People dont dc or kill themselves on hook for no reason.
Oh but either you're joking or you bought the game yesterday for you to say something like this. Survivor ALWAYS killed themselves for no reason. If you're getting camped, you're giving time for the team to escape. If you're getting tunneled, you got 25 different ways of stopping that tunnel AND you're giving time for the team to escape. I could confidently tell you in 6 years I played as a killer, about 90% of the survivors that killed themselves on hook, did it because they got heavily outplayed.
All of these "reasons" are shallow, killing yourself on hook/DC'ing is literally NEVER justified, safe for 1 single situation which is when there's just you and someone else remaining in the match, instead of having them risk their life to save you, you give them a chance to find hatch and escape.

So today I played 10 matches as I planned to finish our survivor challenges and I noticed very early on… I was winning all my survivor matches. 7 out of 10 escapes, 8 gates powered …. ?
i changed up my build to de ja vu, pts, overcome and off the record. Most matches at least one other person had pts and sometimes de ja vu/overzealous. All but two killers had 1-2 slowdowns with two having four(those they got 4ks). Only one match the killer comp tunneled someone out.
Mostly my teammates split up and did gens. Most of us were just ok loopers with the occasional god loopers. Most of the killers got 7 hooks. So it was fairly engaging. Lots of killers who shouldn’t using thana tho thinking it would do more for them than it did since most of us brought med kits.
really had a good time since the patch dropped!
People are just realizing that the game is more balanced now and stopping all the bull######### on throwing the game and "not playing survivor anymore". People were throwing the game probably because they couldn't use Dead Hard to escape outplays anymore, so first hook after getting their ass handled to them, they just killed themselves on hook to play against a different killer. My god, this has to be one of the patches that survivors complained more of all the patches the game had so far, and people are somehow really saying survivor is unplayable now lmfao...
I don't usually watch Tru3ta1ent but he sometimes shows up on my YouTube home page, last night I saw a video of him playing Oni and he answered something from a viewer and said "You need to realize that survivors don't cry about how they lost, they cry because they lost." Something along these lines and this has never made more sense than in this patch.
Edit: and since people are throwing, more and more people are quitting the game since they can't play a single match without a crybaby ragequitting in their team, basically throwing the game. This game is dying right now not because it's unbalanced or even unfun, it's because it's community is FILLED with entitled, crybaby players who feel like they should be stronger than the killer in a 1v1, even with 3 other people in their team.

With how much of a bore the previous meta was, where there was a lack of killers (mostly afking to bring down their hidden MMR) and most of the matches were facecamping killers, this patch brought a fresh paint to Dead by Daylight. There is no reason to wait out for a Dead Hard, there is no reason to camp any longer. Killers feel like an actual threat rather than your usual punching bag. All the killers that were plagued by these survivor meta builds are now viable and enjoyable all because they decided to change the meta. Playing against SWF is no longer a problem. Solo Q is still a problem but I trust them to eventually make plans to combat that. Playing as survivor feels like putting more effort and skill instead of pressing a button and extend a loop.
Honestly, I couldn't be more happier than this. You, BHVR, did the impossible. I'm proud of you all.
They can actually say they did a pretty good job so far now lmfao
But of course, there's still the matter with your average Dead Hard connoisseur who don't know how to loop a killer without having a button that undoes an outplay, so of course they are still gonna complain nonstop.
I like where DbD is heading. No more free wins for survivors, they actually need to put in an effort to win. No more freaking aneurysms for killers trying to win an unwinnable game. SWF's are still a problem but a reasonably manageable one.

Their nerfing it because it gives to much information on the killer is what I hear...How or is it because you can play jump scare Myers anymore because a survivor has Spine chill. I like the perk mainly for the fact I now can deal with Wraiths and all that now it only works if the killer has direct sight of you. I know how to make the perk better let's also remove the speed you get on repairing and healing that barely changes anything. Spine chill is fine as is the speed boost never made it over powered plus the killer looks at me it activates it doesn't prevent them from chasing me or not downing me while I'm exposed. I have no idea why people complain about the perk even then some perks that people complain about get nerfed all the time I complain about Dead hard i never say it needs a nerf I just say I hate how I can hit someone but it doesn't count because they used the perk. Spine chill is fine the way it is.
Bro, you could be playing against a Ghost Face/Myers/Wraith/Pig and they would never catch you off guard because of the perk alerting you they are near and looking at your direction even through walls. It also gave the vaulting speed to the survivor which further weakened these same killers, now it doesn't.
Tbh I thought I would see so many more people complaining about the nerfs to Dead Hard and Ruin, yet most people seem chill about it but complain about the non meta perks

So say I am getting tunneled and I take a BT hit and gain a little distance but still get hard tunneled no time to mend and get hit again will I go down because endurance doesn't stack? If that Is the case this makes OTR counterplay tunneling the thing It Is suppose to prevent...
Short answer: no.
Long answer: No endurance status perk can overlap with each other "creating additional healthstates" anymore.
The only perk that gives another healthstate that needs to be tested if it stacks is MoM. MoM negates the hit instead of giving you endurance, so probably it stacks.
Want my advice on this? If you need, run this build that would make it immensely harder for the killer to get to you again: MoM, Overcome, Iron Will (even with the upcoming nerf it still is a very good perk especially on Ace) and Deception. Picture a killer hitting you straight down from the hook, you running to the other side of the map, using Deception on a locker and sprinting straight outta there.

That looks fun, imma join this. Here's mine based on how much fun it is to play them:
Funnily enough I often play Doctor, Legion and Cenobite because I like their gameplay, usually ends up in frustration though.

The meta change is really unnecessary, why did they do it like 6 years later and not something in the beginning of the years of DBD? Many of my friends are gonna uninstall/stop playing after the update, and it really makes me feel sad about them leaving the game when we used to play a lot! They completely nerfed all perks to garbage and they want us to get used to new perks.. like after using the same perks for 1-2 years, they are forcing us to new perks which we all don’t like. Many camping and tunneling after the update which is gonna be really annoying.
What are your thoughts about it?
why did they do it like 6 years later and not something in the beginning of the years of DBD?
Well they did something right now, better than to remain the same forever.
Many of my friends are gonna uninstall/stop playing after the update
Survivors have grown accustomed to being way more powerful lol
Now that the killer is getting basically a quality of life update, survivors left and right are going to leave because they don't have as much power anymore.
They completely nerfed all perks to garbage and they want us to get used to new perks..
Not a single word here is true.
Many camping and tunneling after the update which is gonna be really annoying.
Ah yes, that 2.5% instant regression on a generator when I kick it will really help me camp a hook! That extra 10 seconds that can be mitigated by 2 survivors doing the same generator is gonna make the survivors hook themselves in the basement, I don't even need to hit them!
Oh please, killers have been at the short end of this game for years on end even before Dead Hard and BT basekit were a thing. Survivors got like 200 different buffs up until now while killers got like 10. But relax, my 10% faster pallet breaking is still gonna make me struggle for a 3K all the same.

do you not know putting quotes around strategy like "strategy" means I'm not validating it as an actual strategy right? Its a strategy, that involves very little strategy. And just because BHVR said kill rates are lower than they like doesn't mean people aren't getting easy 4K with facecamping.
Killers actually going out of their way to actually play the game are the reason for these numbers "lower than they'd like" and the issues they're facing should be addressed. But they didn't say "camping and tunneling results in fewer kills than they'd like"
And sure, I never said survivors don't have their share of crybabies. I play both sides so I always comment as someone who plays the game in general. I have a perspective for both.
And you do understand the lack of simple logic in the statement "easy 4k face camping" right? If you facecamp you lost the game, unless the survivors themselves want to throw the game at your feet.
Lmfao even with NOED+Blood Warden combo, getting 4k simply by standing still camping is just NEVER happening unless you're a Bubba with everybody simply standing still grouped together for you to chainsaw through.

So before we start my opinion: Nurse is stupidly OP killer that anybody can learn in week or two and then go stomp pubs, and she should be nerfed with her OP addons.
Ok so the whole Nurse mains, and a lot of people on this forum mentality is "Survivors bad, killers good" and also "Swf is OP please nerf", but yeah, I could agree on SWF in some way, but not the way that at least loudest ones on this forum talk about.
A lot of these people thinks that nurse should not be nerfed because of strenght of SWF (4 man, I assume), especially on high MMR, but there will be my personal experience, take it if you want, I love to play blight and I win most of my games NOT EVEN USING 4 META PERKS, and I play blight a lot. Why do I win? Because most of survivors are just decent, even at high MMR and I assume, I repeat, I assume that my blight at high MMR because I play as him a lot and I win a lot. So I rarely get 4 man swf, and when I get, I loose sometimes yeah, because I am not using meta perks, but even in those cases I have around 50% KR.
Now back to those mentality, for some reason a lot of people thinks that they are playing against 4 man SWF every game, but it's just not possible, check this stats, yes, it's pretty old but I hardly doubt something changed now, even if we assume you only playing against 4 man swf at high mmr, what time it will take to find a game? My queue time is pretty fast
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O1CJ4LJPHMEH/cpidc1xe8jbt.jpg
So as we can see, ~50% players are solo, 25% are duo, about 10% are trio, and only 6% are 4 man, and based on my experience, this is still pretty correct.
But maybe 4 man have anomaly high escape rate? Nah, it's around 50%.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HRL2K9UA577P/image.png
I know this is old stat, sadly, there are no MMR distribution, but I talked with a lot of people, especially killer mains, their experience is pretty much same as mine, they are also winning most of their games, even when they are playing against 4 man. And trust me, there are almost no competitive squads, I've played only against one since MMR was added.
Competitive squad can win best nurse, but you are talking about THE BEST, THE 0.001% of players THAT ARE LITERALLY TRAINING 4+ HRS A DAY HOW TO PLAY AGAINST NURSE. Do you really expect the same from average players, or even good players? Yes, there are also not much competitive nurses, but you don't have to be competitive to win most of your games, even against good survivors.
But hey, you could say, I don't trust you, you have no proofs, why should I beelieve to you?
I know for some weird reason people hate when others taking content creators as prooving point, "You don't have your own opinion!" I have my own opinion, I stated it at the start of this thread, my opinion matches with player, that make living by playing DBD tho I assume he is way more experienced than me and most of dbd players. I'm talking about Otz
He did the perkless, afk for 30s challenge
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0sr-m6fcNs
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7RIU8FYJCLMR/image.png
Pretty good results for such challenge, and ofc best games was on nurse, blight and spirit, 3 killers that everyone will consider top tier.
My opinion? He got a bit lucky, why a bit? Because he mostly played against solos, but MOST of killer games are against solos, if you don't beelieve, check stats at top or check your opponent's profiles.
I know also Tru3 accepted this challenge, but as far as I know he tried to play "fair" and he was unlucky in most of the games.
But CCs such as Dowsey, SpookAndJukes and others got pretty much the same results as Otz
Why did they win? They camped and tunneled, yes, these strats are very effective and can carry most of your games, I think you already know that.
Regardless, that's your average experience of playing killer, but for some reason a lot of players don't wanna accept it and only remember bad games.
Before we will go to good nurses killrates lets watch this
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8Q7LRW1IC9PE/image.png
Why? Because a lot of players claim that she has lowest killrate and shouldn't be nerfed, but any experienced player will look at this and say that this is just not true
Now back to Nurse players mentality with everything we know, they win at least 60% of their games, because soloq is awful, 75% if we also take duoq, but in fact this number will be around 90%.
Every.Single.Nurse.Player will camp and tunnel as soon as something will get out of control, even slightly. I have no problem with that, we are all doing our objective, but unlike bubba, nurse can camp effectively, especially in cases where there are gens nearby, no, you can't really counter that, a lot of times nurse is camping triangle, and I am not talking about the 1 last gen situaton, most of the times it's 4 gen situation. Not to mention everyone is playing with best perks and addons, but this is the same for survivors sometimes, we'll get to this later.
Also, not really fair point for DBD but let's take LoL or DoTA for example, if character have over 50% WR, he is strong, lower, he is weak. I would like to know what's killrate nurse have at high mmr for sure, but based on some nurse mains I've watched, it's around 100%. For example, RapidMain Who wong 25 games in a row as nurse, he had challenge, unlike most of nurse players
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyV6FmeS9r4&t=328s
Even in games I've mentioned above smurfs or boosters don't have 100% WR, in LoL they have around 65-70%, but they are not playing at their rank
The almost last but not least, perk nerfs, especially DH DS IW. The ones that kinda countered nurse and tunnel situations, they will be nerfed soon, and I hope to see incredible nurse killrate increase so she will be nerfed too.
The last and least, my thoughts about maining nurse, this is boring, this is boring to win almost every game, without putting any effort, without having any challenge, but that's me.
TL;DR
Most of survivors are soloq casuals, stop this mentality "Survivor bad, Killer good", you are barely even playing against 4 man swf, so you are should be able to win most of your games
Nurse should be nerfed, all the excuses are appliable only against 4 man swf, the 6% of the playerbase, and even this playerbase we can divide by half, because most of the players are casuals, and matchmaking is bad so they can get to high ranks somehow, also yes, best 4 man comp squad (0.001% of playerbase) can win best nurse, but you are talking about people that training 4+ hrs a day only how to play against nurse, you can't expect it from every player
P. S. I don't wanna insult anyone, the point of this thread to motivate you to analyze your games, check your winrate, check your opponents profiles, and you will be surprised.
Also, it took too long to write this all, if I forgot anything, leave a comment, I will try to answer
Bro made an entire post the size of a damn book to say a killer you can loop by breaking line of sight is OP 💀💀💀
The thing about nurse is: she's definitely OP, but only in the hands of the right person. Even at high MMR it's easy to loop nurses by breaking line of sight and juking them if you have more than 1 functioning braincell, plus she's stupidly easy to ######### up due to her power being basically her entire mobility.
Otzdarva is a streamer with over 5k hours, dude's so good at the game he's won various tournaments with monetary rewards, and you think it's somehow fair to compare him with your average high MMR killer because "he won without perks" lmfao... BHVR themselves literally said that killers were killing way less survivors than intended , hence the reason for the killer buff this patch. If 1 guy among 1.000 can do impossible stuff with something in the game, it isn't "broken".
It's funny seeing people say "blight is op", "nurse is op", "spirit is op" and then you see them trying to loop a nurse by standing at a pallet waiting to get a stun, or trying to loop a blight running in a straight line. Ffs, most of the killers have unique, EFFICIENT ways to loop and no killer, I repeat, NO KILLER in this game is truly that unstoppable overpowered machine survivors make them out to be.
Oh and one last thing, for the longest time (I don't know if this is still the case or not) the most famous DbD tournaments with real money rewards had rules, one of which was: the killer only needs to kill 2 survivors to win. This brings into perspective the SWF's capabilities, and while yes the highest ranked killers in the meta may oppress the solo survivor, this is counter balanced by SWF's stomping them anyway. The last tournament I watched was a nurse 3K'ing at 1 gen left.

Well if streamers do it, it must be the way to do it right? Also, tunneling/camping IS the easiest strategy, thats why new/bad killers do it. So what if "pros" on stream do it too? They don't just do it at 5 gens. I never said there isn't a time for it. Gens are flying by and you have to put some pressure, tunnel someone out. EGC, camping is the smart play. But the "pros' don't just do it at 5 gens. If the streamers you watch just camp/tunnel right out of the gate, and you're considering them the best DBD streamers then that tells me you simply camp/tunnel as your go-to and don't watch streamers who can actually play the game very well.
And regressing finished gens? So survivors can get back hook states too then or? Nah LOL You just want easy 4Ks, there is no shortage of killers like that. A gen is done, its done. A survivor is dead, they're dead.
I've never been like 'well they successfully finished that gen but it's bull I can't kick it and make it regress."
Also "camping" generators is simply DOING generators. Maybe its both of us don't know what we're talking about though XD
You give killers all the base kit rewards you want, they'll never be happy and will still tunnel/camp cuz its just easier. Same for survivors. They cry about the game being unfair just as much. You can give them all the base kit BT or whatever else. They will still call anything and everything tunneling.
Tell you what, I'll write BHVR an email, and ask them if they can make the game 4 v 2, that way killers can double up making the game twice as easy. Maybe that will be a big enough "reward" for killers to not ever camp/tunnel?
Tunneling/camping IS the easiest strategy, thats why new/bad killers do it.
So... You're calling "strategy" sitting in a spot and just waiting to kill 1 out of 4 survivors? New players do it because new survivors are clueless enough to go attempt a save with the killer 3 feet away.
You give killers all the base kit rewards you want, they'll never be happy and will still tunnel/camp cuz its just easier.
Is it though? Is waiting for a guy to die through all hook phases while simply not playing the game easier to get you a win? Hell, I guess I've been playing this game wrong struggling for a 3k when I could just put a guy on hook and wait right next to him for me to win the game.
You say there's no shortage of killers whining about not getting 4K's every game while BHVR LITERALLY SAID killers have been getting way fewer kills than intended, so that probably means something right? There's also no shortage of those survivors that got off the hook 2 seconds ago, touched a generator in front of the killer, got downed and hooked again just to whine about being tunneled/camped at the endgame chat.
The same way you find toxic killers that want 4k every game you find entitled survivors with god complex that think they should escape every game.

I see so many complaints about tunneling and camping (which is a massively over used term and people scream it even when it's not actually happening)
But you cant expect killers to play in a way that isn't rewarding and all round harder way especially when people are actually playing the game efficiently.
Things like a baby corrupt and a baby Scourage pain so it helps killers at the start and rewards them per hook along side punishments to camping etc. Who go down better
Also maybe if you didnt t-bag or click at the exit because the killer tried to play more fair and didnt get a kill... you're just making them want kills more than hooks and your "fun"
Until the SBMM is changed or killers are rewarded for hooks these playstyles wont go anywhere.
Side note to hookers: if you still try for hooks, well done you! While I dont see you at high mmr I'm glad you still exist ! but dont hinder your fun before ours. You're allowed try to win even through camping (just dont be toxic about it and you'll get a gg regardless from me)
Brother, I love how people tend to see camping only as that one Bubba that just stands below your feet just waiting to trigger a chainsaw and they still have the nerve to say if you put somebody on a hook you're supposed to forget they are even there.
There's a video from Lilith Omen who is a Blight main, where he gets 50 wins in a row with Blight and you can see his play style in almost every map, he puts somebody on a hook, run to hit another guy yet he usually comes back to check if someone is saving the hooked person. This is considered "proxy camping" or something from the survivor rule book which everybody show set fire to and throw it in the trash.
Hell, even the devs said themselves "camping is a valid strategy for the killer to secure a kill" and it absolutely is, if you stay there all game you will lose, if you keep returning to the hook to get hits on people who attempt to save the hooked survivor, you're just applying even more pressure.
My point in all of this is: people tend to yell camp even when you're not in fact camping, as a killer you need to capitalize on every single opportunity or you will lose anyway, it isn't a big deal to for example force a survivor to enter hook phase 2 because nobody could save them in time. People tend to forget that you need to ######### up twice to go down, twice more for the second hook stage, twice more to be dead without even counting a godly timed Dead Hard's (specially now with 0.5 secs you will need godly instincts to activate it at the right time but if you do there's nothing the killer can do about it) and other perks, protection hits, instaheals, endurance medkits and more. The killers capitalize where they can.

I dunno I feel there’s a way to keep their design of a rapid slashing to injure intact without turning the game into a slugging match. Like why have the deep wound part at all? I feel if that was made something else, Legion would both be stronger and more fun to go up against.
Fact is against newer/weaker players, Legion is very oppressive. They get three or four easy hits and lots of mending and time wasted. Against veterans however, Legion is laughably weak. Splitting up, playing cautiously during the frenzy and not mending until they are sure it’s over, taking full advantage of the fact Legion has no way to down people with their power so relies 100% on m1 which on some maps is near impossible or at best extremely time consuming. Unlike other m1 killers they get no assistance at all, no traps, no cloak, no stealth lunge, no bottles, nothing.
I think if Feral Frenzy did something else or it’s slashes built up charges to do something that would give them a better chance against veterans instead of deep wound almost everyone would be happier.
It was funny seeing people freaking out when BHVR announced the Legion buff to be actually rewarding to use their power. You would see people left and right saying "instadown on a killer that is way too fast is op!" But nobody took into account the ABSURD amount of effort you need to put into getting the 5th hit, they just looked at the instadown mechanic. One more reason why Legion is still bottom C tier.
I'm gonna stick to my guns on what I said once on Reddit and say the best thing for Legion and what actually fits their whole design would be for them to be able to somehow summon other Legion members to pursue survivors but have a mechanic of their own, an AI controlling them (hopefully not those Zombie AI's that STILL KEEP GETTING STUCK EVERYWHERE) to fit their theme of "a team of agile stabby stabby teenagers". Because in the game right now you are ONE stabby stabby teenager and you are WEAK.

Well, I just wanted to see if it's only me, or if you all have gotten into matches lately, got chased, got hooked, camped, or tunneled, and then out of the game, with this particular loop put on repeat on each and every single match. Cause that's what's been happening to me lately. And I absolutely got tired of it. I am not a survivor main, btw, I actually main killer, but I have also come to enjoy survivor gameplay as well lately. The problem is that this cycle put on repeat forever has become so frustrating. I promise I am not even baiting BT hits or DSes, I just try to play the game normally, but the killers still just want to tunnel. And I am done.
The last drop was this match I just had against a Nemesis on The Game, that tunneled as I've never seen before. He didn't even try to hide it or to cycle a different survivor in between my hooks. He just tunneled straight in our face and we could do nothing about it because he just tanked all the BTs and the DSes and still went after the unhooked survivor. And he literally tunneled each hook state of each survivor individually. Sometimes I get tunneling a person after 2 or 3 gens have been finished, but I cannot understand a Nemesis that tunnels like that from the beginning of the game till the end of it. It's like that was his sole mission in that match like he was doing an only tunnel challenge.
Because of this tunneling issue the game has, I've been taking it easier lately, playing DBD maybe once or twice a week. Well, I just wanted to say and also let Behaviour know that if they don't do something about tunneling and camping, all the survivor player base will just follow the same path as me. And that is, leave the game. As much as I love DBD and its core design and the 4v1 aspect of it, I cannot physically take more tunneling than I already have. Therefore I must proceed and say goodbye to this game for the time being and look into other games that can actually be fun to play, and not frustrating.
He just tunneled straight in our face and we could do nothing about it because he just tanked all the BTs and the DSes and still went after the unhooked survivor.
Bro, if a killer waits for the Borrowed, Gets DS'ed multiple times and focus only one survivor until he's dead you have more than enough time to get the gens done and get 3 people out E A S I L Y.
Btw there are only two killers in this game who can camp effectively, leaving no counterplay for the survivors: these are Cannibal and Hillbilly, only on account of the instadown. And the only one who can effectively tunnel is Pyramid Head IF you run into his Trail of Torment, since he can then skill decisive/power struggle and other saving perks entirely.
Tbh I feel like this last update awoke some sort of sense of entitlement on survivors who now come to the forums, not even Reddit anymore for some reason, to complain about the slightest, easily manageable and completely counterable things. Camp/Tunnel might not be easily counterable and not a "slight problem" but it sure as hell is easily manageable by the least coordinated of teams. Hell, even by solos who played the game longer than a day.
