Yet another thing I found out is a friend of mine DC'd in a match she was doing (purposely) and DIDN'T get the temp matchmaking ban. Then when her next match is canceled before it even starts she gets a 3 minute ban.
Then you get people who get the 25 minute ban as well when it's BHVR's fault. I think we, uh, did a pretty good job so far. Naw, who needs 60 seconds worth of not playing when you can just leave for half n hour.
As for the first hook thing, I'm sure they can code it to make it if you die first hook within the first minute, it counts as DC. But they won't, you know they won't.
Like, bugs are everywhere in this game. I understand coding is hard but it CANNOT like actually CANNOT be THIS hard. Otherwise many games wouldn't even exist and games that are more complex than this don't really have noticeable bugs or very few bugs and all those bugs are easily fixed.

I feel like that's exactly what happens to me a lot too. I swear I've release M1 yet I still get a skill check I can't even attempt to pass.
At least Overcharge you get the option to do the skill check as you're walking away from the gen... All skill checks should be like that so you have a chance to not blow it up.
-
@The_Second_Coming said:
I mean, skillchecks are random. It's a risk you need to deal with.
They are random but I've had moments where I get off a gen and it blows up and I didn't hear the skill check noise until I let go of M1. If anything, it should only blow up if you're on the gen when the noise is halfway done or something.
There's random and then there's unfair/bad coding. If I don't hear the skill check until after I let go or it starts as the animation of me letting go starts, then that's not random, that's bad coding.

or you could just suicide first hook and ruin his bloodpoints to teach him to not camp again...
Facecamping causes you to lose points anyway. He'll get more if people actually give him a reason to go after someone else. Facecamping would probably be less points than everyone suiciding first hook I'm sure.
-
They're not toxic, you're just playing the game how it's intended. Hook people with MS in basement for example, hell, even if you didn't have MS and that challenge you're still allowed to hook in the basement.
People think to have fun, they need to win. They need to not be 'bullied' by anything to have fun. If DS, Flashlights, good loopers, basement hookers, etc are in their game then they feel they can't win and won't have fun. They just need to suck it up. They're probably doing all those same challenges, so they're also hypocrites.
Some of them are easier than I initially thought too...

Honestly, a very solid concept that is very well put together, I really hope the devs will take a look
Thanks c: One could only hope the devs would look.
I still feel like my ideas could use a bit more work, such as how they could fix the 'holding M1' issue because as of right now, doing chests, doing totems, and doing gens all require you to just hold M1. I just can't think of a way to do the objective ideas of 2 &3 without the use of holding M1 so that's still up in the air.
@slipttees said:
The generator needs gas to work, so you have to search the map for two gallons and complete the generator so you can fix it.
Ye, that would also make sense with idea #1 since that revolves around doing more to actually be able to fix the gen. Didn't think of gas, only parts. :3

You know what's GREAT? Having choices in life. Just like you have a choice to put that credit card back into your pocket and actually step back and I dunno.... maybe hesitate for once. I stopped spending money on this game about a month or two ago for the simple fact that I'm tired of them not fixing bugs that very much need fixing and have needed fixing for many many months and what not.
If you wanna call it a scam, fine. But it was still YOUR CHOICE to not be patient to see what happens next. They didn't force you to throw your money at them. Think before you buy.

it seems the words: "OP" has lost it's meaning in DBD.. The meaning of "Over Powered" is it's unbeatable. There's no counter. But everything that is "OP" in DBD is counter-able. And can be won against. It's just people are either too lazy or too far up their own butt to see that it's not "OP" but just difficult to verse.
Since when has Overpowered meant unbeatable? It means too intense, overwhelming, to overcome with superior strength, to provide more power than is needed, etc. But I've not seen any definition say "unbeatable"
-
They nerfed a few of Freddys addons (which he is powerful without still), took out Oni's massive control because it was a Known Issue that was never intended, fixed Spirit up a bit without making her unplayable, etc. I don't see how they are being nerfed.
I doubt they will nerf any "insta down" stuff considering they took out insta heals and proceeded to add another insta down killer.
Buffing will just make things worse because then something on one side will be so op that it's not even remotely counterable.
-
But change them how? You need to offer up ideas. A lot of people want many things changed but how does the community want them changed?
-
"voice com cheaters" ... ...... ............................... excuse me?
Since when has voice com ever been "cheating" because I've never seen anyone banned for it. I've never seen the devs say it's not allowed. Oh yeah, it's cheating though, *puts hands up* arrest me.
The amount of people who cry about SWF clearly just aren't skilled enough and are trying to blame people who like to play together instead of themselves. I've seen SWFs get wrecked by actual good killers, what is your excuse?
-
Everyone already wants gen speed nerfed... I'd say either do one or the other, buff gen slow perks or nerf gen speed. Personally, I don't think Thana should be one of these perks that should be buffed if they went this route because if the killer is good, then all 4 survivors can be injured at the same time. Think about the perks it can be combined with too like Sloppy. Or even think about pairing it with certain killers like Plague (most people don't like cleansing against her as it is).
Thana is fine as is.
-
I like to play with what I want, then I get yelled at for not having DS or BT.
It's fine, just expect everyone to hate you because you're not playing with what THEY want you to run. I know we shouldn't have to expect it but a lot of people think they run this world, they're the supreme one that everyone has to revolve around.
-
If I could trade ranks, I would gladly give you my rank 4 just so I could go back to lower ranks where I belong...
-
I see it like this, if anyone thinks it's not a team game, then let yourself die on first hook. Please. Why should anyone save you if it's not a team game? If it is everyone for themselves, then no one should save you. When you allow people to save you, you are admitting you need a team to live. If people really say it's not a team game, then I'll sit in a corner and you can do ALL FIVE GENS by yourself.
Point? You need a team to live. You need a team to at least attempt to make it to the end and survive. You need a team to help you because you cannot face the killer and do all the gens by yourself. It is a 4v1, not a 1v1. You cannot survive in a 1v1, the hatch shouldn't even spawn/open for the last person until there's 1 or 2 gens left so if you depend on the hatch at like 3 or more gens left, you don't even deserve it especially with the "It's not a team game" mindset because at that point, you expect everyone to die (if you've done poorly in the match) so you can live.
-
Camping is obvious, you're staying around or in sight of the hook so you get easy downs when someone unhooks.
Tunneling though is a bit more complicated. A lot of people see it as "The killer found me for a second time, I'm being tunneled!" but no, I feel you have to be camped in order to actually tunnel or if you're very good at looping then they stay on you for like 2-5 gens.
An example of not-actually-tunneling my friend used once was in a match vs plague. She was sick (so I got sick by saving), I went to unhook her as someone else got hooked. So the killer doesn't know where anyone else is, of course she's gonna come back to area of the hook my friend was on. Friend had the bright idea to get on a gen in the area and when she was heard coughing and puking, the killer wouldn't have known whether it was me or her until they saw but even when they saw, the point of killer is to kill. They won't look at you and say "Oh, I've already hooked you, sorry. Lemme go find someone else." Now if the plague had originally stayed in the area she'd of known which way I went and then if she went after friend still instead, it would have been tunneling. But the situation my friend was in... not tunneling (even though she claimed it was).
-
Ye, this looks way to close to the Nurse. Also, we literally just got a killer and I'm so over DLC, I'd rather bhvr focus on what we have as opposed to ever adding more.
-
I just like the perk occasionally. However, whenever I run it now I have a fear that someone is going to sandbag me just for having it because that happened once before, got told the "killer deserved their kill" all cuz of UE. Even though in that match specifically it was just a filler perk for the character I was on and barely used it during the round.
-
Technically, no one should even be saying unless its "When I have to go" because you're not supposed to DC and saying you do is technically encouraging DCing or whatever.
I don't DC though except on rare occasions... like...super rare. I'm against DCing and there's very few reasons people DC for that I actually agree with.
-
I thought this bug got fixed... guess not <.>
-
Wasn't game health on the Road Map? Like... it really doesn't seem like they've focused on that at all. They're more focused on DLC and Cosmetics to get their money. Not bugs, not balance, not anything else.
-Now, I know the cosmetics team has nothing to do with the actual coding but if they've got the art design skills and what not, move some of them over to help with map design, fix the cosmetics we already have (like all the hair), fix the character models, etc. They have those skills, make them useful.
-Anytime they try to work on balance they completely screw up. Even though I think the Nurse is fine still, most of the community hates her and think she's "unplayable" so clearly their idea of balance for most of the community was horrible. Then you get the new DLC killers who are more op than they should be and when they finally get nerfed, people want a refund for buying the DLC (like Legion currently).
-Most of their bugs have been around for months or even years, they act like it's hard to fix these bugs and I'm sure some are hard but when you've had SO LONG to try to fix these things, there is no excuse. Most bugs get bandaid fixed and eventually, that bandaid falls off (even if the same bug doesn't come back, another one does in its place). The coding is spaghet, they should organize it so when they fix something, something else doesn't get screwed over because of it. I've never seen any progress on bug problems. Most other games can tackle their bugs so easily, so what is BHVR's excuse?
-
Bugs, aren't they great?
-
You can control gatekeeper without ruin. The fact that everyone relies on such an unreliable perk and then complains when it gets found immediately because they forget how unreliable it is... is quite sad. Even if your ruin stays up, there is a chance the survivor might be smart enough to do the gen with ruin still up. If you get a team who is potato unless they cleanse it, they're going to be actively looking for it.
Try getting more skill and maybe you won't need it or won't have to rely on it as much. I'm not trying to be rude here but it's just... I don't enjoy hearing killers complain about ruin when they know you shouldn't put 100% faith into the perk lasting most of the game. Ruin doesn't help you, skill does.
-
I like the game still but it is getting a bit meh without more to do...
-
I'd like for a new one to be made, the trapper one was so old and the one with Yui seems a bit futuristic with her bike, not DbD style at all.
I feel like the community should get to vote on what killer is in the cinematic and have the devs pick their favorite survivors. Trapper kinda boring, would be nice to have a new face of DbD now that so many more killers have been introduced.

Two wrongs do not make a right.
Yes, DCing is also wrong just like his teammate helping the killer is wrong but it's not like the guy was gonna survive anyway. It's not like he was of ANY help to his team by being thrown on the hook over and over until death. He couldn't do anything and it wasn't his fault. DCing is wrong in the sense that you can actually do something to help your team, if you're dead in the first 30 seconds of the game, you've done nothing to help them so it shouldn't even matter. The only time I see DCing as still bad when you're dead is if you're doing it to cheat the hatch opening for the last teammate.
I see people DC because they got downed the first time after looping for about 15seconds - 1minute, I see people DC because of what map or what killer, I see people DC because someone got mori'd, because of bs huntress hatchet hits, because of iri hatchets, because their team isn't doing EXACTLY what they want, etc. In all of those situations, people can still help their team but they choose to be rude and leave. This was different. He couldn't help, couldn't do a dang thing, and I see his DC as justified (this coming from someone who loathes people who DC). Why stick around a match you can't help when you could be finding one you can help in?
-
After thinking on this argument more I see it as
Farming Match - Well, they cannot force you into it and the survivor pointed him out at the start. How would the survivor know it was a farming match unless they previously had spoken with the killer? The killer didn't initiate the farming, the survivor did. And again, it didn't sound like a farming match.
Killer Advantage - Yes, the killer can take advantage but taking advantage in this scenario would be "let's get two birds, one stone." They take him out of the locker and proceed to attack the other survivor but they left the other survivor alone. But they didn't attack, as OP had stated, the killer left the other survivor alone and that is in no way taking advantage to win the game if you let the other person live this whole time.
Pre-Talk - There are many examples in this world where people work together but don't first have a chat about it (as I saw OP somewhere above use working on a car as an example). Only ONE person out of two or more need to have an idea of "Let's work with this person to do x." Which in this case it was "Let's work with the killer in order to grief this other survivor." Even though they said nothing to the killer, the killer is not the reportable one, we aren't talking of reporting the killer. The survivor took it upon themselves to make that decision.

That still doesn't constitute working with the killer.
Yes they farmed them off the hook and the killer downed them.
Someone farming and the killer hitting the hooked survivor doesn't mean they are working together the killer is just taking advantage of the situation.
The person was being a troll but it's still not bannable under working with the killer as there is no proof to say the person in question wasn't chased, hooked and killed themselves.
Working with the killer does not necessarily mean they HAVE to talk pre-match and say "Hey, lemme help you kill all other survivors." The survivor can make the decision themself and say "Maybe the killer will be nice to me if I show them every other survivor." or "Ima give the killer their kills because no other survivor deserves to live." or something like that.
The killer was passing by and the other survivor not only let the killer know they were there but also let them know the other person was there. And one point that has been made earlier was "Working with the opposing side without letting others participate is bannable and is what happened. The player DC'ing is not the issue here." which I don't seem to see you commenting on. This person was FORCED into being farmed and not allowed to enjoy the game. You cannot force someone into your pathetic farming game (which we don't even know it was but it didn't sound like it).
Yes, the survivor was a jerk but they worked with the killer to grief the other survivor (which states in the rules it is bannable).
-
There was an option to just not buy the pass. I've seen people complain about it for various reasons and I think the same thing every time "You did not have to buy it..."
You made a choice to waste your money on a buggy game. That is not BHVR's problem, it's yours. If you really have THAT MUCH of a problem, don't spend your money on the game anymore.
-
I don't want to sound rude but this happens almost every new killer. Why do new killers tend to be overpowered upon release and are then usually nerfed within the next few months (sounds like a money grab), why not spend more time on them in the first place to balance better?
Recent example being Oni's rage mode making him better than Billy (just my opinion) due to the amount of control not to mention the blood orbs stay on the map for a long time (if not permanently) and they even spawn under people who are hooked, making it so he can easily activate rage mode whenever he wants.
-
I don't do star wars. So obviously *raises hand*
-
I'm going to go with the Plague. If you don't cleanse, you're one shot. If you cleanse, you've screwed everyone over. Stealth is also not possible when sick.
-
Testaccount deserves some love too! He's probably crying in a corner right now!

"So a teammate survivor showing the killer in what locker you are hiding"
That is not what he said happened.
"is now a misplay of yourself"
And that is not what I was calling a misplay.
"I hid in a locker. Another survivor hid in the locker next to me. As the killer came to the area where we were hiding the other survivor jumps out of the locker and points at the one where I am hiding.
The killer walked right by this survivor and didn't even bother to take a swing at them. He then opened the locker where I was and pulled me out and walked away."
I think he did say that is what happened if you had read. He legit said the survivor pointed at the locker he was in.

Selling out your teammates isn't reportable. Jerk move, but not reportable unless it is premeditated.
This:
"Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates"
is a reportable offense in the rules.

Wait, it was a bug? Never knew. I actually thought it was an intended feature that they chose to just take out for whatever reason. But I sign this. I liked the "bug"

Well we may agree on this but I don't know how you can get everyone else in the community to stop DCing
Oh, the DCs will never stop. Even with the upcoming DC test stuff... People will just deal with the timer, play a few games without DCing, then probably DC again and out of the amount of people who DC, I'm sure I'll still see DCs every few games. Plus, first hook deaths don't = DC so people can just find the killer and die.
I could rant on and on about DCs. I could gather up the entire community into one big room and preach to them why DCing is bad and they shouldn't do it and blah blah blah but people just hold up their middle finger and will continue to do it.

Killers should quit the game if they don't like facing swf? Yeah sounds good
Yup, actually does sound good to me because guess what? It happens. Sorry that people actually have friends and like to play with each other. I mean you can't even tell if they're in a SWF, so if you figure they are then you've already gone at least half way into the match and should just see it through. If you lose, you lose oh well it won't kill you.
Or you could always check profiles and see if they're friends that way you won't have to DC and you can just leave the lobby. Or if you're just talking about the enjoyment part and not the DC part then idk what to tell you, learn to enjoy the game regardless of what happens during a match because if you really can't enjoy it, why play something you dislike?
I just don't see a point in DCing for anything... this, the secret offerings, bs hits, whateverelsepeopledcfor... it ruins the game for everyone else.
-
poor We're Gonna Farm - I mean - Live Forever. I use it to earn extra BP as of recently. But ye, other than BP it has no purpose... rip :c
And some of the lower perks are a lil bit better than their current teir, only if you actually pair them with perks that make them good. Such as Plunderers which I would put in E tier in the first place because you can still get brown items with it and without addons, makes those items still not good but pairing it with Ace in the Hole though would make it better.
-
Most people have DLCs so they don't care for splinters and shrouds are actually broken (I've had killers use the shroud and all 4 survivors still spawn together) so why use a broken thing and it helps the killer when all survivors are in the same area.
But I embrace the moris, they're apart of the game and are allowed to be used. If they gonna DC when it's a secret offering then maybe they shouldn't be playing DbD... Hell, if you gonna DC for anything, maybe you shouldn't play. I don't understand the enjoyment in lobby simulator nor do I see the enjoyment of just straight up not even playing the game you bought. It's a multiplayer game with other people behind the screen, they're not expert AI that will work the way you'd expect. There's so many different factors each game and if one's brain can't think of all the factors they won't enjoy, that's their fault. There's many games I don't touch anymore (and will never again) because there was something in it I didn't enjoy...
Don't enjoy it, don't play it but people will never put their two brain cells together and understand that. So they will continue to DC over and over.
-
Ahh, okey okey. I kinda felt that for a second but at the same time was like "I srsly wonder if it was legit <.>" I would have been vury sad if it was though tbh lol.
-
Uhhh, I don't like it. Seems more like a meme idea than anything (no offence)... but I mean... being forced into not being able to do anything to take a moment of silence so the Legion can see you and get a free hit? No...
-
Wow... why is everyone flipping out about not getting the event cosmetics? The other exclusive ones we got were codes n such and BHVR wants to dip away from that because they don't like seeing those codes sold on the internet. The event cosmetics were not codes but were EARNED by actually playing the game and doing what was needed to even get the cosmetic when the event happened.
I didn't earn those cosmetics, I don't deserve them and clearly neither do you or anyone else crying we didn't get them. Personally, I don't even like the ones we actually got for free, I prefer the ones I got from the store. Stop being so greedy, they're just cosmetics. There are better (or good enough) ones in the store... oh wait, that might be why you're crying... Couldn't get mommy's credit card to buy stuff on the store so you were relying on free cosmetics to look cooler. Guess you'll have to settle for what you got.

How does DS reward bad gameplay? Unless you have Iron Will the killer will find you when they come back for you. Besides, DS is easy to counter and if you tunnel and pick up a survivor you should always be ready for DS. Are you talking about grab baiting? Sure it's obnoxious but it's even more obnoxious to sit in front of a locker for 30+ seconds
It's just a personal (and unpopular) opinion. Honestly, I see the point of being survivor is to, well, survive meaning do not get caught even if you rarely succeed in doing what the role of survivor is intended to do. Even if I have DS (though I barely put it on my builds) I still prefer to not get caught in a chase because that's what I should be doing is escaping the killer smacking me down, not turning around and letting him just for him to start chasing me in 5 seconds again anyway. I feel I only get the amount of chances given to me, not extra because I dun goofed. (Also, I've seen a lot of people state that DS is at the point it's not even an anti tunnel perk because of how long it lasts.)
However that's another thing that's called toxic that shouldn't be now that I think of it is slugging when someone has DS.... But anyway, yes, that is the one way to counter it however so many people get really mad about that and I'm just like "That's your fault for bringing the perk or for it existing (when you don't even have it because some killers like to be sure)."
So there's not really winning with DS. You use it and the killers think it's "toxic", you'll probably just continue to get chased anyway. When you don't get a chance to use it, the killer is "toxic" for slugging.
Meh...
-
Here are more things I've found labeled as toxic (that shouldn't be):
Camping hook when another survivor is in the area, like... please throw that survivor rulebook of yours in the trash. The killer does not have to let that person unhook you, they will stay and search for that person.
Camping when final door is open and more than one surv is alive off hook, what should the killer do? They're not sweaty, they're just trying to get at least one kill or one more than they already have because they know the person will more than likely escape if they leave.
Moris and Flashlights - people are allowed to use this, does not mean they are toxic. Hate them? Hate BHVR, not the person using what BHVR gave to them. It's part of the game, it's going to happen.
"Tunneling" now... when I say this I don't mean you only chase one specific survivor the entire match. I mean say hooked gets unhooked, and then killer wasn't busy... goes back to hook and you're the only person they can find because the other person was smart and left the area or hid without leaving scratchmarks. What should they do? Leave someone they're supposed to kill to win?
Noed, some people see it as rewarding failure and I'm one of those people. However, it's also my fault (and the rest of my team) for not taking out the totems. But again, it's something BHVR put into the game and people are allowed to use it.
Stealth, I know stealth/immersion usually implies the person is not doing any gens and is hiding most of the match but being stealthy leads to not dying so the person can make saves and do a gen when the killer isn't around.
DS, just like noed I personally see it as rewarding failure but it's allowed. I don't see the toxicity in it.
People just don't like the game and I don't understand why people keep playing if they hate everything thrown their way. If people don't like it, they should uninstall. It's toxic to whine and cry about things that aren't actually toxic.

That would be good. I'm just about done with Tome 2.
tfw I edited my comment as you replied to me. I thought they had said Monday, was pretty sure I read it somewhere but I went back to look after doing something else and didn't see what I saw so ... sad potato. xD
But idk, I dunno why there was a delay in the first place. A lot of the challenges (even though easier) are still luck based anyway so it's not like it'll matter to someone like me who can rarely ever make it to EGC anyway.
-
Supposedly it is being changed this week. (I edited this because I thought they said today somewhere but I guess I read wrong) but they have not said.

This has been on the store for quite a long time now. Why is it just now being brought up? I'm sure a lot of people have been swayed by those lovely David abs but it's their money, they may spend it how they please~
These pillows shall not sway me though. Not my cup o' tea.

Just need clarification on one part where you say the following:
"You see Auras of all Dull Totems on the map in white. Complete "Spell" action on a Dull Totem which takes 1 second to fill it with the Ruin Curse and turn it into a Hex Totem.
Each Hex Totem keeping the Ruin Curse increases the regression on the Generator caused by succeeding a Good Skill Check by 4/4.5/5%."
Does this mean you can have more than one totem hexed? That seems too op if all totems could end up having Ruin.
