dont tank it with the intention to just hard win against survs worse then you, if thats what ur doing
Nah, I always play nice. If I think they're struggling I'll soft throw, or if they're babies I'll act like I don't see em and stuff. I just don't wanna sweat every game and even if you 2k every game your MMR skyrockets.
-
I've been intentionally tanking my MMR and it just gets boring sometimes.

Because the console manufacturers won't allow it other than the switch as far as I know and even that's not active yet, they don't want you to switch because it makes you leave their platform if you choose, let's say you buy all the dlcs on Sony and want to switch to Xbox, Sony doesn't want you leaving their platform and Microsoft wants the money for those dlcs you bought to have their chunk of the change because they get a cut for everything sold in their store, so if you just hop over and pick right up where you left off they're missing the sale of the game plus dlcs, but that's just my guess and it could be something unrelated but as far as I know it's due to the console manufacturers not wanting it to happen or at least that the answer we received when it was asked before , the rest about why is just my speculation that I feel makes the most sense
Ah, this makes sense. It's not that it's technically infeasible, just that each console wants their cut of the store. Thank you.
-
Maybe you could try again with less capslock in your title and actual content in your post? I think MMR is just as dismal as you do, but these kinds of topics aren't swaying anyone.

I think even the tightest three-gen has quite a bit of distance between gens one and three, for instance. Make it so the killer leaving the radius of the hook refreshes the time they have to be standing there before it relocates, and it'll actively reward you for patrolling instead of sticking too hard to the hook itself.
I'd also probably suggest that a chase in the radius also deactivates it, if I were to make this concept work. I'm not necessarily saying that this is the best solution, but it's one that isn't so fundamentally broken that it's a nonstarter.
The radius would have to be quite tight to not needlessly punish a killer for playing everything right. Seems like it would also be an implicit buff to mobility killers as well, which is not needed in the slightest.

It acts the same way as a cage. Camping doesn't cause it to relocate, it's automatically relocated.
Ah. So I simply don't have the option to decide where I want to hook. A tactic nerf to agitation.
No thank you. Hard pass.
-
@jesterkind said:
Oh, I misread- I thought you meant just the relocation if the killer is camping, not the initial hook. That part's bad, the killer has plenty of reasons to want to pick the hook that they're hooking a survivor on- if nothing else, Scourge Hook perks would be useless with that portion.
The relocation part is possible, but not the initial hook.
How do you determine whether or not a killer is "camping"? If I hook in the middle of three gen and I'm patrolling the hook and gen at the same time, I've done everything right. Why should my hook disappear?

Thanks! 1:08 is where they posted the kill rate chart which is always fun. 🙂 I still can't find the question where they talk about how the MMR works though (I found the question where they talk about why the MMR is hidden but not how it works.) Likewise the autoban question.
The autoban is at one hour and eight minutes on the anniversary stream.

Ok, I'll just ignore your comment then, I have no way to know what you're even talking about or if you're misremembering something they said or if it's even relevant to the conversation unless I can actually see the quote.
I am going to have to apologize for this. It was in the anniversary stream. Dunno how to share timestamps with the YT app, but the pertinent information is around 1:008. The QnA stream was where they revealed that the MMR system they've been working on for years is just a binary W/L evaluation. Equally idiotic.

What's the timestamp of the autoban comment? I'm not going to watch a 2 hour long video to hear the quote.
And I'm not going to rewatch the 2hr video to point it out to you. The game designer says it at some point. There were fifty threads pointing out how is an awful idea at the time.

Prior to EGC being added, survivors would open the gate as normal. EGC was added to stop the game being taken hostage - not to favour one side over the other. By keeping the doors able to be 99'd, it's giving opportunity for gameplay to still happen with being as balanced as possible.
Let killers kick em to regress gate progress then.

FYI Watch the video clip posted above, the lead developer is very specifically differentiating between “proxy camping” and “facecamping”, saying the former is a legitimate strategy they like but the latter is more problematic and something they have been actively trying to find ways to reduce to little success so far. He said to date their efforts to counter facecamping as a strategy have encountered issues that were technical dealbreakers because they broke other parts of the game, but they have a new possible solution in the works that seems more promising and he’s hopeful it will work out and be implemented “soon (tm)”.
The lead dev didn’t go into any details on what solution they’re working on, but he does make it very clear they consider facecamping a serious issue they’re actively working on.
In that video they also said they'd implement an autoban system. How's that working out? Not at all, for obvious reasons.
They come up with just the dumbest, most simple-minded stuff all the time and back off from it. How long did it take them dipping their toes into MMR before they went ahead and shoved it into the game? What solution could they possibly have that works and doesn't screw the killer over? There's nothing.
-
Absolutely fascinating.
-
It's not about winning, it's about having less to worry about in a given game so that they're not incredibly stressful every single time. This is partially SBMM's fault.
-
It's because survivors have control over nearly any given match. Their perks are more impactful and therefore pertinent.

We have 29 survivors, 14 of them male. it is as equal as it can get. Killers on the other hand, needs more females to be more equal.
Females with shoes, BHVR. For the love of God.
-
It should just work both ways. When you get hooked and a survivor is within x meters it pauses the timer for whatever duration. And when you are unhooked within and within x radius of a hooked survivor their timer is paused.

60s exhaustion.

This is why I bring Franklin's every single game.

It isn't OP it has multiple downsides I'd like to list:
- Takes 16-24s to bless the totem
- If you're interrupted all progress is lost
- It has a limited range
- The killer gets a very loud indicator you blessed a totem
- It takes the killer 1s to snuff a totem
- You CANNOT protect them
- You can't use it if all the totems have been cleansed or the only totems available are being used for boons you don't like/need
- You still have to heal yourself once you're done, but it can be risky due to the loud indicator, so if a killer is good with totem locations they can figure out where you are.
It already comes with way too many downsides it doesn't need even more to make it useless.
Yes, when you cherry pick only negatives you can make any perk seem underwhelming. You're being disingenuous and you know it.
-
No, because that means killers without hexes still don't have a way to deal with boons. It'd make hexes even more mandatory.
-
Yeah but that doesn't mean it has to be actively hostile for the killer.
-
I went vs. A team last night that had two boons and was coordinated at taking hits. Couldn't down anyone before someone else swooped in and took a hit. Damage state didn't matter cuz they just healed it and rotated blocks too quickly. Extremely frustrating.
-
I'm sorry, what is this? I've never heard of this franchise. A spooky person that shoots out orbs doesn't sound very scary?

But it serves its purpose does it not?
Sometimes? It looks to me like it just makes a gen or two pop during the first chase at a different location than it otherwise would. Or survivors just stealth out the duration.
-
I don't use it. I think it's vastly overrated and uninteractive. Just a boring perk.

Cute that you come to my thread calling me a liar. Try again tho. Is everyone else also lying?
Lying for controversy reasons or suffering from confirmation bias.
-
Time of day doesn't matter anymore for me. They're always long. NA EST. I haven't played survivor in like two weeks because of it.
I'm pretty sure anybody that says they're instant is just being contrarian and lying, tbh.

I have had instant survivor lobbies.
does that mean the killer players in my area are satisfied with the games current state? Or is this argumentation only working to support your narrative?
(and just to be clear: I do think that killer gameplay is not great currently)
That must be nice. I'd love to play survivor.

Trickster’s not exactly intimidating looking, Sadaka is at least really creepy.
I'm not saying she's not disturbing/creepy, I'm just saying she's not physically intimidating. Like I can't envision her breaking stuff, hitting people and carrying survivors.
-
I cannot even conceive of how she'll work. She's gonna be the least physically intimidating killer for sure, considering that she's a Japanese teenager.
-
I think nemesis is underrated. High B tier when his zombies are working properly. People seem to think you should be able to hit with the tentacle no matter what, but really it's used to get hits you otherwise would not. There's a valuation there between m1 and tentacle that folks are unwilling to engage with.

@jesterkind said:
Not a terrible idea- I'd be down for them just making chests quicker to open, too. They really should have a more useful primary effect now that hatch escapes are much more rare, even if it's just making their aura-reading ability a little more potent.
Absolutely nothing survivors do should be faster than it currently is. They need whatever time sinks they can get. Every second matters.
Yeah keys are pretty bad. I really like the passive effect of the purple add-on. Surprisingly useful. More stuff like that, maybe.
-
I really don't need to hear ten year olds screeching at me and playing despatico over their mics. A ping system is preferable.
-
I suspect they read the posts and dismiss them. Judging from the QnAs they have an internal culture where they think they can do no wrong and always know best.
At least they post here sometimes. Beats the hell out of most devs
-
I say the same thing all the time. People want punitive measures for killers because this behavior annoys them. They want to see their tormentors punished. This obviously fixes nothing. I advocate for a stacking bp bonus when the killer is in whatever radius of the hook. It doesn't fix the problem but it does take some of the sting out of it.
"Tunneling" is much more difficult to quantify. I'm not sure it needs any similar solution.

Not even trying to win anymore, tbh. Don't put that evil MMR on me.

I don't subscribe that much to the idea of "one side" getting things while the others don't; both sides got the comedy of snowmen trudging along in the middle of the trial. Now, that being said, I think that comedy would have been increased if killers could also hop into snowmen, so I'd definitely support that being made as a change if this rolls around next year, but that's a slightly different matter- an improvement, not a "fix".
As to your other points- did they really manage that, though? The snowman would have to be in an extremely precise location for that to work out, since the enter animation is nowhere near instant. If by the time you've caught up they're fully inside the snowman, I find it really hard to believe they wouldn't have reached the pallet in time anyway.
Yeah man, I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching other people in interact with the cool new stuff in the game. The stuff that does nothing but stymie me while giving my opponents an edge.
Killers should have gotten something out of this event. It shows where the devs' perspective and focus is that the entire event is focused around survivor enjoyment.

It kind of became irrelevant when inner strength came out.
Inner strength works a maximum of five times per game, across all survivors.
The power disparity between it and Circle is so vast as to be laughable.

Legion and Ghostface are the ones they're looking at next, according to the last QnA stream, so there's a relatively high chance that Legion will get some buffs whenever they figure out what they want to do there.
I do sympathise with the devs, though- Legion was a busted mess when they released, so it's got to be kind of hard to balance them without them becoming a beast again. My guess is that they're either going to completely tear down their whole power and start from scratch (which seems kind of unlikely), or they'll be receiving some minor numerical tweaks and addon changes, which seems like it'd at least help.
"Looking at" is not necessarily buffing. I'll never understand how people make this connection.
Moreover legion is braindead easy to balance. Reduce the fatigue cooldown, make their movement in frenzy slightly faster, reward players for chain hits.
-
Dunno if they hate them so much as they're completely ambivalent about their gameplay experience.
-
Rather than punish killers for doing the sensible thing, compensate survivors stuck on the hook. Give them a scaling BP bonus for the time the killer is near them.
-
I just play legion with the iri pin, brutal, enduring spirit fury fire up and send myself to the game. It's a moronic build but it's better than trying to farm. That's boring.
-
It's just because they're holding me hostage for the entire duration of the egc while I just wanna get to the next game. Yes, you won. Yes, I am on my phone on a corner of the map while you bm. Let it go.
-
Obviously the entity should pick up the last survivor and place them outside the exit gate and give them a little pat on the head.
-
Whoa. A thirty second cooldown? That's vastly impactful. Dead perk after that probably.
-
If you get use out of a perk, then it is not a wasted slot.
-
It's a very good perk and you will see it work it's way into your games soon. It took minute for boons to show up in literally every game as well.
-
Well, yes. I don't think the allcaps is necessary to illustrate it, however.
