  • Just Prayer Beads, much like so many others wanna see it nerfed so do i.

And it would be nice if there was some different animation that told us if she was actually phasing or not. Spirits are top tier for a few reasons, one of those is because people don't even need to use her power the entire match to be good, they can just stand at a window or pallet to make you think she's phasing and then even if you know what she's trying to do and you run off, she can catch up in a matter of seconds anyway.

I'm entitled to have fun and you're free to d/c as well

You can have fun but it's a multiplayer game. Your fun means nothing over everyone else's. Don't ruin it for others. Just play the game the way its intended, if you only want farming games, try Farmville.

But I will say it again, when you play a game you agree that all this crap you don't like happens. Whose fault is it that you played a game with bugs or crappy mechanics or toxic players? Yours for not doing your research, you do realize before you buy a game you can look at forums and reviews.

  • How do they even know there's an issue when the update literally just released. I tried to accept the first quest as soon as my game was done updating (because it was not grayed out at that time and I started right at 11ET it only took 10-15 minutes for the update, probably the same with many others) and it told me basically I couldn't do that at that time, only to go back and find it grayed out.

    Like seriously... .-.

  • I say they're fine. Was torn between "balanced" and "too situational"

I mean, they're easily avoidable as killer. But to actually use them you need to either face the Hag, follow/be near your teammates when they go down, or throw all the pallets/make killers fault windows but they can easily juke you into wasting a bit of your flashlight.

  • It's been fine for me as survivor, been starting to get much green pings across the board. I just blame hitboxes at this point for undeserving hits... Only time I get bad ping is in SWF and that's my fault for wanting to play with friends. I've not encountered many bugs except for the "Error" bug that takes me out of a SWF lobby but that bug isn't killing me.

Honestly, I'd rather have green ping for the event.

    @Mat_Sella said:

Survivor side, i've been having great games due to it. I can actually vault windows without the killer magically killing me across it.

As Michael, i've had my Tier III fail to activate, causing the music to play both Tier II and Tier III at the same time despite not tiering up

That may just solely be a bug with Myers. Unless you can prove its Dedicated Servers causing it.

  • It's not even the servers that caused the undeserved hits at this point It's the fat freaking hitboxes that make no sense. The only way you'll get an undeserved hit from servers is if you're in high ping and that will probably mainly happen if you have horrible internet (because you can't blame the killer's internet anymore) or if you're in a SWF with someone from farther away from your region. So if people complain still they can complain about hitboxes now, call out their internet provider, or solo que from now on.

I believe that's how it worked prior to the matchmaking changes.

Ah, I assumed it was they based it off the lowest rank before the change (least that's what I saw quite a bit of the time if i actually looked but i usually didn't pay attention each and every match with friends).

Eh, oh well. Either way, one of those would be better than forcing new players with friends who have had the game longer to play with greatly skilled players.

  • People de-pip anyway to bully lower ranks as it is. However, I do agree. I don't wanna vs a rank 1 killer because I'm que'd with a red rank. But it's also not fun for some red ranks who actually got there with skill (and not dumb luck) because they almost never get caught in chases by a baby killer, there's no challenge for them which is what they probably want. I would rather something in the middle, average out the levels, something. If you have a rank 2 and a 17, pick a number in the middle.

  • I dunno how well they're going for me. They seem laggier and it's throwing me into worse ping lobbies (I play Survivor side).

Idk how they think dedicated servers work but it shouldn't be throwing me into red ping lobbies unless I'm playing with people across the ocean. Otherwise it should put me in the american region which only probably gets to 180 or so at max for me.

It seems like nothing has changed from the old way lobbies worked. Plus, ded servers should work where you can pick a region to play in as well, they have that on Deathgarden and things don't seem laggy there. Maybe they should switch the DbD and DG dev teams for a bit to actually make this work.

Key word here OPINION clearly you purposely ignore that sentence to start spazzing, but you're entitled to your OPINION bud. ggs

Who said I ignored it? When you think a certain way it usually reflects what you want. So you said you feel those perks could use a buff, it seems to me like you expect Behaviour to just buff all the perks you think are useless (some aren't actually crap and people usually are skilled enough to make the best of them) which isn't going to happen, like I said, not everything can be OP. Perhaps these perks are left alone in their current state for a reason.

I mean I gave my opinion too but now you're calling me a spaz for it basically. So... I guess I'm not the only one at fault.

  • 2, only because both sides have perks the other side doesn't like. But neither side seems to realize how "toxic" (as people tend to say) their perks also are.

And in the end its a 4v1. Solo or SWF, just learn to grow a backbone and learn how the others work to be able to work with them.

  • "Many consider Legion the bottom of the barrel"

idk, I hear a lot of people groan when they go up against a Legion but that's just what I witness (I dunno about anyone else). It seems people still don't like facing him even if most people consider him one of the worst killers. Well, why would some hate going against a Legion if he's awful? I guess there are still people out there who lowkey think he's good enough to be a pain of a killer to face.

I personally like Legion as is but I just suck at killer (mainly because I rarely play killer), otherwise I might be fine.

  • Why aren't any of the perks you use on those lists? Sorry, but I dislike self-care and it's probably one of the most useless perks. Most of the time survivors are found before even finishing self care, it's easily countered by things like Sloppy and Nurses (granted so is being healed by an alli but it's faster than Self Care still). Also, compare how long it takes to complete a gen vs it takes it heal with self care. It's only good for finishing off a heal when the killer finds someone healing you and chases them first, otherwise, just go work on a gen and get good at looping so you won't be downed asap when you get found.

Also, Urban's not on the list either, it only counters Hag. Even then, crouching in general counters Hag and you don't need to be faster. It only encourages hiding most of the time which most people don't like because those types of people barely do a thing.

And then there's also a full list of perks that could use a buff that are not on your list. But you can't expect Behaviour to just do that, in return they'll have to do it with every single killer perk. If you don't like a perk, don't use it. Don't expect anything to get a buff. Not everything can be OP the way you want it to be.

  • The people who complain are just the people who are bad at the game. Sure, I hate noed too but I know if I want to avoid it I need to do totems. If I don't then it's MY fault I got one shot after my adrenaline popped.

Survivors complain about killers without realizing how awful their perks can be to the killer as well. Not to mention it's a 4v1. So... what do survivors REALLY have to complain about?

As for toxicity, people will always be toxic when they have a massive ego or when they're bad and wanna take out their awfulness on the killer or they just have fun bullying (which they need professional help if this is the case). It's the same why people DC. Deep down they're just bullies, ripping their allies and the killer off of a fun time. Idc if you hate the map or the killer or one of your team is potato'ing, or whatever. Play and deal with it or don't play and uninstall if you hate it so much.

  • Ruin is a cointoss perk (just like a few other Hexes). A lot of the time it spawns right next to the survivors and some of the time it doesn't. I went into a round once and heard a small fire crackling noise. Wondered what the heck it was, went into the next room (literally only like 5-6 steps), low and behold it was a Hex. And it was most likely Ruin. So occasionally you might find you just wasted a perk slot. Sometimes you also get people who don't care Ruin is up and still work on gens (and do it well). Other times, it'll take few minutes or maybe even the whole game for people to find it.

Ruin is a mainstream perk though and since it's not 100% reliable I don't use it and never will.

  • Most survivors don't really know what things like Tunneling and Camping really are. Usually because their friends or favorite streamers taught them wrong. I know one small streamer who literally calls every single killer they face a hacker, tunneler, or camper (even though they're not). Even if she makes it out alive.

So survivors feel that after you down them once and hook them once, if you find them anymore it's tunneling or feel that if you stay in the area because you wanna kick a gen or pallet (or maybe you even saw scratch marks), you're camping. However, this is not the case and yeah, it is annoying to see. Probably all apart of the dumb, made up, non-existent Survivor Rulebook that should not be a thing.

For this guy, he was literally unhooked while you were still there it sounds and if anything he should be mad at his team for trying to farm him. Survivors get soooo impatient to unhook that they immediately decide you won't leave the area and they have to unhook right now. Not really the case but okay survivors. It's also his fault for not going farther from the area and even bringing Self Care (I personally feel it's one of the worst perks in the game).

People just need to learn what Tunneling and Camping truly are. BeHaviour should get someone to make a video for their YT explaining things like this and then put it in the Help & Tutorials tab in game where it'll have a link to the playlist of these helpful videos and tell people what the playlist is about and how it will help.

  • I mean, there's no reason for it to be an exhaustion perk (unless Behaviour sees it as you're using all your energy to stun the killer).

You don't want the devs to fix it.. and who knows if they'll even see this... But posting it on the forums brings it to their attention and they don't want people abusing perks like this, I'm sure.

  • It's not even gen rushing. It's the objective, it's the game. It's just a sad reason for people to cry over losing the game. Same with things like tunneling, one streamer I know made a good point, say a healthy survivor unhooks someone near you. You go back and see both, is it not smarter to go after the already closer to dead person? Granted, it's not very nice to do but it's how people play.

    But it goes like this:

-People who play Survivor refuse to see how their side can be toxic and op.

-People who play Killer refuse to see how their side can be toxic and op.

Thus people decide to complain about the other side instead of realizing, they're just as bad. The only thing I don't agree with at all, period, is camping.

  • Plenty, you can probably just google "Dead by Daylight Random Perks" like I did and find numerous roulette sites for it. Maybe try dbdbuilder net. or google "wheel decide dead by daylight" and a steam site should pop up with a post with links that has a wheel for numerous things in DbD such as random perks for killer and surv, what character you will be, items and addons, etc.

  • Were the survivors looping you around walls and pallets? If you were both going in a straight line and not around walls with windows or pallets then yes, it would probably only take 3 seconds. Actually, depends on how far you were from them as well. So maybe a few seconds longer. But some survivors know better than to just run out into the open with nothing to protect them. Learn the loops as a killer, learn how long it takes bloodlust to come up when in chase (you'll go faster then), and when you attack try lunging, etc.

Idk how you're playing but I doubt the survivors you faced are hackers. Just good at the game. There are hackers out there but I know a streamer who literally calls every single killer a hacker, tunneler, or camper (when they're not) so seeing a new killer call survivors hackers is just as annoying to see.

  • Bugs. Lotsa bugs. That's the only problem I see with the game. Otherwise I think it's somewhat balanced (I'm sure others will say otherwise). Survivors have perks killers don't like, killers have perks survivors don't like, survivors and killers can be toxic at times (but not always).

Also, speaking of toxic at times, the community itself needs work too.

Other than these, I think the game is fine.

  • Yes, exactly. Run what perks you want and don't care what others think. You play your way but... there are some "fun" ways people play that I don't agree is even remotely fun.

The game shouldn't just be fun for you, it should be fun for everyone. So, for example, I saw another thread where people were saying how it's "fun" to tbag the killer just because they want to or to get a reaction and that's not fun, that's just plain rude. Those people ain't even playing to have fun at that point, they're playing to bully others. If bullying is fun for you, then those people need a new definition of fun.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if say, you're a survivor and trying to, well, survive... Is the killer allowed to, well, kill? I know some people get salty when they get hit. For the first time. Within the first minute of the game (like, what, why). If you're allowed to have fun on one side, the other side is allowed to have fun too.

So ye, I agree, have fun. It's just a game. But not at the expense of others. Say gg at the end of each round with a smile, not toxic words.

This is happening since 2016 and there are more and more toxic people, keep on the work

Ya know, thanks for telling me. I was totally unaware people have always been rude. Especially on games.

On a more real note, I'm just saying. It's not cool for people to do this and there's absolutely no reason for them to do it. It really should be stopped at some point...

  • @Angelicus23 said:

Sadly for you everyone can have fun with their way and making a thread in the forums won't do something

Doesn't make the game fun for others though. And the only reason its fun for the person doing it is because it hurts someone else. It's just plain rude. People say they do it for fun but they just wanna screw over someone's day by acting toxic.

No, making a forum won't make a difference but it's something that needs to be spoken about and frankly games like this need to put a stop to toxic behavior. Otherwise it encourages more and more people to do it.

  • There are many reasons people are toxic:

    1. Someone who was SWFing with a Streamer tbagged the killer, streamer got mad and the person's excuse was "Because others have done it to me." So it's a cycle. People do it because others do it to them (which is no excuse, someone just needs to be the bigger person)
    2. They were possibly born that way and their brain tells them to have no emotion.
    3. They were possibly bullied as a child (or currently are being bullied) and feel stronger by taking out their pain on others over the internet (which is basically the same as 1)
    4. They hate how the game is and want to take their frustration with it out on the innocent players.

    Etc.

Killers should just learn to accept SWF. Just like Survivors need to accept things such as Noed. Both sides constantly bicker about things and they don't realize stuff on their side is just as bad as stuff on the other (because biased towards the side they main).

All I can say is people REALLY need to grow up. You find Toxicity on every single multiplayer game and it's annoying. Why does it exist? Why are Survivors/Killers like that? I couldn't tell you... And every single reason people find for why your killer was probably toxic is a reason that killer should just quit the game. If people don't like what's in the game, they could either learn to accept it or quit playing (and clearly that killer is not the learn to accept it type). Simple as that.

  • I've always felt you should be able to choose what clothes you want to be bloody. I don't like the ordinary outfits they choose to design with the blood. The other shirts and pants survivors start out with are better than the ones BeHaviour chose. So even if I can't bloody store bought stuff, I'd still like some other starter clothes bloodied. Otherwise, I see no point in Prestiging my characters...

  • So how is it supposed to be more visible? Just curious how a key could be more noticed...

Should we make it the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts? Not meaning to be rude, I just don't see how they could be more visible is all.

  • Only thing I hate about her is Prayer Beads. Other than that there's nothing to hate. But that's as bad as other killers extra rare perks such as Iri's. So if people hate that addon, they should take out all the op addons. I mean, people could always just not play if they hate addons like that sooo much.

If you're not injured and want to avoid her, just walk. Oh it'll be so hard to not run, boohoo.

But I see it like this, think about why Freddy got reworked. Killers didn't like that they couldn't hit right away (Spirit can but you can't see the player and have to make an educated guess that they might be right in front of you and many Spirit's guess right so I don't see why anyone who plays her should complain) and Survivors didn't like that they couldn't see Freddy, which is the same with Spirit. I hate Freddy's rework and if people really want to see Spirit just like they wanted to see him or whatever they're complaining about something dumb. Leave it alone, girl doesn't need a nerf. She's been sliced up enough don't you think?

If you are in solo, how would SWF match making effect you? You'd be matched with Killers in your own rank exactly like it should be.

If you a are worried about a couple of low rank players being dragged into high rank through SWF. ######### them. You're solo, make use of their deaths to farm BP and jump the hatch as their friends babysit them. Its their choice to be in SWF, so they should be accountable for that choice. If they cant handle it, then they can stay out of SWF till either they learn how to play or their friends derank.

It's like jumping straight into hard mode. You should find gameplay harder from skipping ahead before you're ready. And if they drag the team down, blame THEM! Not the Killer, not solo players, blame the idiots playing outside their means.

Better that than having high rank players go against low ranks. It's called Smurfing. A skilled player abusing the system to be matched in easy games to either feed an ego or simply be an ass. That's a clear bannable offense in most other competitive games.

Ranks, although most assume are worthless, are there for a reason. Bypassing them should never be acceptable for any reason.

I mean I've seen solo que survivors (such as myself sometimes) be paired with much lower or higher ranked survivors. So even if I get a killer my rank, he won't be the rank of other survivors. or vice versa. Matchmaking really isn't that great right now for anyone. Maybe you get perfect matches for your rank all the time, but not everyone does.

Well, Legion is the only killer that when they using they power the get punished for it.

Legion is a distraction killer. Pair them with perks that slow down the game based on their power to make it... more powerful. Not saying you should never try to get a kill but for the most part they're meant to break up groups and injure as many people as possible with Frenzy to get them off the objective. Frenzy allows you to see what others are doing as well. They only get truly punished if they don't have proper perks for them to do any damage to the game or if they tunnel after hitting someone with Frenzy cuz then it begs the question "Why did you use Frenzy anyway if you were only gonna have eyes for that one person?" (only understandable if you literally do not see a heartbeat anywhere around but I've seen Legion's use Frenzy with at least 2 or more in the area and only go for the one person)

  • @Clockso said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/619689#Comment_619689

the horrible matchmaking you've seen is because 2 or more were a swf with different ranks, or the matchmaking is busted, regardless you said that just because you have voice chat doesn't mean we're organized, which is you and you're friends fault for not organizing, you even said that they're messing around and listening to their ego. and earlier you said "rank 2 killer fair for rank 13 survivor? nice logic" so would you rather have a rank 15 killer vs red rank survivors with their rank 15 friend? it's their fault for bringing their rank 15 friend. it's like making a toddler drive a car

I would rather it be average. I don't expect baby killer but I also don't expect expert killer. Granted, yes, a lot of people purposely depip so its hard to tell if the person is actually a baby killer or not sometimes.

So your example was... 10, 8, 13, 2... hm... maybe around rank 7-9 killer would be preferred.

  • I don't play killer much, only recently started but I do Legion (I'm horrible though and miss like 90% of my Frenzy hits, still like her regardless xD ).

As for survivor, I usually do Kate, Jake, or Feng.

  • -OP camps

    -complains about gen rush

    -thread laughs

    -OP is probably serious

-i sit here, staring, waiting for the 'say sike right now' meme to happen

-probably not going to and becomes disappointed people like this exist

But in all seriousness, you're not focusing on ANYONE else. ANYONE at all. Not a SINGLE other soul in your match, just that one person who has probably done nothing to you? You DO realize people are smart and don't usually do saves with a facecamper unless they're THAT aulturistic and have BT, right? Of course people are going to "gen rush" you instead of playing into your hands... but when you camp it's not even a gen rush... you're just not playing the game as intended and they are.

  • I think Legion is fine provided you pair them with the proper perks (and addons if you like to play with addons). For me, I'm just a new killer and have trouble even hitting people with Frenzy sometimes so that's not Legion's fault that's mine otherwise I'd have no trouble with this killer.

  • @Clockso said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/619673#Comment_619673

ikr, sucks man it's not like they have voice communication and be organized :/

Um, solo ques? I've seen some horrible matchmaking in solo que'ing. And even if some people are in voice, doesn't mean they're completely organized. I've been in SWFs from time to time and occasionally when I give a heads up on something, no one listens because they're too busy listening to their own ego still or just messing around and having fun (not everyone plays to win).

Sorry that you've been paired against so many SWFs you forgot what solo ques are like. Who knows, if a SWF, the 13 might be somewhat new (its SUPER easy to rank up and a lot of higher ranked friends like to boost their friends).

  • Idk, I don't see a random board saying how many totems are left fitting the game either (plus, that would encourage survivors to go and look for the board every little bit in the game so they know if they should keep their eyes peeled or not). Totem counter is a good idea and I've heard it before too. However, if a totem counter on our screen telling us how many are left doesn't fit the theme, then what about the gen counter? I guess that doesn't fit the theme either? Yet they've already done that.

  • So... rank 2 killer = fair for rank 13 survivor? Nice logic.

  • I didn't think someone dying on hook = perma debuff. It only works if someone is in injured state or dying state but not fully dead? Least anytime I saw Thana in games and someone died the debuff didn't stay for me (if I recall correctly) and no one else was injured.

I use Thana but I don't camp. I just say screw it if people play smart with it. I'm not that good of a killer anyway... and I know a lot of other killers aren't as fair but I pair this perk with Sloppy, Nurse's and Discordance. I don't use addons right now but if I did I would put on a Mangled addon and replace sloppy with... (idk what tbh). But there's no reason to camp with that kind of a build. If you go back and check hook (not camping, idk why people consider this camping or tunneling if you had time to leave the area) after they saved and they're healing under it, that's their fault for not thinking ahead.

So maybe some camp with it but not everyone. Just play smart without camping and it might be a good perk depending on what you choose to pair it with. But most people take Ruin to slow the game... it's the mainstream perk to run over Thana.

  • Cute, a person who believes in the non-existent "Survivor Rulebook"

Ya know, so many people get mad if they're so much as smacked into the injured state at the very beginning of the game (regardless of fair game or not) so how this thread started really isn't surprising. I read a few comments and I agree with the ones who say DCs are unfair for the killer too or why should killers play nice because you think the game is now unfair to you.

I main survivor and only recently started playing killer and I've seen how salty people can be. It's a 1v4 game, the DC screws over the killer too by ripping off their bloodpoints and pips they could possibly get, it screws survivors over by ripping them off of a possible win and possible pip. Why is it fair for them to get bullied just because they want to win too?

If YOU are allowed to do as survivors do and try to survive then killers are allowed to do as killers do and try to kill. If you hate unfair matches... there's nothing I can say except build a bridge and get over it. If you really wish bullying upon someone because of SOMEONE ELSE then maybe it's YOU who deserves the bullying?

Be nice about it, don't blame the killer blame the randoms you got stuck with. Cry me a river...
