  • Interesting enough. Maybe they get injured, but if you down one, the other goes into deep wounds and screams to reveal their location? That way you aren't guranteeing two downs for one chase.

  • Monitor and abuse is crazy good on him, nurse's calling/sloppy butcher, while strong on everyone, is good on him especially for planning quicksnipes around corners or through corn. BBQ is great for keeping yourself in chases.

Best addons you can run are double reload speed. Remember, the survivor can't loop you if its ALWAYS tied to you by a chain.

  • The build that's really been working for me at red ranks is the I-Hate-Generators build, since it counters the genrushing that occurs when you play such a tactical killer.

Surveillance, Pop Goes the Weasel, and Oppression for maximum gen control and survivor location, Save the Best for Last for getting quicker downs.

For addons I use Tampered Timer and Crate of Gears, both are purple addons. Some people say its a toxic combo for increasing lethality, but as you get into higher ranks, you'll find it only serves to add more pressure. They usually get it off before dying... though its been known to get one or two head pops on occasion.

Though you don't necessarily need a specific offering, I like to use my oak offerings, just to keep the game going faster.

    Hope this helps.

Entity forbid some people actually get excited about new content, how dare they.

I did say its okay to be excited. This is just a fair warning. I want to make it clear that this post is NOT meant to put anyone down, I just believe that if we can all go into the new chapter with this in mind, maybe we can all be less ravenous about it.

  • Because fanservice is more important than meaningful development to a company that values monetary gain over the moral satisfaction of a job well done.

  • Yeah, I've noticed that two. Killers like Blight, Twins, Demogorgon, Nemesis, and Pyramid head have special abilities to let them get hits, but those hits dont work because someone turned left.

i agree, it's very new and refreshing, tho..this post sounds sarcastic and i actually like the map

Not actually sarcastic. I meant it.

  • Solo que is terrible only by comparison to SWF. Its important to remember that this game is, in essence, a 4 v 1, and giving the side that outnumbers the other comms boosts their chances even farther. For solo que, its hard to formulate a plan when you don't know what perks your team is running, or where on the map they are.

  • I always bring Small Game if I can. Not to get rid of ruin necessarily: I just hate Noed, and like to prevent it.

  • Why Wraith? You never see him, lol.

I think Hag needs an update, both in her visuals and animations. She's a bit too cartoony for my tastes as she is currently.

I'd also like a model update for Pig's base skin, namely hair physics.

  • I like RCPD. I always love learning new maps, and this one is such a mold breaker. I mean FOUR whole levels?! How cool is that?

  • Sure, its useful for passive gen regression/control, but if the survivors find it, they just remove one of your perks, and I hate to dedicate half my build to its protection with undying.

If I really wanna control gens, I just use the I-Hate-Generators build (Surveillance, Pop, Oppression).

  • Mothman could be interesting, but they'd have to find some way to convey the uneasy, existential dread that surroundd his legend. It would have to be more than undetectable grabs and jumpscares.

  • It honest-to-goodness pisses me off that we didn't get Carl the Cashier in game.

  • As a console player of both sides, specifically playstation, I can honestly state that crossplatform has never had any effect on how I treat survivors/killers have treated me or my team. Sounds like an isolated incident.

That change wouldnt allow the 4-man hatch escape Achievement/Trophy to be possible, and changing achievements is for some reason very insanely difficult on the consoles. Microsoft and Sony both resist it mightily, and I'm not really sure why, but they do.

The fact that the devs acknowledged this possibility and even made it an achievement is disgusting in and of itself.

  • Spinning is irritating, but I do agree with you. Managing to evade Blight's lethal rush is hardly an impressive feat, as it depends completely on the Killer's skill and not your own.

Just another salty survivor for the pudding.

  • Ah, yes, another this-sided that-sided post. Though I agree that Killer is the more stressful role by far, I don't believe the game is skewed to one side significantly enough to be biased towards one side.

  • Only one thing csn balance keys, and that's making it so the hatch ONLY spawns when theres one survivor left. That way keys are reduced to a last-hope item for the final survivor.

  • I have to say, though I disagree that it would exactly fit, I have to admit you could do a lot of cool things with it.

Having the survivors running around in a ratmaze underwater makes for a cool and spooky aesthetic. I can also see Big Daddy charging whatever his power is by having his little sister drain survivors of Adam.

Out of the box, but not unwelcome.

  • I think they should give him a new chase theme. That or make the Halloween theme persistent while he's in tier 3

I don't like FNAF, to me that game marked the biggest decline in the horror game genre in a long while.

Now instead of having games with good story, unnerving environments and tense encounters we now have streamer horror. AKA jump scare hell. I feel like FNAF is a major contributer to that trend.

Sure for the audience watching your favorite personality get startled in an easy to absorb context is fun, but as someone who doesn't watch streamers at all I want is a game that can make me distressed and uncomfortable, a game that makes me want to turn the lights on in my house or feel an itch on the back of my head as if someone were watching me. I enjoy horror as a media to feel scared. All these jumpscare games do is startle you.

A child hiding behind a door saying "boo!' can startle you. It doesn't make it scary. So for me I have more disdain for FNAF than I rightfully should because most horror games that come out now are jump scare hell with none of the effort of making something genuinely scary. So if FNAF comes to DBD I'm just hoping they don't make his power jump scare based, but they probably will because I mean... What else does that game even have?

Tldr; angry old woman screams at the sky wishing to return to a better time that never existed.

Well said. Few games actually manage to capture the dread of true fear. It usually just instantaneous jumpscares that get sensationalized without improvinge. Horror media should keep your heart pounding the whole time.

  • Chris. Now if only you could punch the killer, or better yet, breakable walls.

  • I disagree. Meyers can keep up with the pack in my experience, especially with the strength of his addons.

    New survivor: Tyrone Smith

Expert at dodging death. Was locked in a cell for 8 years with a deteriorating mind.

    Perk 1:

As Time Ticks By- As you progress further and further into the trial, your mind is overwhelmed with panic, and you start to rush.

For every generator complete, the following occurs:

-Generator repair speeds increased by 5%

    -Sabotage speeds increased by 5%

    -Vault speeds increased by 2%

-Skill check zones decreased by 5%

    - Chances of receiving a skill check increased by 5%

    - Failed skill checks add an additional 1% decrease in progress on generators.

The following only occur to the survivor using this perk.

    Perk 2:

    Hour of death:

You are used to being at deaths doorstep, but you know how to avoid it.

When affected by the 'exposed' status effect from a killer PERK, you do not become exposed.

This perk only effect killer perks, not abillities or addons. Only works on one perk per trial

    Perk 3:

    Death Evader

You have become an expert at evading death.

Every time you get hit by a killer attack, you gain a token, up to a maxinum number of 27 tokens. Every time you get hit, Death evader will use three tokens to activate the 'endurance' effect for 5 seconds.

Death evader has a cooldown of 50 seconds.

I made this concept for fun but I would also be very happy to see this in the actual game, then again the chances of that happening are very slim so I don't think it will happen any time soon. I hope you find this concept good. :)

Can you tell me a bit more about how you imagine this character, visually? Clothes, attitude?

  • How funny would it be if they put Victor in a sweater, even if its only for one season? I'd also love to see Clown absolutely CRAMMED into Kate's sweater.

A movie centered around a urban legend set in a area that most horror films never show featuring a ghostly killer that isn't your typical masked slasher or wearing a pig mask but has a simple design and is based on a short story by one of the best horror writers ever.. Yes this is movie is dumb. /s

    Yes.

  • He'd be the first Killer I wouldn't bother getting. The movie is dumb, and his character design is just as bad.

so, after you gain the three tokens, then there used up? like fasttrack?

So like, you store the three tokens up but if you go DOWN you loose your stacks, forcing you to play smarter if you want to keep it. Think of it as reverse Play With Your Food.

  • Ooh, yeah. All staticy and stuff, maybe flickering.

Edit: OR the famous tape recorder.

i was thinking , after the third hit fatal recovery would reset back to 1 token

I think you should use all three at once if its going to provide such a signifigant speed boost.

  • @TheGhostofZgor said:

There should have been at least a Saw charm with this. A Billy puppet or saw blade with a spiral on it or a bear trap. Heck they already got the models for most of these.

I agree, the devs should add a charm. Im a huge Saw fan and I'd love to see more content from the movies in the game. More outfits! More piggies! MOAR!

  • You can just open the gate yourself as killer, unless you were forced to shut hatch early.

Edit: Though I still and always will hold the believe that 99'd gates should slowly regress their progress.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

We already have a flashy, well dressed man with glasses and a nice, fashionable tie.

Although other than that I like it, good job lad.

Thanks, I worked hard on it...

Though technically he's only wearing half a pair of glasses.

  • Knick knack is very unnecessary. Giving survivors the tools to use an already overpowered aura reading item potentially twice as much while also insuring it has charge left to open the hatch is kinda super busted.

Do you think fatal recovery would stack for exhaustion perks? Seems really strong either way, especially against huntress or trickster.

Overall, I'd say creative, but far from balanced.

Do More Objectives Build: Franklins, Hex Undying, NoED, Haunted Grounds. Crate of Gears+Extra jigsaw box. (Fun build, mainly focused on giving survivors extra things to do and if they don't do them or if they do do them, they die.

Stop Everything!: Thano, Dying Light, Sloppy Butcher, Franklins. Crate of Gears+Bag of Gears (Oppressive snowball build....basically stops the game as soon as you get injuries and hooks rolling. People get injured, stay injured, and stay mad at the extensive time needed to take off a bear trap...or do anything really)

All My Friends Are Dead: Knockout, Infectious Fright, Deer Stalker, Hex Third Seal. Face Mask+Rusty Attachments (This is a slug build. Tag and down a survivor, move onto the next one, tag and down them. Keep tagging people, all survivors are then completely aura and hook blind, slug, hook, slug, then hook. Its a simple parlor trick, but brings enough chaos into a match to completely throw survivors off of their altruism game.)

I got tons more but don't feel like writing a book today...

Thanks, these are exactly the sort of creative ideas I'm looking for. I'd certainly like to hear more of them at some point but I will give these a try. Loving the names too.

  • Keys. Thats it. I don't tend to change my playstyle for the game based on what I see in lobby, but then again I'm almost always doing something else and not paying attention to the screen.

  • @JPA said:

The thing is you have a paid skin on Trapper, not to mention three tier 3 perks from other Killers including Bubba, Plague, and Clown. So it's not as if you are brand new to the game. Is rank 13 the highest you've ever been?

(I mean just playing devils advocate here. I know the matchmaking is broken where ranks are concerned, but this has been well known for a while now, your rank 13 is meaningless anyway as anyone who takes a break from the game for a while will drop down to those ranks, so you could just as easily play Survivors who are low ranked, but actually have hundreds if not thousands of hours of experience)

What does the skin have to do with anything? You can be a rank 20 player with no perks and still buy that skin for Trapper.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

Gonna take a bit of a different stance here.

Run Combat Straps, Shattered Syringe, Whispers, Monitor and Abuse, Enduring, and then the last perk is a bit of a wild card (Brutal, I'm All Ears, BBQ, whatever).

Whispers + Monitor on Pig does a ton to enable her stealth, as when you're approaching a Gen, Whispers will turn on and you can crouch, keep going, and know that there's a Survivor there that you're going to ambush. Combat Straps and Syringe do a lot to make using your Dash mid chase actually work, and Enduring is just nice for allowing you to play more aggressively in chase.

Yes this build is lacking slowdown, but that's what Pig's hats are. Also if you have to, the wild card slot could be Pop or Oppression or whatever.

I've been trying to get Monitor on pig for ever. I'm p3 level 50 and STILL no monitor in my bloodweb! Come on, Entity, throw me a bone!

Tampered timer and that one purple addon that adds an additional jigsaw box.

Run Ruin, Devour, undying, and thrill.

The idea is to slow down the game by overwhelming the team with objectives, do gens but get hats off while dealing with undying so you can stop devour and ruin. all while cleansing speed is really slow. If you intterupt the cleansing, they have to start from the beginning again, same with searching. Because of all of this, heads might pop, or devour will start killing. very fun and gets the survivors running for days.

Sounds hectic. Im definitely gonna give this a try.

  • @Mr_Madness said:

Maybe when you know your about to lose a gen find a survivor and down them so the trap will activate so they now have to be focused on getting it off rather then other things.

Well yeah, but I mean theres gotta be some creative perk builds out there.

  • I've noticed that too. Heck, even that giant vehicle next to the resort doesn't have it, and its literally a perfect rectangle.

  • I found the strength to boot up Dead by Daylight again.

    That's a win.

I've certainly had ######### matches in dbd, but that's also because dbd is a pvp game and not every game is going to fun.

It's not like you are only playing the match you were tunneled out of either.

If you can't handle the fact that sometimes pvp games have sucky matches then maybe it's just not your kind of game.

This is pointless. Clearly we're not getting anywhere. You feel like you have to tunnel. I don't. End of story.

Then you are low ranks and lack enough hours. Maybe play a bit more and learn to go against enough good teams that you need it.

Am I saying you need it every game, no.

But when your against good survivors, which you obviously haven't been against, then you will.

And what's this about "going out of my way"? I don't go out of my way, I'd be going out of my way to not hit the easy target that's only 1 hit rather than two.

"Scummy", you mean like efficient. That's what it is. Efficient. Like genrushing and playing optimally (4 survs on 4 different gens). Is that scummy to, I'd love to hear this coming from the mouth of the physical embodiment of the entitled survivor main who still hasn't said their hours, making me feel again that your lacking experience.

If I can consistently 4 k at ranks 5 and 4 without doing it, I dont think that makes me inexperienced. But whatever, you do you.

  • @Crowman said:

Tunneling and slugging aren't happening to specfically make a single player miserable.

You are taking tactics killers use to help win games as personal attacks when they aren't.

You ever been tunneled? It sucks the fun out of the game. You know what fun is right? The whole reason we play games...?

Not saying its personal, its just kinda a jerkish way to go about it when a skilled player can do just as well without tunneling.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 15
