I'd rather have devs rework sabotage than implementing perma-sabo again. Before the nerf, sabo was totally not fun to play against, and even survivor would get salty when you slugged them, so it was just a loose-loose situation.
-
Franklin's Demise would just become meta.
-
Why don't you chase them out then?
-
The objective of all these "noob friendly" features is to close the gap between SWF and solo players that is part of the balancing process.
Btw Huntress Lullaby has an effect even at zero tokens, read better the description.
-
Nah, it would make getting one-shots too easy. Currently the best defense against MYC is to have more than one survivor go for the save, so the killer won't know who is exposed and who's not, and works even in the killer's favour since you have less people working on gens.
-
What you think you accomplish: you destroy the morale of the survivor and make him reconsider his life choices. He won't resort anymore to looping and will forever be nice to killers.
What you really accomplish: the survivor is happy because you're salty, proving he was hard to catch while his team can tbag you at the exit gates they powered in the mean while. He will do it again because the feeling of owning you was great. -

Of course it was easy. It's an event, not a challenge.OP's "point" is that it should be harder for Killers, because everyone should struggle to get free cosmetics.
Who said that? The event is an expedient to get more people playing and potentially new ones interested with the idea of getting free stuff, it's not meant to be hard.
I was being sarcastic.
My bad, it didn't seem so at a first read.

Not everyone, got it first try.

Actually me too XD But everytime I tried to re-do it for fun I wasn't so lucky, and I saw plenty of people complaining about that.
-
The idea is around since a lot of time, but I really hope they take it into consideration because it could make Hexes more than just a nuisance for experienced survivors.
-
Just hide them in a corner and pick them up before escaping to not risk. Or enter a locker when you're about to die. Grabs don't count as hits, so you'll keep your item. . You just need a bit of ingenuity.
-
It's not just a matter of hitboxes (that devs showed are not so different) but there are other factors such as 3rd person view vs 1st and the way survivors move when turning that makes looping effective.
Just an advice: try to use as little as possible A and D and move around with your mouse while just pressing W. You must be more careful to not bump into objects but it makes moving around loops slightly faster. -
Yeah, that's funny for a little while, like "haha dude I trapped you", but when they do it for too long that's just pointless griefing. The problem is that any kind of solution I can think about is potentially abusable to get an advantage...

Eh, I think Doc is in a very good spot. He is not considered so good because his power has more depth than average and so requires some understanding but believe me he can do very well at rank 1. Obviously not if you play him to make skillchecks harder and make survivors scream, which works only on noobs and potatoes. That´s why i proposed more illusions. Fake open and closed windows, fake survivors and doctors.
Yeah that is a good suggestion (I missed your reply). Allow the Doctor to play more with survivors' minds, not just "make them scream more".
A bit off topic: sometime ago I saw a Doctor using Insidious to trick survivors into believing he was illusion just to smack them as soon as they went too near. Don't know if it was effective in the long term, but it was amazing

What game do you play? DbD is already full of those effects: you can hear the wind blowing through leaves and grass, cricket noises, wolves howlings in the back ground...I feel like the sounds could be more apparent and louder so that everyone feels immersed (Even players like me who play below 50% volume). Also, this idea includes weather effects like rain and thunder which is something we don't have on a global scale (for every map).
Which is why I think they should look into this idea

The problem is that if they are more apparent and louder they stop being background and will be more distracting than immersive. I totally agree on weather effects though.

PWYF is short for Play With Your Food.
As for Dying Light, I suggest that because I'd like it to reward non-camping killers, but at the same time it should synergise with moris and Myers' addons (like the Tombstone Piece) since it's one of his teachables. Being the killers' priority is the main concept behind the obsession mechanic, so tunneling is inevitable. If anything, they could introduce new survivors' obsession perks to help them in that regard.Oh okay.
So what your saying is, that the killer gets a token for hooking their obsession (Max number is 3), I think the problem with that is that whats the point of leaving when you can just more tokens for camping and ensureing they die?The point is that not everyone enjoys camping, and for such players Dying Light is mostly a waste of a perk slot. With that little change a killer wouldn't be feel forced to camp the obsession to get some use of the perk.

But my idea doesn't re quire camping either, the killer doesn't need to be near the hook when the obsession gets saved, it'll activate weather or not the killer is near.
I don't say your idea is bad, but for a Myers' perk it would work very badly on him. If you have an addon to instantly kill a survivor, you wouldn't be able to use it on the obsession without wasting Dying Light.

Btw everyone can say they are "x mains", but that doesn't make their opinions more relevant (on the contrary, killvivors as someone call them have more knowledge and game sense than pure mains, imo)A Killvivor is a survivor main pretending to be a killer main. It's a very old Steam forums term.
I play both sides 50/50 but still consider myself a killer main as that's the side I prefer.
I actually always saw it used to refer to a someone playing equally both sides...

Your idea for Sole Survivor is interesting, I like it. About DS I don't know, I think with the upcoming change it could still be useful if someone has a flashlight.
Dylight Light imo should be more progressive instead of a all-or-nothing. My idea is that everytime you hook your obsession you gain a token which reduces survivors' repair speed (up to 3 tokens). The obsession death or dc always gives some tokens (don't know how many though). This way the perk doesn't necessarily promotes camping, but rewards even non camping killers.
I like your idea for PWYF but imo you should loose a token when you down any survivor.Sorry I'm not familiar with certain stuff with just letters whats PWYF?
Also thanks, Your idea for dying light sounds good, but that would still kinda require the killer to tunnle and camp. Like if the death of the obsession still grants tokens, then why would they let them get saved? Its not a bad idea, but I'm aiming for a anti tunnle/camping playstyle. but who knows?

If you believe a childs obesity has anything todo with anything other then horrible parenting you are trash and shouldn't be reproducing. Blaming a video game for your kid being fat is about as pathetic as it gets...
First of all I am Australian NOT American. Second of all you absolute dropkick I said that putting a fat person in DBD would be teaching kids that it's okay to be Obese (which it clearly isn't). Kids are impressionable so I think it has been smart for devs to put survivors in the game who are in shape and not "fat" which was the point I was making to begin with you illiterate halfwit.
Wait, so in a game about murdering people the problem would be... being fat?

MojoTheFabulous said:This would require them to make an alternate version of absolutely every cosmetic they create. Long before the cosmetic store was even a thing they said it'd be too much work.
It could actually be much simpler. The prestige blood could be a layer that is overlayed onto pre-existing textures. This would make it so that the only thing that would need to be changed is maybe the blood textures to be accomodating to the new cosmetics. As a beginner coder and aspiring texture mapper, this wish seems easy enough to be honoured. However, the Devs need to fix the game first. Maybe someday, I want this too.
Wouldn't applying the same texture to different meshes just look bad? That could be possible if skins were just recolor of the same model, but in most cases they are entirely different from each others.
Honestly I prefer the current prestige than an ugly version that can be used on other skins. -

I tried to be friendly to both killers and survivors but it didn't pay off so I'm back at murdering people unless I see they are potatoes.

It needs to base the Killer choosen off of PURELY the highest Ranked Survivor in the group.Example:
Rank 1, Rank 6, Rank 20, and Rank 9 Survive with Friends Team would only get paired vs a Rank 1 Killer.
All SWF bully problems solved.
The idea is not bad, but I can see a couple problems with it. First, you'd need to apply the same rule to other survivors if it's not a 4-man team, otherwise solo survivors would happen to play with higher rank killers than they'd supposed to. Second, I think it could make being the low rank survivor a bad experience unless they get carried hard because high rank killers tend to be rightfully mercyless and have no way of knowing who is the noob and who's not. I know it sucks to say it, but if swf is less attractive for newbies the game could suffer by it.
Gotta learn to walk before you can run.
If Lowbies wanna insisted on partying up with High Ranks then they better be ready to run, because they should ONLY get paired against a high rank killer based on there highest rank teammate.
An average still like the screen shot posted leads to rank ones being able to dick with people below them.
If you didn't wanna be rank one, you shouldn't have try harded your way there.
As I said I don't dislike the idea, I just see it's not a perfect solution. I know of people that quit because "it's too hard", imagine how many would if having a friend in your team, that's supposed to help you, could make it even worse.

What if blindness reduces survivors' FOV?Given that the survivor camera is already third person, it would have a pretty negligible effect. The pulled back camera shows more around you, which is why typically FOV issues are more noticeable in first person games. Beyond that, a tighter FOV wouldn't have an effect on survivor gameplay, it would just be a minor annoyance. It's a big deal for killers because having a really wide FOV could be advantageous and help you track/find people, but for survivors, there's significantly less focus on detecting stuff.
I guess he meant puting survivor into 1st person mode
No that would take too much work (mostly animation-wise) for just one perk. I meant more like obscuring the edges of the screen or something similar.
I don't think it would be a minor annoyance since their strongest tool against killers is their 3rd person view which gives them a very big fov. As a survivor I often find myself using the edges of my screen to keep track of the killer, especially during chases. Having a lower fov means I'd need to focus more on the killer and less on my surrounding and that can lead to fatal mistakes. -

Mmmh... while your reasons are valid I think the fact of needing to make choices is an important factor. Having an additional slot means that everyone would probably use it for Ruin while at the same time they'd have a complete build they couldn't have if they wanted to use Ruin. They shouldn't be forced to use Ruin in the first place. Why do i have to be forced to run a perk in order to win, like...without that, i can't. I don't think that's good game design. No matter what side you play. It means there's something wrong with the game the need to fix (in this case, the game time too short)
Anyway at least 1 or 2 more slots would take more power to killers, since it's already 4 vs 16That's not the point. The point is that currently you have to choose if committing to a particular build or making it less effective by using more needed/useful perks like in the OP's example but with a 5th slot this wouldn't be needed much. Ruin was just an example.

Definetly not a Hex perk. The only problem is that if it didn't have a counter it would be overkill for newbies and potato survivors, who are not who you want to make it harder for with this perk. Maybe there could be a way for the killer to loose stacks? As if its any easier for them when they face a doc?
Lullaby does not phase me after the hours i have in. I dont listen for the ding of a skillcheck coming anyway. I watch the screen. I also think it should be a regular perk. Its pretty weak. Hitting skillchecks after 20-50 hours is th enorm and they become a nuisance. After 50 hours you will hit them on a regular basis and start hitting great one. I nailed 4 great ones in a row tonight. Some people can do this all day.
The fact you can land great skillchecks doesn't mean everyone can. HL is a perk that affects mostly less experienced survivors, do killers really need a perk to counter them while leaving experienced survivors unaffected?
Now that I think about it, to make it useful against them HL could progressively reduce the great zone from skillchecks. -

Killers with low mobility would not be able to use this mechanic as much as the others. Imo it would just make the Hillbilly and the Nurse even stronger and increase the gap with other killers.

Personally I think it is fine as it is, but it should get some additional effect, it could show the killer's aura to the unhooked survivor for a couple seconds to allow him to avoid running into him and getting downed again. It would make it a useful perk to do safe unhooks.
