  • If i get to choose only one:
Small game. I get rid of all totems in no time and screws all those killers running noed, ruin or other hex totems. Almost all killers are running, at least, one of those at rank 1.
Also it's really handy against the trapper or the hag (if you have a flashlight).

I said it before. The hatch rewards the losing team with a free undeserved win.
There is no such mechanism for killers which could get a free kill if they screw up. Why have it for survivors?
This is the only game that rewards little timmy for failing.

Just stop, it's not a reward for losing but a reward for doing some of the required objectives or did you forget the lore part of the Entity? The entity feeds on the hope of the survivors, if they have no hope of escaping it can't feed plain and simple.

If 3 survivors screw up while 1 person does 2 or more gens that person didn't screw up plain and simple, if 1 person hides the entire match it happens rarely. You all need to stop complaining about not getting a free 4th kill.

Now don't go denying that isn't what this is about when in in fact it is, you want that free 4th kill that you didn't earn because you didn't kill them. You don't deserve that 4th kill unless you earned it by you know killing them plain and simple.

Also how is it a win for the losing team if 3 of them died, a win is zll 4 survivors get out or did logic change because certain killers want it too?

If someone gets out they didn't fail hence they get rewarded for getting out, failing would ,mean all 4 get sacrificed, not just 3.I'll give you a quote from an old but great movie.

" I once told you, Ryan, if only one gets out, it's a victory."

So no the game isn't rewarding anyone for failure, it's rewarding someone for actually making it out alive. Oh and before you start on the failure part again let me hit you with some logic here.

If 2 survivors make it out and 2 don't does that mean you as a killer failed or that the 2 that made it out failed because they lived?

Why is the killer the only one who feels pressured during the whole match?
Shouldn't it be the other way around? Being the killer the power role?
    @Tsulan
I've been thinking about that for a long time and i think i got it.
I've noticed that most people don't mind dying as much as not killing a especific survivor or all 4, and the only reason that comes to my mind is that, as a survivor, it is "expected" to die because the only thing u can do is to escape, while as a killer, since u have the ability to remove survivors from the match u feel frustrated when you can't. So basically it's a personal issue.
Btw, do you really think that last survivors don't feel pressure when looking for the hatch?

Thats what most killer mains do when they blame the game's balance instead of their skills
This is where your actual arguement ended and the killer/survivor bias started showing.
Saying that current servers are fine is killer biased to begin with, since killers are the one who host and don't have to go through laggy matches as often as survivors.
I'm pretty sure that if someone is in a game that has both options, like L4D2, no one picks "local servers" because obvious reasons (unless they want to play with mods).
As someone who plays both but mainly survivor, no, it's unfortunate that lagswitching is a thing at all, let alone one sided, and the occasional "I should have not been hit" happens. But its consistent. I dont make those plays anymore because I know how the hitboxes are, and that even a meter of distance off can down me because its killer server based. I wont go for a pallet drop or a vault if I'm not SURE I have the room and account for possible "lag".

They're not perfect at all, but they're consistent and tolerable unless you get all sweaty every game for max bp. Even at rank 1 it's not the thing that causes most problems. Hook farming and bond leads are more problematic imo.

NTM you can see killer ping in pre lobby....
Yeah but this thread is about dedicated servers, i already complained about hook farmers in another thread.
They can be tolerable sometimes, but that doesnt mean they shouldnt improve it, same way they fixed many other issues with the game.
About the ping in the lobby... I wish i could trust that, but we all know that you can get lag spikes even when ping is green, and some of them suspiciously convenient for the killer.
It was about dedicated servers then turned into the normal killer vs survivor bias. Dedicated servers would be nice, but would only open more lagging to all sides, and more unseen issues we may not even know could be a problem.

The "killer side lag that can be dealt with dedicated servers" isnt so bad as to cause more problems with the game, imo. Like I said, it's unfortunate when it happens, if someone lag switches to hell and back, but when it's just inches of space or a half second of an animation that the killer lag caused, its not that bad. When I first started this game I complained a LOT about "lag". Then I learned to play around the minuscule problems that occur.

And yeah, I get lag spikes from green ping, but it's either very seldom and non problematic, or such obvious lag switching I just die on first hook and move on.
How can dedicated servers be nice and open more lagging to all sides at the same time?
Dedicated servers exist for a logical reason, they are way less problematic than local servers.
I still don't understand why this game was designed for local servers...

If you played as a survivor more often yoi would know it's not that easy.

I always dodge red ping, but even with green ping you still get lag spikes sometimes.

Play as a survivor for a straight month and tell me how was it.

You're speaking to someone with over 2,200 hours and I play both killer AND survivor at rank 1 every reset. I know clearly how the game play is.

    Lol at that entitlement.
If you know then i don't get why you say " Doesn't really seem that much of an issue at all ".
Either you ignore it or just wanna have it easier as a killer and take advantage of that issue.

It's not entitlement. You said and I quote, "If you played as a survivor more often yoi would know it's not that easy."

You said I didn't have experience and I showed otherwise. All I did was provide a rebuttable to your argument and you didn't like that.

I say, " Doesn't really seem that much of an issue at all ", because it's not. If you played the game more you'd agree. The entitlement is you blaming lag many times instead of excepting your mistakes, which is why I also already said, " A lot of the time people just blame lag when they don't think something should have landed."

Instead of accepting your own mistakes? Thats what most killer mains do when they blame the game's balance instead of their skills
Same way as you, i've been playing both roles at rank 1 every month for 2 years and i can tell that you just need one month to realize that lag creates too many unfair situations towards survivors in this game, if u want to ignore it then it's your problem.
Of course servers are not a problem for killers since they are the ones who host.

Rocket league has servers for different regions and lets you choose in which ones you wanna queue
Yes, but server lags are still a thing. For example, a killer hits a survivor, but it doesn't register a hit since the server didn't recieve a packet that resulted in a hit due to some lag. Something like struggling on the hook will need to change too, but it constantly needs to send data registering the struggle, a few misses, and you're dead.
Dedicated servers are always less laggy than local servers. If someone lags that hard with dedicated servers maybe online games aren't for them.
I already die while struggling because of killer's internet sometimes and get hit 2 meters away from the window as well. Dedicated servers would be more fair for everyone, not just for one side of the game.
  • For example?
Biggest issue when it comes to dedicated server is DDoS attacks.

#1. Imagine, its a nice Holiday season, the developers are on a well-deserved vacation, and there's a DDoS attack on the server. That's it then. 'Cannot connect to server' for days together.

#2. The Maintenance. There will probably need to be a maintenance day every week, where the game will be down for a few hours once a week. Not much of inconvenience, but still.

#3. Server Lags. Since the servers will be based where BHVR is located, i.e. Canada, player logging in from the countries far away in the east, middle east, will still have lags due to high ping.

#4. Hardware issues. Every game I have played with a dedicated server, has had atleast a hardware issue once where the game is down for multiple days together.

In the end, like I said, dedicated servers maybe better, but it's still not a perfect system, and has its own cons too.
Rocket league has servers for different regions and lets you choose in which ones you wanna queue
  • "ReMoVe tHE hATcH" says the triggered killer main who doesn't know he has to slug if wanna increase the chances of getting 4K.

You've basically just said that you'd camp any survivor that knows how to play the game.

Everyone has their own lines as a Killer that basically mean your ass is getting camped if you cross them. It’s irritating behavior like noise abuse, teabagging and blatant overeager altruists for me. If you’re literally buzzing around me like an insect waiting for a hook save you can’t protest getting swatted. I personally like running high tier Iron Grasp on some Killers so I have a few more seconds to slug the pests while on my way to the hook. Once it’s been established that that’s the kind of game you want to play, why would you expect anything else? 😒

Hmm... last night I punished an overeager altruist group. I was having a complete trash game on my end, and I didn't get my first hook until 2 gens left. My 2nd hook came after the exit gates were powered.

I ended up with a 4k because they all swarmed for the save and got slugged.

    Sometimes it works against them.

This is how pro survivors deal with campers

I was playing solo and i know for sure that the other Feng and Kate were playing solo as well since they got into the lobby in different times.

this is clearly fake, as a survivor you must run DS, Sprint Burst & selfcare, this video is clearly manufactured in some video editing software

I personally don't need moris to slow down the match's progress.
  • I'll camp if you're body blocking other survivors, ratting out other survivors, farming survivors. Overall if you are being a douche to the other survivors, I'm going to camp you.

    Thank you @BigBadPiggy
I don't camp because it's more important to me to keep the map pressure, but if someone unhooks a survivor when i'm close or right in front of me (unless gates are open and survivor has BT, that's understandable) i'm gonna tunnel really hard that "rescuer".
  • Who?
  • Imagine if the killers have a perk that when they lose a survivor they trigger a skill check and if they successfully hit it they are teleported to the suv and he gets insta downed. Sounds ridiculous? well. exactly that is decisive strike. It doesnt need a buff or nerf, it needs to be removed or completly reworked.

They should also promote smart gameplay instead of simple actions. Unhooking, for instance, should give 250 bps and safe unhook 1250.

I completely agree that the Safe unhook should be the higher reward to avoid farming, but I can already taste the incoming salt from that change, because a lot of local farmers will have to stop running We're Gonna Live Forever, and instead will need to go to FarmersOnly, com in order to find people they can F***

    @PoppaSquat
These farmers can quit the game if they don't like it, would do a favour to the rest of the community.
  • All italian killers camp and tunnel really hard.
  • This would be my reaction if that happened to me:

I'm the kind of player who enjoys skills and organized playstyle more than just winning. Don't get frustrated because of that, it's just a game.

  • There's another bug with adrenaline, if adrenaline activates right when the pick up animation starts you'll get healed but u'll remain on the ground, being able to "run" while crawling.

    Hatch gives 5000 + 2000
5000 in Survival, 2000 in Objective.
It makes no difference to Survivors who did most of the generators, but it’s a free 2k for the ones who hid around the map and did nothing to earn it.

    Bragging rights for either, apparently.
    @Judgement
Idk how often you get paired with that kind of teammates, but i rarely see someone doing nothing waiting for the hatch. Anyway, if that is a common problem a good solution would be that the hatch only opens if there are at least 2 gens done AND that survivor earned a especific amount of bps, bps from unhooks would count only if they were safe unhooks, etc.
  • The hag can get 3K at least in almost every match without perks nor addons at rank 1 if you know how to use her, i tested it myself. So yeah, totally worth it.

Maybe because this game shouldn't rely on offerings in order to balance it.

If something needs to be changed is the chance of getting ultra rare addons, lower it for both killers and survivors.

But the latency is indeed a problem, so is her hitbox. I gotta upload a video of her hitting me when i was behind and literally 2 meters away from her.

I think a lot of players just want instant gratification without putting in much effort at all.

Gone are the days where players would play a game with only a small handful of lives and a continue and play over and over practicing until they can win.

Some Players these days either can't admit that they need to practice to get better at the game or have this need to be fulfilled every time they pick up the game pad. I guess it's why some games have difficulty options.

    My 2 cents.

    @CornChip
You described perfectly the kind of players who complain over and over on these forums.
Although i admit that this game still needs small tweaks in favour of especific killers, like leatherface, i think it's quite balanced and there are many "issues", especially coming from killers, that would get fixed if they tried to get better, use the full potential of each killer and learn from their mistakes instead of blaming the game.

Btw, good example the one about the old games, i still remember how hard was to finish Alex Kidd.
