They can actually say they did a pretty good job so far now lmfao
But of course, there's still the matter with your average Dead Hard connoisseur who don't know how to loop a killer without having a button that undoes an outplay, so of course they are still gonna complain nonstop.
I like where DbD is heading. No more free wins for survivors, they actually need to put in an effort to win. No more freaking aneurysms for killers trying to win an unwinnable game. SWF's are still a problem but a reasonably manageable one.
Yea but now DH takes actual skill and just press E and forget lol.

Considering there is not much difference in steam chart (which of course not everything but is a fair portion of players), the chances are more people trying out killers, and which is good.
Also in my region killer que has already reverted to 20 sec lmao
Technically it's not they are trying out Killer now when it has been buffed but not when it was a miserable experience for Killers to understand why these changes, albeit a little over buffed/nerfed in some areas, but they won't understand why....

Because killers will cry if they don't get their last kill by tunneling that person off hook. Just wait, they'll cry for BT to get the same treatment, and I won't be surprised when the devs just agree.
Killers definitely needed some of these buffs. But some of these nerfs we're just really bad pandering to killers.
I don't think it was pandering per say because in a game like this the 1 should be more powerful than the 4 but what the Devs did was try to put that role right but they just went a bit overboard just a wee bit
-
@Tiufal said:
Cause the game is now entirely killer sides even though things shouldnt be any sided at all.
Killers should be the power role and should be stronger than survivors but I think the Devs did a bit too much to do that sadly. Alot of the changes were needed yes but not to some of the extremes that they did tbh.

But you don't debate Sluzzy you throw out very one sided veiws and attack anyone with insults or just rude behavior if they don't have your own views. Your posts are kown to start us vs them arguments that don't help anyone at all.

Deathslinger also has a great one (Iri Coin) and also a worthless one (hellshire iron).
About the executioner we don't even need to talk, an iridescent that only makes you undetectable when standing on a ToT trail (that doesn't even linger) is not worth it. Trapper surprisingly has very solid iris and Myers as well (you could even argue they are OP, especially against not so good survivors). I'm still confused why BHVR makes some iris so bad that they could have been purple or green addons. It feels like they throw random attributes and conditions /requirements in a randomizer and then click on the randomizer button and think: 'that would be a great iri, definitely not overpriced and doing almost nothing for an iri is find'. I think most killers still need their addons reworked or rebalanced.
Right Pyramid Head had soany possibilities for some good addons...he's still one of my favorite Killers just because he's my favorite video game monster....but I agree it seems like some of the weaker Killers have more solid iris like Doc for instance...if you run Queen and King...your just wanting to bulldoze the Survivors.....now with the new changes I might get back onto him and see how he plays out .....Dr Feel Good is back baby!

Bc stacking endurance is way more busted, esp when all four survivors are doing this.
Sure there are still killers stacking gen protection, which is really not necessary. But the individual perks changed massively. Ruin is extremely rare, pop is rare, PR+DMS is barely used. I had way more Thana and Overcharge games, even jolt was used more often. BBQ is also used way less than before. So the meta did change, just not so much as hoped (yet).
But I feel the patch was the right direction. When playing a killer, I feel much more confident to run gimicky or meme builds adn not be totally stomped by the survivors to do so. Let's hope many "casual" killer players recognize this as well and experiment more with the lesser used perks.
Ruin is busted now and can combo with any perk that blocks gens....DMS and PR don't combo anymore because of the change to PR. Very few slowdowns actually can stack with each other successfully.
Yes there are some that can but the selection is slim. If a Killer is running 4 slowdownsore than likely there is conflicts between them

It only happens on that map because of how the placement of tiles are done... according to the game that is a valid placement because they are on two separate tile locations that read as far enough apart even though they obviously are not

I don't know if someone answered this but you can still technically stack them but as long as your under deep wounds other endurance effects won't activate but they are still there I believe counting down. Yes, because killers don’t abuse camp and tunnel
Unfortunately the Devs have said camping and tunneling are valid strats in certain situations and they have to be careful how they deal with each one because if they do something to punish the face campers at 5 gens or the toxic tunnelers then they will punish the players that are doing them both in the proper situations.

I knew it would be a problem but after really feeling it and not just see it on a paper I feel it is much worse than I thought. You have to grind for hours to have a chance to pick up few of these addons and some killers have only 1 of them good.
And most of them are bad or not worth it on the others....very few Killers have anything good Iri addons.

Exactly this. I agree the Devs went a bit crazy but some of these changes were needed.

The us vs them has been a thing long before this patch, time didn't start ticking after this update. It's only bad now because you're seeing more people be vocal about their dissatisfaction with this patch. If you don't have the stamina for discussion then, Eat it, adapt, or quit and come back later.
Discussion on what you bash anyone who doesn't have your own views. Survivors called Killers whiners and crybabys when Boons and CoH we're a major issue....when the Snowman event was being abused by survivors which caused killers to ruin the event for others.
The slowdown meta is here we can't change that no matter how much we whine and complain about it. Gen times were a issue for a long time and the Devs finally looked in on it, did they go a bit crazy yes because with the Gen increase they could of buffed different perks or adjusted the perks differently.

I would not consider our group as a bully squad as we do not push for gens, so as i said we almost always died (hatch). If we pick troll builds, its totally fine we get tunneled, nobody complains about that. Many times we even had a good conversation in the post game chat, so we like to troll but we are not toxic. No t-bagging, no flashlight spamming or other (in my opinion) unfair mechanics.
I understand but who is REALLY having fun your squad with troll builds or the Killer player who has to deal with 4 survivors with troll builds.....I can tell you from experience that the Killer isn't having fun dealing with that.

@Lordofweed said:
Hey there,
hope you guys doing well with the new update!
I have read some posts with different opinions about the update. Killers are happy, because the game is no longer survivor sided, which is great for many people.
For many years this game were frustrating for Killers, at least in my opinion (nurse main, but also played some weaker killers and i also play a lot of survivor) and this seems to be over now, but let me tell you, how the first days went.
I play DBD with a small group of like 8-10 players nearly every day. Not all of them are always online and some of us have around 3-5k hours into dbd, while some of us have like 600h. Our matches have been kinda balanced before the patch came out. Ofc we played with DH, DS, Iron Will or other strong meta perks before the patch went live, but we also had a lot of fun with Head On and other troll builds (we lost those ones prett much every time, but we had lots of fun!). Our survival rates were pretty good without a troll build. At least 3 of us survived in like 60% of the matches we've played, which ofc was a bit too much to call it balanced. Only the toxicity amongst the dbd community had a bad influence so some of us (including me).
On patch day, the first rounds went okay-ish. We pretty much died every match but tunneling or camping were almost non-existent. I was quite happy about the changes, because the killers apparently no longer felt the need to constantly tunnel or camp the Survivors in order to have fun with the game. BHVR brought a breath of fresh air into the otherwise so boring DBD everyday life.
This first impression changed from the second day on. On the survivor side, I escaped 4 or 5 rounds out of about 25-30, mostly while everyone else died. I even saw that some killers used NOED successfully again and killed every survivor, since after 5 gens you usually 2 players already died, if not everybody. On the killer side, i have won ALL killer rounds since the update (3k+, nearly only 4ks), including my first trapper round (4k without perks of course, except for agitation lvl 1 and no addons) and i'm truly a bad m1 killer player.
While some of our small dbd community were pretty sad about the changes on the first day of the update (they even looked for other games to play in the future and even considered to quit playing dbd), i was still not entirely convinced, that the update would not provide other sufficient ways to play the game as a survivor. So yesterday i played around 10 hours (with breaks) to see if I, as a survivor with about 1150 hours of dbd experience, could find a workable way to make the game enjoyable and not have to die every match after the 2nd or 3rd gen...In vain.
Today i asked many people in bigger DBD Community Discord servers (some of them with hundreds of people), for their opinions about the update so far and they have made the same experience like our small dbd community.
Today, my opinion stands:
The Game Balancing was shifted too much towards the killers...
...and this is just as unhealthy for the game as it was before the patch when the game was clearly survivor-sided.
Our small DBD community just couldn't enjoy DBD anymore and if you look at the player numbers, it's not just us. We're really sad about the fact, that dbd is the only game our small community can enjoy playing together because no other game captures all of our gaming interests.
I think nerfing DH was the right thing to do but nerfing Iron Will, Spine Chill and DS at the same time was maybe a bit too much in combination with the gen adjustments.
It's so sad that the only way to enjoy this game at the current state is to play killer (solo). I hope the current problems will still be adjusted soon :(
Thank you very much if you have made it to this part of my post and remember: I'm not your enemy. I play both sides and i love dbd like many of you too <3
I read your entire post and yes there are some parts I agree 100% with and that they may of shifted it to far Killer side but what made me lose a lot of interest and since is that you admitted to forming bully squads the very squads that brought about some of these changes and what made many Killer go to tunneling and camping to begin with.
I for one have caught my self tunneling a bully squad member because my anger rose too high. I'm sorry that the game has shifted sides so dramatically but bully squads and troll squads get no love from me because toxic behavior I don't condone or agree with.

As a killer i find the decicive change to be terrible to be honest.
I like that i'm not locked into place for 5 seconds but the survivors don't make any distance at all whatsoever.
I'd say keep the 3 second stun but give the survivor a speed boost for a bit so they can actually get away.
The sad part is they wanted to revert DS to where it was before the endurance bug when they had to increase it while they fixed it. Unfortunately they forgot to factor in the animation again for the drop to give the full three seconds l....tbh I think 4 secs plus a small boost would of been a happy medium for DS.

@NiiiCX said:
How to counter tunnel : Make a passive for every survivor.
If the said killer is near the hooked survivor, the hooked time STOPS. ( so ppl can just press M1 )
If the said killer tunnels the hooked dude ( the game knows when someone is being chased ) every survivor gains a 100% gen speed and the tunneled guy gets a haste boost as long as he gets tunneled. Done. No more piece of ######### camper/tunneler and no rewards from doing so.
I like the new update. No more Noob Hard. But dear Jesus, it's easier to tunnel now and it's getting boring to see a dude getting unhooked and get down when other survivors gets the " safe unhook " bonus.
Wake up.
Sadly the first idea was tested and was scrapped because survivors abused the heck out of it.
Also I can see the second one being abused by survivors as well only because the game wouldn't be able to tell when the Killer is chasing one survivor or tunneling another one....

This has nothing to do with perks. If you took every perk off both killers and survivors and played a game right now 9/10 games would be won by the killers. Because those 10 extra seconds on a gen are enough for killers to completely destroy entire teams. I don't you appreciate how much of a difference 10 seconds is. Because before this patch people were getting out, but it wasn't even a lot of times, and it wasn't more than usual. And that was with 10 seconds less on each gen. Most of the time it was a pretty close fight if the killer and the survivors were on the same level or relatively the same level. Now it's miles apart. You're only getting out if you have an extremely good group or an extremely bad killer, or both.
So if you're asking "what's the big difference now". I'm going to make this as clear as humanly possible, here is the big difference. They FIXED gen rushing. And DIDN'T fix camping and tunneling.
You made it about perks in the first sentence of your post. You said new players wouldn't get purple perks anymore and that it would take 3 prestiges to get there....that was blatant misinformation because that has never been the case during this patch or before.
Yes if you took all perks away from both sides pre patch Killers would win because survivors were dependent on their crutch perks like now after DH and DS got nerfed. Killers are SUPPOSED to be powerful because that's the point of a asymmetrical game. The ideal balance for a game like this would be 100% power Killer while each survivor should be 25% power each so that if they work as a team they could deal with the Killer.

Only new players will quit even quicker now because first they don't get purple perks anymore, it takes 3 prestige levels to get there, so if anything they'll hate that. Second they don't know how to loop and between the killers being much stronger and not being able to play well they won't enjoy the experience. And finally last but not least even if they somehow manage to overcome the first 2 things the constantly getting camped and tunneled will demoralize them completely. So by all means keep telling yourself that it's "the same ol' thing". It isn't.
No you can still get tier 3 perks you don't have to prestige to get them....you still learn perks normally in the bloodweb. You just unlock them for all respective characters when you prestige up.
All this patch did was show who truly has skills to pay the bills and who were being supported by the crutch perks.
Did the Devs go a bit Nerf happy....yes they did I can't deny that...but still doesn't change what I just said

Yeah 20k is not that much its the principle, but if i want to Prestige all killers (all are at Lvl 9) the cost is 1.5 million. thats alot of blood points to be able to to do that. Yeah they didnt cut down the blood web cost, just increased it.
The biggest grind for most players was for perks, be it trying to find the perk you want after prestige or looking for the upgraded tiers, now that you don't lose anything after prestige and with how prestige works now that it unlocks all perks of said character onto each corresponding character it does lower the grind.
As for addons I barely use anything above yellow in most cases some purples but barely use any Iri addons because most are crap. So as I level up I'll have a stockpile of addons.

Right, per the description it’s supposed to notify the survivor when the killer is in 36 meters, no exceptions to that part. The line of sight only impacts the action speed bonus.
Yea as I said above in a response...I know the game needs accessibility options but to do a total 180 from what they were supposed to do with it just defeats the purpose of it's balancing issue that they stated they wanted to do with it in the first place.

@Regulus47 said:
Agreed. If anything killers should be the ones penalised in endgame. They lost, they shouldn't be getting the go ahead to facecamp and tunnel with absolutely nothing that can stop them, completely wasting that survivor's match. But hey they'll probably do it anyway
You do realize that's when tunneling and camping is ok because there isn't any other goal for the killer but kill right....
-
@designator said:
It just makes it harder to get value from your perks and punishes survivors for getting to endgame so baby killers can have an easier time tunneling someone out. Why not disable every survivor perk during endgame? Hell let's disable exhaustion perks too.
No they disabled them at end game because too many survivors were using them for a free escape because Killers couldn't regain the chase before they reached a 99 gate or other survivors would bodyblock once and they would lose them

Camp. Maybe hook change location like pyramid head cage. But BHRV team so smart make this game worsh in all update!
That won't work because the cages already don't work right and if they do work right it's easy to position someone at the opposite side of the map and bring the chase to the cage for easy unhook.

They changed it where if the killer has line of sight on you, YOU get a BUFF on speeds. That's the only thing line of sight does, now. You're guaranteed to know if there is ever a killer near you at any given moment now permanently and without cooldown without any line of sight requirements. It is now literally IMPOSSIBLE for a stealther to sneak up on someone. They are given 32 meters of advance notice which is plenty of time to run away.
Wow....just wow .I know the game needs accessibility options but they didn't need to do that and go back on what they were saying is one of the two reasons for the change to the perk ...

You said
HOWEVER, I think there was an unintended side effect of this. When an Undetectable killer is within 36m, they don't have a TR to get more intense. Obsensibly because of the bug, the perk is completely filled and just lights up whenever a killer is within 36m period.
But per the patch notes the perk is supposed to give a notification when a killer is within 36 meters, the notification has nothing to do with the terror radius
Spine Chill Reworked: Get notified when the Killer within a 36-meter range. If the Killer is within range and is looking at you with a clear line of sight, your speed while repairing, sabotaging, healing, unhooking, cleansing, blessing, opening exit gates and unlocking is increased by 2%/4%/6%. The effects of Spine Chill linger for 0.5 seconds after the Killer looks away or is out of range. Spine Chill's icon indicates the strength of the Killer's Terror Radius.
In other words you're incorrectly assuming the new Spine Chill is only supposed to notify the survivor if the survivor is within their terror radius but that's not the case per above. They get notified when the killer is within 36 meters, no restrictions. According to those notes the only thing that changes based on terror radius is that the icon has an indicator which is supposed to show the strength of the terror radius as well.
Again, like I said above, whether or not that's a good idea for the perk is another question.
But the issue I have seen is SC still activates even when there is no clear line of sight. I was in the middle of a gym doing a Gen and it lit up because a Ghostie was heading my way but the direction he came from there was a wall blocking his LoS so according to the notes it shouldn't light up and activate.

It was "fairly" nerfed? All the main survivor perks (dh, spine chill, self care, iron will, ds) got nerfed to the point where they are useless. The killer perks got minor nerfs. Some of the strongest killer perks like bbq didn't get any nerf in terms of gameplay. The most broken perk in the game (noed) got a minor nerf. I know this was meant to be a killer sided patch but this is a bit much. I'm just going to run swfs and carry with prove thyself. Cannot win in solo q.
Wait you think BBQ is one of the Killers Strongest perks .... Wow I hate to say this but if you think that I hate to break it to you then you'll have nothing but a miserable time because before the patch Killers only really used it for the BP gains and information second.
I won't go into why NOED is not broken but now can be found alot easier since it gives off a aura....so if you use like Small Game... Detectives Hunch...or a good map then NOED will not be a problem to cleanse out.

My survivor main friends are currently saying goodbye to dbd solely because of DH.
I will miss them.
Then that's just st sad they quit over a single perk change

I think twins can only get cooked by insane genrushing (4 boxes with BNP or whatever) and maybe a map like Lerrys (wasnt on that map as twins so far)
Not really I looped both Vic and Big Sis multiple times...the only reason we got 4k isy teammates kept trying to body block and not do gens
