  • I like how it says "you may experience a wider range of ranks". Lol bro I'm getting literal rank 15s squads in my matches as red rank killer every day.

  • You can get hit while stunning the killer which makes this perk a very high risk, meh reward perk. Besides being potentially useful at unsafe loops I would still take one if the other exhaustion perks over it.

  • I'm at the point where I have all perks unlocked on the killers and survivors I play and enough addons so BP are no concern concern me. Bbq is good even flr aura tracking bit ill take it off sometimes for other more useful perks if I think they'll be better for the killer.

  • @RoachesDelight said:

Usually when I level up a character I don't play them until I have all the perks I want unlocked at very rare quality.

I started leveling up Adam to unlock deliverance but I randomly decided to start playing with him instead. I'm currently running We'll make it, Deliverance, Dark Sense and Resilience all rare quality atm and I'm kinda shocked by the outcome.

I find myself playing better , smarter and more efficiently. Maybe it's luck or maybe while running meta perks I was playing sloppier because subconsciously I felt like I had a "crutch" to lean on if things got bad or maybe the change was just reinvigorating and lifted my spirits. All in all I'm having a lot more fun now and not taking things so seriously.

I'm not trying to start a war over what perks to use or not to use it's your game play how you want, but if you find yourself getting annoyed maybe change things up a little. Hopefully some people will have the same experience as me and find themselves having more fun.

I started running lithe, dance with me, iron will, and quick and quiet just for the lawls cause solo queue is awful. To my surprise it's been very successful in juking most killers even at red ranks. It's refreshing co.pared to the meta.

  • @Mistercookie said:

It's random but once a perk has appeared it's gonna keep appearing in future bloodwebs until you buy it.

I make it a point to max out the perks I hate as quick as possible to get rid of them

This is the correct way to play the blood web mini game which is why it's such a grind.

  • Wraith would win by just standing still and waiting until everyone else is dead 😅

I have 100ms connection on the regular.

As both Killer and Survivor the hitboxes seem fair.

So, not sure what your issue is. Maybe start playing with the mindset that the game is using literal hitboxes detached from a Characters animations, rather than thinking this is Dark Souls level of hit detection.

You're saying you think huntress hatchets are fair right now?

I gotta agree with this - I am actively bad at survivor when it comes to looping in chases. Just doesn't click. I'd love to see me in chase as killer. But the active lack of basic game knowledge when I'm playing soloq is astounding.

I'm on hook running kindred... and watching three people crouch walk toward the hook as a killer camps me. The killer's terror radius is getting steadily louder and people are immersed in M1 on a gen. Running directly at killers who have one-shot downs to try to save someone on the ground.

Using Kindred or bond is like watching a bunch of clowns put out a fire. It's s a spectacle seeing people AT RED RANKS crouch walking behind some rocks or whatever ACROSS THE MAP FROM THE KILLER.

  • @Raja said:

Seriously just a slew of bad teammates. Played a spirit the obsession gave up on hook, I dropped a pallet on the killer now I'm obsession, gates get powered so I run to one both of the survivors are there and instead of opening it they 99 it and run away knowing the spirit is glued to me, she finally gets me, has nemesis/rancor and I die without ever being hooked.

My teammates then make their miraculous return, proceed to tbag my corpse and escape. When am I gonna get teammates like the ones I face as killer? I'm just getting complete jerks trolling.

Solo is 90% garbage at all ranks. Sure, you'll get the occasional good games where everyone kn your team knows what to do, but these games are few and far between.

Urban evaders, hook bomb for points, dcers, death of first hook because whatever reason, self care after every hit, memers, I could literally go on.

Personally I usually just do a game or two as solo just to get daily shard bonus. Usually it only takes a game or 2 to make me regret solo queue.

It's petty and a waste of everyone's time. You know what's makes you look good? Killing them normally without a hint of salt. Ignore the dude not dong gens. If mr clicky clicky gets left on the floor, he knows that he annoyed you enough to do that.

    You're no better than them.

This. I actually like the clicky guy because I know he's not doing anything productive while I murder his team mates. Flash light blinds are really easy to avoid 99% time. Also you don't chase these guys because that's what they WANT you to do and are most likely good at it.

It sounds like you're getting tilted by clicky. I suggest you take our advice and think more strategically instead of wasting everyone's time with bleed outs.

It's not bait actually, I've been doing this a lot as deathslinger. It satisfies me

    Ok.

In your next match as death slinger, disconnect your mouse so you can't attack for 4 minutes. This is what it's like to bleed out.

  • ######### no reduction to knife hits to injure/down? That was the most requested changes people asked for smh

  • @kyogul said:

    Isn't this due to latency?

From my understanding, what you see on your screen isn't always what the server sees, let alone what the killer sees.

I think it's a huntress problem. Deathslinger doesn't have consistent phantom hits like this. Hatchets need to have a serious overhaul for a long time now.

    Real talk,

Do people really get THAT annoyed at people trying to unhook themself before getting rescued?

Even to the point that some would let them die on hook?

I don't get it.There are so MANY other things to get angry at than this.

It's annoying and disrespectful. You can see on hook if someone is comming to get you so why even try to kobe? Unhooking creates a lot of pressure for killer because now they have 2 of 4 people not doing gens, and when the hooked person just kobes off while someone is in transit to unhook, you are effectively helping the killer. Also, you're denying a lot of points for the unhooker which iritates people because they just wasted their time running across the map to save you.

  • @kyogul said:

There's a common thing I've heard, some from veterans and some from non-veterans, saying the game is too easy and doesn't involve skill. Tru3 is one of the streams who often says something along the lines of "this game doesn't take talent/skill, it takes game knowledge". Others will often say something like people overrate how much it takes to get good at this game and it doesn't take a lot, Well,

First of all, that doesn't even make sense. Your ability to have skill and talent comes from developing that knowledge. And if said knowledge is so easy to obtain then why is it taking everyone at least hundreds of hours to get in the beginning stages of being competent, and thousands to potentially become good?

There's no excuse for not being able to get better. There are tonnes of resources online for how to get better at the game for both sides. Yet for some reason even with all of these resources, it's still taking people so much time to get better, but yet you still have people who call the game easy to play.

If it was that easy then why is someone who has 400 hours not almost identical to someone with 2000+ hours, let alone 1000? If this game was as easy to learn as some people make it out to be, then why is it that the skill tiers are so distinct from one another, particularly by the amount of hours someone plays? And this is very evidenced by the complaints of "rainbow" matchmaking, or matchmaking not within particularly rank tiers.

Why is it that these said people who say the game takes "no skill" and is "easy" are the ones who themselves have thousands of hours in the game? If it was that easy what took you so long to get to the level you're at now?

True is right, to be "good" at this game is mostly about game knowledge which translates to memorization of tiles, perks, and killers.

There is a bit of skill involved though which manifests as predicting what your opponent is going to do, but even most of this is based off of memorizing the items above.

Don't know if you have corporate mandates to fill BHVR, I don't really care, what I do care about is you sticking to this 3 month killer release schedule with all these skins and whatever and yet no public announcements have been made with your goals to increase the game in technical quality whatsoever. You say you are constantly working on optimization for consoles at least but it seems that is rather ignored as frames can still dip plenty into below 20's on console, game stutters are often and crashes happen sporadically between patches.

Combine this with utterly abhorrent build testing where numerous and sometimes character or game breaking bugs are let into live server with a "fix it later" mentality. I am honestly surprised how successful this game is, but seeing as DBD is in the same niche games like madden and fifa have where they can be as broken and utterly trash as possible but gamers still buy them because they have a monopoly on that specific game niche is fully apparent with DBD.

The developers have made it abundantly clear in their near half a decade working on DBD and even longer before it's official release that they do not care about making a quality product and see you the player as expendable dollar signs and profit margins. And if any moderators take offense to me saying this then explain the year after year of utterly abhorrent bugs, glitches, optimization, and technical failures and errors that has plagued DBD patch-to-patch since its inception, yet they are still holding to a tight monetary 3 month content dump schedule and running microtransactions and battle-passes galore whilst the game SUFFERS.

Entire chapters, characters, and maps are released broken, buggy, and unfinished. Playtesting is so non-existent only a few months ago a literal universal HOOKING bug was let loose into live and took the developers much longer than they should of to get a hotfix out to patch it. How a bug so core and integral to base gameplay got through even the slightest of oversight BHVR may have goes to show their negligence to create a quality experience for their consumers.

This isn't even to mention the atrocity that is their balancing decisions, never have I seen developers so cloudy and untransparent with their community to address integral issues to their fullest many of which that still to this day go ignored. Dislike facecamping and tunneling? too bad take some perks and shush up, dont like gen rushing and unbalanced maps? too bad take some perks and very underwhelming map "reworks" which still have yet to actually balance many of the ultra safe loops and tile structures dead by daylight has. Yet they are still out here selling battlepasses, skins, and new chapter right on schedule no matter how broken it is for your consumption and their monetary gain.

BHVR, show us you care about your game... that you actually care, you can patch perks and buff or nerf this and that all you want and make baffling "reworks" like you did to clown all day. But until you actually show you desire to make this game better in meaningful and fundamental ways, you are no different than EA or Activision, strangleholding and nickle and diming players to your monopoly that you desperately hope no real competition to come in and rock your boat made out of cards.

I read your forum TOS mods, nothing in this post is inflammatory or inciting negativity towards anyone or the developers, It is all information easily collected through observational fact which many in the community is already aware of; I hope you take that into consideration when reading this over.

We've asked for a health chapter for years now. I legit cannot play killer on new Ormond because the fps just tanks in chase.

This... is a troll right?? Huntress is one of the highest skill killers in game only behind Nurse.

No, it doesn't take a lot of skill to play her. I mean juat watch any youtuber that plays her. Hitting survivora around corners with school bus sized hitboxes for days. I honestly feel bad when I play her csusw every game I get tons of hits that just don't make sense.

  • I suspect they reduce knife hits down to like 6 and fix the bugs for main event, but that's about it.

  • Seems like a weird thing to complain about but ok.

  • @Zeus said:

To be honest, this is how every game should be in the first place.

Like, I've spawned in as killer on new iron works and as soon as the camera spin stops I have seen a survivor. Not even given a chance to move yet.

    This has happened numerous occasions.

Why is match making taking so long as a survivor at night. 15min wait time per match.

    Cross play on

Testing this on my pc and same thing.

Playing as killer it's instant. Well over 35,000 players at all time on steam alone.

Probably well over 250,000 players across all platforms. Yet waiting times are horrible

Depends on what time you mean by "night". You're gonna wait longer if it's 4 am vs 8 pm due to most people sleeping at night.

That being said, I live in East coast time, and found that after about 7 pm survivor wait times increase tremendously.

Likely it's because there simply isn't enough killers to match all the survivors (it's a 4 to 1 ratio).

Also, it's widely believed that since most players are in green/purple/red ranks, this also affects how fast you get a game because you have to wait "your turn". So during prime time evenings, survivors usually get a long wait while killers dont.

I don't have Deathslinger, Demo, Pig, PP Head, Myers, Ghostface, Oni.

I'm told that Ghostface has some decent perks that can be used by others, but that's subjective I know.

What killer would you recommend and why? Who is just fun to play?

Ghostface is really fun...in small portions. You'll be having a blast until you run into a swf that constantly reveal you.

  • I'm very curious how they intend to implement the new mmr in a game that has no concrete answer as to what a "win" is.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I thought we were over this, but apparently not. Flashlight saves through walls and through the back of your head are still possible. At places where you literally can't see the survivor, they can still blind you. So not only does the killer fov suck because it's so small, but it doesn't even show a realistic window of where the survivor can blind you. How is that fair? If you can't see the survivor on your screen, they shouldn't be able to blind. Maybe that's why people run Lightborn in response to seeing 1 flashlight in the lobby, because you never know when the game is gonna allow the survivor to break the rules and blind from an impossible angle. And if you don't think this is a serious problem, you're a bug apologist who will excuse some bugs only because they're not as common as others, or because they haven't happened to you.

Yup, it can happen. I've been blinded looking at a wall at 90 degree angles while in pickup animation. Thankfully it's rare though. I've heard shadow born may increase blind angles but I'm not sure if it's true or not.

I don’t want to give up on playing survivor but it’s getting ridiculous recently. How does the game think putting a red rank survivor with 2 rank 18’s and a rank 19 makes any sense? It was horrendous in every way imaginable lol.

I’ve had to start running medic builds in order to make sure I get enough BP because I’m constantly put with people who go down within seconds of being chased and I can’t be expected to fix 5 generators and save every person off the hook by myself. 😂

I just played a game against legion and the other three survivors would not. Stop. Healing. I was the only one who touched a gen. Thankfully Kindred revealed what was going on and I yeeted out of that game as soon as I was hooked.

I'm rank 1 survivor and my team was green and yellow with purple legion. Sigh.

I'm done with survivor for the day :')

Genuinely, if I'm rank 1, I don't want to see the colour grey anywhere near me.

Right there with you man. I usually play a game or two as survivor juat to get the extra daily shards and then I play killer the rest of time. Solo queue is just a dumpster fire most of time and not worth playing.

Please don't get the twins. Let that garbage can of a killer die asap.

  • Also an fyi restarting steam also has no effect. It looks like it's dbd servers that are down.

  • Thanks for confirming it wasn't just my computer or internet. Seems like dbd servers are down.

  • I have success with this build

Enduring is mandatory imo, because screw pallets.

Ruin + undying. Ruin works very good with legions power.

Pop or thana. Yup, another slow down and yes, pop is useless if ruin is up. But when undying AND ruin are down in the first minute (and let's be honest, this happens way to often with trash totem spawns), you'll be glad you have one of these.

Since you don't have tracking perks you have to rely on game sense and frenzy to predict where survivors are

  • @Bradyguy99 said:

Seriously I'm been playing so many games but every game I'm just have the worse of times win or lose (mostly losses since she's glitched to no end) so am I the only one or anyone else having the same problem? This would explain her low pick rate. And how would you fix her?

In theory, yeah. But in practice it's so frustrating having half your power being decided by survivors. Also vomit projectiles are just the worst in that you hit them visually, they make a sound, but they don't get sick or injured.

  • @Mysterynovus said:

I've had about three matches (2 as survivor, 1 as killer) where the Killer was AFK the whole match with perks I highly doubt a rank 19 would have and one where a Survivor who stayed AFK had all the crutch perks you expect but was rank 18. Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but I think they're purposely trying to lower their ranks. Why? Thinking cynically, to bully players in lower ranks. Thinking sympathetically, to avoid the hell that are the high ranks.

I'm sure there's some people who do this, bur cant imagine a lot. Sometimes People just have to go afk for whatever reason unexpectedly.

Inb4 Trickster release (He looks trash, but admittedly pretty damn fun).

The twins feel like they are currently amongst the least explored killers out there currently, which I think is a crime. This pair is possibly the most fun I've had in DBD in a long time, they feel strong enough to fit nicely into high ranks (I've been having PLENTY of success, and not just with camping, although with their kit, it's pretty much redundant) and they can split the game in such a way that no other killer can... Very unique style of play (which is arguably more than the trickster even has)

And sure, they don't have the best perk synergy out there.... But Victor is really that powerful that he doesn't need perks behind his downs. He gives a ridiculous amount of information and utility when he hits a healthy survivor, while making it all the easier to benefit off of m1 hit perks because you will know where the survivor is after landing vic now, and on top of that you get oblivious which means to that survivor, you might as well be a stealth killer unless they remove vic immediately (which as we all know, is not favorable to survivors most of the time).

They get SOOO much from their kit it is honestly overwhelming what they can get away with... And what I've spoken of only scratches the surface...

From having possibly THE best add ons in game (pretty much the most useful expose add on their is because it's simply set and forget, survivors will almost always kick victor or regret not doing) not to mention the one that makes victor a better franklin's demise,

To having possibly the best 4 gen coverage in the game, I mean if played right the pressure can be unreal

And the mindgaming their kit allows for (such as hiding certain m1 perks behind victor hits, keeping pwyf and stbfl stacks

What more can you ask for?

What do you all think? Is the killer super fun to play? Who do you think is more interesting? What don't you like about twins?

Fun for the killer, yeah if you enjoy slugging everyone the whole game.

For survivors it's the most UNfun killer to verse, probably even more than freddy.

  • Not going to lie, I will die on first hook if I go against a slugging and camping twins, or a forever freddy with bad team mates. Those matches are just unbearable to play as solo queue and would rather get on to the next game.

  • Bubba is life. Bubba is love.

Seriously though, yeah he stomps noobs pretty good but any loop with a window pretty much turns him into an m1 killer. Bubba excels at punishing survivors for being out of position so make sure you aren't out in tje open when he's near.

  • I'm still getting hit after I vault pallets and windows sometimes. Not as bad as it was prepatch but it happens enough to be super annoying.

Genuine question, why do you bother taking iri heads?

Especially at red ranks you know as soon as someone gets sniped there’s going to be a dc or two or killing self on first hooks.

End result is a 4 minute match with you only getting 12k blood points if that and then losing a pip!

    Waste of time and resources!

Edit: Oh and then trying to be nice with the last one or two survivors to farm BP. How dreary!

Iri head exists as a troll addon. There is absolutely no reason to use other than to see how fast people die on first hook or disconnect. Thankfully not many people use it, probably because it's just as much as for killer as it is for survivor.

  • @Pika_Belle said:

OK so I enjoy playing spirit. My build is corrupt intervention, pop, stridor and either bbq and chilli or sloppy butcher. The amount of survivors who say

"spirit requires no skill just a pair of headphones" obviously don't understand how difficult it is to track someone when you are completely blind relying on sound for the most part, and also the managing of her phase timer. She is a 110 killer when her power is not recharged she is weak af. Knowing when to save your phase, when to use it and for how long affects the outcome of your downs tremendously because use too much phase and go too far you're waiting a while for it to come back. Not to mention the guessing games when you are blind.

"stridor spirit you're a try hard, why use it" oh because at least one of you in red ranks is running iron will and i will touch on the fact again I rely on sound to get my downs and track you. Why wouldn't I use a perk that compliments my power?

Now at LEAST every game I get one teabagging little idiot or flashlight clicker, but when I am unfortunate enough to go against a 4 man bully squad they do everything in their power to intimidate and bully me being as toxic as physically possible in game and end chat. Now i dont tunnel, i dont camp, i dont play toxic, until the survivors start it on their end. I dont understand the bad manners at all or why it's needed.

Roll over to end game chat... If they all die its

"its only because you play spirit you have no skill blah blah"

    "you're trash"

    If they win its

"GG easy baby spirit get good"

"Got wrecked playing spirit, when that should be a free win"

when I've gotten a 10 hook game and 2 kills and didn't tunnel or play toxic, but the way they were playing is completely obvious that they were on comms. Cuz that's not unfair in itself...

If I lose I know and accept its on me,not blame the survivors or their perks.

Now the worst I've had is, "you deserve to get abused and bullied, because you play spirit".

Why do i deserve to get bullied and abused end game for playing a killer that i enjoy? Can someone please enlighten me on why survivors get so nasty? I'm a survivor main myself, and the only reason I get salty is by intense tunnelling. If I get outplayed fair enough, but what is it about spirit that makes survivors such whiney little bitches? I love playing against a spirit, its fun as heck, especially if she don't rely on tunnelling or camping to get her kills. Tip... Run quick and quiet, double back, make yourself hard to predict..... Throw in dance with me and lithe and damn it's hard to track you. Survivors queues are getting longer and longer and i believe it is because of the toxicity and bullying towards killers. No one wants to play killer if they just get bullied and abused for doing so. They wouldn't even have a game to load into if it weren't for the killers

You do your thing and play how you want as long as you aren't being toxic.

You can play perkless clown, get some kills, and some survivors will still call you trash.

  • @Kratooos said:

So, let me just state right now, I play both sides.

What I wanted to discuss was how both killer and survivor have those weirdly designed perks that reward them for playing like ass. First perk that obviously comes in mind is Hex: No One Escapes Death. Picture this. You and your team are playing well, killer gets a few (let's say 3) hooks, you do all the gens. Well then, game's over right? Oh, not by a long shot, the killer whips out a fat NOED and gets your entire team thanks to the handy 4% movement speed and instadowns. And all that, because you dared finish your objective without cleansing all totems first! I get genrushed rather often myself, but I still see my fault in it, so I refuse to use a perk that gives me free kills. Well, now that I've basically described NOED, time for some survivor perks. DS gets a solid nerf the upcoming season, so that's out of the way. What's still an issue, is not the perk itself, but the synergies it has with other perks like unbreakable or soul guard. Hell, even no mither, tho no one uses that perk. Now I'm not the one to call survivors who use it "small pp survivors", but I do find a few issues with this combo. Firstly, it's inavoidable and uncounterable. Some might say "well just wait out the DS" yeah, and let gens fly? it's basically a get out of jail free card, and the nerf doesn't address it. Well, I don't know much about balancing, just wanted to make a post of the few problems I see. I'd love to see some constructive criticism, feedback and all that. Have a good day!

Noed only really gets you one extra kill if the team is decent.

    There's 2 scenarios:

    1. Noed is found within the first 15 or so seconds after it activates which only nets the killer a free down/hook.

    2. Survivors can't find noed, so they juat leave, giving the killer only 1 free kill. This is the problem people have with it, it's a cheap kill for no "skill". Survivors feel cheated of an escape despite doing well to make it to the end of match.

Bad survivors will try to do hook trades which usually ends up getting the whole team killed.

  • @Yords said:

If I as a killer am being run around strong tiles by a good survivor in a way that is most optimal for me but the survivor still loops me so hard, am I being outplayed by the survivor? For example, at a tile with a pallet and a window I run them in a way where it makes it harder for the survivor to get a fast vault.

You might say "Just break chase" but there are times where all survivors are good and they run the tiles around you VERY well and mind gaming does almost nothing to them. So in this instance, you have to chase the survivor. But some killers and even a strong killer like Oni will struggle here because they are an m1 killer. You are also probably not going to even hit the survivor if they are good enough.

So, if there is literally nothing else I can do other than chase the survivor normally with no mind game potential, am I being outplayed? There is nothing I can do other than just chase that survivor in their favor. Again, this is not always the case, but just an example that happens every once in a while.

Seems like your asking what to do when all 4 survivors are loop gods and the answer is: it depends.

Obviously if you're in a position where chasing them is going to waste 3 minutes to even get a hit, yes end the chase and hope you find another survivor in a worse position.

Chances are even the really good loops will be put into a bad position atleast a couple of times per match so thay you can get a hit. Also, if they're in a really good tile sometimes the best thing to do is force them to drop the pallet, break it, and end chase. It's not ideal but atleast you get something from them and reduce their resources for later.

  • I'd like to know how exactly it will work in a game where there isnt a clear cut answer as to what a "win" is.

For example, if someone dies at the end of a match on first hook, but they completed 3 gens and did 3 safe un hooks and healed everytime does that person "rank up or rank down"?

  • If you have a team that STAYS spread out, then yes it's useless. However, this kind of coordination is rare and doesn't last long.

Legions power is all about keeping everyone injured. Generally, if you spot a healthy person or healing, frenzy time!

If you spot an injured person, you have to chase them normally because his power cannot be used to down (unless they forget to mend).

Legion is basically an instant down killer if played optimally due to how easy it is to injure.

Edit: sometimes it's beneficial to frenzy an injured survior just to reveal the locations of the others. You would do this if tje injured survior likely has ds up but you think there's another one nearby.

I don’t think it’s the best perk in the game. It’s just not rubbish, and it has workable advantages. Some I can 100% attribute to either me surviving, or helping the team.

If No mither is allowing you to survive and escape then the killer is inexperienced or bad. No mither players are always picked up after downed for this very reason which makes it useless in almost all cases.
