I disagree with you. The entire experience, especially playing solo feels unrewarding. Now that killers have been buffed it feels like good plays are less rewarded by the game mechanics. It also feels like survivors are getting overly punished for the mistakes of their teammates.

I am not endorsing disconnecting, but I understand why people are doing it.

Here's the thing.... NOTHING justifies DCing or Suicide on first hook and ruining the game for others. All weekend I tried out SoloQ to see if all the crying and whining was about. I found out yes SoloQ is alot harder but not a unwinnable goal not by a long shot.

The issue I saw was I was the only one doing Gens in most of the games I played, I was able to get 3 gens done on average by myself with Thanta going on, I did not face a single Vommy Mommy and only 3 Legion's (with Thanta), and the biggest issues I saw was no one healed vs any Killer with Thanta and most were running around not trying to do Gens....most were SEEKING the Killer.

Hardly anyone ran Gen Speed up perks to help handle Thanta better.

It's Survivor mentality as a whole causing the major issues. Every game also had at least 1 DC or Hook Suicide.

So in short I don't see any reason to be doing the things that's happening or understand it. If they would just stop being childish and even focus even 50% trying to play the game and not oh it's not fun I'm just going to throw, the games would be much better.

  • @Pulsar said:

There is zero way people are that coordinated.

It's a joke that ANYONE believes that the entire Survivor population is somehow DC'ing en masse to blackmail BHVR into reverting the patch.

    Actual clownery.

I agree with you Pulsar but you have to admit the suicide hooks and DCs are getting problematic. I do think some of them are doing it to inflate kill rates like with Spirit, remember just before her Nerf alot of players were reporting that survivors were dying on first hooks.

Now mind you that's all speculation and no real proof that it happened to cause her Nerf or it was just a coincidence.

Even if all this is random acts of baby-ism it still will affect kill rates (minus the DCs since those are not tallied in kill rates)

All that being said....I think alot of survivors are overreacting a tad bit. Yes I agree the DS stun of 3 secs was much I would just be happy it not activate after doors are powered like it is now.

The Gen times are not as bad as people say I was able to do 3 gens by myself with Thanta slowing us down. The issue I saw was in most cases no one healed and most games was NOT against a Vommy Mommy or Legion. If I didn't care more about my teammates getting healed I probably would of got all gens repaired....but not escape because of them refusing to heal. In some of those matches it was against Oni.....

I would like to see that if she did. I'm genuinely wondering if it's considered cheating or not.

I tried searching but there are 715 pages about VPNs and brain is shutting down after I got home from a 9 hr nightshift lmao. But I want to say it was something along the lines of it was a approved thing to use but I just can't remember or not.

I want to understand how would they abuse it. So far what I heard is that survivors would deliberately loop around the hook.

I want to know if this is really such a big issue, and if yes, why can't we easily fix it by an additional "killer is not in a chase" condition.

Because it would punish players that are using camping in the proper non toxic way like having the hooked survivor in the middle of a 3 Gen area and able to keep a eye on the gens and keep the survivor on hook. I do like your idea of not in chase or if another survivor is within the hook area as well.

We need a way to punish the Toxic campers and not the valid non toxic campers.

  • All his Nerf did was force me to use the silent bell addon and I don't like using it because it makes him too easy to play.but now with the Spine Chill Buff....most stealth killers have been severely hindered

  • @Yords said:

All the more reason to nuke that god forsaken map. It is so unbelievably bad that it makes old new haddonfield seem like heaven. At least on pre nerfed haddonfield there was a game. On RPD its just run around in a maze and sometimes run into the killer.

Try getting stuck there as Blight, Billy, or Oni....that's a nightmare for sure....about any stealth killer or Demo is strong on that map.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

    That's a good question.

I would even argue that Clown bug is less OP than Oni 2-3x more orbs aka way more faster ability charge.

Clown's Bug was worse because it constantly was on once achieved. Oni's bug is only connected to rushed vaults so his isn't as bad tbh. Most survivors ATM avoid rushed vaults if they are injured to avoid the extra orbs

  • I love my Big Daddy Oni, I have started learning his "flicks" and that's fun, but maps are some of his biggest obstacles because of small pixels that can stop your dash or getting caught in a corner mid dash can get annoying

Simple fix: the cage choses the one position where no one is around: 1 in the cage, 1 chased near the cage, and the other 2 in separate corners to wait for the cage to show up - > 1 free corner

Hmmm or TPs to area where there is no players x meters around. That could be a workable fix. As to your other response (phone is acting up and I can't link another response)...Yea that could be true but then the Killer could abuse it by not hitting the chased survivor letting the hook timer keep burning...but I like that idea regardless. At least that's a different suggestion than "How can it be abused". When ever someone suggest the slowing/freezing of the timer....

Even with a 18% playerbase drop in as little as 2 weeks and killer queue times taking as long as 5-10 minutes during active hours, idiots will still think this game isn't on an extreme decline. The sheer amount of either idiocy or ignorance is just comical at this point. Just wait until fall and all the kids are back in school... it's gonna be one hell of a comedy watching the damage truly show.

But you purposely leave out data and information that makes your argument invalid and just doing so makes your argument invalid because your trying to sway people to your idea with false information.

So sadly anything your try to argue past this point will not be taken seriously because of the misinformation.

Have fun with no one taking you seriously.

  • They will NOT fix her face until I get my Pyramid Head in Hot Pants! His butt deserves the recognition it deserves with excellent cosmetics

  • I wish I did a screen shot of this but couldn't get it off before the Survivor escaped through the hatch but on Coldwind I downed the last survivor so I decided to be nice and carry them to the hatch. When I found the hatch it was spawned between the double trouble Hook duo.....The dark side was so compelling but the survivor panicked and wiggled off and ran faster than the blight on a suger rush

The giant surge of hackers as of late is ######### painful. I've had so many games now with hackers on both Killer and Survivor.

Please remove the DC penalty again until you have this under some control. Maybe finally switch from your peer-to-peer hacked onto dedicated servers model to actual dedicated servers.

You must be extremely high MMR then because I have yet to face a hacker. Maybe subtle hacking but nohing I could pin point.

I played all last weekend and some right after patch hit and some yesterday... besides the suicides and DCs nothing out of the ordinary.

Oop no, I think you might be referring to Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage. Call of brine is the onryo perk that makes it so when you kick a gen, it regresses at 200% of the normal regression speed, and notifies you when a survivor is on it when they hit a good skill check.

Oh yes that's right I have her but she's a bit dusty because of how weak her base kit is lol. But that's a pretty nasty build but it looks like it's worse on the final gen.

  • @neb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3100904#Comment_3100904

I think they were going for a "I kick this gen and it gets destroyed" type of build.

Ahhh makes sense but that also requires some set up too because Call of Brine is a scourge perk right?

I've seen some people do Pop + CoB + Overcharge + Eruption

Really those synergize...I have to look at their descriptions again I didn't think they would tbh....and I forgot about Eruption because I don't have Nemi lmao

  • @Sweet_Potato said:

Many killer mains claim survivors can't play without old DH, so they just need to learn how to loop properly (especally against Nurses and half the other killers with a build-in anti looping capability).

But to be honest, if you take a look on popular and skilled dbd killer streamers, they never had a problem with achieving a 4 k (or 3k + hatch escpae) in 90% of their matches before this update.

So why is there such a huge skill issue within the killer base, that apperently many killers can't win games without 125% movement speed after 25 seconds, forever-gens-builds and buffed camping and tunneling strategies?

The thing is you can't compare a streamer who plays the game as their Job in a sense and has well over double or triple hours into the game than your average DbD gamer. That's what annoys me when people link Otz or another streamer playing as a Killer and use it as proof of stuff.

I know I don't have the skills like Otz so I'll lose many Killer matches and win many too.

  • @neb said:

adapt to what, these buffs? yeah, I adapted fairly easily by barely running any slowdown, and switching it up with chase/aura reading perks.

I think the people running triple/quadruple slowdown know what they're doing.

If someone is running 4 slowdowns then they are a idiot because they are not getting full use of them because most of the slowdowns don't synergize with each other anymore.

Ruin can't be used with any other slowdown perks because of the nature of it.

Pain Res and DMS combo is gone and Pain Res dosnt show where the Gen is anymore.

Yes Thanta can be a issue but it has a easy fix....heal. Even if your facing a Plague or Legion survivors do it to themselves allowing Thanta to get so out of hand.

I don't know about Overcharge and Pop if they combo but I highly doubt they do tbh.

  • @Zexbunny said:

Lol let's not act like some killers aren't absolutely the type to want to make survivors miserable. Just look at some streamers who play (I won't name them obviously. That's naming and shaming)

The ones that aren't are already adjusted. Had a decent match against a bubba who had one slowdown perk. He facecamped me for a bit, but I had run him quite a bit, and he eventually gave up on it. I died in the end. He got a 3k. But the match wasn't miserable like the match I had against a Demogorgon who had eruption, call of brine and overcharge and put portals on each of his gens. He got a 4k, but mostly because my teammates gave up after about 10 minutes.

Let's not act like all Survivors are angels either. Some just go into a match to bully the Killer until they DC or just quits.

There's two sides of every coin and we can't just focus on one side.

I also doubt all the people saying every game they are getting tunneled and/or camped. Some survivors claim camping and tunneling when sometimes it's not.

For example I hooked a survivor and was looking around with BBQ and started to walk off. I wasn't even 5 steps away when I saw a survivor running for the rescue, I gave chase and intercepted them. They looped me around the hooked survivor until they died before I downed them (It was a nasty jungle gym). At end game chat I was accused of camping the hook by 3 survivors, I told them I wasn't even away from the hook before they tried the rescue and they wouldn't lead the chase away from the hooked survivor.....they told me I should of gave them the rescue and stop camping....

Sadako is one of my mains. She's definitely better than people make her out to be, however... Dredge came out and he's Sadako 2.0, he does every she does but better.

Sadako just needs a rework so she's not Dredge's lamer sister. (I would consider this a design problem the developers should fix).

Personally her Condemn is too easily removed and too hard to gain combined with how long TVs are shut off for when you TP along with survivors be able to hold their item and the tape at the same time makes her very weak sadly.

PS I forget to mention that putting a tape in is pretty much instant and basically Gen tapping mid chase....

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Killers have their hands held at the moment by the devs. I'm hoping we have a fairer game in the future.

But survivors weren't getting thiers held for so long? I have seen survivors say I'm changing to Killer or I'm quitting til the game is more balanced etc.....but when Killers were having same issues patch after patch after patch and finally said enough and did the same thing survivors were like get gud...or bye Felicia not caring and then Survivor Que times went up and no one understood why.

Well now the shoes on the other foot but it's now combined with Survivors sabotaging games by DCing, Suiciding on hook, not doing Gens at all, or even running to the Killer and sitting there just to get downed.

If survivors would just play the game and not go "Oh no it's Thanta I'm giving up" then things might go differently.

  • Wait isn't that what they are doing with the new Mori system....the last survivor that gets downed is automatically Moried in a special area.....

The kill rate is increased, I think it’ll end up being like a 7% increase or something when the dust settles, but I agree, people who say you can’t escape in solo queue are being hyperbolic. As long as you play well and don’t rage quit after the first couple of downs you have a good chance of 2-4 escapes at the end.

Rage quit how about the ones sabotaging survivor games by actively seeking out the killer, not doing gens, or just saying "Take me now Entity" and letting themselves die on hook

Last week out of the 75 rescues I attempted to do 68 just let themselves die on hook. Most of the time I was the only one doing any gens.

I'll be seeing if the dust has settled a bit this weekend when I play....but my hopes are not very high

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3099476#Comment_3099476

Yes, the survivors that sabotage the game aren´t realizing, that they are killing the game with their ridiculous demands for easy matches.

For once the game looks more balanced than ever and yet...

This could be very well a breaking point for DbD.

I'm normally not one to be a doomsdays preacher but I have seen games go down for much less.

Entitled Survivors that thinks the game revolves around them who decided to sabotage the game for those who are adapting to the changes they hate and some I believe are the influx of campers and tunnelers too.

  • I think many are over reacting and alot of the very vocal people on the forums are strangely from new or very low post accounts.

I haven't seen many campers or tunnels last weeknd when I played except the ones that wanted to get get rid of the only survivor that had CoH and Shadow Step which I don't care because they wanted to get rid of a annoying perk.

I mean Gen times are a bit longer but nothing that really impacts my game, but what impacts it is all the survivors that just don't do the gens and run for the Killer or just suicide and that's what's causing most of my games to be losses.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3099448#Comment_3099448

The issue why survivors are unhappy is mainly other survivors. That sabotage the game in the hope that the devs roll the patch back. Ruining the game for everyone.

Lets say for a second, that the devs actually give in. That they roll the patch back. That killers get the short end of the staff once again, like so many times. What do you think, how killer players would react?

Honestly if they did that I think that would be the straw that broke the camel's back for most of the killer players and then we might actually see the pulse of DbD start to slow down. This patch showed that the Devs actually care a bit about both sides and gained some much need trust with them....if they rolled it back then that trust would be shattered beyond repair for many.

  • @Phoxella said:

I just wanted to know some of your guys opinions, from both killer and survivors.

im a survivor main - who was sort of losing interest in the game about a month before the PTB. Obviously love dead hard, but I primarily used balanced landing for years. I do miss the old dead hard, but it’s nice to change it up (trying not to use balanced landing either since I did use that for a longggg time).

I find it harder to play as survivor in general. Everyone says it’s the DH nerf - but I feel like it’s just much more than that. It feels like no matter what I do the killer is always on my ass. (Ex: the buff to breaking pallets, vaulting, basekit unrelenting) Idk, just seems like I legit am either on the hook immediately or it takes like two whole years to complete a gen with all the regression perks (which can be pretty boring honestly.)

as for killer though - I genuinely feel like it’s easier to play. I probably don’t have a high MMR as killer because I definitely consider myself a baby killer, but even going against baby survivors before the patch was hard for me. Now I feel like I can easily get a 4k and actually catch up to the survivors instead of getting stuck in an infinite loop for 3 gens lol.

id love to know what everyone is running perk-wise as survivor and as killer, as well as how your play-style has changed and whether you all like the update or not.

Well overall the patch has mixed reviews depending who you ask. There are veterans who have already adapted to the changes and it's business as usual. Then you have the ones who loved to bully the killer with DH and other Metas which made Survivors a easy game.

Gen times were a issue but now they are not but I think they should of gone with the idea I had which was to add a smaller game to them. Which is when the Gen is repaired to 25, 50, and 75% the repair stops and a spare part spawns the furthest from the Gen that the survivors have to grab and bring back to the Gen to continue past that mark. Once past that mark if the Gen would regrss past it you wouldn't need to find another part just repair past that point.

That would of made repair times longer but added a little side objective that survivors could do that wasn't sit on Gens.

As to Camping hat perks I'm running haven't changed much.

Survivor I mainly use CoH, Shadow Step, Lithe, and Botany Knowledge.

Killer Has changed but is different for who I play but the average build is Overcharge, Forced Penance, Save the Best for Last, Sloppy Butcher.

  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3099148#Comment_3099148

Yes, because killers don’t abuse camping and tunneling

Yes some do unfortunately which is why we are discussing how to combat it.

The Devs said that both Camping and Tunneling are valid strats to use when use correctly not when it's 5 gens still up etc.

So any fix they make will have to be something that dosnt punish those who use both correctly but punish the toxic players who use them to be just that... toxic.

It will have to be something that can't be abused by either side.

  • @dugman said:

I think the idea I like best so far is to significantly slow the hook timer when the killer is within X meters of the hook, with X carefully chosen so the killer is enticed to not just stand around a hook but not so far that the killer can't feasibly react to a rescue in a reasonable timeframe. (Something like X= 20 or 25 meters might work for instance.) That would put the base game in line with perks like Devour Hope, Make Your Choice and the new Monstrous Shrine which also all encourage killers to steer clear of a hooked survivor to gain a benefit. You still could hypothetically have a killer just face camp anyway for no reason at all, but at least in that case in the above system the timer would go so slowly that the rest of the survivors could much more easily finish all the gens and escape in the meantime, even against something like a face camping Bubba.

As far as the idea in the original thread above, I don't like the idea of the base game unhook Endurance being treated differently from other Endurance effects. I could see its duration being increased to 7 seconds to give the survivor more time to get to safety or at least a loop or pallet if the killer decides to chase them. That said note that increasing the base game Endurance from an unhook still wouldn't protect you from a face camping Bubba specifically since their chainsaw will just shred through Endurance like it's not there. So I do think another system like the timer slowdown I mentioned is probably needed instead to cover that.

And this is all assuming we're talking specifically about so called "hard tunneling" straight off an unhook being something the devs might want to disincentivize. Other types of so called "tunneling" (e.g. a killer following you after they injure you to secure a down, or intentionally choosing to down an injured person over a healthy one or an already hooked survivor over an unhooked one) aren't a problem.

Sadly they already tested that out and it was a complete failure since survivors abused the heck out of it.

Let me tell you something to give you pause. I am pretty unbiased. I was an iri 1 killer before the patch and after the patch. I play a lot of survivor, every day. And I don't think the patch is bad for the game at all. I think it's a huge step towards balance.

So stop acting like unbiased people think the same as you. I play more survivor now than I did before and the patch doesn't change much about my skill or success. The game play is better on BOTH sides.

As some people said the way some are crying and complaining about the patch it's more than likely they were the ones using DS I'm end game that caused it to get nerfed in the first place.....or using DH for distance and actually didn't have the skills they thought they did.

But for real, what is everyones experience with Sprint Burst so far? Did he doom sayers claiming "all killer mains who asked for DH nerfes will curse the new Sprint Burst meta because its actually much stronger" actually rung true? Or can you deal with Sprint Burst and other exhaustion perks just fine?

If you can't gauge how good a player is from 2 matches then you shouldn't be talking on game balance.

Show some of your own gameplay before you ask for a whole video collection of others. Still waiting.

I don't have any I'm just a casual gamer that doesn't feel the need to record every game or want to showcase thought skills to a public that doesn't really care.

But the point I was making was this, you asked everyone else to post video proof saying that you have posted links in the past with nothing in response. But when ask to point out a said video because they can't find any video on sources available to them about anything dealing with the Nurse because there are too many other videos to shift through you refuse basically saying "It there just look harder"

I never thought about that, it sucks. You really don't get anything of value until you're maybe up to level 30 again i think.

They are reworking the bloodweb stuff though right? or was that just a rumour?

Yes they are just will take time to adjust and set up the means for it to spawn high tier gear at level 1 after prestige

You ignored my request to come back and continue claiming others are lying. Show me the video please.

They won't respond to you. You obviously pointed out a flaw in their arguments and they will just ignore you. They complain about no one gives out video proof and they do when requested but when requested to show some they don't

I agree with this, but without validation you can time it perfectly and it acts as if the button was never pressed. This has been an issue with pallets, etc since they fixed Validation making lots of noises for incorrect downs on killer side. Having a perk that requires such a narrow window (which is great, mind you) is just painful without validation to know if you pressed it before the killer hit you. Right now this issue persists with pallets, where you will clearly go to drop the pallet, but it acts as if you never even touched it. This isn't a net issue, either. Many people I watch/play with rage at the pallets not dropping properly. You'll get there with plenty of time and could even be spamming the button, but it just pretends it never happened. This is how Dead Hard currently is. Some people don't have this issue as much, others have it almost every time. I just want to know that if I skillfully use my "parry" that it will be reliable.

Ahhh ok I see what your saying. As long as they don't have it pull like the hit validation issue I have no problems with it. I haven't experienced that myself when I used DH but I also can't time it to save my life lmao.

Gee, it's almost like coordination in solo queue is impossible! Who'd have thought?

Coordination isn't impossible it's just most soloQs just do thier own thing sadly. I had a game where I was working on the last Gen as two SoloQs run towards me I was thinking hey let's finish this last Gen Quickly.....they both run past as one heads to the exit gate and the other hides in a locker....I was able to finish the Gen but not without looping the Killer to the one by the exit gate so they could take the heat and I could finish the Gen.

I forced them to be a team player.....
