  • It's "supposed" to redo the old auras and update them to be the same, which should result in less bugs being associated with them, but they accidentally made them way too dark to see.

I could take them a day or two, but they will most likely wait an entire week, if even.

  • While i do like more chase music, this one is not my top 3. It sounds like a dumbed down version of the Deathslinger's music.

Nothing to do with being survivor sided at all!

It's locked in because when you search for a match that's when the matchmaking happens, so if you queue with your strongest killer for example and then decide to change to another killer whilst in the lobby you are going to struggle...that would also be abused the other way around - you'd queue on your weaker killer and be matched with survivors of that skill level, then switch up to one of your stronger killers in the lobby.

The difference for survivors that there's no difference between characters in the same way there is for killers.

Why not wait until MMR comes live everywhere, instead of now?

  • they don't want players to play as killer (why do you think they are adding bots?). They want this game to soon be survivor only.

  • @NofearShadow said:

the Game is so bad when the killer is camping it takes fun out off it I think developers should let us report it

I'm sorry man, but you can't report it because the devs said multiple times that camping is not against the rules (@Peanits can confirm this). Besides trying to learn how to loop and hide, the best thing you can do is to tough it out until you get to the higher ranks, where it is less common.

As long as Legion's Max Base Speed isn't tampered with. That's all I ask. But then again, Clown has the same 4.6m/s as Legion. But feels slightly sluggish still even after Clown's rework. But that's just me. Huntress is lanky but at 4.4m/s speed max should be as fast as Legion where Legion is short stature. But Freddy is short stature and m/s is 4.6, even though he's claimed as Average Height. AND feels faster than Legion. Where as LF is also 4.6 and sluggish. 🤷‍♂️

They didn't even rework Clown, all they did was buff ONE thing and called it a day.

  • Hackers were giving multiple people 72 hour penalties for no reason, so they took it down to either fix it, or slightly rework it.

(I don't think they should increase the time, what if a power surge happens in someones house, and because of it, they get punished for 30 minutes. Not all DCs are intentional)

This is kinda a problem with a lot of killers. Making a big deal out of this

The first 2-3 gens don't matter stop throwing hissy fits over them

Yes, no early game should exist. Why the hell is there 5 gens if the first 2-3 don't matter?

Full disclaimer: I play both sides but I’ve never played Oni, I didn’t buy the DLC so I don’t own him.

Aside from the obvious early game stuff (play safe and don’t get injured to avoid him getting his power, which is kind of unrealistic in random solo lobbies), what do I do against Oni in Blood Fury? It seems like he once he gets his power the first time he just keeps getting it super fast after that, and it doesn't seem like there is much actual counterplay to his power besides hoping that they're bad at aiming. But I'm happy to be wrong and I'd love to get some tips to help me survive if so. Thanks!

Loop around walls that would require the Oni to do a 180. It may come as a shock, but the Oni during his power can be looped almost as easily as an m1 killer. The best bet is to go to "thin loops" (you know about the long wall with a window on it? That's a pretty good loop against Oni if you know what your doing).

  • I think this "war" is escalating frighteningly fast. Over the past week, there has been at least 3-4 post that had devolved from a civil conversation, to harassment against the "other side". I have seen the posts, and it has gotten so bad that the mods had to delete it. It was that toxic.

Granted, it was only on the forums, not the game or other stuff like comments on twitter, and mods deleting devolving posts is not new, but I have been on the forums almost day 1, and I have never seen so many post get deleted until over the past week. (one of them was literally made specifically to provide toxic allegations towards killer mains, and most people was joining in on the hate wagon, and it gotten almost 8 pages in 4 hours)

  • This forum post is the DBD equivalent of a racist 4chan board/a hateful pro-feminist post. You complain about killers being toxic and hateful towards survivors, WHILE doing the reverse of it at the same time? Geez, sorry for giving you a g*****m game to play.

You guys may think I'm going too far, and all i'll say is this: It's just as on par and crazy as every one of these posts.

(And if you are offended, i'm sorry. I'm just tired of this forum being filled with hate threads that is meant solely to do harm.)

  • Treat shred kind of like PH's ranged attack. Don't always go for it. The threat of using your shred is more powerful than actually using it. Portals (in my opinion) can be used in two ways that depends on your playstyle. You can either place portals right next to gens, so survivors have to waste their time closing it and be oblivious and be seen through killer instinct, or hide portals a decent distance away from gens to have more maneuverability and to catch survivors off guard more easily. I recommend Bronx's guide on demo for tip on how to play as him effectively.

I think you dont get the point of this thread: he's using a meme build, viewers are using cards and he's not really playing up to the skill level that he usually does = gens fly by.

This aint a thread complaining about gen speeds, but his entitlement that he should "win" / he lost due to swf even tho he puts himself against the odds as well as not playing optimally.

What i'm saying barely applies to the post, I'm just saying that if you post saying that survivor should be nerfed, or killer should be buffed, especially now, will be blasted a new one survivors in denial, since they saw the hillbilly nerf, they think that they can do anything now, and starts screaming nerfs to killers and buffs to survivors in a non-constructive way. (no matter if they pay attention to the video or not, they saw the title, they will come and harass you. that's the "trend" now)

  • @fabeck said:

Both of these Killers are op, you literally don't need brain power to play with them. The Doctor just spams M2 and Myer's absurd small terror radius with a power like Evil Within just makes them unfair. Especially on small maps. Please nerf them.

I bet you posted this right after you lost to them and your first response is to call for nerfs like ordering a pizza.

  • @Karl_Childers said:

This is why a lot of people don’t take the complaints seriously. Watch this nonsense. He is using an awful build, (assuming viewer request) and has viewers playing meme cards during the game where he has to do stupid actions like look up for 5 seconds, search a locker during a chase, etc. Not only that, he plays awful! Took him forever to even land his first hit. On top of it being a gen speed issue, he also defaults to his usual “must be SWF”. Look at the comments, all saying the same thing crying about gens. This is just ridiculous and the epitome of entitlement. I challenge anyone to watch this video and tell me his play here didn’t warrant him getting ######### on.

Sorry if this has been posted, I took a look and didn’t see it, and the search function isn’t working.

For your own sake, you really shouldn't be making post like this for right now. There is no problems with it, but survivor mains are currently raiding the forums spreading hate everywhere and will disagree with you no matter what. Just keeping your post safe.

Let's see, what prevents Gen Rushing.

    1. Corrupt Intervention.
    2. Pop Goes The Weasel.
    3. Surge.
    4. Ruin.
    5. Thrilling Tremors.
    6. Overcharge.
    7. Discordance (Somewhat)
    8. Dying Light.

What prevents a killer from tunneling?

    Let's see...

    1. Decisive Strike.
    2. Maybe Borrowed Time.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you use your anti-gen rushing perks and still managed to get gen rushed, then the issue isn't the survivor. The issue lies in your skill as a effective killer. Survivors have barely, laughably 2 perks to counter a tunnel while killers get a plethora of perks to use to counter gen rushing.

I'm not saying Gen Rushing doesn't exist, I'm saying killers are given a lot more perks to counter a survivor's objective.

First of all, my original post still stands. Second of all, how about you ignore perks for a second, which is more powerful, tunneling or gen-rushing?

  • Calling tunneling a bad playstyle is the exact same as calling gen-rushing a bad playstyle. Both are used to finish the objective ASAP. Both need to be looked at the same time.

  • Judging by the new unofficial schedule, the update will most likely be released July 28th, as the last few major updates took 3 weeks after the PTB. (there "may" be a possibility it will be tomorrow, but I personally doubt that)

  • The only comments I get on my steam profile are survivors in DBD. None from other games (even multiplayer), none from killer when I play survivor, only from survivors.

It is also for survivors to gang up on a killer in chat, as they can have 4 people bashing 1 person, making it feel much more personal.

"I mean, sorry for allowing you to have a game to play, Jesus".

  • @Peanits said:

I feel like you've turned a blind eye to the plethora of perks that slowdown generators either directly, or by forcing the survivors to do other actions other than generators slower.

Corrupt Intervention, Dying Light, Huntress Lullaby, Ruin, PGTW, Surge, and Thanataphobia all directly slow down generators or regress them.

Then you've got perks like Discordance and Surveillance which help you keep track of the generators so you know where to go to keep the survivors off of them.

And finally, you've got perks like Sloppy Butcher, which makes other actions (in this case, healing) take longer. Times spent doing other things is time spent not doing a generator.

This doesn't even go into lesser used or more niche perks which could give you some extra regression/info/slowdown.

I know you wrote off perks like Ruin and Thrilling Tremors because they don't work automatically, but that's because getting them off the generators is your job. You, as the killer, need to get them off them so they can take effect. In Thrilling Tremors' case, that info helps you figure out where people are so you can go chase them off. Thanataphobia as well stacks with other slowdown effects and can was a lot of time (a heal becomes ~24 seconds when combined with Sloppy Butcher, double that for Self Care).

Perks aren't the only way to slow things down. They can help you, but they're not meant to stop all progress for you. The best way to slow things down always has been to play smart and keep people off of generators.

Didn't the team say in the post with the Ruin nerf that you guys are planning to eradicate ALL gen regression/slowdown perks for killers?

  • Sheesh. People are stereotyping HARD in this post.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

    1. There is no 360 bug.
    2. There is no dark spot bug.
    3. There is no auto aim bug.

And stop blaiming SWF for your lack of skill.

Along with the other responses to your comment. You think that the OP is not allowed to take a break?

  • Not in the slightest, and even if your were, you should not be forced to follow a playstyle that survivors want. It applies the other way around too.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

"The devs don't take the forums seriously enough to change the game."

This is simply untrue. Just because they don't particularly respond or change something YOU want changed, doesn't mean they don't care. Everyone who has been on these forums long enough know that some things have changed, partly due to feedback straight from the forums. I say partly because this isn't the only platform they gather feedback from.

The problem is in that people seem to think whining (the act of acting like a little child and flat out spouting insults more than actual feedback ) will get them somewhere.

My golden rule is "think before you start typing." It's really quite simple.

I'm saying they CAN take it as a suggestion, but they will not absolutely put it in because the backing force was the forums. If most people on the forums say for example "reduce the Clown's reload time! It slows his potential down too much!" They will somewhat likely take note of it, but they will most likely not put it in the game if their stats show that it makes little difference (or at least not enough for a change).

    The simplified version:

Think of gas as a “trap” you want to place in FRONT of survivors. You want them to run through a FULL gas cloud, or trick them into avoiding it. When survivors DO run through a full gas cloud the speed at which Clown closes the distance is staggering.

On indoor maps or very confined spaces with tight turns, take your time and aim for direct hits. This considerably increases the survivors blurred vision and almost always results in them clumsily running into random things and getting “stuck”

what about hitting a higher point so the gas is expanded by a lot in indoor maps?

  • @Sir_Bassington said:

To be fair, you have to be a very skilled killer to play Spirit. The timing on her phase attack is extremely subtle, without a solid grasp on your mouse to use it, which the typical killer simply is unable to do, you're going to 0k. There's also Spirit's mindgames that you have to take into account, do you use your phase at a pallet to hit the person on the other side, or do you simply do nothing and wait for the survivor to do it on their own? The best Spirit mains understand this stuff. To this day I have never understood how anyone considers Leatherface useless. Compared to spirit without add-ons, he's stronger. Instant downs, pallet breaks, and normal speed vs spirit with slow speed and a power that enforces chance. Deathslinger need pin point accuracy to land hits, you know what Im talking about if you ever played MW2 back in the day, if he hits you its because hes a good shot. Its not the killers ADS, and instant cooldown and zoning potential that makes the slinger good, If you juke the Slinger its because he missed his mark.

I'm big brained. Do not think I don't know what you are taking inspiration from.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/172548/god-forbid-the-game-asks-you-to-predict-your-opponents-actions

    Brilliantly worded.

I think in part the reason there are a lot of the complaints you listed is because it often goes unacknowledged that DBD is a hard game. Damn hard sometimes.

Sure the button prompts and controls are basic, but it’s HOW MUCH a player needs to think about at any given moment that makes DBD a hard game. To average players it can get overwhelming everything that needs to be focused on during a chase. I don’t mean that in any offensive way. It’s just natural for many players to flub up not thinking about certain things on top of everything else they need to think about mid chase.

It’s one of two reasons my main: Clown is perceived as weak. A) many players don’t use bottles properly, and B) he requires some very intensive fast thinking, and that’s just going to be beyond the capability of some players.

I agree with you and the OP.

I know this does not really fall in line with this post, but can you tell me how to use the bottles properly? (I genuinely want to know, it's not a snarky comment)

I missed em on on Wraith, Trappy boi, and Clown. Don't really care about Wraith and Clown too much, but I wanted to try to get all of them in case they ever made them separate from the heads (doubtful, but hope is always nice).

They're not the best cosmetic but they're kinda neat. So damn.

I honestly wished they'd just given us the sparkly firefly effect from when you picked up the crowns. That was awesome.

I have no clue on how you can't get a simple joke, you transformed my joke post into a bait post without my knowledge.

I don't get how you can take seriously a post that suggests the Metro Golden Mayers thing, the RBTs activating on Totems, complaining about the mask add-on for the love of God.

I am kind of a Pig main and I was just making a joke, a JOKE. I wanted to make you laugh, not angry. I had the most stupid suggestions that I could think of to make it funny but not blatantly trolly. Because that would kill the comedy in it in my opinion, just like a "/S" at the end.

I wrote it this moring in 15 minutes, victim of my own anxiety due to a medical appointment I had later. I needed some kind of distraction and I had the ideas for this kind of joke-post.

I'm sorry if I made you felt insulted or disrespected, it was meant to be a simple obvious joke, taking the piss on all the complaints there have been recently and on all the misuses of words like "to react" or "counterplay" I've read. Not a bait attempt.

It's not a Billy post, I couldn't care less about Billy, but you made me realize I should've added something like a cooldown on the Ambush Attack, something like "her throat gets too dry after an ambush so she needs to grab a water bottle in a locker" just to make it more obvious.

I'm especially sorry for the Scorpionz part because I think it was a bad decision to use his name in my joke. I don't know.

Have a nice day and, again, I'm sorry.

I will not be shocked if you Saw (hehe) all of the comments, and you decided to pass it off as a joke to save your dignity.

Sorry bro, at this point, intentional or not, you just dug a hole for yourself.

EDIT: I need to remind you, this is the DBD forums, People pass off serious posts as jokes, but takes jokes about stupid stuff seriously. It's kinda backwards here.

  • I'm happy that the devs changed something in the PTB. We had a pretty bad dry streak as of late with other PTBs.

  • This is one of the better events in the game (unfortunately my game bugged so my save got corrupted, causing me to miss 2 more crowns I wanted, but despite this, still pretty good)

Why are you implying running after survivors in circles is frustrating then? because holding m1 and running in circles is not what good survivors do. thats rank 21. the interaction with killers and outplaying them is fun. whats challanging by running after survivors running in circles if that takes "no skill"? nothing. do you only play killer? at least youre not a good survivor if you do,

Is that the goal of the game though?

Holding m1 and running in circles is fun? I don't know about you, but i'd rather be frustrated than be bored out of my mind.
