Please, how many hours do you have in the game bud, I'm sitting on 3k hours. By no stretch of the imagination a new player.
How much killer do you play? Because I play 40/60 leaning towards survivor rn because of queue times.
Anyone with general knowledge knows that at higher levels of play (not even talking tournaments here bud, just efficient survivors) you need to tunnel and slug. Everyone. Either your a troll, a survivor main or new to the game.
You dont need to tunnel or slug. Going out of your way to make a specific player miserable is just scummy imo, and I don't need to do it to win.

Oh, yes, I forgot that insulting people who don't agree with you is the best way to strengthen your argument.
Oh wait...
I didn't insult anyone...?

Not really, 3 people left often means after 30s of that 1 on hook, 1 in chase the other rescues. Rinse. Repeat.
3 people is a lot easier to deal with than 4, where 3 can be on gens, then 2/1 permanently on gens depending on luck.
Just sounds like a tactic a new person would use.

Because many players have crappy connection? Before the patch it gave them an advantage, now they suffer. Stop playing via WiFi, respect other players.
Oh, I see. Youre just salty because pallet camping didn't work the way you wanted before. Gotcha.

Good players will have spread out already and expect bbq on every killer and will hide their aura's behind gens so you can't see them. BBQ as a tracking is really bottom of the barrel. Tunneling someone out of the game early is still the best slowdown in the game. Just book it for the rescuer hit them once and they go tunnel the person off hook. It's the best strategy in like 99% of situations.
The only person that tunneling slows down is the killer. Also I still see aura's behind gems. Its not that hard to see a spot of bright red that fades out of view. You know unless this is purely brown rank we're talking about.

It's a bug in that your client and the server aren't synced because of latency. Latency exists even with good internet so your client told you you hit but when it checked the server the served said no the stun came first and negated it.
So why is it effecting so many players at once? Are all the clients simultaneously bugged? If so that means the game is the problem.
-
@Junylar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2399838#Comment_2399838
Well, if they make it so that you only see survivors screaming after the hit gets validated, people with WiFi tech will complain about "laggy screaming" in general. If you don't understand it yet, the survivor is only screaming on your screen, because you see an older picture due to the latency. And your client renders the hit effects even though the hit hasn't been validated yet. In fact you didn't hit, you were stunned before you could do it, but you just didn't see it on time due to said latency.
Bull. This isn't an isolated incident. Tons of players are experiencing it only after the patch, so that kind of rules out latency problems and points to game bugs/errors in design. Nice try though.
-
This is untrue. Tunneling more often than not ends up being a headache early game. You lose too many gens in the process and you aren't getting that pressure either.
Bbq is a great perk to ween off tunneling. It helps reduce the desire to attack the same person by providing you with an immediate target.
-
@Junylar said:
You don't tank a hit. If you get stunned while in attack animation - your timing is wrong and you were stunned BEFORE you could land a hit. That's just your latency, m8. Stop using WiFi.
Latency is one thing, but when you swing for a pallet and the survivor cries out, their icon turns red, then immediately reverts? Thats just not fair.
How dare we killers have a chance punish pallet campers? Put in the vacuum!

Not bad, I really like the idea of the Perfectionists. I think the watch might make the killer a little too strong, maybe his tokens give them a 2nd and 3rd spy. I dont know, I laughed at the movie so maybe it would be a lot of fun. Solid idea imo though, do more!
Thanks! I'll definitely keep racking my brain for more ideas. Also the power would probably be more balanced with longer cooldowns.

That was because of the showcase stream
Was still a teaser
-
Camping is unfair to the survivor on the hook, but at that point all they can really do is hang there as long as possible. If you find yourself getting camped too often, I suggest running Comraderie just to waste even more of the killer's time. Every second he spends near you is another second of pressure he's losing.
Crappy as the 'tactic' is, I don't think it justifies teleporting. Maybe instead, a perk similar to breakout, where when you're near the survivor, they have an increased chance to pop off the hook, and gain protected status if they succeed? That might be more feasible.
-
As soneone who started as killer, I always prioritize totems.

If it's licensed then chances are we won't get a teaser (as the last licensed teaser was in 2018)
If it's original then they'll release a teaser, unless they do a licensed teaser after 3 years.
They released a teaser for RE, if you recall.

Just gotta learn to accept it. Every mechanic in the game will be exploited/abused by someone or other.

I will never forget the first time I faced the Ghost Face.
It was the Red Forest. Mother's Dwelling. Myself and two other survivors had spawned in a corner tile with a generator, which we immediately began to fix.
Seconds passed. Pistons rumbled in my ears, and yet, it was the lack of a killer's heartbeat which caught my attention. Curious, I panned my camera away from the gen, surveying the surrounding area towards the center of the map.
Nothing.
There my camera stayed, unmoving, ever focused on the center of the map. I stared blankly, holding the repair button and hitting good skill checks like a zombie.
That was when it caught my eye.
So close it was, a good yard or two away, I'd wager. The grass was moving beside an unspent pallet. Odd. Why was it moving? I strained my eyes- and then I saw it. The paper white, twisted visage, truly a Ghost's Face, hovering in the night.
He had been there the whole time.
It was too late to react first to fall was David. Feng followed suit. I ran for my life, praying to my mustache that I would make it out alive. I stopped to attempt a safe pallet loop, but by the time I'd turned around, he had already swung through the pallet.
Boom three survivors downed before a single generator popped. Claudette dced. We lost. That genuinely scared the poptarts outta me.

The red border is more uniform. I think it looks nice

I said IF you don't, this post is clearly about the killer experience and you chimed in with a weird thing about how you use off-meta perks as survivor. We KNOW survivors can use ######### perks because survivors have all the power and control in this game. So maybe you should say something from your killer perspective since that is very obviously what everyone is talking about.
Again, this is not a Killer's viewpoint only discussion, survivors are welcome to chip in their two cents.

I used to main her, but with all of these changes, I'd love to main her again.
Pig never really felt like I'm making the survivors play the Game. This would change that.
That's always been my personal vision for pig. To have her stand apart from other Killers by making the match truly different from the usual run, loop, gen, repeat.
"You can wander around, trying to find and memorize box locations, but in doing so, it costs your team valuable time.
You can focus on the objective and possibly risk your own life save that of another.
For every second you stand indecisive, your team inches closer and closer to defeat, your teammates die around you.
What is most important? Progress and teamwork? Or caution and self preservation? Live or die?
Make your choice."
But unfortunately its just the same old loop, pallet, vault, deadhard, slide, repeat. Oh I have a trap on my head? Stealth around for a few seconds instead of doing gens guys, im gonna get some extra points by removing the non-pressuring mechanic on the second try, thus nullifying half the killer's functionality.
Shame.
-
I respect Almo's opinions on Pig but I simply don't agree. Some or all of the following changes need to be made:
Survivors' ability to see Jigsaw Boxes should be stunted until trap activation as BASE KIT, not as iri addon.
Survivors should NOT be able to remove the trap until the timer starts. How can one play the Game when it hasn't even begun?
Remove survivors ability to see how much time they have left. This could be base kit or a rare or iri addon. Either way is fine. Slowdown the timer to balance, but speedup the beeping just to make them panic, therefore capturing the intensity of a Saw trap.
Broaden RNG. Trap should almost NEVER come off first try.
Buff Amanda's letter. Extend the range of the aura reading ability. Balance by shortening ambush distance and removing all RBTs, remove jigsaw boxes as well.
Decrease the amount of addons that effect RBTs, add more that change stealth and ambush.
Boop physics. Squash that snoot.
RBTs should have more than one timer trigger. Being healed and unhooking other survivors come to mind. Killer stuns as well.
Remove survivors ability to leave the match by gate or by hatch with RBT on their head, active or not. Add Jigsaw box just outside gate thats only useable during EGC that guarantees removal, to balance.
Make Piggy, nay, make SAW great again!

Wait I'm confused, I thought now chargless key don't open the hatch that made fd more relevent now what have I missunderstood ?
Nope. The key can still open the hatch with zero charges, as the charges of the key itself only affect its aura reading abilities.
-
I don't run Franklin's. I used to from time to time, but now that it no longer counters OP keys, its a junk perk like Hangman's Trick or Crowd Control.
All I think when I see an Ace in my lobby these days is "Man, when are they gonna give him an Elvis skin?"
-
Definitely has to be Plague, no contest, at least for me.
-
@ChurchofPig said:
Although I understand the want for this, the skins the new voices are for, are for skins we're paying $15 for and were designed to be different characters altogether. Both of these cosmetics, although based on outfits worn by Hoffman and Rigg, were designed to be something Amanda wore (even if she didn't actually), if that makes any sense. In other words, if they're going to do that, I'd like them to actually be Hoffman/Rigg/some other Jigsaw or Jigsaw Apprentice.
This is why I suggested the Legion route. Same Killer, canonically different character.

Deception is not even a bad perk, what kind of logic is that? Survivors also have the luxury of bringing whatever meme build they want because there are 4 of them. It doesn't matter what perks they bring. One is in chase, the other 3 are pumping gens. You don't need a meta build for that. Killers in red ranks on the other hand are required to bring gen slowdown perks to even stand a chance.
If you don't have any killer perspective about this issue, you should stay out of it. This isn't a discussion for survivor mains.
While I appreciate the empathy, I ultimately have to disagree. This discussion is after input from both sides, though this particular person seems to have a narrow perspective.
Going into every game, the Killer knows its 4 on 1, and therefore at a disadvantage, but the balance should have been found in the difference of power and control.
However, many killers (like Pig, poor, poor Pig) have powers with NO control, based entirely on RNG. Killers should have a wide range of powers between them, yes, but those powers should each be strong enough to warrent using them over the others. This is not the case. The meta is, was, and always will be loop countering at high rank, narrowing the list of Killers you can actually play to even feel remotely relaxed.
Got kind of off track, but yeah. Killer has much more stress, but survivor input is important.

May I ask why you think he's.. dumb?
It wasn't a particularly good movie. He was your stereotypical ghost story with a hookhand, and don't get me started on the bees. Yuck.

Candyman is dumb. I never understood people's fascination/desire to have him in this game anyway.

Yes, as a solo survivor, I have to be "sweaty".
I'm at red ranks, more often than not, I have bad teamates, even worse if theyre in a swf.
If you consistently get 4k, what is the issue with "sweaty" survivors?
At red ranks, if you don't play "sweaty", you're just going to lose, and losing as survivor means less at least 5k points, which as a survivor, is quite a lot.
Killer is stressful yes, but so is solo q. A lot of killers like to make it out like solo q isnt real, and all they go against is 4men swf, but reality isnt like that.
The issue isn't victory, its how the mindset of all players involved sucks all the fun out of it.
-
You'd think they'd do something about it.
-
Im just glad I can play Cybil now that they fixed her face. Im so happy she doesn't look like Amy Poehler anymore
-
I got 2 mori with hag rituals last week.
-
I had a match recently where I was Trickster. Someone opened the hatch with a key mid chase, I closed it, got into another chase, and they did it again. Two keys.
Two
Keys
Proposed solution. Don't change keys... BUT, make it so that hatch DOES NOT SPAWN until there is only one survivor left.

You have to love how you can't even say "B" on the forum in reference to one of the killers already in the game lmao
Its a well established fact that people around here can't handle strong language.

I just got a pallet hit on a Nea as Blight, where it made the noise, her icon changed, and she even screamed in pain.... then when pallet stun was over she had full health like it never happened.
-
Yeah well, unfortunately for us console players, the Devs dont want our satisfaction, they just want our money. Pc will always take priority for them.
-
Yeah well, the last time we put in a decent anti-gen killer, survivors complained and had them nerfed into passive potato status.

There is.
It's called farming.
You're technically not throwing matches, but as long as you don't get hooks, you'll get points and a depip.
But to me that is so boring to do everyday that I'd rather just play normally and risk the sweaty crowd.
Yeah, but that doesnt work for someone who just wants to have fun.
-
@BingBongMan said:
Been stuck in red ranks for about 3 years now. I wish I could go back. I like being able to chill in matches.
Instead red rank survivors seen intent on making the game as fast and unfun as humanly possible for killers.
I wish there was a way to depip without actively throwing matches or leaving the game for an entire year.
-
Mendez for Nemesis when?
-
There are some I've found who break that rule. For instance, Pig in the right hands can be fun both against and as in the same match. Trapper too, even Hillbilly. So there are grey areas, at least in my experience.
-
On console, Blight beats nurse, I can say that much for certain.
-
Unhooking someone in the Killer's face is never smart. There's a reason both saveable phases have a timer. Waiting for someone to unhook to gurantee an injure, then downing the person who got off the hook is just good tactics, and no, its not tunneling like some people say.
Sounds like Jillybean and guest could use a lesson in common sense.
-
@Altarf said:
Yeah, it does. If it didn't then you would quite literally never see a Cage used - who wants to hook a survivor 6 times?
The ideal buff to Cages would just be part of an add-on rework. Add-ons that delay the aura of the Cage being shown to survivors for 10~ seconds, or make everybody Oblivious for as long as someone is in a cage, or something.
These are good ideas. Other than being immune to ds or skipping the carry phase, cage's aren't really good for much. There should be more enticing reasons to get survivors barb-wired, though its not exactly ruining the character.
-
People are overreacting. In time, we'll all get used to the layout, just like we did with Midwich and Hawkins.
-
I solo qued four times yesterday, and in every single one, one or more survivors dced in early game.

You'll get used to it.
