What do you mean bad unhooks? It's a bad unhook if you go down because you unhooked, not because the servers said you were grabbed even though you were standing straight up. Killers really do just want janky server unhook mechanics to stay.

I know your venting but given the devs and outright acknowledged how often the severs deny killers their grabs... To say the grabs are mechanically(As in which player has priority) killer sided is objectively wrong.

Also your doing a bad save if your unhooking pointblank in the killer's face and should be punished for it.

You're not entitled to the unhook and the killer has every right to punish you for bad plays.

  • So your complaining about a mechanic meant to punish bad unhooks... Maybe just get better at unhooking?

I mean grabs as a mechanic aren't very good and you want to remove the most important one(Which is meant to stop BT chaining).

  • It mainly depends on how they play:

If they are clearly people who shouldn't be playing against me I feel bad and might farm.

If they are cocky trolls going out of their way to annoy them then no mercy.

Not op lol, but he's one of those killers that when he uncloaks you can do almost nothing, I guess that's why hit and run is so fun/easy to use

Depends on how out of position the survivor is caught on.

A wraith thought that too and tried it against me on a generator then I kindly shown him how strong TL walls windows are against wraith.

He instantly left chase after the vault without getting a single hit nor driving me away from the generator.

You just have to pay attention to wraith's shimmer while he's approaching because if your waiting until you hear the bell its already too late.

Got put on that map against a Legion, who I don't think was having a great time of trying to figure out how to get to the red blinky spots when they Feral Frenzied. My friend died on his second hook before any gens were done because the survivors couldn't figure out how to get to us. And then when Legion decided to farm rather than slaughter us DbD crashed on me, stealing my cake. 😭🍰

Goddamn RPD is a mess. When it's finally ready to go live, which apparently it still has issues since it crashed my game, it needs to be heavily weighted so that players can learn the layout because right now it feels impossible to navigate.

The map is actually worse because the killer can easily bodyblock doorways to force survivors to potentially go half way around the map to get to the unblocked side at some hooks.

An example is ones near stair ways on the 2nd floor as forcing survivors to run from one stairway up to the other by body blocking the closest stairway door. This can easily cause the hooked to lose a hook state because of how long the run around is.

So this is one of the most exploitable maps by killers by virtue of its labyrinth like layout.

Ps. I found that out on my first game on said map! Just imagine what will be found after a month of two.

  • I like Demo's prestige or at least their weapon as the bloody pulsating claws look amazing.

  • I'd rather have haddon then all these badham's I've been getting...Solely when I am playing as killer too.

Simply because 5 badhams back to back is totally not infuriating as killer(Let alone ones like Oni) then the map refusing to show up when I switch to survivor.

From their movement. For example turning right continuously with a joystick vs pausing because you ran out of space on your mouse pad.

I have seen PC players turning constantly.

High DPI so small movements = full turning speed without running out of mouse space. Plus PC users using console controllers.

I have seen consoles pause and looking at said pauses from steamers its due to performance issues.

So...Do you have any actual proof?

  • You're correct and I misremembered the number.

I just couldn't find that for some reason.

Anyways its rather telling on how strong of a perk it still is that its unchanged, when you consider how many things can negatively effect its escape rate it being the same makes it oddly relevant for a DbD stat.

  • Remember the devs did show stats that in games where DS went off it changed survival rates to be 52%.

Aka in games where DS went off even post nerf it killers got slightly less then a 2k average.

Its STILL a god tier perk just less abuse-able then before which is great.

Edit: I know stats don't mean much but given its survival rate was shown to be literally unchanged when it goes off still means its an insanely powerful perk.

Edit2: I guess I misremembered its 49% escape rate still 2k average just every so slightly favoring the killer.

Nah, Ace players aren't usually wild cards. Moreso they're normally really, really good at the game. Like, scarily good.

Then there's the occasional child you get to bully but yeah, I'm terrified of Ace mains.

Ace has nothing to offer perk wise...

But remember the saying: Beware the man with nothing left to lose.

Or in ace's case he never had anything to lose and everything to gain!

The more sweaty PC killers in the event just brings me back to a question I have asked many times.

Imagine expecting a group of solos on consoles/switch to somehow give an experienced PC Nurse or Huntress an actual fight. This is just outright silly that crossplay doesn't allow for consoles to filter out PC while keeping the other consoles.

I already know the answer. Crossplay is FOR PC players. It's a "hey heres an easy mode for ya since we cant really fix balance problems" reward. I'd just like to see it officially acnknowledged. Seeing as how there is no logical reason for a filtering option to not exist. Well, the logic being they KNOW console players would not be playing with PC willingly therefore won't put in the option.

How many PC players opt out of crossplay? 0.00001 percent?

    I have a question:

How do you even know you face ANY PC killers and not just a different console killer?

A globe means a different platform not just PC and yes I have face good console huntresses and competent console nurses before you ask.

  • Jokes(Like this one) are meant to be funny...Just not to the people who are the butt of the joke!

That doesn't make any sense at all. If that scenario is not uncommon what makes you think it is fake?

You can say that about every other post including killers who get tbagged then getting 4ks.

You are either REALLY not getting the point at all about the entire thread being a bragging lie and nothing I'll say will change that. Or you're baiting me.

Either way there's no point in continuing this conversation.

    Have a great day!

  • @Shaped said:

Running someone for 3 gens is not rare. Why would it be fake?

Ok your clearly not getting the point:

If the premise is to grab about being chased long enough for a killer on a better platform to BM and they CAN'T KNOW IF THE KILLER IS THAT...

Whats the likely hood they made the whole thing up when the entire bragging section is made up?

  • @Shaped said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2349658#Comment_2349658

And you ignored the bm thing again.

Killer toxicity is not fake. It happens as much as survivor toxicity. At least in game.

Why does the BM matter if the entire story is probably fake including the BM.

  • @Shaped said:

So you guys completely ignored the bm he mentioned lol.

When someone opens the thread crying about teabags everyone shows support. But when this guy on survivor side gets bm'ed you mock him.

    Classy.

You do know the OP has no way of knowing he was facing a PC VS alternate console killer right?

That means there's a good chance this story is fake.

That's so embarrassing for the PC Killer if that's the case. lmao

You do know its impossible for console players to tell whose on PC or not right?

Globe icons just mean differ platform not just PC(Even on PC we even see globes for other PC users using a different store front.).

So there's a good chance that they ran a different console killer for that long.

I guess the game isn’t so survivor sided after all.

(If this is real)The stats really don't mean much with hooksuicides/Game throwers/DCes.

Mind you with all those INFLATE the KR well above normal and its still close to even.

  • I am in the cake rain of red ranks but I don't know how low ranks are dealing with it.

Also using cakes gives you more BP to buy more cakes.

So there's literally no reason to bring any other offering other then the cake if you solely want BP and cakes.

  • Double standards on both sides(Mainly on survivors because they are 4 times as likely to have someone with double standards in each game)

Tunneling/camping are the killer counter part to Gen rushing.

They are both ironically counters to and countered by each-other depending on who does theirs better.

While 3 gening is IMO the self induced counter part to pure stealth gameplay as they both are one side playing to stall for as long as possible. However getting 3 gened is almost entirely on the survivors for letting happen making is the least offensive of the two.

  • Your giving up your 4th perk slot for yndying to make your 2nd one last slightly longer making it not worthwhile most of the time.

You'd usually get the same protection but with an upside with Haunted Ground exposing all the survivors.

Haunted Ground can let you snowball early so while you won't have your 4th perk for long it will still do something other then keeping another totem up for slightly longer.

  • Being honest every BP add-on but the 100% to all catagories should be buffed to at least having double their current effect:

    Browns should be 100%.

Yellows should be 150%(with the 25% to all bumped to a 50% to all).

    Greens should be 200%.

The amount of BP they currently give is so meaningless that you just use them to get rid of them.

Also brown survival offerings unless your the obsession and escape will never give more then 2.5-3k back.

So for Survival and Sacrifice to triple so they can give more BP then they take to buy so:

    Brown Survival/Sacrifice should be 150%

    Yellow Survival/Sacrifice should be 225%

    Green Survival/Sacrifice should be 300%.

Last time I checked the dev's stats blight had nurse tier KR(Aka stats says he needs more buffs tier)....

He has had a infamously bad release state which has only been recently fixed(Along with an insane amount of buffs) so his stats are probably going to remain garbage for a long time.

PS. Devour hope isn't very good on blight as you usually get the first hit on someone with lethal rush which kinda defeats the entire point of exposed.

Plague, Trapper, Nemesis, Legion, Demogorgon, Wraith, Huntress, Billy, Trickster, and... I think that's been my current rotation.

And I don't even know why I mentioned holding W, that's literally every trial for me but I worked out that bloodlust does nothing. It speeds up the process of catching survivors by 2-3 seconds. Sure, wow, I'm bloodlusted, huge deal.

2-3 seconds is 9.2-13.8 meters which is enough to catch most survivors before they reach the next loop.

Remember they nerfed demo's pallet break add-on despite it only saving you 0.4 seconds(1.84 meters) per pallet as time for killer matters...A lot.

  • It was more or less because a group of around 10-12 people cried about billy constantly for well over 6 months strait so the devs nerfed him hard to shut those people up.

I feel like if Billy gets a revert it will be a sign of humility from the devs that they will revert things that just don't work...But we all know that will never happen!

  • In general the Short answer:no

Long answer: A lot survivors are sore winners so they try to harass/insult killers who are doing poorly. While most others won't give an inch and let the killer snowball a win.

So...Idk what you expected from this discussion.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

I hardly ever see him. Maybe it’s because he’s hard to use for console killers?

I would just say hard to use in general as a single mistake with his power can cost you a LOT of distance.

This is along with TL walls being surpringly strong against Oni due to his lack of a normal lunge while empowered can force him to drop chase if someone reaches one..

Also his camera makes it a nightmare to keep track of anyone without dedicated perks. Even when its not bugging out and throwing your camera in a random direction on nearly every empowered hit.

  • Given that some killers like Oni/Michael are literally designed around slugging(Oni Literally losing their power when they pick up a survivor and Michael has to maximize his limited number of Tier 3 empowerments)...

Also having perks like knockout/deer stalker that empower slugging...

I doubt the devs will ever change it.

  • From what I know(and I could be wrong or this is possibly outdated):

Its against the rules but the developers have no way of enforcing it because hardware can cause it.

Much like how crosshairs are technically against the rules but the developers have no way of enforcing it when people can literally tape a crosshair to their screen to get it.

  • He's a very(If not the most) feast or famine killer who loses horrible to making as much distance as possible early and pre throwing pallets to possibly deny him his power for 3+ gens.

Also spread out spawns are more or less an auto lose for the Oni as he can't pressure them and is so reliant on infectious fright he's the only killer who gets another killer's perk from an add-on.

So high rank meta just kinda dumpsters the Oni and he needs survivors spawning grouped to stand a chance.

Prior to the last patch i crashed 12 times, i havent crashed since then. So no, i woukdnt assume that anymore

Trust me plenty of people on that I think are console are crashing out in my games.

I know its a crash out as the most recent one for me was a survivor permanently stuck in the portal sealing animation long after the portal was destroyed and even when getting slapped by demo before they "Disconnected" aka crashed out.

  • DS is still a god tier perk and object is still insanely good in SWF so...

  • @MadLordJack said:

A lot of survivor mains are playing killer for BP and being massively hypocritical, and the remaining survivors are being sweaty AF and more than a little toxic.

    Bingo on both parts!

For the survivor sweat I'll show you my average killer game atm.

    Untitled Image

The DC was a crash as they were stuck permanetly destroying an already destroyed portal until they crashed out and the reason why one person died was because the other two took the hatch while being too injured to go for the save.

Of course I've used Dragon's Grip. that's 30 seconds the survivors can't touch the generator. On top of that the person who touched it is exposed for 1 minute so they can't touch the gen for another minute because the killer should be chasing them. If a killer hits a gen with DG that's at least 1 minute and 30 seconds that gen can't be touched for if the survivors choose to interact with it. Combine that with PGTW and other gen perks like Overcharge and you have a pretty mean build.

Ok your just trolling now. Have a nice day.

  • @gendoss said:

Killers wanted an answer to gen tapping and they got it. Now they want it even more powerful...

Have you ever used Dragon's Grasp?

It has a 30 second duration which means unless the survivors are being hyper aggressive on the generator tapping it will never hit anyone.

Then if its triggered or after its 30 second duration are up it goes on cooldown for 120/100/80 seconds.

This means in the realistic situation where no one taps it in its pathetic 30 second duration it has effectively a 150-110 second cooldown.

It has one of if not the single longest cooldowns of any perk or even any killer abilities in the entire game!

Edit: To give you an idea for how long that is at level 1 its max cooldown is nearly as long as it takes the doctor to get 3 Static Blast's (60 second cooldown on Static Blast.).

  • @Ryan489x said:

The only thing I don't like about the hags traps are that the activation radius is so big.

I've activated a trap a few inches away from the other side of a gen before. I was nowhere near touching it.

The Hag does have trap detection range add-ons which can make her trap trigger range ridiculous(I think at max its roughly the same size as freddy's snares).

However most hags don't run those as they are actually detrimental to the hag because it makes it much easier for survivors to get away from the teleport hit's range.

  • @Power_Guy said:

If you could ignore the traps as you ran by, they would be half as effective as they are now.

It kind of simulates the Survivor's attention snapping to the fake hag as she appears, and it also messes with the camera, so it can help in chases.

But here we go; claiming a power gives 'free hits'. If she chases you towards a trap; she kind of deserves that hit, so it's not 'free'. It's 'planning ahead'.

I don't get this mentality of '<x> power gives free hits!'. If the Killer used their power, and hit you, what part of it is 'free?'. They clearly used their power to good enough effect to hit you. 🤷‍♀️

The whole "X power gave free hits" is part of the narcissism a lot of people sadly have:

Instead of looking at the bad situation and thinking what they could have done better.

They think that they did nothing wrong and its the other player or their character who wronged them.

Aka everyone who says that thinks they are perfect and did nothing wrong when usually its their own mistakes(Or against set up characters being too lazy to disarm them) that costed them.

  • Doesn't that map have true infinite loops on it atm?

If so then its objectively a bad map even before you consider anything else.

  • Would you rather it be filled with garbage or things people actually like/need?

This would be a rare thing for some players. "Hex: Retribution" doesn't seem like a bad perk at all, honestly I have used it several times and it provides a lot of information and help. Other people would say that NOED isn't strong enough, others that Devour Hope isn't strong, etc. etc.

Notice one of the conditions for a minor hex is niche as retribution is a niche hex perk as without a major hex to actually get people to cleanse totems.

So by itself there's a high chance that it will never do anything falling into the niche category for minor hexes.

As for the major ones all exposed status Hexes I'd keep as major given that getting one of those on a snowball heavy killer can end the game very quickly.

  • I think minor hexes could have their own dedicated 5th slot while major hexes like NOED/Ruin/Devour hope/Haunted Grounds still take up a normal slot.

Minor hexes can still be put into normal perk slots.

A minor hex are simply the hex perks that have a minor effect or have a very situational effect.

    Minor hexes:

    Hex: Blood Favor.

    Hex: Crowd Control.

    Hex: Retribution.

    Hex: Thrill of the Hunt.

    Hex: Third Seal.

Hex: Lullaby?(If it stays as is then its minor but could easily be buffed to be worth a slot)

Minor hexes will also be labeled as such.

  • Killers have more challenges simply due to having the generic ones everyone has plus power exclusive dailies.

Killers have 27 dailies(Most being power based).

    Survivors only have 9 dailies.

This could be evened out with survivor specialty dailies and the following are examples:

David's Virtue: Unhook survivors or take protection hits as David 4 times.

Ace's Luck: Pick up a green item or better that you didn't bring into the trial as Ace.

  • I think a 30 second long version of it could be base kit with the full two minutes still being a perk.

Its mainly just to slowdown the pre-spread spawns and nothing else.

  • @Predated said:

Things you might overlook on Gideon:

    1. you can leave a chase early, you never are forced to dedicate to 1 chase untill you down that survivor.
    2. once a pallet is gone, it's gone forever(yes, its boring kicking more than 6 pallets, but boring/annoying doesnt mean unbalanced).
    3. generators are quite easy to keep pressure on, even for killers that have a hard time keeping pressure.
    4. it contains by far the most powerful basement in the entire game, even considering that basement is being surrounded by 5 god pallets(2 on the top floor in the security room, 2 next to the bathroom, 1 right outside the doors).
    5. it's very easy to force a deadzone.
    6. It's very easy to force survivors into a corner because you can always cut them off, which makes "holding W" quite ineffective as you cannot run from corner to corner if the killer uses the inner circle to cut you off(combine this with 5, and you can see how it can be a possibly easy down).

The Game is the epithet of "hit and run" type of playstyle. Keeping people injured whenever you have the oppertunity to, and once a chase takes too long, just break the pallet and force the next survivor to run the exact same way, oblivious to all the pallets that have gone missing.

The main counter to holding w is killers being able to cut survivors off. The Game is one of the few maps that gives the killer good vision on the survivor while also giving him room to cut off. If a survivor gets you through holding W on The Game, you're not thinking about what you could do to cut them off.

Yes, the pallets and constantly kicking them is an unfun and potentially very boring mechanic, which is The Game's biggest issue. DBD needs an environmental resource that has a similar gameplay effect as a pallet(aka, stunning the killer and blocking them off for 2 seconds), but has a different playstyle to it. The Game is lacking player interaction between Killer and Survivor unless you use the design heavily in your favor, but balance-wise? It's fine.

The real problem starts coming when you reach competitive levels of SWF, but there are many problems that exist once you start including competitive levels of SWF, when those problems do not really surface in public lobbies.

A lot of this stops working once you realize there's an obscene amount of pallets that literally blocks off entire areas of the map until broken(Mainly under ground with those stupid box walls).

This goes for the basement as your forced to kick BOTH of those before you can even consider basement plays most of the time.

There's literally nothing you can do about the pallets other then break then and hope survivors are bad.

1 … 14 15 16 17 18 … 52
