  • My point is that it's not fun for survivors to die on their first hook, tunneling is a legitimate strategy and there's nothing to discourage it which means it happens all the time and causes toxicity.

Once again you have failed to point out a flaw in my argument.

My point is what is or isn't fun to survivors means absolutely nothing. Repeatedly chasing the same survivor through loops and pallets is not fun. Losing isn't fun. Survivors fun is not a speck more important or relevant than a killers fun. The game produces unfun moments for both sides and personal skill determines who is going to have that occur the least. Not hard coded 2nd chance mechanics.

The flaw in your argument is that you believe your fun is relevant to the balance of the game or workable mechanics. It isn't and is nothing more than an emotive meme.

  • How about you get good? They aren't removing any more of her blinks. It's really that simple. The Nurse is designed to blink around and with good addons, quite a bit. It is her "je ne sais quoi".

"Not dying on your first hook do to an unsafe hook rescue = entitled." Nice one.

The purpose of a video game forum is to discuss ways to improve the game, telling people to "ignore" posts instead of talking about them is disgraceful especially since you didn't even state which part of the OP you disagree with.

Just because you repeatedly as a group bring up the same bad point doesn't make it an issue or worth entertaining. You have no entitlement to a second chance. If you did you would automatically get off the hook and start somewhere new randomly. As long as that doesn't happen you have no entitlement to it. No change you implement will alleviate being targeted repeatedly and taken out of the game and only serve to create unnecessary mechanics and unworkable or exploitable systems.

  • What can be done is simple. You ignore as have been the people that cry and assert their entitlement to a second chance and you carry on as normal. Consider yourself dead on hook. If you do not die then you were lucky.

  • The Nurse will always be at least three blink capable as one of her achievements require it. No, they aren't going to remove the achievement preventing people from attaining it and no they aren't going to trash what people earned. It's a pointless request. It's been whinged over for ages and yet nothing has even budged towards it nor even a suggestion. Build a bridge and get over it.

Sadly they eill not make a "noswf" option.

Nor will they mark swf's in the lobby with icons or whatever.
Both would increasw suevivor frustration and we cant have that.

Killers will sadly have to adapt. And since this change isnt part of the trial, there wont be any balance-compensation.

They will adapt by not playing. No one is going to consistently play 4 man voip squads every game and stick around.

    It is a delusion.

  • All the players whose survivor game begins and ends at pallet looping think Nurse is too strong. It's a git gud issue.

  • Pinhead >Jason. There isn't even a comparison. Pinhead's hooks fit perfectly with the lore of the entity and sacrifice. Lucky for me Cote has Pinhead as his favorite licensed killer that he wants for DbD.

  • Nurse essentially eats a pallet every time she uses her power. Git gud.

Why is everyone bitching about me having 1 post?  this is the first time I made a thread and I will make more in the future, making suggestions and ideas. I also love how no one mentions my other point on how I think strikes should be more skill required and should be vertical to be more precise

Please don't. Your suggestion is terrible and is only from being bad and a justification for your own failure.

  • I run my survivors with their 3 perks plus a complimentary 4th. The reason being they have no power to differentiate them so their perks are their power so to speak. It allows for different playstyles instead of being just a different cosmetic.

    Just break the totem.

This isn't exactly fair to the survivor role. Hear me out, I can cleanse every totem I see but still have NOED activate because my teammates didn't help me (ironically they escape with me facing the punishment). Basically, it's a 1v1 situation (since I'm the only survivor cleansing all if the totems) when the game is built around a 1v4. Knowing this, a single survivor will struggle to find 5 totems since that task is meant for all survivors. Here's a rework I have in mind that's more solo Q survivor friendly while remaining strong. No One Escapes Death:

Progress infuriates you and calls upon the wrath of the Entity. Every time a generator is repaired, gain a 10% haste effect for the next 30 seconds. Upon the completion of the final generator, all pallets remaining in the trial are destroyed.

    Notice: It's not a Hex

Nope. Break the totem. It's one. You can cleanse them all before it even fires. No use for an all pallets broken function when the gens are done as most of the key pallets are already broken and what aren't won't matter as survivors hide until the gates open. As for a 30 second haste, bleh. Useless unless in a chase and even then redundant with bloodlust. Far too specialized to ever equal exposed when you need it. The perk is named No One Escapes Death. Your rework won't live up to that in any sense of the word. NOED affects one group, albeit the biggest, the gen rushers.

People were dumb enough to believe the Nigerian prince scam. I am sure there is some unfortunate soul out there stupid enough to fall for this one aswell.

What are you talking about? My check will be here next week, hater.

  • It sounds as if you were rekt. Letting it happen once is okay, just don't let it happen again. If you do then we'll have to confiscate your honorary killer club membership card.

  • A hate crime does not require speech. Speech is irrelevant sans perhaps further strengthening a case for a hate crime. Targeting a protected group with premeditation because they are of said group is a hate crime. It doesn't require you to have used hate speech prior to doing so only that they prove you targeted them because of being in said group.

Of course videos with you railing against and using hateful words about the protected group before carrying out the crime is going to make prosecution much easier. But you are free to say whatever vile remarks you care to about said group all day long every day and you will never be guilty of a crime only of being an [BAD WORD].

You are not guilty of a hate crime just by being involved in a crime that includes one of those protected group members. Meaning, a fist fight with someone of said group does not become a hate crime even if you win without them proving prior to the fight you purposefully sought out one of that group to fight.

  • The joy of private forums. There are some good things with Steam.

  • @fluffybunny said:
There is still hate speech... freedom of speech doesn't protect that.

No, sorry, there is no hate speech and the freedom of speech trumps any attack on it. People are free to label any speech they choose anything they choose to but there is no legal protection from it.

Companies are private entities even if publically traded so their forums can be censored in any manner they choose. The right to free speech applies to public property and property you own. There are no hate speech laws in the USA and no crime is committed no matter how vile the speech.

  • @Kaelum said:

    @ChesterTheMolester said:
Can we talk about what classifies as "Hateful speech"? Its really vague and kinda sounds like you can be banned for a non existent emotion perceived by a third party.

There is no ambiguity in the meaning of “hateful speech”. It is a legal term that in part refers to derogatory remarks related to religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and many others. In fact, your name in these forums could be construed as a violation, so I’m not really surprised that you are asking this.

@Peanits @not_Queen does his name violate the rules of these forums, and/or of the game itself? I know for a fact that it violates Sony’s rules, if he is on PSN.

That depends on what country you live in. In the USA there is no hate speech as we have the freedom of speech and can say anything, regardless of offense taken as long as life and limb are not in imminent danger for doing so. Do not yell bomb on a plane, do not yell fire in a crowded theatre are examples but yelling for a mob to kill a criminal isn't nor is calling for violent revolution against the government.

A hate crime is willfully planning and carrying out a crime on a person protected by hate crime law. As an example, if you plot to attack a transgender person and do so you have committed a hate crime. But if you so happen to get into a fist fight against a transgender person that is not a hate crime. That is where it ends. Speech is not included.

  • This reminds me of Steam constantly asking the user to input their date of birth to view games. I took a week ban on the official Steam forums (not the Steam DBD forums) in a thread over that issue (flaming for saying "thanks for the obvious lesson in obviousness, Captain Obvious") but in the end Steam now remembers our DOB and we no longer have to constantly enter it.
Basically, companies are under no obligation to censor or protect children and do so voluntarily. Frankly, it is a waste of time but it's on Behav10r to change or not. I mean reading obscene language can't be any worse than viewing an obscene picture and they are plastered all over the internet.
If you let your child online it is your responsibility to police the content they consume not anyone else's. Behav10r nor any other game company in the business of creating violent games are never going to get Parent's Choice award or even so much as a thank you.

  • Taking anything for anyone is never good. I mean sometimes it has to be done but you always have to endure whatever it is you took. It tends to always be negative too as most people don't divert taking something positive to another.

    :)

  • I dont have any issues with Xbox One controllers. Perhaps it's a 360 issue.

Have the devs apparently commented that you need to quit 80% of matches to get banned?

That is what one responded to me. It sounds like nonsense and I hope that isn't true.

I think it is more like 33%.

the only thing that i can see balance for swf its 2 things

1.-make solo survivors have kindred and bond as kit (devs already said that could be in the game but i dont know when)
2.- give more BP for killers and thats it

Giving killers more BP is not a balancing aspect. It's simply a reward for playing in a unfair environment and tolerating the BS that comes with it. It is no different than offering killers double BP to have a 100% loss rate. Once someone no longer needs BP, then what? If BP were all that matters the only perks killers would run would be Thrill of the Hunt, Distressing, Beast of Prey and Barbeque and Chili.

make it that it shouldnt stack with it but i want to hear youre idea cuz if its buffing speed or something similar then no those are my idea killers get reward for PLAYING against swf since ppl still complain swf saying that "its just unfair playing against swf" or "swf should be removed" something similar its just stupid but those are my idea

-1 perk for every member in the group, or plus 1 perk for every member in the group for the killer. That would allow the killer to be a real nightmare against a 4 man VOIP squad or significantly weaken the group. So with a 4 man squad the killer either has 7 perks or the group 1 perk each. 2x2 man groups would each have 3 perks a piece with the killer at 6. This is an issue in a 3 man SWF & 1 solo queue but then they should do away with 3 man groups and leave it 2s and 4s simply to avoid queues where they are trying to fill a lobby in need of a single solo survivor. Consider a 4 man VOIP squad has 16 perks and up to the minute status updates on the killer. A small change is not going to fix that.

Another idea is that 1 additional generator must be completed per additional group member. A 4 man SWF group would need 8 gens done. This requires map adjustments and significantly increases the time of the game.

They could remove SWF from ranked but allow a casual mode that allows BP gain. Frankly this is the best idea as it is not fair for a solo survivor to compete for rank against a group. I see so many survivors smack talking about rank on the forums when almost all of them use VOIP groups to do so while telling solo survivors they suck if they aren't rank 1. Very few survivors are true rank 1 soloist.

It's also not fair to a killer to compete for rank 1 against a killer that dodges SWFs. One is going to have a more difficult time.

There is no easy fix unfortunately. Bribing killers is simply not going to work in the long term as they try to compel people to participate in a losing proposition. I have no doubt they believe they are going to inflict this on the killer community consequence free, but they will learn. A scientific study has shown most humans playing games want a 80% success rate. If SWF becomes the normal and unavoidable competition that success rate will likely drop to about 20% for killers. People will quit.

  • Defending your hooks is the intelligent thing to do. Running around hoping to get 4 before they complete the gens is mostly relying on luck. Eliminating the people you did down is largely removing luck from the equation.
How successful it is depends on how willing the survivors are to being apathetic to the plight of each other, exiting the gate leaving the victim behind, and how willing the victim is to hang there hopeless to buy the rest time.
DbD is a competitive game simulating a murderer and it's victims. Trying to superimpose a fair and sporting environment over it is only deluding and setting yourself up for disappointment.

It's never going to happen. If you haven't been paying attention the new matchmaking settings are going to match make survivors together first then bring them to you as a killer. So until gameplay starts and even when it does you won't truly know if they are swf anyway. So stop with this your complaints have gone ignored just like survivor complaints of wanting BBQ and chili removed or other stupid forms of feedback like that.

Out of curiosity, how long do you think people are still going to play killer when each match they enter is a SWF squad? It's a sincere question. I give it two weeks before it becomes so common and over the top in trolling people stop bothering.

If people complain about it and it is overwhelmingly broken do you think people are going to just continue to click play as opposed to playing something else?

It is very easy to tell a SWF from a non SWF by their performance and often gear. Two toolboxes, a flashlight and a medkit is a SWF. There are other variations such as keys and maps but it's a good start in assumption.

When SWF is no longer able to be dodged people will just dodge the game entirely. They will not endure it just because Mathieu wants to appease the larger portion of the player base. Anyone can tolerate a game or two sporadically, but having it become the normal is simply not going to work.

The game was designed to play with friends. If i remember correctly they just didnt have it added for launch but always said there would be a system. The problem doesnt lie with playing with friends, the problem lies with the voice communication software that is used with playing with your friends and that cannot be removed.

I feel when we talk about SWF we need to be more specific though. I feel the issue lies with 3 man and 4 man SWF. But the unfortunate circumstance right now is you either play 1 of 3 killers to do well against SWF or you spend 500, 1000+ hours in the game to get all the trainable perks, have access to them on all killers and the time played provides more access to the better addons more consistently. At this point of course SWF will be slightly easier.

I feel a loose example would be what if there was a killer and entity player in game. This entity player would have his own tasks with slowing the survivors down, maybe he floats around the ground invisible, the details arent really needed here. Now if 2 friends were playing and not using voice communication im sure it wouldnt be that bad. But now if these 2 friends had voice communication and could tell each other where a survivor is, or what gen they are on, the survivors would scream blue murder.

Like or not voice communication does provide an advantage. Whether it is slight or large does have a ton of variables but still it does provide an advantage. I feel the only real starting point is to add a 5th greyed out perk that only activates with 4 SWF. Then go from there and see where the stats take you.

Edit - A quick edit cause i know a counter point will be why should i punished for playing with friends. On the flip side why should the killer be punished by an outside advantage by playing against people who want to play with friends.

And this has nothing do with killers getting 4 kills per game. I think 2 kills per game is what the game should be balanced towards and expected on average.

If the game were designed to play with friends perks like Knockout would not exist as they are completely pointless with Voip. Soon perks like OoO will be exploitable from within a locker to give constant updates on a killers position while not revealing the holder of the perk.

Perks like OoO, soon to work in locker while hiding your own aura, are going to be completely exploitable by SWF by having someone permanently spot the killer, completely hidden.
This coupled with hidden SWF group joins on dedicated servers is inevitably a game killer. It'll take maybe two weeks before it's SOP and the devs are backed into a corner in how to address it.
Sadly, they do not even have the foresight to see that exploit if you listen to their own words while I can months in advance. I believe their words were something like "if it's exploitable we'll look into it".

  • If Nea were a killer her name would be "The Butterface".
