Really? How can you forget, to put the Freddy nerf in to the notes? He has now only 8 instead of 10 snares.
It always has been 8, dream pallets had and still has 10

Not quite, and I am uncertain what you mean by that exactly. Are you hinting that Space Coconut makes bad arguments, thus insinuating that my arguments are bad? You will have to elaborate and be more precise for me to appropriately respond.
Space Coconut is one of the few content creators who addresses issues or flaws with Dead by Daylight, and for some odd or unknown reason is often met with a taboo or unwanted presence for such. I am curious to know why he receives this response, nonetheless he is unrelated to my overall post aside from a small shout out in the end.
Do you have something to say regarding Cage of Atonement?
expanding a few sentences into a multi-paragraph novel about everything in this game being awful, no matter the tiniest detail. To me, he's like the modern Tyde Time.
-
If you find a caged survivor, and see another survivor running towards it, and your nearby, you can camp the cage for a few seconds, and they will be sent across the map again, wasting the survivor's time. Just a tip.
-
You came here from space coconut? That explains a lot.

Actually ive never found this game scary. Ive only been jumpscared once by a Myers using a build specifically made for that. This game already isnt scary, but add a childish killer and it becomes lame. This is my opinion of course, but one that I think many people share.
respectable.

Thats probably an additional reason they removed the auras.
I’m guessing they decided on the despawn mechanic first, but then thought “but what if a player ensures a survivor still dies first cage by constantly sending a cage to different spots on the map?”
the aura should be close enough to hear the survivor, so it would just be a small QoL.
-
I'll even go as far as saying that, if you just so happen that there is a caged survivor nearby, and you see survivors go to it, you can just camp for 5 seconds, make the caged survivor go to the opposite side, and further waste the time of the survivors.
Though I will say, they should at least put a deerstalker effect at around 12 meters of the caged survivor instead of playing hot and cold.

Yea dbd does have a childish fan base, but its not made of children. Any adult would find a fnaf chapter boring and if everyone starts playing him, probably stop playing. Its meant to be horror, not jumpscares. Having a jumpscare killer will defeat the purpose of dbd. Dbd killers are all slashers because that fits the game design. Add any jumpscare killer, and it just goes against the story.
I did not say children, I didn't even refer to it, I said "cringy" to both be purposely ambiguous, and to "relate" to the comments I was replying to (that's why it is in quotations).
I am not saying that I am encouraging this chapter (I don't care if it is licensed or not licensed, and if it is licensed, I don't care who comes in, as long as their gameplay is fun, i'm fine with it).
If they WERE to add Springtrap, I doubt their only power is to only jumpscare and that's it.
Also jumpscares exist in this game, a LOT, both scripted, and unscripted. Ever gotten scared by a sudden Shape or Ghostface coming out of nowhere. Hag (and some extent Doctor) literally have built in jumpscares in their powers. They even added a scripted jumpscare in the new map. (also, what do you mean by "goes against a story"? I know the game has lore, but apparently I didn't know that this game is very plot heavy with twist and turns in every corner)

no, but it allows you to know that someone will be shocked by the blast (assuming you have max level wisperers and are not running anything that messes with the terror radius.

Plus FNAF isn't horror. It's a game for five year olds. Combine that with a mainly adult player base and you get a severe decrease in popularity.
I am not judging this by "cringe" levels, i'm judging it at face value.
(I mean, it's about as cringy as Leatherface being turned from a horrifying man that strikes fear in anyone he comes across, to a joke that can't do anything. Even then, i'd much rather have a "cringy" character than a horror icon's legacy being ruined by people who don't know what fear is. How dare put a character with a "childish" fanbase into a game whose majority of the fanbase whines nonstop if they don't get what they want, and calls the game unfair if they don't win a single match, also rampant harassment.)
(from your guy's comments, it seems that BHVR does not care about money and wants to keep people playing forever...despite completely neglecting huge problems for years on end)
(also child murder/torture and pedophilia, great family entertainment!)

Tokenism is a real concern and if we were discussing an issue with how BVHR implemented wider representation and not whether they should, this would be a different conversation.
However it's also important to remember that we're dealing with a video game already pretty light on characterization whose whole deal is to capitalize on horror tropes. None of the characters are much more than vague stereotypes, really, and it seems odd to me that there's a sudden outpouring of concern that potential LGBT characters won't have depth and nuance when that isn't a requirement for anybody else.
talks about this should be calming down in a few days. This conversation started because June is pride month.
-
@JustCats said:

Yeah, it'd be nice if it didn't have to be "forced" (by who? or is this the gay mafia again?). It would also be nice if having representation didn't signify some sort of political or social stance. Unfortunately that's not the world we live in, and I'd rather companies and producers err on the side of hurting the feelings (?) of cisgender gamers or media consumers who view any steps towards a more inclusive environment with an honestly weird level of skepticism and hostility.
No, being LGBT is not a personality. However for a number of LGBT individuals their status and pride in it is integral to their personality. It's not really up to you to decide how an LGBT person should act, and it's not really something you should feel the responsibility to approve or disprove of.
Glad you understand, and while yes, people can be prideful for being LGBT and it can even contribute a little bit to their personalities, but being LGBT is not a personality (or at least it shouldn't be). I don't like it when people classify people as "the gay guy", or "the bisexual woman" etc. as there are much more to them than that.

But if they are unable to grab me through a vault as my view is more accurate that should mean they can't hit me on that same vault, yet they still do even if my side is accurate or not
While killers can't grab you when your on the other side, they can still hit you through the opposite side of the window, they confirmed in a stream not to long ago that this is intentional. If you're getting hit like 5-6 meters away from the window, then it is dedicated servers acting up again.
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1395428#Comment_1395428
I'm talking about when they hit you with an attack not a grab.
The grabs are fair in my opinion as they only happen when you are midway vaulting.
But when you have vaulted onto the other side but get hit and end up 2m away from the window, it's just not how it should be
you are not understanding me. To the killer, it looks like you are still vaulting. If they can't grab you, then your view is more accurate, but if the killer CAN grab, then it's the killer's view that is more accurate.
-
I always remember this, and you should too:
Killers are already bad, but the worst time to play as them, is during events, where "tryhard" levels are heighten to new levels.(even in this event, where the devs do everything they can to make the event earnings as casual as possible)
-
I'm fine with it, as long as they don't make it their "personalty" because being LGBT is not a personality, and people who think so don't know what being LGBT means (i'm not a part of the LGBT community, but I don't like forced representation in any media, and the LGBT community is THE thing these days as a "look, we have a gay character, that mean we are very progressive!")
-
toxic survivors can play killers toxic as well, and vice verse. You must of had a "bad luck streak", we all get that moment.
-
whenever that happens, it is the only time a killer can get a vault grab BTW. So no matter how they change it, it will always be broken on one side or the other.
-
in my opinion, i think they can use him, but they most likely want to get as much of the popular movies, and AAA game lisences before using indie games. I think they will, but not in the near future.

The console has a built in message system that a player can easily go to in the endgame lobby, but unlike PC messages, they will never end unless someone has enough of it and blocks them. (I use to play PS4 before I switched to PC, it's just as toxic there as is PC, and likely Xbox too)

"better than you in videogames badge" are you serious? BECAUSE im not entitled, because i think people should also play with their friends and have nothing against SWF. because i told him he will never get better when he goes in easy mode. well sure. then it is as you said.
From the way you word it, you seem to be acting VERY defensive. Also "because i think people should also play with their friends and have nothing against SWF." First of all, MOST cases, of course survivors have little problem with SWFs, because it benefits them also...BUT...
second, you seem to have forgotten what "sandbagging" is. It may be shocking, but I ACTUALLY play survivor, quite frequently, and one time, I was in a match with a 3 person SWF that I was not a part of (they told me they were on voice comms), and when the game was about to end (5 minutes into the match...) I was being chased by killer, I finally lost the killer, but the EGC timer had 20 seconds left, and I was nowhere near the gates on the same wall (look, i'm not saying survivors don't have problems of their own either) I knew I could not leave through the game, but luckily, I found the hatch, one of the survivors found me, ran to the gate (the survivor was across the map while I was in a field far away, but the area had a wide open space, despite it being in the Yamaoka Estate map, the current largest map in the game after the patch) and with all three at the gate, they waited until the actual last second before leaving, killing me in the process.
If that wasn't enough, in the post game chat, they said that it was MY FAULT that I died and that I would have lived if I was in their SWF group. Apparently it's my fault that I could not run across a gigantic map to the exit gates while i'm at the opposite end of it.
and finally, according to you, killer is easy mode compared to survivors, because running around a piece of wood and holding m1 is SO difficult. People playing games casually does not exist to you.
You can call me trash all you want, you don't have authority over people as much as you think you do.

I know, the thread name and post got edited since I put that. Originally it was saying they were going to DC from every SWF match.
True, because I've gotten too emotional when I made it, and I said D/C, even though I would not do that unless as killer, some of the survivors make the match too annoying to continue playing. I updated the title to be more accerate to what I was going to do. (And if you are wondering, yes, I still stand by it)

-
Is holding m1 for minutes on end fun? Is spamming a button for almost a minute fun? Is running around in circles accomplishing nothing fun? Is working hard to getting kills, just to get denied of it in a second fun? Is winning/losing every game fun? Is experiencing ALL of that over and over again for THOUSANDS of hours fun?
Is driving a toy car in circles for thousands of hours fun?
This game is the pure definition of repetitive, despite all of the content leads you to believe. It's just adding more wool over your eyes to prevent the devs from doing ACTUAL work. Just bandages after bandages. putting more bandages over a wound does not make it heal better/faster.
What i'm saying is that there is technically no such thing as QoL changes in this game. The "changes" they do add is to just hide bigger problems from the players (and from what I see, they are doing a pretty ######### job).
The team is pretty incompetent of most things from this game, but the only thing they DO have going for them, is their design team, they are incredible. So they use that advantage to try to hide everything else.
This game is pretty comparable to drugs. Just because a lot of people play this game, does not mean they like it, or at least think it is "good", but the team uses nasty addiction tactics to keep them coming back.
So to answer the OP's question, the devs ARE working on what THEY believe is "Killer QoL changes", but it's not going to do anything in the eyes of players.

Dbd's player base is only increasing, i remember that a year and half ago-2 years less than 15k people were playing this game on average.
In the past year the player base reached 35-40k players on average (daily) and kept increasing till 45k this year.
The 75k people that played the game in the past week are playing bcs the game is free till 23 if im not mistaken, so we dont count them.
This is only on PC (Steam), as i heard, the community on consoles is a lot bigger
I said on the forums, not everywhere...

Not trying to defuse anything, we're having a conversation. Just because you're right about some points doesn't mean your overall conclusion is correct.
In other words, the game is growing. And given how many people I see with hundreds or even thousands of hours, I doubt player retention is an issue. Everyone gets bored of games, eventually.
lots of people play it, then it must be good.

True, because there's also a free weekend going on. Putting that aside, you're also right that new chapters bring in more players temporarily. However, the game has had an increased player count for a while now, during times of normalcy (not during a free weekend or following a new chapter release). How do you explain that?
First of all, why are you trying to defuse a discussion, isn't that the exact opposite of what this section is supposed to be?
Second, it's simple, veteran players leave the game, while new player fill up more rapidly, because in any game, there are more active new players than active veteran players.
If you put another cadaver in a coffin with another does not mean it has less space. (it's a metaphor)

People like that make me want to rip my hair out. Like I guess you could of slugged but that’s not fun for anyone. And speaking as a solo queue survivor at rank 3 SWF pretty much guarantees a win.
Thwre wasn’t much you could really do there, i wish they brought back the feature for killers to open the gates early. So it would force them out.
They should make it where is a gen is not done in 5 minutes, killers have the option to open a door, and start the EGC. I know it is possibly winnable, but I'd rather D/C and get into an actually fun match instead of this bore.
