Wow, looks like someone missed the point entirely of this thread.

Please either come back informed or don't bother posting.

No they got the point and made a post showing how ridiculous all this hate for BHVR sounds. All the examples they gave are the very same situation as the seasonal cosmetics leaving when their season ends.

4 slowdown is its own problem, but Nurse's kit was fine in my opinion.

Beyond nerfing the exposed playstyle, I'm a bit nervous about the "6 Blink Nurse" they made now.

I always had fun going against Nurse before (except the odd Starstruck Midwich offering kind, which was not so common for me), and I think a lot of her new addons sound super fun, but that's gonna be something new to learn.

I wouldn't be too nervous.....they will have to be pretty precise to use 6 -Blino effectively before the gasp hits.

Now the God Tier Nurses (which are very few and far between) will be worse to face but they were already a nightmare to face.

Too much work, here's a band aid solution. I mean they reworked Freddy, I guess things are different now. A sign of the future of this game imo.

Yea but they didn't totally change his power. That's what I was referring to when I said that and when Mandy said it.

Also no one wants another Freddy style Nerf

  • @Zeb89AceGamer said:

She will be the most complained killer till devs rework her power completely

Mandy has already said they will never rework her power to something else because the time it would take to make a new power develope it then test it andbmake changes would be better used making a new Killer or do much more needed fixes to the game.

DBD isn't really a game you should play if you want to chill.

What I think people mean when they say they want to be able to play a chill game of DBD is that they want to 2-3k without having to put much effort in.

Also, you don't have PTSD after playing DBD. PTSD is an actual debilitating thing and not something people get because they take a video game too seriously.

I get more a more chill game experience from Rainbow Six Siege....and that's after I have some rando try to insult me on my style of game playing or who I picked to play a round....

Thats not how we do these things in the DBD community, for suvivors, these "tactics" are "legit mechanics", they play "smart" and "efficiently", for killer, using "tactics", you're a toxic sweaty basement dweller that has an agenda on "harassing" survivors and making their life as "miserable" as possible, get on with the times noob, good god.

Tunnelling and camping is META regardless of perks (of course slowdowns are recommended). The comparatively short duration of a hook phase and long gen completion time has buffed this through the skies.

If you think Gens have long times then you need to look up all the Gen speed perks Survivors have to make them go quickly....a face camping Killer is a free Gen or two if done right.

As someone who plays killer and solo both have their different challenges. To say if you struggle as killer is only down to skill is just flat out wrong. Sure, killers might be in a better spot but it's still not easy mode as some people like to claim.

Exactly as Killer it's a very stressful experience. I'm not a top tier player as Killer but I know my way around as them and get the job done....but dam it's stressful to do it.

If I want to be silly and have fun with the Survivors as Demopuppy looking for head pats they rush hard and go EZ GAME JUST QUIT or TRASH KILLER JUST UNINSTALL. And when I go to win mode still called trash killer.....

Pinhead sitting on his box in a snowman should had been instantly fixed- why does this game take so long to address issues? Things like this make people not want to play.

    A few reasons.....

    1. It's possible that no one was reporting it in the Bugs section.

    2. It may of been known but with all the Holidays no one was in the office to do any work on said issue.

    3. It's not a big enough issue to deal with since they were preparing for the mid chapter PTB and didn't have time or bandwidth to fix it.

Playing to survive actually going for the objective. I'm not talking about a duo trying to stall the game as long as possible, I'm not talking about exploiting glitches, I'm just talking about trying to outlive the other survive and escape. If the game goes down to 2 survivors in about 8 minutes and the killer can't find and down one of the other two survivors in 52 minutes after that that is literally a skill issue. Realistically it shouldn't take longer than 5 or 6 minutes if the killer has any competence at all.

Surviving is not a objective but the GOAL of Survivors.....thier objective is to REPAIR GENS and ESCAPE either through the doors or hatch. But Mandy and the Devs have said that hiding and not doing Gens is holding the game hostage and liable to bans.

It's dosnt matter how you feel about this because it's moot point when things have been specifically said about this

    Read the context before that.

Not odd in a meta where people idle at a hook and camp and tunnel the same person.

Buts it's a legit strat to Tunnel and camp a survivor....just like that 3 man body blocking so sorry you can't have your cake and eat it too....just because you don't like I'd dosnt make it any less a strat to use....

You're right. Truthfully, devs should implement some type of anti-AFK system. Something like survivors getting their aura revealed after not interacting with anything after maybe 3 minutes. A system like that could work and would help.

Plus, I'm pretty sure devs added a system that makes the game end automatically after an hour in-game. This also helps a little but they should shorten it to something like 40 minutes. An hour is far too long.

Sadly they can avoid it like they do now with the AFK crows....but fun fact Iron Maiden is a lovely perk to deal with those hostage takers....

The odds of the OP being destroyed every game due to being matched with "high mmr survivors" is basically zero.

Everybody has bad games. Hell, everybody has a bad string of games but they were pretty clear that it's been every game

Though through all of OPs ummm Drama performance they do have a small point about Survivor Speed Meta but sadly that is connected to Killer Regression Meta...since one can't seem to exist without the other.

When I was playing before I started my break.....

(Lookie someone can stop playing without announcing it on the forums)

....I did well when I didn't face a Gen Speed team but when I faced 2 or more survivors with Gen speed perks I did have a difficult time....not impossible just difficult.

  • @PsychoMantis790 said:

Sometimes it does get frustrating, but one of their purposes is to survive so you can't blame em for trying right? lol

But they must be careful by doing that because if it's the last two survivors and they are locker hoping to avoid crows and not doing Gens they CAN be reported for holding the game hostage since they are refusing to do thier main objective

When playing online, it is difficult to immerse yourself into the atmosphere of the game since your objective is to escape as fast as possible, so it would be great if there was a mode allowing you to immerse yourself in the environments crafted by the developers and to explore the different maps of Dead by Daylight in a safe, devoid of any task or danger environment.

Just play a custom game with Bot Survivors is the best option I can say to do. They won't Speed through Gens as fast as players but may give you a chance to check out the realms a bit.

  • @JustWhimsical said:

With less variety Nurses will be forced to either go for information or straight up gen regression, I agree that the exposed perks were a good change, but I feel like we are losing a lot of variety with the change. Used to think it was positive, but then I realized we are just going to see more regression Nurses, until people start complaining that Nurse can see auras and make it so only regression perks are viable lol.

And that worries me about the "balance" the Devs want because Peanits said in another post when someone was complaining about no Twins QoL fix was that they didn't do the Twins QoL because Nurse was the most talked about change wanted on the forums.....now if that's the case then the Devs are not Killer or Survivor sided...they are Who Ever Yells the loudest Sided.

So when Nurse players start using Aura builds or Regression builds because they now have a very limited pool of viable perks to use people may start to complain about those until another Nerf is done.... because just as many people were wanting the Blinks to be made Special attacks there were just as many wanting to meet in the middle with keeping 1st blink as basic and all others as Special....so where was the consideration of that idea....

I hear you, but here is a fun fact, when that said streamer post something that supports the survivors case (yes he does that too), then everyone is referring to him, but now he have come out and says that the game is starting to get really unbalanced.

    • And not a claim based on hes opinion, but hes actually backing it up with factual numbers from the game, that everyone can look up at the DBD Wiki But now "we had enough of that streamer" because hes actually posting the factual truth about the games direction...

wow i said facts a lot in that sentance.

He shoots down the argument that "it have never been easyer to be killer" with facts on how the game was in the beginning.

And i dont think anyone that have replied to those videos actually bothered to watch them yet, i have even put in a time code so the video starts when he talks about those facts.

there is was again that strange word.

You do realize I wasn't referring to him when I said Streamer X right? When I said that I was referring to Streamers as a whole and the whole mindset of "Oh they are Streamers we should listen to them"

Another reason why I didn't name him specifically is because he was giving ACTUAL FACTS and not baseless opinions. It's a refreshing change fr all the other posts of people linking videos of Streamers that don't give any facts.....(going back to my post)

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3308730#Comment_3308730

So because you dont care about the streamer him self, he cant have a valid point? if thats the case, why do we even talk on this forum? i dont know anyone here and i dont care for them, does that makes your point of view irrelevant to anyone else??.

See, thats the whole problem with "the majority needs to rule" in a 4 vs. 1 game, the killers will never be the majority.

The majority of the player base are survivors, and the majority of the survivors are both toxic and self entitled (exit gate camping ect.) or demeaning and insulting the killer after the game if they loose. (the insulting part have died a bit down, ill give you that).

But do you think any of that are fun for the killer player? - Yay, i lost, now i need to go and push out the survivors who drag time, just to tbag me when i get there, gee thats fun

Also in the majority of the games i play or watch as streams, at least 1 survivor DC as soon as the game dont go as they want it. Becaseu "i got downed fast, thats not fun" and now they are entitled to leave the game?

What if you went to play a football game, and the other team left if your team scored a goal too fast? you do play football for fun right?

The thing is a lot of people including me are getting tired of people posting the latest video by Streamer X and then take their word as law. All they are stating is their opinions on the issues at hand...yes they can have valid points and I'm not saying they don't but the issue that makes people not to care about what they have to say are those that take those opinions as facts and will use that as their "proof" they are right.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3309117#Comment_3309117

but you have to take to consider they nerfed dh making it pointless to use and ds is a dead perk nobody uses it anymore since the nerf adrenaline only activates in end game, making it a pointless perk. also they have to time dh right with 0.5 seconds before they are hit meaning if u jus lung attack u most likely making them use it to early and its pointless also

DH isn't pointless to use it just takes actual skill and timing to use properly. DS I agree they over nerfed it a bit too much but still can be useful in the correct situations.

But back to what you originally said.....the stacking of Gen Regression Perks isn't the problem it's only a symptom of multiple issues within the game.

•Stacking of Gen Speed Perks along with BNP and Tool Boxes make Gens go way too quickly even with the increase to repair times.

•Map Sizes that make any Killer that dosnt have a travel based power are forced to use the Regression Perks along with sadly 3-Gen locks to even stand a decent chance.

•Most of the Killers just are not suited for map coverage making it difficult to stand a snowballs chance in hell to cause any significant map pressure.

They need to start with Map design and balance them first so that all Killers can cause map pressure.

Then after that they can work on Gen Regression and Gen Speed Perks along with items to make them more balanced so Survivors don't feel like they instantly lost or Killers are feeling like they need to stack Regression Perks to stand a chance.

Then we can look at doing QoL on all Killers that are outdated or need major life support to be made more viable and adjust others to not be so "oppressive" (this is not to start the usual bs about certain killers so let's leave it as we know what I'm talking about)

  • Not really when I finally got my new gaming PC I find it many times better experience playing on it than console.....and I don't have to buy a new console when a new one is realsed just need to upgrade parts. But that's my opinion and everyone has their own opinion on the Console vs PC wars.

Go ahead. This would still benefit the survivors infinitely more. The only gen perk that shows up in an average game is prove thyself anyway.

I have seen more than just Prove in matches...Prove is just a staple of any build outside of meme and or bully builds. I have even used Potential Energy to break a 3 Gen or get that one dangerous 1 man Gen done before the Killer could react.

Once more players realize how to use PE properly then we will see faster Gen Repairs and less 3-Gen issues.

  • @PoosyKhat said:

I think the killer buff was implemented the wrong way... it may be a personal conjecture on my part, but the meta has become more stale for killers than pre-nerf survivor builds.

Here's the thing the Buff was fine what really screwed things up was the meta shakeup. They Nerfed Gen regression perks but didn't touch Gen Speed perks so it forces Killer who want to win to stack Gen slow perks (now I may got it backwards but point still stands). Basic Killers with no travel power will lose Gens so fast because of the Gen Speed Perks which now are stronger than ever with the addition of Potential Energy (as long as a Survivor uses it correctly that is)....

Now if they nerfed the Gen Regression, Slow and Speed perks then we would see a different meta show up....but even I when I last played needed at least one to two Gen Slow Perks to even hold any pressure on the Survivors.

Long story short it's multiple things that stacked up to making the mess we have now...both on Survivors and Killers alike

Since I started playing the game (more than a year ago) the DCs and suicides are way more common now than before

So what changed? Something must have changed, right?

Since the "meta shake up" it has been incredibly easy for killers to tunnel and camp, with almost no counter at all

Make tunnel and camping hard to do, and I swear to you people will DC less

That's not true I Qued up as Spirit and as soon as I got a down (because of Lethal Pursuer) they DCd and then another DCd after when they saw it was a Spirit.....

Players will DC for ANY reason they want to avoid things in the game....I have seen people DC because they were downed first, downed too quickly, being sent to a map they didn't like, DC because it's a killer they didn't want to face etc

Hook Suicide and DCs may be a symptom of deeper issues, but another issue are entitled players in general that think something is OP or Broken because they just don't like it and will leave as soon as it happens

  • @Firellius said:

I don't think you can break up 3-gens without royally screwing up the rest of the game. Gens do need to be close enough together that the killer can reasonably pressure them.

But with the hyper-regression meta, maybe some new perk should be able to very slowly cement progress so it's not an infinite battle of attrition. Or, like someone else suggested: BNPs should be able to cement progress, instead of adding a free crapton of it.

I actually suggested a way to do that before and would change the boring Gen repair

Basically Gens would stop repairs at the 25, 50, and 75 marks. Them Survivors would have to find a a part to continue repairs past that mark. But once the part was put in it can't regress past that mark.

BNPs would be used in place of going out looking for the part.

It's not up to the survivor to leave the locker, their goal is to survive, the killers goal is to kill so the Killer is 100% taking game hostage. Get a clue, you entitled players and this so called Mandy really need to learn basic definitions of gaming terms. Facts are facts, if she's a dev, she as poor as the rest of em when it comes to keeping the game playable. It's dying and it's not cause of the players 100.

Hehe I gotta to say your the first ever forum poster to EVER call me entitled. Obviously from how you have posted that you are trying to say how YOU think the game is supposed to be played and have put you down goals in the place of what the Devs ha e already stated.

The Goal of the Survivors is to repair the Gens and Escape through the powered exit gates or the Hatch if they are lucky enough to find it when they are the last Survivor alive..... Surviving is the outcome of completing said goals.

Mandy is one of the Mods on the forums and is one of many that let's the Devs know what we are saying on the forums as well as ones who clear up misconceptions of rules and issues of the game as Mandy did by saying the scenario that was given is NOT holding the game hostage since the Killer is not forcing the Survivor to stay in the locker and the Survivor can leave and still do thier objective......To Repair the Gens and Escape.

Playing the game as if the other side is your mule is worthy of a ban. It's not about perks, it's about intention.

So let's use your "logic" here.....Then Survivors should be banned too for using Head-On to bully the Killer or all bully Squads and players who make the Killer into their plaything should be banned as well......

You just want to punish players for playing the game just because the Killer had a build you didn't like isn't proof that they were deliberately playing to ruin YOUR "fun"

I'm not dumb. He was playing Wraith to get an easy first hit. He also had Deerstalker and Sloppy (everything for me, nothing for you). It's not hard to play Killer like this, especially against Solos.

To add, he was anonymous (no characters in his name). There's a reason for it.

He was anonymous mode because probably was a streamer and didn't want to get stream bombed by sore losers. BHVR did that mode for a reason.

Really Sloppy isn't that bad of a perk...and Deer Stalker....really your complaining about that perk?

  • Play Killer then.....see what I did there.

You say play Survivor like it's supposed to fix anything or say see how it is for the other side. If you ment it like that I'm ok with so I say play Killer then and see how UB basekit would make some Killers and situations worse or even to support slug camping.

You do realize that you're not in the majority who understands the purpose of the game...IT IS NOT to kill every survivor as fast as possible. IT IS to get as many points as possible. Camping and tunneling make you lose points while max points can be easily obtained with just 8 hooks....don't even need a kill. Until players learn the real goal of DBD, they should have no say in strategies or anything cause they are 100% making up their own rules. Hell all 4 survivors can get max points without doing a single gen. It's sad how the community makes up their own rules to the game to make them selves feel righteous or whatever.

You do realize who Mandy is right and how foolish you sound ATM.....

  • @JohnnyB87 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3299266#Comment_3299266

But as was said....the killer is preventing the survivor from playing the game normally for their part. It's a double edged sword...killer mains don't see it, but survivors mains do. Killer is doing his job but preventing survivor from doing theirs. Just fact, no bias as I main both. And to prove the point, a killer doesn't even need a kill to get max points, which is the ONLY goal of DBD. There are no other end game goals...that's also a fact.

But still it's not a hostage situation....the Survivor can just leave the locker of their own free will. Mandy has already answered this situation is not under the Hostage taking rules.

This whole situation is a battle of who has the most patience

What killers are much more difficult to learn? Im definetly interested. Huntress requires a lot of skill to master, that I can agree with. Then theres killers that require strategy. Blight, Deathslinger, sure. Billy also perhaps. But definetly easier to play than Nurse.

Nurse isn't that hard to learn once you get the muscle memory down. That muscle memory is what takes folks longer or shorter to learn her.....now it's not 3 days like they said but again it doesn't take that long.

Billy takes the most skills to use his power effectively. His power has much more issues when a player makes a mistake. (Play Oni to get down Billy's dash since Oni dosnt cancel out his power when he clips a object)

Blight takes a little more skill to learn how to do his charge and bounce where you want to. Again a Blight is punished more when they make a mistake.

Those two Killers alone take more time and skills to master their power.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3300649#Comment_3300649

And yet, Blight can also compete with the best Survivors.

In our opinion, there's no excuse for her to not be nerfed down to Blight's level. And even he needs some add-on adjustment, Compound Thirty-Three and Alchemist's Ring are FAR too powerful for a Killer like Blight to have access to.

Oh I don't deny that just Blight is a lot easier to handle than Nurse both to play as and to play against.

But yes both definitely need a Addon rework for sure. If we want Nurse brought into a manageable level we as a community need to stop all these Nurse hate/demand Nerf threads and come up with agreeable adjustments and not total Freddy Nerfs or outright denial that something needs to be changed on her.

In all the threads about Nurse I have seen so many defend that there's nothing wrong with her and other who just want to make her practically useless.

I genuinely do not know why BHVR hasn't done anything about Nurse.

She's been the strongest Killer for, essentially, the game's entire lifespan and it still isn't really close.

Tbh I think it's a combination of her general "stats" being low and that at Higher MMR she can go toe to toe with the best Survivors....now that's no excuse but until a day other Killers can be powered up to be close to her level them sadly we need Nurse.

Reworking her is a no go as many Mods have said in the past and I agree....spending time changing her power to something else getting it tested.....adjusted and tested again, they could be fixing the bigger issues like Maps etc.

But that's my opinion and really there is no right answer to this Tennis match called Nurse Nerf....

I would love a ranked mode in DbD. It would actually make me play the game again on a regular basis.

I don't really see too many downsides to adding it. The unranked queue more or less stays the same as it is, and some of the sweat moves over to ranked.

Queue times might be funky at first, but a lot of people don't play DbD *because* there isn't a ranked ladder. The game could grow from it. Plus the devs can get better balance data from ranked. Tighter matchmaking and people playing to win. There could be some real positives to come from it.

From what I saw Mandy said they probably won't do that because it would split the playerbase more causing longer Que times. Personally it won't change much because you'll still have "Rankers" playing unranked just to stomp on players who are not into ranked play

Hatch is just an annoying and outdated feature at this point. Just have endgame activate and power gates instead of a boring hide and seek. Not to mention that unless you find it first (which is basically entirely determined by chance) you arent getting that kill. Cant imagine how veterans feel with how hatch standoffs were....

Hatch rewards survivors for failing their objectives and punishes you for succeeding yours. A 4k is practically never guaranteed, but if the killer worked for it at least let there be a fighting chance. A fighting chance, not a "lemme walk around and hope I get to it first" chance. I get it, its unreasonable for the last surv to do the last gens and escape, so just power gates and give the surv some advantage where you dont automatically lose once in chase. Anything but hatch. Im so sick of all my amazing games ending a 4 gen 3k when I know I worked so much harder than that last survivor for my win. while i consider a 2-3k a win, it'd be nice if we could all stop being bullshitted by hatch at this point.

Hmmm where to start......oh yea..... ahem.

The hatch is considered a PITTY escape and dosnt affect their MMR in either a positive or negative way.

The hatch isn't outdated it's a way for the match to end without either side to hold the game hostage. Either the Survivor finds the hatch and the game ends or the Killer finds it and starts the EGC and end the game via sacrifice or escape through doors.
