  • Here are multiple possible dates:

Tomorrow: It would have been 2 weeks since the ptb which is when they (usually) Release patches (they said that it isn't always going to be consistent, but so far it has been almost always 2 weeks.)

Wednesday: Even though it would be a very strange time, apparently, that is the date given by leaks by daylight, so take that as you will.

    Thursday: The other possible time

Next week Tuesday or Thursday: It would likely be this if something went wrong.

(Tuesday and Thursday is "update" time for consoles.)

everyone screaming nerfs at everything lets just make them unable to attack, they just have to watch us do gens and escape. game is unfun and unbalanced if everyone cant escape 100% of the time obviously this needs to happen...

honestly...that would be the ONLY change the devs are willing to make for killers.

Yeah one thing I hope with this ruin change is the new builds people will be trying out.

There will be a little more variety of builds, but there will be less variety of killers.

  • As a semi-formal doctor main, i say that is they reduce the therapy cooldown to 1 or at the very least 2 seconds, and reduce the blast to around 50-45 seconds, this rework can be pretty good.

(also to add 2 addons for the reverse skillchecks.

Peanits is right about this. We've played with the new Ruin (and tested it with some external expert players), and it is much more powerful than it sounds on paper (or in forum pixels, as the case may be). :)

This is the same guy that said that legions detection range add-ons is not useless...

  • The devs basically removed like 4 killers from the game with this change.

"But clearly, 99% of the time, killers are crying about an issue that doesnt exist"

That's an issue that goes for both sides not only killers.

I omay both sides (you can check yt for evidence) and i personally think gen speeds are still on a bit of a high side.

I even had games where i keot pressuring the survivors and still 3 gens poped really fast.

Yeah they had toolboxes and at least 1 had prove thyself.

And i had franklins demise and ruin still up and still the 3 gens popped in about 2 minutes or less.

Sure i got them all 4 eventually with them not getting another gen.

But still, you can pressure them a lot and still the gens can go very fast.

I think the big issue is that the devs are trying to make the game appeal to the most amount of people as possible, and try to make everyone happy.

It doesn't have to be niche (I can't think of a good example related to this game, so ill just say Space Station 13 as a very niche title, aka for very certain types of players), but they have to either make separate modes(longer waiting, but more consistent matches), make it appeal more towards new players (different influx of people to dedicate to the game) or veteran players (little to no new players, but veterans have more of an incentive to stay).

I can't make the choice for them, but I want to know what you guys think.

Last Year has MANY differences with DBD though, not just the objective. That game's maps are all centered towards linear goal points as opposed to just providing a sort of open arena. Last Year is also more focused on watching each other's backs and encourages the survivors to stick together due to having actual combat with the killer, while DBD is more of a cat and mouse game since survivors dont have a way of fighting the killer in this game.

One difference that I think is interesting though is the killer's map travel in Last Year. Last Year's killers arnt likely to be spotted actually WALKING from one end of the map to the other. Could be interesting to maybe employ something similar in DBD.

I didn't say they were the same, but I agree that maybe the killer should have a certain percent speed boost when not in a chase (I would also say no survivors in the terror radius, but that would just add in a built-in whisperers so I don't know how to properly incorporate it in the game without obvious work arounds, also the "not-in-chase" thing could be abused easily but you should know what I mean, ask me if you don't).

  • I think instead of trying to fix gen speeds, they should just get rid of gens and put in more involved and more fair objective(s).

Last Year isn't perfect, but at least they know to put in objectives that isn't just "press m1 for 60 seconds than leave".

But whatever, white knights will say anything deny any problems with the game.

Tbh, I hate when survs gen rush me... but when I play surv, bet your booty I'm gonna do these gens asap lol

To me, a gen rush happens naturally to a killer when they dont apply enough pressure. That's not the survs fault. That's the killers fault... and I'm a killer main lol

most killers can't put on pressure. yea, I lost while playing clown and leatherface because i wasn't pressuring enough, sure.

Say whatever you want to deny that there are no problems with the game, the exact same mindset as the devs (remember the "just play Civ 5" meme?)

  • @Ratatosk said:

Very unpopular opinion, I know about 90% or so of everyone who sees this will be against me, but I personally don't think that "gen-rushing" exists. The survivors just do generators, as they're supposed to do, but sometimes they get them done really quick because the killer doesn't apply pressure. That's either the fault of the person playing the killer because they're either focusing one survivor or they refuse to get in chases for more than 15 seconds, or the fault of the character because many killers have poor map pressure. Then you take into account the map you're in, and that factors either way as well. The point is, I believe that "gen-rushing" isn't an actual thing, it's just what killers (and even some survivors) say when they don't put pressure on gens, either on purpose or because of their character.

I play both sides evenly, so don't come at me with the whole "survivor main myeh" bull.

Does that mean gens getting done fast doesn't exist either?

  • Isn't ironic how all of this is happening, and they tried to do the same thing with Deathgarden, which resulted in the game ACTUALLY GETTING KILLED.

(basically saying they haven't learned from their mistakes, i know DBD team didn't make Deathgarden, but they still definitely looked at it from the sidelines, and do something so it doesn't happen again.)

Just like you accomplish nothing by making a post like this.

    Exactly! You're starting to understand!

  • Ah yes... It seems that some people don't know that what their saying is a wasted effort...

"DBD would be dead if SWFs is changed!" Yes, because every successful game in existence has SWF...of course.

"You are such a child!", Because i'm telling the truth?...interesting.

I can tell people just glanced at the post and was required by LAW to respond, Nobody wants to use their braincells in forums.

  • They LIERALLY nerfed 5 killers in the past 3 months, and about to nerf doctor (they call it buff but from the leaks they seem like their buffing the killer for survivors)

What did they do for survivors? Gave them a OP map and the ability to pick up pallets (yes, they got rid of insta-heals but THAT was truly OP, being able to deny killers almost 1 minute of time.) Also survivors have like 8 second chance perks, while killers only have, maybe 2.

The statistics are also very vague too, As they don't count for suicides and DCs.

Maybe the game is not that is't killer sided, but more that you need to get better at the game instead of saying "every killer op plz nerf".

survivors don't have to win every game.

  • I'm looking at it on both sides. i consider it gen rushing if the game ends in 6-7 minutes (that may not sound like gen rushing, but in a normal match, that's like a blink of an eye!) And what comes out of it? A killer that lost miserably with little bps, and survivors having a very boring game with little bps.

But what ever you think of this, i'm happy we are at least trying to be civil about it, instead of childish bickering(for the most part).

  • But none of what you guys said disprove me. Every killer can be countered by gen rushing.

First of all, I didn't specify what I mean by gen rushing.

Second, people have been screaming for longer gen time for years now, the devs done nothing about it now, they never will.

Do you guys thing that your concept of tunneling and camping MIGHT, at least a little bit, be screwed up? Because the killer decided to say for a few seconds by the hook to check for survivors isn't camping, and the killer going after an injured survivor over a healthy survivor isn't tunneling either.

But whatever, cancel culture is a thing because people like to act smart about things they don't have any idea about (not saying i'm better, or over it).

  • Their should be an option in the main menu to change between prioritizing either balanced matches or quick matches.

  • This game is survivor sided because that is the bigger playerbase

    They don't care

  • Delete your game. Not worth it

  • Abuse in any game is frustrating.

Poeple will continue to be toxic until they fix their game(which they wont)

Would your experience be any different if you had stumbled across 2 fully healed survivors instead? If this survivor had healed to 100 instead of 99, and finish the 1 later, would it have changed the outcome?

No, but you did not know that the survivor was 99 percent.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/861678#Comment_861678

No. It's not necessary. Learn to adapt. That's literally what survivors are doing to a big nerf. You just don't want to do you want a further nerf.

That is understandable, but imagine this: You are a killer, and find 2 survivors, 1 healthy and 1 injured. It is at a point in the match that you really need to start sacrificing survivors. You go after the injured survivor for, say 30 seconds. You both are at a loop, and you are almost right behind the survivor. You wait a tiny bit for dead hard, but instead, the survivor completes healing by tapping the button, you hit the survivor, and is basically given a sprint burst, and if you decide to continue the chase, the survivors may waste a lot of time.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

No thanks. It was literally just nerfed I'm not sure why you think it deserves to be nerfed even further. If you see someone pop their medkit you can simply wait 8 seconds to hit them. If they do it right before you see them then they took a gamble and it paid off.

It is literally very small. But, if you REALLY need something for compensation, then all healing actions could be reduced by 1-2 seconds,

Think longer. The event itself only rewards extra BP. The stuff for unlocking cosmetics is in the rift. We are talking weeks here.

And also makes the abysmally quick generators even quicker because everyone wants their serums to unlock hindering cosmetics, basically reducing this game from "how can I win this game" to "how much can i commit property theft and rub it into the opposite team's emotionless face"

  • @Mtom912 said:

Sacrifice encourages 3 hooking survivors, so it discourages camping & tunneling, it’s really not hard to max sacrifice, end game hooks make it easier so you don’t even have to 4k to get 32k bp

You must be very lucky, or I must be very unlucky because i very rarely get 8k sacrifice BPS. I have an easier time getting 4k and all iridescent emblems than getting the BPS for sacrifice.

(while this does nothing to the discussion, I play killer and survivor equally if you wanted to know)

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/767263#Comment_767263

Then why can't Survivor see the username of the Killer? Oh right because it promotes toxicity and Lobby dodging and bullying and a host of other problems. So stop acting like your username is a prerequisite to play an online game. There are games that Shield your username or provide you the option to create an in-game display name. It's clearly an issue, this topic has come up many times before. There's no reason for the killer to see the usernames of the survivors in the lobby. And that's great that you never experienced that, but would you happen to be an exceptional player you do get targeted a lot. And this game is not even, this isn't like Call of Duty or Destiny.

Did you ever think that survivors lobby dodge because of OTHER survivors, or what about ping, nobody wants to have a laggy game.

(also, I know this goes against the post, and I don't want you to think i'm bashing you down but isn't there much more pressing issues, like promoting anti-toxicity, so your username problem doesn't mean anything?)

  • @Nicholas said:

To clarify I mean our usernames, not the character itself. I don't care if a killer knows I'm playing Steve but I do care if a killer knows my name is Nicholas.

Then who cares? Do you believe that a PUBLIC ONLINE GAME, should not be PUBLIC? Because that is what i'm getting.

If you are going to play an online game, then don't be surprised that usernames will be used.

(While I cannot confirm this, but due to personal experiences, I VERY RARELY get "sniped", or get tunneled/camped because I played with someone last game.)

  • Because the killer is in much more need to know their opponent than survivors. Survivors generally can do well with most/any killer if they know what their doing, but the killer has to deal with 4 survivors while survivors have to deal with 1 killer. If the killer does not know who the survivors are, then killer would be much more weak than they already are, and survivors must not know who the killer is, because if they do, then they can make an OP broken build to counter the killer, making the game much more unbalanced than it already is.

I understand where you are coming from, but also some of the problems you point out can also be done even if the killer does not know what their going against.

TL:DR survivors are much more flexible naturally than killer. (also it kind of ruins the point of the game, to survive against unpredictable odds. Remember, this is still a horror game, even if you are not scared.)

  • It's things like this that makes the game look stupid.

  • @Nutty_Professor said:

As a survivor main I disagree that referring to a survivor as a try hard just means that they are of a higher skill level then you.

I consider myself a good survivor but I like to mess about and have fun, I still get called toxic by killers for my mess about playstyle. What I consider a try hard survivor is something who takes the game too seriously, plays just to win and not to have fun. I find these survivors unfun to play with in SWF.

For example I know someone who I consider a try hard, he takes the game too seriously, I only have him as a friend so I know when to avoid playing with one of my DBD friendship groups. I wouldn't say he's a better survivor than me, it's just I find him unfun to play with.

    @oxygen said:

Hard to tell when you don't explain what you mean by "tryhard". To some people it's ascended 5000 hour turboloopers, to others it's people that dare bring an item that's green or better. To me it's more about people that tilt/trash talk too easily and act like they're playing for a million dollars than their gameplay on its own, for example.

There's people with varying levels of "serious" in all ranks. And that includes everything from playstyle to perk/item loadouts.

For clarification, what I mean by tryhards are survivors that use keys and insta-heal medkits, getting gens done as quick as they can.

And yes, I know killers can be tryhards as well, but, at least for me, there are MUCH less tryhard killers than tryhard survivors (of course there are more survivors than killers, but I mean more "full" tryhard survivors than tryhard killers.

    (tryhard word count: 7)

  • @Liruliniel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/89885/closing-the-hatch

    Lol no that's stupid.

Survivors start the trial with 5 gens and a combined team of 4.

This means hatch spawns with all 5 gens done or equal to the remaining survivors minus the gens needed to be done.

Failure results in hatch opening. Sure it might of been your team who failed, but reality is that your part of this failure.

Hatch is closed. Door is now available to be opened. Again another chance for a survivor to get a undeserved win.

Each new stage is harder and unlikely to happen. Accept it and move on like killers had to accept that hatch auto spawns for last survivor. So no matter how good of a killer job you did you can be punished for it now.

Also, survivors can have keys, while killers cannot undo a completed generator.

If you did not bother to look for for an unopened hatch which at that point, you would have plenty of time to do so, than you deserve a harder time at escaping.

  • Playing killer

    gets demolished by toxic SWFs

I say: do you think playing like this is fun?

SWFs (in slightly various ways but it boils down to): Yes it is N* * * * *.
