooks and more map pressure as I stop them from doing gens and chase them somewhat evenly.
This strategy is possible with any killer who can travel big distances quickly with his/her ability (nurse, legion, spirit, billy, hag, wraith) and allows all players to get bloodpoints, pips and simply have a good time overall while giving you the chance to practice chasing against multiple people. -
I've been playing Billy for the past 2 days and double pipped almost every game and (almost) had nothing but easy 4ks even against a full SWF team with decisive, flashlight and firecracker (red ranks). I even kept all 5 gens against the SWF team so "IF" he got "shadow nerfed" then he totally needed it.ThirdSealOPplzNerf said:@Yamaoka said:
