It's not just solo survivors that think some form of kindred should be base, many killers do as well. Me, for instance.
-
No thank you. Nothing short of being able to break the totem is good enough.

I'd personally like the perk buffs to happen since it may encourage them to be used more.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2680723#Comment_2680723
That's a fair enough idea but I don't imagine lowering the range to be enough of a nerf to make killers happy.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2680737#Comment_2680737
I don't think killers would be happy because it then counters NOED. I don't mind the idea of only being able to bless a particular totem once.
Lotta killers don't care about noed. I don't care about noed and I don't care about hexes. They're too unreliable. I'd break totems all day if I could, they do nothing for me.

People who beg for the DC penalty to go away just want to DC on their first down or when they see a killer they don't like.

Hey friend! Maybe I can help clear things up:
Grades are not used by the matchmaking system. They used to be called "Ranks" and were used for matchmaking, but that is no longer the case. Grades serve as a monthly tracker for how much time you spend playing, based on the Emblem system (Emblems turn into pips, and pips turn into Grades). You can't lose a grade through de-pipping anymore, either! At the Grade Reset on the 13th of each month, everyone goes back down to Ash IV and starts the climb again, and they get a Bloodpoint reward for their previous Grade. Get your Grade higher, and you get a bigger reward!
MMR is an entirely separate value used for Matchmaking. It's hidden, meaning you don't get to see it. It has absolutely no connection to Grades: Your MMR doesn't directly influence your Grade, and your Grade doesn't directly influence your MMR. MMR doesn't reset each month, but it is constantly adjusting based on match results to try to find you balanced games. This is why it's called SBMM (Skill Based Match Making), it's trying to measure your skill and put you in matches with similarly skilled teammates / opponents.
We've been considering removing the Grade icons from the post-game screen due to this confusion. I was hoping we could leave them there to allow everyone to have a little way to show off / have some bragging rights, but I've seen lots of people confusing Grades with MMR (understandably so!). What do you think? Should we hide the Grade icons on the match summary?
Thanks for taking the time to ask your question! I hope this explanation has helped clear up some of your confusion so you can get back to enjoying the game. <3
Please consider letting us see our MMR. If we're going to be forced into a competitive system I think it feels much better to see an indication of your skill.

That still applies to Boon sounds? Thought it would be like hex where you can just around and hear it.
Seems like most sounds in the game use the same directional audio logic. It's not different for boons or hexes.
-
Yeah. Break chase to stomp the totem or the survivor gets infinite dead hard. God help you if there's a few of them up on your map.
-
I play them, but it's incredibly stressful due to how awful they are currently.
-
That's only *if* the audio occlusion isn't bugging out and making a tree or rock or wall block the sound entirely.

You've played as the Artist and feel it should be faster?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2677438#Comment_2677438
I have not, I only play b-tier and below killers. The flashlight thing seems very clunky in footage.
-
I actually think it should be faster. Flashlights should be a better utility item.
-
Because permanent -30% gen speeds would be ridiculous? Thana is already kind of a dead perk due to CoH, but this would just put it in the grave.

Tbf I’d rather watch paint dry then play against him. It’s pretty boring for a lot of people
Yeah? It's "boring" to go up against a killer that doesn't have a power after the initial damage state and has a power that is trivially countered by just running when you see an Ally go to the mend state?
Why? What I find boring is to play vs. Killers that have little to no counterplay or annoying powers that prevent looping. Basic m1 killers are a fun break vs. blights, spirits and nurses.
-
I don't understand how the killer breaking the totem would make boons "unusable" or even bad. Look at inner strength, it's five time use per match per survivor and it's an alright perk. A breakable boon would still provide a pile of infinite medkits, just maybe not where you want it after the first blessing.
-
Eh. I like it. It's thematic and gives flashlights a consistent use.
-
Concise and accurate post that addressed all of the issues with boons. Well done.

As strange as this might seem given the general tenor of the forums, not everything is about Dead Hard and Survivors aren't always injured to be able to use it.
No, but they will be at some point.
-
His m2 prevents dead hard. That alone makes it worth using. Yall severely underrate him.
-
Winter event? Heavens no. We get two events now, copy and pasted from the previous years.

Would you mind elaborating? I'm not sure what you mean.
A brief cooldown after a boon gets snuffed does nothing to prevent them from being an infinite, gamebreaking resource survivors have access to. So your boon gets snuffed while you're on a gen. Oh well. The cooldown is over by the time your gen is done. Rebless. It does absolutely nothing. Dead hard is on a cooldown and it doesn't prevent it from being one of the most powerful and ubiquitous perks survivors have access to. Why on earth would a boon cooldown do any different?
-
@jesterkind said:
It wouldn't be a terrible change, but you'd have to be very careful with the numbers to stop the bless time from getting too slow too quickly. I'd sooner see a brief cooldown on the perk after snuffing, personally, that seems more reasonable.
That does *absolutely nothing*
-
What is tunneling? What is camping? How precisely do you get rid of it?
-
@Phasmamain said:
How are crows easier to hit than bottles?
You can shoot up to three of them at a time, they travel infinitely, the reload is much lower and they yaknow..... Go through walls. Hitting with one of three crows is trivial, securing the down before they get repelled is more difficult.

@jesterkind said:
I'll take a very slightly compromised vibe if the alternative is not being able to see anything going on.
Old Coldwind and old Gideon's were awful for this, now you can actually see on those maps.
These daytime maps should be adjusted to be darker and the base gamma/brightness of the game should be adjusted upward.

Swamp sucks for both sides.
I don't mind it. It's the only map I can hear footsteps on consistently.
-
How does pentimento interact with small game and detectives hunch? Do you get the small game tokens refunded when the totem is relit? Do the Totems have to be revealed twice with Hunch?
-
Be the change you want to see. Run weird perks or themed perks.
-
Ya but what about all the other killers? I don't want to have to play 1-3 killers to be able to do well. I want them all to be decent.
-
I like the scourge part! Good ideas
-
Yeah, her map has really good Eldritch unreality things going for it.
-
You want invisible cops judging how you play the game? No thank you. Not with this playerbase.

That's part of the reason, yeah. The other reason is that boon totems are designed to be a back-and-forth where the killer can invest a small amount of time to snuff it out to force the survivors to not be on generators rekindling it.
Making them one-use negates that point, it makes them a minor resource that doesn't fundamentally impact the match that much, as opposed to continual slowdown in exchange for survivors keeping their buffs lit.
The "safe haven" part is just the reason survivors would want to go relight it, not the core reason in and of itself.
Also, since I've found people assume otherwise if I don't say it: That doesn't mean boon totems are currently balanced or that serious work doesn't need to be done. They need a lot of work, it just needs to not be killers breaking totems on snuffing.
To force one survivor to not be on a gen. One. The time investment compared to the reward is absolutely nothing and as long as boons are a pile of infinite medkits it will never even out.
-
I like it . It's thematic and gives flashlights a little versatility.
-
Nope. Neither of those are adequate solutions and just make hexes the only real counter to boons which is unfair to killers that don't use hexes(me).
Let me break the totem. Add a token system for blessings. Reward me for spending precious time to find and snuff the thing. Something, anything.
-
@Mandy said:
There are no plans to change the killer being able to switch in the lobby.
And I think you're under a misconception with regards to the MMR. They are separate per character, it's just that when you begin with a new killer your MMR is not the lowest, because you already have game experience, know maps etc so it wouldn't be fair to put an experienced killer with new players.
Considering how quickly killer MMR rockets up after a couple 4ks I don't think it would be that bad.
-
Please let killers have decent perks.
-
I forgot Territorial has a cooldown. That's pretty clownshoes.
-
It's a closed beta. Who cares? You and me aren't playing it. It's for influencers and e-personalities. Screw em.
-
It's truly awful and pointless.
-
Hmmm. I wonder why. It's very strange and definitely a mystery that cannot be answered.
-
Nope. Outdated perk.
-
He's pretty underrated. High B tier with the right perks.
-
His hitbox would be way different than every other survivor. And he'd need new animations for everything.

yeah I can't use Whispers for the same reasoning, it's why I also find Doc frustrating - the noise, I'm sensitive to the audios
You are aware that you are in a position to propose a change to these things, yes?
-
Used to be my survivors queues only started to get longer at 10pm or so. Now they get longer around 8 or even 7. Typically I switch to killer when they start to take too long but I just can't play killer for longer than like an hour. It's too stressful and unfun.
-
Just......crawl toward your team. Why are you setting them up to get hit by a killer camping you? This is a situation in which you have agency.
-
Limiting players' options like this is a very boring and inelegant solution to everyone always running the same perks.
The solution is to simply increase the number of viable perks in the game. Will there always be a set of "best" perks? Certainly. But increasing the number people can run will only increase overall variety.
-
Your boon is busted in line with the other boons, I guess. The other perks are very good. Smart thinking.
-
It goes down, but it rises at a much much faster rate. I'll have to intentionally tank it for five or more matches to get less sweaty opponents, but like two 4ks will put me back against four dead hard, Circle iron will sweat squads. It's pretty tedious.
-
Some of these are rather overpowered, but also very creative. Breaking the traditional perk mould.
