Imagine the game having all white survivors, and they finally added a non-white one. While the game should have had it at first, finally having that representation would mean so much for the part of the player base that is non-white.
Comments like this are gross but of course, you don't see that.
Imagine being represented as either as a serial killer that cannot be stopped, or a weak and feeble survivor that can't do anything for themselves. I feel like no matter what will happen, people will be pissed anyways. (I'm not against an LGBT+ character being added in, i'm just showing that nobody can be properly represented in ANY media.)

Imagine being livid over a word.

No? People speculate the char might be LGBT because the colors in the teasers match up with certain colors that represent bisexuality or transsexuals AND because there is an LGBT+ char being confirmed to come which was stated by the devs in June AND because of what you said.
but it’s only speculation..
While what you said may be the idea the devs might have, but another possibility is that the devs said they WANT to add an LGBT+ character, they didn't straight up confirmed it. I see those colors everywhere, wherever it's K-pop (the inspiration the devs seem to have with this chapter) some gaming youtube channel, most people that record themselves who have bright lights around them usually use the typical neon colors that you see on stuff like keyboards. It's used because it's (in theory) appealing to the eyes.
I'm not discrediting anyone, I just don't want people think that it is 100% true, AKA, it's fine for people to put ideas in their head, but I don't want anyone to cement it into their heads as fact, because if it turns out to be something different, then people will be very disappointed, or even mad at something that the devs didn't even (fully) promised.
(I'm not against anyone in the LGBT+ community, I want those people to be represented as well, but it's healthy to always keep an opened mind to things, instead of building it up to unrealistic expectations that no human can achieve easily)
-
Let me remind you, people are calling this person part of the LGBT+ community because this person is a little bit larger than usual, and have a slightly smaller chest size, despite NOTHING being confirmed.
-
Personally, I don't care what they do. If they are LGBT+, cool. If they are not, that's fine. It's just that, if this person isn't LGBT+, then I hope that the forums don't turn into people bitching about it for a week straight.
-
The light is coming from behind that person, so the light would go though the spaces by their neck, and would cast shadows either down below the neck, or upwards above the neck. If you know how shadows work, you can clearly tell it's a shadow, not a mustache.
People are building up so much hype with theories with fuzzy images, that they will have their own personal ideas cloud their minds to being true, then no matter what will happen, they will be inevitably disappointed.
I'm not against an LGBT+ character by any means, it's just don't go in expecting the character to be LGBT+ by default, as there are no direct clues about it, only guesses.
(remember how people thought the character would be a werewolf by a shadow, but it was the blight wearing a cloak?)

Throwing out a random Idea. Assuming this is a killer bait-and-switching as a survivor, what if they are not even human? What if they are an android created by a company to be a social star, but later goes haywire and starts killing people? It would explain the glitched DBD logo. Just a random unique idea I had.

Why are people still go on the forums to announce that they are leaving? I mean just leave. This may sound a little sad/slightly harsh, but not everyone cares about your status. I'm just saying I personally find it pointless.

I didn't create a forum post with Captain Obvious level observations with the intent of insulting survivors under the guise of communicating both sides of the discussion. Quality comeback bro. 👌🏻
I'm not trying to 1-up you, it's just that the fact you start off your response by causing someone for being biased, which everyone is, then get pissed because "nothing new is being said". If you are tired of it, then don't read it!
(Also, You can't really say anything new for something that has remain relatively unchanged for years. Then again, that's what you get when the devs say they consider community feedback. People will constantly give feedback, no matter how much it is regurgitated back again and again.)

OP: You sound like a killer main and have heavily biased your post. Your observations are trash and not reflective of the actual discussions that have been going on. Its like getting your friend to go ask everyone's opinion of the new donut at the bakery and them coming back and saying, "Well, some people liked it and some didn't". You barely peered over the surface of the debate and anyone could have given that answer.
"You are not allowed to be biased in a place that is all about sharing your biases, while I show my own bias because I'm doing it and not you". Do you not know what forums are my guy?

well like i said this forum tend to be killer based. I think right now after DS nerf and undying nerf we could agreed on it.
Survivor didnt complain as much as killer regarding DS nerf than killer complaining about Undying nerf.
You are acting like killers are a hive mind that thinks in the same way as all of the others. You need to realize that all people are biased by nature, and not all of a group thinks the same way.

Locker tech is still bullshit and needs to go
Having a survivor essentially out of the game for a full minute is bullshit? If a survivor attempts to jump in a locker, then leave them alone, either they heal or work on a gen, instantly disabling the perk and then chase after them again, or they do actually nothing so they can use the perk that they will most likely not be able to pull off if the killer has basic common sense. After the change, I see no problem with the perk.
-
The DS change is (almost) exactly what I wanted it to be! Even if they do hide in a locker, are they able to do anything else if they want that D S V A L U E? DS always should JUST be an anti-tunnel perk, not an anti-losing perk.
Also, the OoO change is just alright in my opinion. MUCH better, but it won't completely remove the annoying factor of it, but now it will be more of a mild annoyance than a frustrating match ender depending what killer you played as like it was before.

The game haven't sees a single, at least the smallest bug fix patch for the 3 whole weeks. Even an extremely small hot fix patch that could contain reduced Elodie audio and fixed trap-Pallet in Father Campbell Chapel would be highly appreciated.
Again, I am very glad the mid-chapter is not here yet, bcs it might be broken, but the absence of any patch for 3 whole weeks in live-version Dead by Daylight makes me, as a player, feel forgotten, even though it is not true.
You are way too hopeful and optimistic. My theory is that they are spending that extra time putting in more colorblind options so people would shut up about it, seeing it from their side of things. It's messed up that it took a dev member saying something stupid on stream for the accessibility team to do something about it, because if they didn't, it makes them look really bad. (I mean, judging by the fact it took them a week after release to get victor to grab on lockers, formerly a very easy hard counter to a killer, shows that they don't think very much ahead and does things on the spot, just my theory, it may or may not be true)
-
I'm pretty sure either they increased it by another week from now on (which mean ptb for next updates would be a measly 2 weeks after full release, so it wouldn't make sense to delay any longer for their update cycle), or it's because they wanted to finish the colorblindness options so people will stop bothering them about it.

I can relate to the Dead Hard one. Dead Hard used really well is obnoxious, it's like a free mistake.
But for me my pet peeve would probably be when I'm survivor, and I take the killer on a very long chase and 0 gens get done in the entire time. Like what can the other 3 survivors even possibly be doing?
I know it's not against the rules, so I can't really blame them that much, but dead harding in the open requires skill and gives you a mini second chance as a reward, not as a failsafe (cough cough DS cough cough). Dead harding into a window or a pallet requires little to no skill for a bigger reward, that's my problem. Once again, not mad at people who do that, it's just annoying to me personally.
-
This is just another tiny battle during the major global war of the survivor main vs the killer mains. Nobody will agree on anything in this thread, even if we do agree, will the devs do something about it? why even bother anymore? This game is just a lost cause.

The same person asked the same question over and over again. His stream states "Opinions expressed are not necessarily those of Behaviour or the DbD design team." End of discussion, the person harrassing him is in the wrong, and that should have been the end of it, but no, entitled people and victim culture are playing out directly in front of us.
I'm pretty sure it's more than just one person, and it happened way before the stream, just a little more, something about...hmm... 5 YEARS ago perhaps? If your team claims that they "listen for feedback from the community", then prepare to get feedback from the community. it's like trash in your room, the longer you wait to do something about it, the more it keeps piling on. Should a game NOT have accessibility options? Should people NOT have the ability to enjoy a game?

There's a very stark difference between asking about a topic, and repeatedly asking someone about it that doesn't control said topic, on their personal time, after having been told an answer several times.
I'm sorry to say this, but not everyone is omnipresent (shocker). Maybe instead of building the frustration up of multiple people asking constantly the same thing, maybe they should have said on their social media: "We are working on colorblindness options, and it should be ready within the next few months. We apologize for not going into much details, but this allows us to be more flexible of the options we have". It's not perfect, but maybe being transparent with your playerbase, even if it leads to more frustration, is better than making the entire company you work for look bad.

Being downed under a hooked person's a terrible idea, lets the killer camp two people at once.
I don't know if you're expecting the almighty hand of BHVR to sense your plight and personally reach into your game, pluck him out before your very eyes and dump him into the banned bucket, but report him for exploiting and move on.
not only that, but you the killer could not have picked him up, because the hooked survivor was in the way. It's just just a dick move, it's an actual exploit.
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
What?
I was a survivor who witnessed another survivor holding a killer in pallets, using the "downed under a hooked survivor" exploit, and generally be toxic, to the point where the killer DCed, and the survivor's response is to say "lets gooooooo", i responded "######### did you do that?", he then responds "it's fun to bully baby killers". The most messed us part is that i've seen this happen multiple times for years.

He was so powerful before in chase. Instant reloads now means he can spam bottles almost all the time now with no penalty to poor use of the bottles. Bad clowns have been pampered. And high mobility on top of it all when playing in his own gas! A bad clown can win a majority of undeserved games now. Similiar to the new bubba that doesn't care when he starts his saw because he knows it can last for an eternity.
3 second reload needs to go back to 5.
ill take the bait so nobody else takes it.

Maybe I am slightly paranoid about it, but I just think they should adjust accordingly. I just don't think it's the right direction to go with him. it wouldn't make much sense to constantly throw bottles at the floor or wherever to get across the map quicker. Once you get there you already most likely have to reload. And by that time they are going to be running. I just don't see it working for gen pressure. Even if there is addons to go with it.
I mean...they are off the gens at that point...are they? They are not progressing at that point. That is the meaning of gen pressure. Another good thing to keep in mind is to plan your approach. Yes, they will start running and you will most likely need to reload, but if you approach them to where they are slightly cornered, they will have to run around you (at a distance), where they are more focusing on not being cornered, and unable to get much distance on you. For killers, it is generally better to run them to a corner, then into the "open" (as in it is better to run them into "less map/areas" than into "more map/areas").
But hey, we haven't tried him yet, so lets wait and see. I'm just putting my 2 cent into this.

So this is my first time posting a discussion here. I usually just comment on things, but as someone who's a clown main, and has been maining him for a few months now. I have to say this is probably the worse possible buff they could think of. Clown in general is not a weak killer. People just generally don't know how to use him. I think that they could've done something else that gave him map pressure, because a really good clown player knows that you can use a single bottle on a full loop, and it's going to be covered pretty much completely. If you have to use more than 2 bottles on a loop you messed up bottle placement. I don't understand what they were thinking when they came up with this supposed "buff" Why would you want to use something that can benefit survivors. Sure you can have one bottle here and one bottle there, but you pretty much never need 2 bottles ever on a loop. Clown needed something that gave him more map pressure. Something on the side, not another bottle change. Unless they fix the way these new bottles work. I can pretty much say it's going to be a waste of time to even use them in the first place, and his pink bottles will still be the way to go, because the movement speed isn't going to get him map pressure, and having to reload already mitigates that fact that if you use them to get across the map it's going to be useless.
you can use the antidote out of chase for more gen pressure, even with the reload (which is shorter), plus you are not even considering the addon pass which will (most likely) make it much more powerful. I think you are just day 1 paranoid right now.
-
keys hasn't been nerfed yet (or maybe they are silent about it so survivors don't spam them for the mid-chapter, even though the already do) That's my biggest problem for the killer side of things.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Really curious what they do balance-wise to The Game. IMO one of the worst Maps in the game, it starts being pretty survivor-sided when it comes to Pallets and shifts to killer-sided once the Pallets are gone in an area, since there are mostly Pallets to work with for the Survivors. Simply super-boring gameplay for both sides.
huh? Someone that considers BOTH sides and not just ONE side for balance? I thought it would never happen! Finally, a reasonable person
-
Clown is a million times worse. At least the legions power does something that changes the match, instead of having a power that slows survivors down, but has a very long reload that requires you to move at survivor crouching pace, to the point it counters itself out.
-
Trust me, they will cry all the way til Sunday once they nerf keys next mid-chapter, because they can't live their power fantasies. Had a SWF call me a camper, because another survivor was looping me near the shack. like, bruh, should i have left for you to win? I tried staying by an exit gate an entire match so they can win with nothing stopping them, and then the survivors survivors got pissed. WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Survivors will never be pleased. Won't you please excuse me, ill just enjoy my 1k and leave it at that, or if i'm playing survivor, if i die, ill accept it and move on.
"It's always the killers fault" seems less like an comedic exaggeration, and more like an understatement to how some survivor players legitimately think because they don't like to admit they're wrong. Enjoy the game, or find something to do to make you playing fun. If you don't, play something else, rather than beg the dev team to do something for you because YOU refuse to recognize your mistakes and improve because of it, or play killer and play how you want to play if you want killers to play like you want it to be (don't worry, you'll be told off by them sooner or later)
-
a streamer finds something boring, and people treats them as sacred. I love Otz, but I don't unironically worship him/let him tell me what my opinions are. Players have a voice too.
-
Yes, it is an exploit, You use your own PC as an in-game weapon to punish the killer unfairly. This isn't fair, and I think if the second to last person alive dcs, then they should get an extra long DC penalty (2x or even 3x the penalty). I also think the problem should be addressed in match somewhat, like a 15-20 second block timer for the survivor (or maybe a 5-10 second block timer for the survivor, but the killer is notified to the location of the hatch?).
-
sniff sniff Do you smell that? Smells like the stench of a toxic survivor main.

Keys and moris are NOT comparable. For all 4 survivors to benefit from a key they have to complete all generators. For a 3 escape, you need 4 gens done and the death of another team mate. You have to work all game to achieve a key escape.
The best time to use a key is when you're playing with randos because it's the best counter against garbage team mates who die early.
Both complete you objective faster....They are comparable. Killer kills everyone, survivors need to escape, even if you are the only one to escape through hatch, you still escape nonetheless. Imagine having it where you can only use a key when the gens are done, have a 10 second channeling time, and be the only one to escape period. You are just upset that your precious little keys are next on the chopping block.

Not hating the messenger at all, I want them to show my response to the people who sent the messenger. It's the messengers job to get lumped into a situation, and they know this. Not trying to be mean, or attack the mod, but the balance team needs to learn to be patient sometimes, as if they did that and wait until they change keys, then they wouldn't be in this mess.

hey be nice, they are just the peace keeper, don't pour gasoline on their words and be surprised when you can light them ablaze
Why be nice when the playerbase has been treated like ######### for years? You can't just hug it out in every situation and expect people to change. Yes, it's from the word of a mod, and they are not responsible for the changes, but they are still essentially the messenger, and just like a messenger, they then report back the responses from the message receiver. Nobody ever learns if you baby them all the time.

The mori change was easier to make, since it's basically just a change of a condition. I believe nerfing the keys requires animation changes and/or addon changes, that require much more time.
Easier doesn't mean better. In fact, since you said this, means you just revealed and proved the balance team is super lazy. Oof

There is no bias! Keys are much more difficult to change and this will happen at a future date. The Mori change is adjusting the change in conditions and was much quicker/easier to fix. We have already said that keys would change in the future.
Then why not wait for the key changes as well? You could have held on to the mori changes until you guys get the key changes, especially since this came out of left field, people wouldn't feel lied to if you held on until then. If you guys don't want to look biased, then don't drastically nerf an aspect of one side, while not nerfing an equally as oppressively aspect of the other side at the same time. Because you'd get DS'ed in the face, then you'd come on the forums and complain about it.
You are literally the type of person I was describing in my post. You assume that if a killer get DS stunned, the first thing they do is go to the forums and complain about it. You feed they cycle of toxicity due to ignorance, intentionally or not.
-
This post needs to be seen by everyone, as it perfectly describes the problem that has been leading the cycle of toxicity between both sides, as most people blame the other person for being bad/toxic because they want to ruin other peoples fun, or have to rely on "noob" tactics to win, which is an extremely unhealthy mindset to have in any situation, as it leads to toxic stereotypical generalizations ("All SWF survivors want to make the game miserable, all killers are tunneling campers, all survivors want to play the game in easy mode, all Leatherface players camp, all Claudette players abuse skins for a hiding advantage, all Nea players are toxic, all Spirit players are brainless tryhards, Devs are incompetant, players are stubborn dimwits", for some examples).
We need to work together the best we can to solve the problem the best we can, and it all starts with figuring out the causes of these problems, which you fantastically summarize.
