I don't know why I'm posting this here, but I need to vent to someone, and this community comes to mind.

She died last night, from pneumonia. It was peaceful, and she didn't feel any pain.

I feel like its my fault. I didn't talk to her enough.

Like I said, I'm posting this here because I trust you guys.

You should be posting this in the "non-dbd related" catagory, but i'm sorry for you. MY great-grandmother died last week too, I feel your pain.

Nah, I'm good, I'm good, ta' for the offer.

Now, focus on the topic at hand without derailing from it. After all, this thread ain't about me, it's about...whatever it's about.

I can't derail it, because you can't derail a DS topic, as it will stay on topic until somethings happen to it, and there will always be at least 3-4 posts about it in the recent pages, but I will keep that in mind.

Quite the gain for me. I mean, I just got a reply from you.

you could get more by posting it on reddit, if attention is what you want, i think you would like more than just one person.

  • First of all, grow up. Second of all, what is this supposed to imply? My guess is that your tired of seeing similar post, but instead of ignoring it, you have to make fun of an opinion for...honestly no gain for anyone.

Welp, if DS ate two nerfs and is still meta af, imagine how it was at release. I played against four hook states for a pretty long time.

I'll repeat what I said back with the ruin nerf: Just because they touched DS before, does not mean it should never be looked at/touched again.

  • @Brhoom said:

WTH do DS and Unbreakable have to do with PGTW???

Why is it always the same argument with you guys?

''WAAAAAH they nerfed something, please nerf something from the other side''

    that's called balance

  • their the only survivors a go up against anymore. I wonder why. I totally don't think it's because most of them are bad at this game and need all of the crutches they can get so they can harass killers and solos, taking any sort of fun out of the game and ruining the experience for new players, all the while devs will do nothing about it because they are the main source of income because they think they are super cool by flexing their wasted cash on something pointless because they like leeching their savings from either themselves for their families.

Aka, don't play killer or solo until this bullsh*t gets dealt with. (aka never)

Oh please, mr almighty, please tell me how to get better against a killer that proxy camps and tunnels you right when you get unhooked, and how to play against that without meta perks, because no looping skills will help you there. Play survivor sometime.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1628626#Comment_1628626

A bubba with noed will get 2 kills on average if he face-camps. And if any killer proxy camps, and no one has BT or DS, then no matter how good you can loop, you will always die no matter what. But sure.

And what you described are exhaustion perks. They are something every survivor should have in their build. I was talking about the non-exhaustion meta. And anyway, adrenaline is a very good perk against tunneling and camping too. When it gets activated when you're on a hook, that is.

Don't get caught in the first place 4head!

I bought Dead by Daylight on July 1st, 2019. When I bought the game, I also bought the Halloween chapter, and the Ghostface dlc, because I love both, especially Ghostface. I was also really hyped to be able to play as Sydney Prescott. But Sydney isn't in dbd. And I am sad.

I doubt anything will come of it, but I really think the devs should add Sidney and Woodsboro. I kind of understand releasing Bubba as a killer-only dlc, and I also understand that it may not be possible to include Sidney/Woodsboro because of licencing and whatnot, but it's still sad that Ghostface is all alone in his dlc, when there could be more to go with him.

(also Sidney is best girl, cmm)

If you want something in this game, don't actually look forward to it. If it happens, it would be a nice surprise. If it doesn't you will not feel disappointed. That's my advice for everything in this game.

  • @MrLimonka said:

Survivor meta will change when camping and tunneling is not a thing. Period.

Sorry for being forced to play that way from the devs. I guess ill just sit in a corner all match and take out all of the fun out of the match because it's all my fault that you are having a bad time, not because you are bad and refuse to get better. No it's everyone's fault but me.

  • The weird "sliding drift" is THE thing that makes him feel clunky, and I have no idea why they think it was a good idea. Hillbilly and Oni drifts as well, but it's tied to the camera and movement, not an uneeded mechanic. Gameplay wise, imagine playing the hillbilly, on the DBD equivalent on an ice level, and ice levels in games are notoriously hated by most people. If they make it like the hillbilly, where it's tied to your camera, It will feel much better to control, and make it like the oni, where you can flick during a lunge using your power. It would not be broken since he doesn't insta-down in 98% cases with his power (with his 2% being his ultra-rare add-on, since perks don't affect his power)

I'm not saying he's bad (at least yet), but he still feels clunky to play as, even after all of the adjustments.

Because a lot of people enjoy games visually. People just Last of Us for it's story and visually stunning detail. Imagine if Last of Us was made with roblox/minecraft graphics. Wouldn't be nearly anywhere as popular as it is now.

I'm not saying a game CAN'T have good graphics, i'm saying that a game should put gameplay first before graphics. Cuphead's selling point is that it is animated like a retro 1920's cartoon, but despite that, they focused on making a polished, playable game first, then they made the graphics (yes, I know, there should at least be placeholders when developing a game. You can't make all of the gameplay without knowing what it looks like, that's impossible. I'm not saying the graphics should look the same as looking at video static).

DBD is clearly not polished enough to start looking toward graphics, it's a buggy and un-polished game, most (if not all) people agree on that. I'm not saying DBD is unplayable. I'm not even saying that DBD should NEVER update graphics. I'm saying the BHVR has a big game priority problem.

If you thing it help the immersion of the game...what? As you hit an invisible wall, run around a piece of wood, suffer game lag, having your arms broken in 70 different ways (that is unintentional), a cartoony circle in the middle of the screen, flying 10 miles off the ground, Duplicating yourself into 30 more of the same person, SEEING another person you are playing as, and seeing the same robotic movement over and over again, i'm pretty sure all sense of immersion is lost (and those are just a few examples). Those cannot be fixed with new graphics.

There’s a practical aspect, and a marketing aspect.

If the game wants to stay relevant and acquire new players, especially on the next gen consoles, it has to look better.

Trust me, those players will be turned off in a mere second once they realize how the game is played.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The people who did the graphics will not have anything to do with the Balance of the game.

Graphic Updates are cool. And even if they would not have brought a graphic Update, the content of the PTB would have been the same.

It would have been easier to see and there would be less object placed everywhere. In order to make the graphics look good, they had to change some of the map's context.

It's a crossover with DBD and Pong, the most classic license! You guys are small brain, I big.

Also it's like a video game version of unlocking your phone!

  • I think it's the alchemist from the hallowed blight event.

First, a second dig through the code from data miners showed that the killer can be purchased through shards, most likely showing it's not licensed. (this is not confirmed though, take it with a grain of salt)

Second, it is animated and shot similarly to the "The Alchemist" short from tome 1 (the end of the short is very similar to the teaser).

third, at the beginning of the teaser, you can hear an injection, followed by glass breaking. The end of the tome short shows "the alchemist" (a hidden figure, most likely human) injecting himself with the serum with the same sound effect (the same serum that comes from the pustula flowers and the Halloween cosmetics for most of the non-licensed killers).

I don't think it can be anything else.

  • THERE'S the crying I was waiting for! Can't have a new addition without whining!

To be serious, if you think that the player on the other system is too powerful, then just disable crossplay. It's the bottom of the main meniu settings.

You either get fast wait times, or more consistent matches. It's your choice

  • @lucid4444 said:

We did read the notes. Little Timmy who just bought this game is not on the same skill level of Otzdarva. There's no possible way he should ever be paired up with him.

They didn't build Rome in a day.

Yes, the system is pretty bad, but they are trying to fix it. I know it's the trend to nitpick everything the devs do and to metaphorically crucify them for it, but can you people have patients? This game releases content faster than most other games, and the downside of it is more unintentional problems arising.

They can't fix MMR in a day, or even a week. It seems like at least 90% of the playerbase has no patients (and respect) for the devs.

I'm not trying to white knight, I have my very own problems with the devs, and have made it public too. I'm not trying to say there are no problems with the game or the dev team either. I'm not even saying they are being the most professional, but I can tell they are at least trying (even though you have to squint past the negative posts to see it).

Maybe they were too confident and thought that the MMR system was ready, but they misunderstood it, and you guys kept begging them to release it. It's like arguing with the cook to give them the steak and they just give it to you to quiet down, then you complain about the steak being raw, despite you being the one to rush them.

  • I honestly think they accidentally made the MMR backwards, because when I play a killer that i'm decent at, I get locker hiding survivors that throw every pallet they see and fail most skillchecks, but when I play a killer a barely play, I get matches that last 3 minutes and people with 10,000 hours (at least it feels like it).

They have been tracking MMR rating for last the couple of months. If you don't like player feedback then leave the forum. People are discussing their games and experience - so deal with it

experience vs me buying the game during summer sale

Sorry but you guys have not been clear with us regarding the new MMR system and how it will work. If you see my comment above you will see Almo's response and he said that it will take around 10 matches for NEW accounts only. For old accounts and players who have been playing before it should start working for them as soon as the new MMR system goes live. We don't know what to believe. So far players with over 2000 hours have been playing against new players with less than 50 hours. How does that make sense? Can you please explain?

If they tell everyone how it work, then everyone will abuse it. It's what happened to the emblem system they used to use.

  • nobody ever reads the damn posts the devs make. Let me spell this out for you guys: R A N K S A R E N O W I R R E V E L E N T !

They confirmed that with this change, you will go against rainbow ranks, and to NOT freak out, as rank is no longer used to judge how powerful someone is.

They explain it in HUGE DETAIL in the post about it, but you guys just see the title, then you "suddenly know everything".

They literally have 4 PARAGRAPHS about why ranks don't matter anymore, how ranks are now being used to judge how much people play the game, not how skillful they are, and even why they are still keeping it for incentive rewards...you know...the thing people have been asking about for years? (it's pretty much half of the post)

But something is different, so we should all cry now.

I'm just tired of the "see-food diet" everyone is on. They see it, then take it.

The MMR was supposedly tracking stats for like a month, but OP is going against survivors with several thousand hours on a killer they JUST bought, meaning they should have 0 MMR

That's the thing. Supposedly does not mean fact.

Agree that an opinion can be had by all.

    However....

    Your movie analogy doesn't work.

The op would have had to have asked everyone to resevere comment until they have made a video game.

Playing the two sides of the same game isn't comparable to making a movie and watching one.

First of all, thank you for actually reading my comment and respecting it instead of getting mad at it because you don't agree with something.

Second, while I also thank you about pointing out the analogy I made not being good, I still think it's silly that most people in this post seem to come across as saying" if you play the other side once, you automatically know everything" and that there are an extremely small amount of people that only played one side and NEVER the other side (at least on the forums), but they make it out to be much more common than it actually is.

  • @BaldursGate2 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1504324#Comment_1504324

If you never experienced the other side, you don't know how it feels, you just believe you know it. So your opinion is just flawed by your lack of experience.

I do play both sides, that's why a said "if". Stop trying to antagonize people for not having the same opinion.

I'm not allowed to feel for a person who broke their arm, so I should not feel bad for them, because I have never had a broken arm before?

Pay attention to what the post is saying before you blurt stuff out because it doesn't fall in line with your opinion.

I'm not trying to downplay your opinion, i'm just saying to you and the OP to stop saying others shouldn't have them.

  • Apparently if I play only one side, that mean I have no idea about anything on the other side, and because of that, i'm not allowed to have freedom of opinions? Even though you always go against the other side, and it's a good idea to learn them? I'm not saying that a person that plays only one side knows everything about the other side, but saying you can't have opinions through self-judgment?

So if I have an opinion of a movie, I can't actually have one because I have never made a movie before?

I doubt this is the vibe you're trying to go for, but the title sure as hell seems like Gatekeeping to the average internet person.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Any game where the main purpose is to play against another player/team, I classify as being competitive. That's not to say that you can't play in a casual manner (i.e. not really giving a crap if you win or lose), but in its bare basic form, it's competitive.

SSB is officially considered to be a casual party game, not a competitive fighting game, and they really dislike it when people try to make it competitive.

While I understand your reasoning, but having every game that has you go against another person being competitive even if it is officially denounced? I don't think so.

  • Have BT, deliverance, DS, and unbreakable, rush gens, join a SWF group, and boom! Not only have you countered camping, but you also countered killers in general too!

But most importantly, don't get caught. Either by letting go of the run button once in a while, hide around corners, or do "aura jukes". Use the killer's auras against them, especially now that auras are too dark to be reliable. Pretend you are going one way, then go the other way.

What also plays a part of it is your perceived behavior. Killers 98% of the time only camps if they are low rank (or at least should be low ranked), it is endgame and they are desperate for a kill, or are just straight up tired of your #########, no matter if it's justified or not.

Camping extremely rarely gets you a 4k or even a 3k. This game is all about telling your opponent's actions / reactions. I know it sucks to get camped, but it's not a new thing by a long shot, and there are commonly known ways to counter it / deal with it.

  • there was a post that Almo responded to 3 times, and all 3 of them ignored the question. The question was about at least locking items for survivors, and allowing them to share items between characters so it would be possible to switch characters, but impossible for a survivor to switch items, even if you switch characters.

Almo responded to it 3 times by mentioning that you can't see the survivor's perks, so it doesn't matter, and while that is true, that was not what the question was asking. It was asking about items. Almo got told by some people in the post that he just ignored the question, so he responded...the same answer again, ignoring the actual question. Even more people demanded him to stop ignoring/dodging the question and answer the items question. He then responded one last time and so he finally said...

...The exact same thing again and ignored the question one last time then left.

So what i'm saying is that, in my opinion, Almo isn't the best person you should be asking about locking.

Regardless a player shouldn't be penalized cause of something they can't control.

It's because people can avoid the penalty by either: restarting the PC, or if you're on console, force closing the app. That would make the penalties pointless. I'm sorry for you, but it's an unfortunate side effect from something that mostly is for the greater good.

    Clearly a survivor main

Slugging a DS user is the work around, survivors that just run at the killer trying to force a DS gives a free down, stopping them from doing anything else, and either wasting their unbreakable, or another survivor has to go pick them up, same with when they spend their time locker spamming while you ignore them and just chase another survivor. You might say RIP enduring, but the change made enduring make pallet stun recovery even faster, making it a perk i run on almost every killer

You can still have almost max everything on killer and still be a survivor main. How about you show us what your survivors look like, that will not prove that you are a survivor main either, it's all in the mindset, and judging from your previous comment, you're survivor biased.

It's like you're ASKING to go against only 1-2 killers out of 20.

Hi. I bought the game after the release of the Silent Hill chapter. The game isn't labeled Early Access or beta anymore and I waited 4 years b4 buying expecting to find a stable game. However it feels very early acess to me considering the amount of problems and bugged features they introduce in the live version. In my case I am not being able to get bloodpoints in the game for example, as well as the aura testing they decided to do in a live version.

Does this always happen after big patches? Wouldn't it be better to label the game as early access/beta?

every single patch has problems that in most cases, remain unsolved for months to even years.

  • I just realized that they changed some of the addons for Bubba and Billy (or at least changed the description)

  • @Almo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1482779#Comment_1482779

They can change addons and perks still. So the contention that "the Killer can't do anything about it now" is incorrect.

Allowing Killer swaps will make per-Killer MMR impossible, and we need that feature.

People can still last second switch items that killers can't react to (unless you expect every killer to run franklins and lightborn). We (or at least I) request to at the ABSOLUTELY LEAST to allow survivors shared items, but also lock them from changing items.

For example: if out of all survivors, you only have one green toolbox that you got from Jake, ALL of your survivors has the option to have it, BUT during the lobby, no matter what survivor you switch to, will always have that item and can't change them without leaving the lobby (you don't even need to lock addons, just items). If you don't, then the thing I talked about earlier applies...

...and no, just because survivors don't know what they are facing, does not mean they can't screw them over unfairly with player switching.

  • They barely nerfed Leatherface (they only slightly nerfed Iri Flesh) and billy rarely overheats now. (but I agree the auras suck now, and I think they should at least hold off on killer locking until MMR fully releases. I know it's to get data for it, but now killers have a harder time trying to adapt to survivor's loadouts, and some of billy's and Bubba's add-ons don't make sense / are useless)

they barely changed anything from the PTB for Leatherface. And I have yet to get a 1-2k with him after 10 games, but that's just me. I think you just need to learn him better. Just because you have trouble doesn't mean everyone is the same way.
