Neither need reworks. Actual rework, that is. Like what Freddy already got.

No Freddy got gutted and needs buffs

This is what my SWF does. Anytime we don’t, it’s either a lobby dodge, or Sweat / mori every game.

They are dodging because they suspect your in a SWF. Prestige ≠ Skill. Prestige = Time Played.

I had a prestige 80 Survivor that was a total potato while a Prestige 8 Survivor with the skills to pay the bills.

I mean they could've given survivors some decent new perks like they did for killers and actually focused on what we want like stopping tunnelling and camping rather than removing our options to prevent them then it would've been less suffering for survivors as well, so far it's only survivor side suffering with the kill rates to show for it...

Survivors do have decent perks the last two chapters gave perks that only increase the Gen Rush meta along with some decent info perks.

BHVR themselves have said that Camping and Tunneling are valid strats and they don't want to completely remove or punish players who use them correctly vs those who do them incorrectly or at the wrong time.

Tunneling is good when you want to get rid of that one Survivor that could be the "clutch" player of the group or to make things more manageable depending on the Killer they are playing.

Camping or the Pseudo Camping I should say allow for good Pressure while keeping a eye on other Gens in the patrol area......and at End Game that's all that's left for Killers is to catch and camp that one player hoping for the others to make a mistake on the final rescue.

Them grabbing the banner is usually your own fault, since they usually have to run back to where the banner was placed and its pretty easy to zone them away from that (especially Assassin)

Carnifex takes twice as long to place down his banner, so even if they do end up grabbing it thats still quite a bit of time they could of spent on gens that they instead ran away, ran back to the banner, and then finally run back to the gen

No it's not easy to zone even with assassin....I have NEVER been touched by a guard unless it was on purpose to protect another survivor. His power is too easily read, players are able to see the patrol range so they know if they are safe or not, grabbing the flag is quite easy and it despawns the guards anyway so all that pressure is gone in a instant.

He does need some help to get away from the current way players are using him which obviously not the way he should be played.

    I stand by my point.

No these are the DBD forums your not allowed to have a point because that would be logical and understanding......where do you think we are here...some discussion forums where we should be discussing our differences and try to make a understanding of each role and how we can better the game for all.....pffffft silly.

Can someone tell me how to survive against the doctor?

I've played at least 20 games against him and lost every single one. Only killer that I can say this about.

Nothing works against him, he has incapacitate on demand.

    I need some solid advice.

I do not play in a SWF.

Looping does not work against him.

He's not "just an M1 killer", telling me that isn't going to help me here.

Does any one have any video evidence that goes into depth about this maybe? I can't find a single helpful video on this particular killer. Others yes. Not doctor.

I don't need to watch some guy doing a bunch of tech spins on a doctor playing on controller, that doesn't help. I mean real tactics and advice.

The only people I seem to encounter playing doctor know how to play him well so these kinds of cheap YT video reel tactics don't actually work in a real game.

Hate to tell you Doc isn't that bad of a Killer unless they are a King and Queen Doc and even then it's all about management of your madness.

You can easily loop him just remember if he's charging up a shock wait before throwing a pallet....since he can stun you for roughly 2 secs keeping you from performing a action. He is also just a M1 Killer since his power can't actually damage you.

Once you hit T3 Madness you need to get out of is asap or you will keep screaming.....and once mad don't crouch for too long because Doc can see the phantom Docs from anywhere on the map same with fake pallets since they only will spawn around Survivors with madness

For more disapointing than it can be, I feel the only solution is to give survivors/killers more information on what they gonna face, if I don't like billy doesnt matter how the match goes, I just don't want to face him, giving me this information before I get into the match, can lead to better matches, because you only will face people that are willing to play that match. Ofc this idea has it's own problems.

I got a laggy lobby with a cenobite forcing lerys (this map is bugged, and some cenobites players force it to abuse the bug), sorry I'm not gonna face 200ms, with 3 randoms, it's just no worth the stress.

Only reason why they won't give that kind of info is because everyone would say not want to face Spirit then anyone playing Spirit would never find a match and be punished for playing Spirit

  • @NewPlayer100102 said:

Increasing DC penalty is not the way to go. You can't force someone to play a game well. You can try to force them to stay at the screen, but all you'll do is generate resentment, and this is dumb for a service provider to do to a guest.

Also, when the DC penalty reaches any intolerable number, the player will go find a new game. That is a bad thing to do to your customers, because it will cost you money. Only SWF groups would put up with it, and few of those DC for trivial reasons.

I think they should make all the survivor map awareness perks base kit, with reduced durations and intermittent activation so new people can learn the maps and key spawns faster, But something will still need to be done incentive wise to motivate survivors to work as a team early in their careers. None of this addresses the underlying issue, which I think is survivors should expect to lose the match, they should be rewarded for entertaining the entity, they should have fun doing that, winning via an escape should be rare and unexpected.

All online games have some sort of DC or Quiter penelties. People DC for all sort of stupid reasons during a match and they only hurt the the rest of the Survivors when they rage quit. The penelties should be stricter so player won't want to DC to avoid them. Let's look at every time BHVR removed the penelties for some reason or another and the amount of DCs skyrocket making the game very unplayable.

It wouldn't be a nerf to killers if after a specific length of time, the survivor could phase through the killer though. We're not talking seconds here, which is what happens in a regular game.

I used to do it for a few secs to scare them but let them go with a nod and move to find someone else.... mainly not to hold them for longer than 30 sec let th go and go in the opposite direction.....those who hold hostage has a special place in MMR Hell

Wasting someones time just so you can greed a 4th kill is morally wrong. Your 4th kill is not worth that slugged persons time. Just hook them and send them to their next game.

I have been held hostage, I had a infinite myers slug me until I was close to death and then carry me absolutely refusing to hook me. I wiggle off and he just rinses and repeats not letting me leave the game. That game went on almost 30 minutes like that. That is being held hostage.

I agree. With a change to Eruption a 3 gen would be a lot more beatable. It can still be hard and a lot of people hate it but, realistically, a large part of the Killer roster has mobility issues, are okay but not great at chase and rely on defending a small area in order to win if they aren't going to hard tunnel and camp and a 3 gen, Eruption notwithstanding, can be beaten. And, in the majority of 3 gens, it was the survivors who did it to themselves.

It's just that incapacitated status needs to change. You can't really hit different gens to pull the Killer off if the Erupting Call Of Overcharge means all 3 gens are regressing uncontested since nobody can tap and if you don't press a close 3 gen hard enough someone will get downed the Killer might be able to pull off a 3 gen with no or only one gen regression perk.

CoB isn't any worse than Pop and Overcharge is fine but when combined with current Eruption that's too much...that's why they should remove the incapacitated effect for something else like a Killer Instinct for 20sec or something like that.

But hey those of use with reasonable thinking are the minority on the forums tbh.

  • @kisfenkin said:

I think you are the one that missed the point. You are afraid of the fee. That's the point of the fee! You don't want to incur the fee, so don't tunnel. Don't camp, or return to the hook, and you are unlikely to even see the unhooked survivor again until you have downed and hooked someone else or their tunnel timer has run out.

You did make me think of something else though. In the case of only two survivors left the punishment would have to be shut off as well. Don't want this idea to force killers to slug in the two survivor situation.

That's the thing your punishing all forms of Camping and Tunneling regardless of it being done as a normal strategy or as a Toxic play. You say that in End Game but that's not the only time it's valid and ok to camp and tunnel.

BHVR has said they are valid strats and they don't want to do anything that would punish those who use them correctly along with those who use them in "toxic" ways.

It was a build (and set-up) stacked specifically to bust a 3 gen but I came in with PE, Hyperfocus, Stakeout, a Commodious and a BNP. Just as soon as a survivor was picked up I started a gen in the three gen from zero and, while I didn't time it, it was roughly 25 seconds to finish the gen from start to finish by myself. If you hit both skill checks on the BNP I think it's a maximum of 34 to 35 seconds to do a gen with PE and a BNP (((32÷1.5)+13)=34.33). That's 45 charges right there with 20 from Potential Energy and another 25 from BNP.

I brought it specifically for when I was doing Outbreak:Breakout since I grew tired of my teammates doing the gens on the outside and the Killer either being smart enough to patrol the 3 gen set-up in the lobby or my teammates three genning us the majority of the time.

Definitely risky, item intensive, requires a lot of set-up, Franklin's hurts bad and you only have one shot at it but it's very good at busting a three gen.

I understand why people hate getting 3-Gen but even if the Killer decides early to protect it or Survivors make the mistake a 3-Gen is beatable.

Now I do hate Eruption but what I hate is the status effect they either need to remove it for another effect or cut the time in half so it's not as bad. By changing that little bit, it will make that combo not as potent.

The problem is that this is a fringe scenario - and most 3gen situations are a hell of the survivors' own making. I don't want to see perks nerfed because of some poopers taking games hostage - there has to be a more elegant solution. It's also not like Boil Over, where one perk could be gutted to remove the problem. Eruption makes this easier, but I'm sure you could accomplish something similar with other perks.

The only counter I can imagine is a 4man with PE, but you'd have to go in knowing what to expect. Which isn't realistic.

PE can definitely break a 3-Gen IF the survivor KNOWS how to use it. I personally used it to break a 3-gen with another survivor with prove thy. It also is great to bypass Tinkerer

Look at the game Hens played. He didn't refuse to kill anyone.

Stalling is not letting the game progress. If you actively go for chases and actually injure people and then rush back to generators - that's not stalling.

"there is 0 difference between a Doctor keeping everyone in Madness 3 without any attempt of downing them"

Using the Hens game as an example. He was getting downs and hits. He was not refusing to attack - which would be stalling.

Sometimes you can't injure someone but if they are trying to lead you away from the last three gens and part of their objective is to protect gens from getting repaired yea they will go back and not commit to a chase that will probably net them no hooks or Kills and a lost Gen.

As I stated above I held onto a 3Gen for 75mins before I Killed all survivors.....I used old Overcharge to keep them from Gen tapping but nothing else.....I never got in trouble for "Holding the Game Hostage"

To reiterate, I have no issue if survivors organically 3 gen themselves or stupidly don't split gens on obvious 3 gen maps like Azarov's or Suffocation Pit etc. However as you probably realise, that is not what this strat involves.

If survivors are stupid enough to 3 gen themselves then so be it, my solo team mates do it all the time and I am often the poor sucker who goes for the riskier middle gen early on to avoid this. But a killer using their power and broken perks to camp a 3 gen from the start of the match is broken. There should never be a single strat that creats an unwinnable scenario

You missed the point inwas making it's not a unwinnable strat just a very difficult strat to break if the Survivors don't realize it before the trap is sprung.

I have broken 3-Gen locks with fellow Survivors...it's not easy I will grant you that because if just one person makes a mistake then it's all over.....but it does takes at least 2 players to help break it.

A Basement Bubba match is unfun, but over in 10 minutes, so that hardly compares, but congratulations for dodging the point.

It is bannable for two survivors to hide without progressing the gens and a Doc Player could be banned if they refused to chase and just kept survs in tier 3, unnable to progress the game, so BHVR has made it clear in the past, that there is a point at which they consider dragging a game out to be bad, so I don't see why the dragging out strategy the Knight in the Video used should stay unadressed.

Because the difference in the Doc refusing to chase to keep everyone in t3 or Survivors hiding not doing Gens and what the Knight is doing or any Killer who has a 3-Gen lock is that defending Gens is part of their objective. They can't punish a player who won't take the bait and be dragged away into a dead zone by a Survivor knowing there are other Survivors waiting to pounce.

It's a sad truth so the only recourse is to look at the strategy of the perk combos in question....the easiest to help break it is to remove the status effect from Eruption. That would actually help out a lot tbh and make CoB and Overcharge manageable.

  • I once had a match as Vommy Mommy and the Survivors made the 3 Gen mistake quite early and I defended it....I would chase them off but when I saw they were trying to lead me to a Dead Zone I went right back. I won't go into a mindless chase when I know there's 2-3 other survivors waiting for me to leave......

.....This was before they lowered the max match time and the match lasted 75 mins.....this was also before the meta shake up and I only used 1 Gen slowdown perk.

Yes the 3-Gen is a strong strat but not unbeatable. The mistake those survivors did was they only work d on any of the gens as a single person and never split it up or doubled up do I could easily hold them off.

Deja Vu + Potential Energy is the counter to 3 gens.

Sadly, most people that use it, use it on the same gen they are working on. Instead of using it to prevent a 3 gen.

I hope a big streamer picks it up and people start to use it correctly.

I love how so many call PE a horrible sabotage perk because either they don't know how to use it or have seen so many players use it at the wrong time or use it wrong.

  • @Tsulan said:

Hey, maybe if enough killers play like this, Deja Vu + Potential Energy becomes meta.

Hey potential energy is good if you know when and how to use it.....I have used it to get those dangerous one person gens done quickly, avoided Tinker with it, and help break a 3-Gen with it....just have to know when to build it up or when to not. Most use it wrong and hinder thier team.....

  • @ByeByeQ said:

When you see crap like this how can anyone argue that the new meta is better than the old meta.

This just didn't happen with Pop, Ruin & Undying. It wasn't possible because eventually the totems get cleansed and the killer had to get hooks to be able to Pop.

Now with Overcharge, Call of Brine and Eruption it's a very plausible strategy for many killers to hard camp a tight 3 gen and make it nigh-impossible for the survivors to win in any sort of timely fashion.

Knight, Nemesis, Doctor and Legion just to name a few all seem like extremely good candidates for this strategy.

What makes eruption unhealthy isn't the regression but the status effect that is put on Survivors and with no viable warning when a survivor will go down unless on Coms that unable to do ANYTHING is a major hindrance. I would be happy if they just removed that status effect and added basic information for the killer like was a survivor on that Gen or something minor.

Overcharge is a good perk and can be a big issue if left alone but the Skill Check isn't that hard and it prevents Gen tapping strats.

Call of Brine I haven't seen or used that much because I can't stand how weak Sadoko is unless I use a very boring and hated strategy....

Overall I think Eruption needs minor Tweeks but they also need to look at Gen Speed Meta of Survivors and why that combo of Killer Perks is being used so much.

Also......Doc really lol he is my Meme Killer since he is basically a charged up M1.....but I do say a King and Queen Doc is really fun to play.

Survivors are not under a time crunch? That's quite a hot take. A couple missteps and the survivors can easily be the ones on the bad end of time crunches in DBD.

I would say post perk shakeup I see more variety than ever. Still plenty of meta slaves but also a pretty good amount of unique builds.

I also don't think killers are pigeonholed into builds like you will claim here. An early slowdown or two is more than sufficient on killers with a strong chase power. Pretty much any build is 2k worthy, which is a viable build

But they are not on a time crunch they and stop plan out their next move or while Survivor A is being chased Survivors B,C, and D are cranking out Gens so if A is a good looper then 2-3 can get done

They added 10 seconds to every generator last summer. Unless you're talking about Hyperfocus and Overzealous. In that case, try them out in a few matches and see how much they actually do.

I have and seen it in use in my Survivor matches you forgot to add Prove Thyself as well that 10 secs means nothing when you stack everything to speed through gens.....

Hyperfocus is a bad perk if your a player who can't hit skill checks....but there others probably like me...I can hit roughly 60-65% of greats as long as Huntress Lullaby or Doc isn't affecting it

This is also the devs fault:

    • creating gen-free zones on 25%+ map area (Hello Dead Dawg Salon, Pale Rose, ...) automatically leading to cluster of 3 or even 4 very close gens from the start of the game
    • creating I-shape like maps (Hello Azarov, Suffocation, ...) automatically leading to cluster of 3 or even 4 very close gens from the start of the game. Fun facts: I got an Azarov RNG variation with 5 gens on the main building side, 0 in middle and 2 on the shack side!!!
    • creating gen regression perks, with huge synergy, low activation requirements (just kicking a gen) and with poor counterplay (Hello stupid Eruption perk)

They need to address these issues and fix them more quickly (not after 2+ years as they tend to do)

But then the same can be said about Survivors....Purple Toolboxes, BNP, all the Gen speed perks that synergize perfectly, the Gen Rush squads trying to get out of the match as fast as possible.....

The Devs changed all the Gen slowdown perks but never touched Survivors Gen speed perks and then added new ones to their arsenal.....

    ??? This killer is a 4k machine

Look at that detection radius, it's insane. Into a 16 second chase

Anytime a survivor goes to an isolated tile it's been a free hit or they are forced to leave. Even shack hasn't been safe

Don't understand how people think this killer is bad, he can also instadown if you wait for the guard to hit someone before you do too

He is bad and that picture shows all the reasons why he's bad.....every Knight I have seen has got only 1 Kill.... Survivors can easily avoid the guards because they can see the detection radius and they can see the green orb as it flys around so they just leave the area immediately.

  • @behaviourmakesmesad said:

You can camp with every killer. In my opinion, healthy survivors should not get grabbed so killers are not rewarded for literally facecamping. I am replying to this just after another depressing match. It was legion and after first chase wich was pretty short he just standed infront of hook.

2 survivors went for save after 40 sec. Unfortunatly he was able to grab one and the second one went down during unhook.

To wrap it quickly, grabbed survivor DCed and downed survivor immidiatly killed himself on hook. Only me and 1st downed survivor left.

I went down, was hooked and legion proceed by staring at me on hook from very close range.

WHY WHY WHY? 4 gens left and he proceed to facecamp me. In the end we ended up with 3k-8k points. Managed to do 1 and half gen. Killer had 25k points.

I think its extremly unhealthy mechanic grabbing healthy survivors during unhooking animation. Killers should just take the trade 1 for 1 if he wants to camp.

I'm glad that isn't the case because then there would be no defense to stop a unhooking, especially if it's a Hook Rush tactic. I have gotten a few hook grabs from greedy Survivors that wanted to unhook while I was chasing them.

Also that would give a major advantage to Survivors at end game where the only option left for Killers is to camp the Survivor they hooked.

No you don't? Her base power is already so strong that she can keep up the pace of full meta survivors and does not need Starstruck or Jolt. Not to mention that she can still use a lot of perks.

Yes you do her base power is strong yes but it makes up for her slow speed hence why her blinks are basic attacks. If you change her blinks all to be special then a speed boost must be given so she can get basic attacks in.

  • @FMG15 said:

Yes. Her power is strong enough already but the fact that it synergizes with so many perks is problematic to the point where she needs a nerf. Block all aura reading while using her power and make her blink attacks special attacks. Also nerf her range addons

If you make her blink attack specials then they would have to increase her base movement speed since she is SLOWER than Survivors.

The reason why her power is the way it is currently is because of how slow she is. Without her blinks she would never be able to land a hit or even catch a Survivor.

Place traps near Gens where Survivors won't see them and then enjoy the show when you scare them half to death

I vote for the removal of Incapacitated entirely. Scrap it. It's not a fun mechanic. It's frustrating, annoying, etc.

It's still a fine perk at 10% regression per gen with unlimited range. 10%+Incapacitated+all the other slowdowns is insane. A good player doesn't need that much slowdown to win. It's ok if players lose to better players.

They do when they nerfed the slowdowns but never touched Gen speed perks and then added more perks that synergize with the speed up perks. I hate multiple slowdowns as much as the next player but there's a big difference between a Killer that dosnt run them on how fast gens fly

  • Well that's one step in the right direction for his QoL

I think this buff gave some Survs major confidence boosts thinking they’re all professional blinders now and they’re still not. I’ve had a few matches now where I’m being picked up and survs run up to flashlight save and they point at the killers back and side. Lmao I just wanna tell them “you know it doesn’t work like that right?” 🤣🤣🤣

Well I think the issue is how inconsistent the defense against flashlights are if the Killer dosnt have Franklin's or Lightborn. I have been blinded from behind a wall of Killer shack or from 180° angle before.

Survivors would have to time the blind right during a pickup to get a blind but now they can do it mid pickup and still get it

This buff definitely helps new players get saves but for those who could do the timing right it made it a never miss blind and that's what got players upset.

Sorry Mandy, but he isn't wrong. This is a very good reason to amend a review. The game is constantly changing, it's not the same game it was 6 years ago and the reviews should reflect that.

You absolutely are removing existing cosmetics from the game, whether you plan to bring them back next year or not is irrelevant.

They are NOT removing them from the game they are just leaving until NEXT YEAR. Like any other game that has SEASONAL cosmetics.

Okay, sorry, I'm clearly not in the right mind because I'm definitely angry. Bhvr won't give you any choice or sense of complacent. I'm just mad that you won't even know if the hacker got banned. But..... Forum rules. Why it applies to hacker. Why? It's hard to find a reasonable explanation, but there's nothing. I'm really mad you know? Knowing the game that you invested with time and money is hacker friendly. I just bought the game on nov, bought dlc and rift. It was the first multiplayer game that I enjoyed since I always play single player.

I get it and there's nothing wrong with venting I just didn't want you to get in trouble with a Mod. I made a similar mistake and vented but broke forum rules and got dinged by a Mod (that's all I'm saying of that so don't ask lol)

You know I just went here to vent out my frustration. And here I am talking to some judge. I've already removed the link. Not going to remove spaghetti tho. They're country is known to home of cheaters because they always want to become namba wan. You know I'm here just to ease my frustration to know if someone is having the same issue as I am. Instead I'm getting bamboozled by forum rules for hackers. Adding insult to injury.

Venting is one thing but making fun of another race and breaking forum rules is another

There's already a video... Are we on a court room or something? Are we really supporting hackers here?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3288651#Comment_3288651

At least on some games you'll know when they got remove while playing the game.

No we are supporting the forum rules. Also I might remove that comment about thier name being Spaghetti....that sounds like your making fun of their native language.

Shaming and naming rule? For the hackers? Are you kidding me? The name of the hacker is spaghetti so they(the viewers) won't know. No offense but why? And no, I'm not reporting here. I'm just venting out. Why they can't make an anti cheat system like Valorant, the game is 6 yrs old. What do you mean by resolve? Resolve for what? What is resolved they emailed me that they won't tell me the outcome. Promised on improve feedback... Man why is it hard to tell if the hacker got banned or what. Sorry if I'm coming rude to you but this really frustrates me.

Naming and Shaming rule applies to everyone even possible hackers.

Unless you have daming proof or them specifically saying "I'm using hacks" they are innocent until proven guilty.

  • They just don't, other games don't say anything either if you report someone.

  • Because they don't discuss punishment of other players to anyone

No info about knight and no info about FOMO. None whatsoever. Why are they so quiet?

One with FOMO they don't need to make a statement about it they organized the seasonal cosmetics and once the season is over they go away until next year ...

As for Knight Mandy has already stated in other threads that they are giving players time to adjust to him but they still will do Twins or Sadoko before him in the buffing or QoL changes

Potential Energy is kinda situational in some aspect. It can help counter 3 gen situations, as long as you keep your charges. It can counter Merciless Storm (If you save enough charges). It can help you get a head start on a gen. Those are basically it's only uses.

It can also counter Tinkerer....if you remair the Gen to just before Tinkerer goes off and then dump all your charges into it then unless the Killer is right near where your at they won't be able to get to you before you finish the Gen.
