  • I play with Monstrous Shrine on the base kit Leatherface. I didn't have an issue with it. Most try and escape on their own assuming no one is coming and it hoses them.

You can't put it to them with such complexity. Can you try and use simpler terms when teaching them?

Killers have no idea what is coming until they get hit with that DS. The DS "Nerf" is not going to go the way people think.

Only camping/tunneling killer got hurt by that change. My advice: learn to tunnel/camp less. Endgame is the exception, but devs want to rework endgame anyway

Survivors have no idea what is coming until they get hit with first down with no DS available. The DS "Nerf" is not going to go the way people think.

Now that you can not take the killer on a second expedition through the map you will have that time dedicated to camping you out of the game. Or you can be Mori'd as you lie there snickering that you have DS. NOED will be there waiting for the final 2-3 as the gens pops.

My advice? Work on your suffering tolerance as it is going to get painful and raw. Have a nice day.

It won’t work like that, they won’t remove SWF as an option, they can’t monitor or control verbal communicating outside of their game.
Killers need to play or leave, not keep flicking through lobbies until they get what they think is a group of solo players, and then kick off when the solo players DC because op add on dr has offered up the game map ;)

The issues killers raise with SWF, are the same counter arguments they use when survivors complain about perks.. baffling!

What do you mean, it won't work like that? I didn't even provide a solution, I simply said the SWF issue needs to be fixed. Are you saying SWF can't be fixed in any way?

Of course is can be fixed, the question is How?

No, Killers complaining about SWF is NOT the same as Survivors complaining about Perks. How did you even come to that conclucion dude? One complaint is about perks being used, the other is about 3rd party softwares being used to gain crucial ingame advantages. Seriously, how can you compare those things? The logic of the users here is just ridiculous sometimes.

It's not bad logic, it's apathy and a desire for Behav10r to force killers to play in unfair circumstances so they can bully the killer with their friends for laughs. Or in other words, it isn't accidental. It's dishonest and with an agenda.

You make a joke out of it but this forum is filled with killers that lobby dodge all the time for a list of reasons that have 0 to do with ping. I get lobby dodged a lot less when I play solo. If I’m in a group a considerable amount. Coincidence? I think not.

    I hope so.

The SWF issue needs to be fixed, lobby dodging is just the Killers way to adress it. The more Killers dodge, the bigger issue SWF becomes and the devs are sooner or later forced to take actions or the people run away.

No, killers don't need to do anything that isn't in their prerogative. I know your lobby queues suck sitting in a 4 man but that's your issue.

I don't need your attention my man. I have enough intellect to make a post and get responses by stimulating people mentally. Players would just bring an anti-doctor build or an anti-Trapper build with Small Game and generally make underpowered Killers even more useless. It’s a matter of what you think is important to bring at all times, not what you need for just one game and then swap your perks the next and so forth. While Killers get an advantage being able to see the Survivors, they don’t know what they’re really bringing...With how many different variants of items there are for Survivors to use, Killers can easily mind-game themselves before a match by trying to figure out what a Survivor is bringing just by how they look and what is in their hands. It wouldn’t be fair to bring a key and not have the Killer know there’s a chance that 1 to 3, depending on how many gens are done and who is still alive, could easily just escape after gen rushing. You just need to generally go along with what you’re given, not what is known.

Like I said they can also make it where the killer can’t see us. They can change their build accordingly but I can’t? Okay not fair. Fair is fair is fair. I’m okay with either or. Do you think bringing a mori Bc you see a bunch of medkits, toolboxes etc is the ability to last minute in Franklins is fair? We get in there not knowing who the killer is or what they brought. We don’t have the option to lobby dodge for an easy game but killers do Bc they can opt out if they don’t like what they see. Is that fair? Is that balanced. I can argue balance for survivors like you can killer.

    DCs though.

They should give tokens for DCs. I am pushing this in this forum lol

Sooner or later they are going to have to punish DC hard. Right now the punishment is so far off that it has no noticeable effect in games. It affects both sides though so they will sacrifice that group for the rest. If it only affected killers I'd worry it would be ignored, but it hoses the other survivors and as Behav10rs pet group that is not acceptable.

Yes the killer isnt responsible for the survivors fun, thats why I want BVHR to decentivize tunneling to help decrease the number of killers who do it. You still have failed to address the issue that being tunneled is unfun and unrewarding as a survivor who are players too and necessary for the game and should be considered in a minor change like this which would be similar to the penalty for chasing around a hooked survivor.

I take it you dont play survivor much.

Being looped is unfun and unrewarding. C'est la vie.

Killers should not be punished for playing efficiently. This is an absurd idea.

This is exactly my point. Tunneling isnt playing effectively because if they are injured they often will heal and thus not doing gens and allowing you to pressure other people. As someone who plays both sides this game is about fun and tunneling just ruins peoples day. Think about it man, or go play survivor upto lvl 40 youll see how it feels.

Except it is playing efficiently because spreading the love doesn't remove a survivor from play and removing a survivor from play increases the map pressure with a bonus of one less person available for rescues.
Not healing is the new survivor meta.
Just to make a point, why use moris? Isn't it to remove a survivor from play? What does it do to the chances of the remaining?

  • @Sel said:
For a forum that seems dedicated to hating SWF and trying to increase solo play, when it comes to things that actually cripple solo you all disregard solo players. NOED as a solo player sucks. Not everyone is a 4 man swf on voice chat, some people (myself included) play solo mń ost of the time and get slapped by NOED. I always cleanse totems I see, but no one else seems to on my team. Seeing as a lot of killers are adamant it shouldn't be nerfed, there should be some form of actual in game communication mid-match. Chat, voice, anything that isn't 2 generally useless emotes which seem to be used more for joking around.

That's a strawman. You don't remove what perks a killer has to deal with SWF to help solo players out. Those SWF aren't going to suddenly roll solo. They'll just exploit the new ease at the end game. Dangling carrots isn't going to fly. As I recall when SWF was introduced people stated how it would be exploited and the other side promised it wouldn't. It last for a week or so.

I believe there are two camps. One doesn't like it because they're bad and it makes them feel bad and one doesn't like it 'cause they believe it carries killers who aren't too good at the game.

How does one get caught and downed by a bad killer? Unless of course, one is a bad survivor.

NOED gives killers a boost in speed and a one-hit down. How does one get DSed by a bad survivor? The purpose of those perks at this time is to give the killer or the survivor an easy mode. You're moving faster AND getting a one hit down. If you can't get anyone or everyone gets out with those conditions, I don't know what to tell you. It's like they're putting on training wheels and you're still tipping over the bike.

I don't agree with NOED giving you an easy mode as you do have drawbacks to it. You are literately giving up a perk for the majority of the game except the last bit of end game. It being both cleansable and having no effect through the majority of the game i would argue isn't a horrible balance. A little tweaking perhaps could be done. It suggests to me more a change of strategies though, that stealth becomes the more desired style once those gates are powered.

People often use it if they don't have good perks, aren't used to/comfortable with a killer, or are generally bad. We have cases where the killer kinda needs it 'cause they need a buff, but those are cases where I've seen people using the perk. Personally, I don't usually care if NOED is used. It's annoying on good killers (like Nurse or Billy), but you can usually sense it coming a mile away. I just know some have issues with it 'cause it gives people an easy kill at the very least, even if they play the game poorly. I've seen people compare it to Adrenaline. Do you think that would be a more apt comparison?

Hmm perhaps so, and I can see the hate for it in lower rank especially. Not quite sure why Billy would have it since he has so much map pressure and a 1 hit KO already, but on the nurse yeah.

I don't usually see him have it. Not very often, at least. That 1 hit down is quite nice for him.

But it's a NOED that can't be removed, is active the entire match from the first second to the last, and comes with a huge speed boost! See the issue? NOED gives less competitive killers a means to average out their kills. Without NOED you can believe camping would reach new heights. The first caught is going to die in many cases.

Did you quote the wrong person?

No. Billy has a permanent Super NOED the entire match. There will be future killers with 1 hit downs. There are others who can run addons to do it. The only killers that need NOED are the ones without and genuinely do need a 1 hit down ability.

Yupp. Instead of perks or items you need something far more important called TIME. Take a look at my calculation on page 1 then come again. Well it's a good thing Survivors have unlimited time while the killer doesn't. Start the gen rush after you cleanse the totems! You lot don't have any issue telling a killer to git gud when the gens can be popped in three minutes. No valid argument as usual. I'm talking about solo survivors who will not communicate. Obviously you can not tell 3 strangers how to play the game (especially on console as there's no pre- or post game chat) so if you want to counter noed you'll have to do it yourself which takes approximately 4.5 minutes according to my calculation (give or take).

I never play SWF so remove it whenever you want salty boy. My point remains. Noed is a trash op perk that has NO counter for solo players as time is the main factor of dbd.

No, you have no point. You have a determination to berate the community with a whinge. I'm under no delusion I'll change your mind but I don't have to. I'm fairly sure noed will get nerfed as it got changed multiple times. It used to have a timer. Given the fact every neutral player dislikes noed I don't see why it it shouldn't get changed again. Be prepared to lose 😂. But then again: People like you 1k despite running ruin AND noed on every killer anyways 😂

The level of self delusion you guys suffer from is sad. But not accepting NO as an answer won't change the outcome.

But newsflash, while SWF is a problem, 4 competent survivors can do the same thing if they play efficiently. Depip squad shows us this. I just watched a stream where a very superb anti NOED killer threw the game from Depip squad because he knew he had no chance. His validation was that they were not playing to have fun so it didn't prove anything. No, it proved that when survivors want to bust your ass they can do so at will.

One gets DS'd by a bad survivor because a good killer has downed that bad survivor and that good killer can do nothing but eat the DS. The bad survivor had to have been caught by the bad killer to have NOED affect them. You really failed in epic fashion with that one. Last I checked moving faster doesn't reveal the location of a hidden survivor in these huge maps we have. I think maybe it's those bad survivors rushing to the gates that get them caught. While complex perhaps more caution in choosing when to and which gate to exit is a possible counter if cleansing gens is too much to ask.

My point was that it's thanks to a perk it happened. It's entirely possible the killer is already in a chase. Otherwise, they can go to the doors or look around the gens. There really isn't a reason for survivors to be away from the door unless they weren't paying attention to where it was or are looking for hatch, I guess. I'm just saying what I and others have noticed. While NOED isn't always used by bad killers, it does give them an easier time where they may not need to learn as much to get higher in the ranks. A slight tweak wouldn't hurt, though I personally don't care when NOED is present (but I don't use it) and it's nice for end game builds.

And there is nothing wrong with that. You speak as if the slightest hint of an easier time, while playing with three perks all match by the way, is somehow a bridge too far when as a survivor the ENTIRE GAME is easy for you. Nevermind SWF and VOIP.

Don't even bring up ranks. 95% of this community's survivors would not get past rank 5, maybe even 10, if not for SWF. Period. And the people know this which is why they even stand against having it removed from ranked. They wouldn't be able to delude themselves they are above mediocre without cheating their way up the ladder.

Well it's a good thing Survivors have unlimited time while the killer doesn't. Start the gen rush after you cleanse the totems! You lot don't have any issue telling a killer to git gud when the gens can be popped in three minutes.

  • If you were downed by NOED, just be honest, you were an easy kill to begin with. You were lax with your own stealth, carefree in the heartbeat in most cases, and were cheeky because you thought the game was over.

While complex, perhaps more caution in choosing when to and which gate to exit is a possible counter if cleansing gens is too much to ask.

If you’re getting tunneled you’re going down in 40 or less usually.

But 60 is fine I think if the killer gets a visual notification like Pop or MYC. Maybe once the perk activates on a survivor the killer sees a little clock on their icon that counts down (survivors see this too.)

I can’t help but think how rough it would be when you do play fair but you run into your last victim at say second 58/60 and then get dsed for being unlucky.

Or especially end game. Won’t survivors get a free escape with ds?

Of course they will. But the devs are super cucked by bad review bombs and will always offer a way out when they make a change to survivor. They also made the change in a way that make a lot of strong killer builds much less devastating.

Why is everything the developers do a complete screw up? This change is probably one of the best out there and I'll say it's even better than my DS rework.

Additionally, why is any buff/nerf a killer versus survivor war? Instead of ranting, offer feedback like the OP is doing.

Hopefully this didn't come out as rude.

Because having DS with a gate open means the survivor is walking right out of the gate. A minute is a very long time to crawl. Further, versus perks like Remember Me the killer doesn't get additional time from hitting a new obsession but still endures the penalty of the new obsession opening the gate unhindered. With Dying Light the new obsession removes the penalty instead of stacking. Meaning the killer is punished twice with the each Decisive Strike, once by losing their catch and again by losing their earned debuff.

They'll get credit when they do something that doesn't involve backhandedly nerfing killers at the same time they make a slight change to survivors. The words counter play are synonymous with "alternative way to be just as cheap" when it comes to survivors and Behav10r.

  • With Enduring the stun should last about a second or so.

In low ranks yes, completely agree with you. I've had lots of matches just like this as a Survivor. In Red ranks it punishes players for doing too well and going too fast and not looking for totems. Some Killers get to red ranks and find that NOED helps with that rush because no one finds it necessary to disable it. Yeah the Killer failed at protecting Gens but he's up against 4 very experienced players who know what they're doing so the game bcomes harder than it used to be.

Watch a little of this stream and after say again that in red rank are too hard make 3-4k. Almost every game 4k with 1-2 gen don.

    http://www.twitch.tv/scottjund/v/376341059?sr=a&t=11066s

Yeah for sure. But then he also knew he was going to lose to depip squad and threw the game. Or rather, didn't choose a killer he could hold his own with as it would justify what they claim. His justification is they were proving nothing because they are not playing in a fun way. Which wasn't true. They just played optimally and to the fullest extent of SWF.

  • Monto, ScottJund (DamnNoHtml@Youtube), TydeTyme, and Tru3Ta1ent.

Monto has the most entertaining presentation. I've wasted hours upon house watching his vdeos when I am bored. I don't watch TV so it says a lot.

ScottJund is a genius and anyone can learn a lot from watching his videos. His approach to the game is methodical in a way I haven't seen from the others.

TydeTyme has a voice for radio and relaxing enough to listen to while heading to bed. I've done so on many occasions. He's reminds me of a psychotic "Newman" from "Seinfeld".

Tru3ta1ent is charismatic and well, talented.

  • Having the devs tell them to shut up and deal with it more or less was most satisfying. ;}

The score at the end says everything that needs to be said.

no it doesn't. That score is easily abused

Nope. You don't get score by doing nothing. It is a representation of everything you did in game which serves much more in demonstrating skill than anything else. Ranks mean even less than the score with the exception of a fresh level 20 that just bought the game.

You can score by doing arbitrary tasks an indeterminate amount of times which may or may not actually progress you towards victory.

Sprint for 2 seconds in the killers terror radius? You get points
Heal someone right in front of the hook and then leave before finishing? You get points
Hook farm someone? You get points

ect ect ect. Points are meaningless because grinding them is too easy and too disconnected from the actual goals of the game

Those are all actions and show involvement in the match. Your personal opinion on what is or isn't important doesn't matter.

Yes but if they progress towards victory or not DOES matter. You can run in circles and partial heal someone all day and be no closer to escaping the trial. Which is the thing the game establishes as the survivors goal

They do progress towards victory. While those things are occurring work is being done towards the victory. Do you believe you sat on a gen unhindered because you are skilled or was it because everyone else was interacting with the killer?

Running in circles in the general area of the killer (you don't get points for doing it in a chase remember) is in no way actually interacting with the killer. It just means you aren't doing a gen AND you aren't in a chase AND you aren't even bothering to hide at the very least in order to survive.

You're repeating the same rhetoric and it is no more true than three responses ago. It's just you superimposing your actions and playstyle as meaningful while others being less so. Consider this. A person can reach rank 1 by doing nothing but hiding all match, without helping at all, and exiting out of the gate or hatch. They can equip perks to make doing this almost 99% successful.

They are not better, they are not rank 1 and they most certainly didn't win.

If you escape you win. Deserved or not. The game has defined winning as such. Also you contradicted yourself, if they reached rank 1 then they are rank 1

Stop acting like this is just my opinion, the game literally says that the survivors goal is to escape, that's not me stating my option but quoting where the game defines the objective of the game

Sorry no. You can think that but just escaping is as simple as equipping anti-tracking perks and staying immersed while others secure your escape. You didn't win anything.

I'm not acting like its your opinion, I'm telling you directly and implicitly it is your opinion.

The game has defined score as winning which is why you have it displayed at the end of the match. The emblem system defines ranking up. If escape was all that mattered it would state Escaped! instead of the score and you would rank up just for escaping.

The only thing we have to demonstrate talent and skill in this game is score. Whether they do gens or own the killer they are demonstrating talent for accomplishing what the game wants you to accomplish. No one cares what Nuclearburrito thinks matters but Nuclearburrito. You should title this "Survivor Approved Rework to Legion". For funsies tell me why in your rework Legion wouldn't just opt to play as a M1 killer and never use their power? With the level of complication and impotence it seems somewhat pointless. Instead of wasting hours writing up reworks, just play the game. You lack the talent or impartiality to come up with something anyone would want to play much less have paid cash for.

"Now that we have separated legion’s power from being able to injure people or down them"

We can boil it down to this. Hello, Freddy, I mean Legion. Except with none of the slowing, a more complicated playstyle, and complete lack of a useful endgame.

    1) By your logic, as a Trapper I should never use his power since I would waste precious seconds using it. No, the potential of catching survivors makes the power worth it. I would assume you had not read the post literally right above yours, if you have, then you are a troll and I would have no further wishes to speak with you.

    2) ...

    3) Read the post. Again.

After reading your post and how pitiful your comparison is I already don't wish to speak with you. Epic fail.

It was not a serious comparison. It was to show you how ridiculous your argument was. I don't know if I failed in expressing this or if you just couldn't tell because of reasons I will not note. I did not fail here my friend, you merely could not comprehend my meaning. Good day.

Yeah, you didn't though. You made a poor comparison as that power end chases or stops them from even having to occur. I comprehended your meaning just fine but you were too caught up with disagreeing that you didn't think your post through.

I altered the 4th song on that list. While I like that one the recording doesn't do the song justice compared to the soundtrack. The altered choice is a tribute to Dolores O'Riordan who sadly was meant to do that recording with the group and died that very day prior to arriving at the studio. RIP. She defined 90s music in my opinion. Meaning when you listen to them it takes you back to that time in a way many others can not.

If you're talking about the one where they put survivors in one bucket so they all showed up at the same time at the lobby, then no. They said in a devstream that it wasn't the way they were going to go. This was likely because people would lobby dodge thinking everyone is SWF because they don't read the forums. That's everyone's best guess as to why at this moment.

It's a waste of time anyway as even if they do that the next dodge will simply be based on items. If people were to even stick around and endure 24/7 SWF you can be assured they would dodge until the item loadouts were nil. Couple that with a killer meta shift to reduce chest spawns.

There is no solution plausible to force people to play against unfair circumstances unwillingly. It will be the same if they try it with dedicated servers. Making everything blind will simply result in killers having the average kills dwindle to 1 or lower and there no longer being a workable killer population.

The survivor community can threaten negative reviews, scream and shout, stomp their feet, DC, rage on the forum, whatever they care too. There is no way the devs can force people to play a game on a side setup to lose for the "good times" of a group. Survivor taunts at the end of the game hammered most of the nails in that coffin long ago as there is a bitterness ingrained into the two communities that will never be repaired.

Let me simplify this for some of our community that has trouble understanding what a workable "rework" is. If your idea for a rework boiled down has the killer take more time, work, or gaming finesse to down a survivor than a simple M1 click and bloodlust your rework is complete garbage. Does this apply?

I guess Nurse, Huntress and spirit are garbage then

I guess your ability to cognitively understand the difference is lacking. Can they down survivors faster than running around with M1 and bloodlust? Are they complicated in application?

Nurse, Huntress and Spirit both take more finesse than basic 115% killers.

To answer your new question both all 3 of those classes and these reworks can down survivors faster than M1 + Bloodlust

Then perhaps you have workable reworks. The only caveat would be if to do so requires level of play only a handful of people can pull off. Meaning as example, Legion can down faster than m1 and Bloodlust but would be completely blind doing so and required you to hear the survivor and guess where they are. That level of complication would not be workable as 99% of the player base would be completely ineffective in playing it. It's a grey area but while grey it is recognizable.

  • It's good for deranking. Equip it and you'll find you lose no matter how well you play so you don't feel like you have to AFK during the match.
