Whispers is... well there are way better detection perks. Since it only gives you a really rough estimation where a survivor could be.

PWYF is really good with Spirit Fury right now, especially on Myers.

Whispers if you're paying attention you just move back and forth and you pretty much home in on the person hiding.

No, it´s not. The speed bonus you gain stands in no correlation to the time you waste gaining the stacks.
It´s like needing to get chased by the killer, to get the Prove Thyself speed bonus. Several times, and the bonus is only temporary.

THen you're using it wrong since killers that know how to use it best seem to do just fine with it. It's no different than any other perk on either side, use it to it's fullest with other perks and items, or addons with /killer/survivors and you do well.

If you don't use any of those combos to their fullest you don't do as well.

I'm not using it at all. Since it's as powerful as Fire Up.
Constantly have to find and lose the obsession, only to get a small temporary speedboost that goes away when I hit someone.

Killer has to find, chase, and lose the obsession twice for a minor bonus that is gone after 2 hits. Then rinse and repeat.

    Totally worthless.

I get 4ks at R1 most of the time. By the game's scoring system I am clearly better. But I also know that the difference is greater than the game makes it out to be simply because survivors have skill compensating perks where killers do not.

So killers don't have any of the following perks that rewards them for playing skillfully.

    STBFL
    PWYF
Whispers (if you can't find them with skill call 1-800-4ENTITY )

I could go on but to say there's not help or perks that give skilled players more choices etc is nonsense.

If the devs want to punish camping (being one of the features announced since the beginning), then let them.

They'll find out soon enough, that it was a terrible idea. When survivors on high ranks can't find lobbies, since ranking up as survivor is brain dead easy.

Oh yes, high rank killers, who almost never camp to begin with, will suddenly all drop rank because of this trivial change. What a tragedy.

"devs look, I camped with Nurse every game and depipped down to 15, this is ur fault #deadqueue Xddddd"

You make your jokes. But sometimes the killer has no other choice than to camp.

They won't be depipping from it unless they want to.

Just camp and depip all you want. It'll mean HR will be less of a cesspool, and survivors will finally have a reason to pip up. Campers will have an excuse to camp and bully newbies and smurfs. Win win.

Do you REALLY think that high ranks will play ANY different?

I mean you guys complained about killers not having to kill to rank up. Now killers got used so much to camping, just to secure a kill for the Victory Cube, that they won´t really change their behavior.

Killers get gen rushed on high ranks, and the only way to slow that down is to play "scummy" by using moris.

I love how people call moris scummy.

I think most moris are worth losing over. Have you seen that sick spirit mori yet? It's literally worth being the Rancor obsession just to die to the Spirit! :)

Moris are nicely done. I prefer dying to a mori over dying on the hook.

Yes because the last time some ppl threatened not to play a short ways back queues weren't affected at all. I and everyone else on either side just swap to whichever side has faster queues like always. The only time there's long lobby times is early in the AM. Then I like the rest swap for faster lobbies problem solved.

Again the only people this hurts are the jerks that camp at 5 gens then go for 1 more camp after hopefully getting someone to suicide. Those idiots will depip instead of being at rank 1 where they don't belong.

I'd say they'll slow down the rank progress of killers, while keeping the fast rank ups of survivors. This will result in higher queues for survivors.

I don't know since the survivors that screw around but not get close enough will depip as well and so it equals out, the only ones this hurts are the jerks that camp and don't belong there.

Don´t just call them jerks. Remember that there is a human being on the other side. Maybe someone who played fair without camping for the last 2-3 matches, and who got gen rushed and rewarded with a "gg ez" after the match. Some people would just snap and punish the first guy they find.
It´s a viscious circle. Because survivors gen rush, because killers camp. And killers camp, because survivors gen rush.

The root of the problem is, that killers don´t feel like they have the power role. They feel like the party clown for the survivors.
Devs need to address this asap. They need to give survivors additional objectives. Killer feels pressured, when it´s the survivors who should feel pressured.

Sometimes i feel as killer, like i´m the monster in Evolve and 4 hunters are trying to kill me.
    Shouldn´t be that way.

Right now it is a trash tier perk, a 40 second cooldown for vaulting a window?

I would change it to still see all the auras, but the cool down is either significantly reduced or ignored when vaulting a window but reset when dropping or sliding across any pallet. The 40 second timer for one window vault is just too brutal

i would get rid of the timer completley since the new buff to alert is so OP that i will be running it they got rid of the range and timer so now whenever the killer breaks something anywhere you see thier aura for however long it is and there is no limit to how many times this can happen in a short period of time like...... ######### (survivor main)

    They buffed alert to much.
But at least, survivors can't complain about killers aura reading perks... oh wait.

They should buff spies to the same level.

  • Someone was ringing on my door as the gens were completed. So I left the PC while standing next to a gate. I thought, that the game is over anyway. Came back to the PC after half an hour. Someone was standing in front of me, teabagging...

Those kids really like to waste time.

There is no face camping anymore. It simply doesn't exist.

Also, did it ever occur to people, that the killer camps, because he's losing the game?  Because 3 gens got completed by the time he got his first hook? That he's playing defensively, because another chase like the last one will result in 4 escapes?

Nahh, people escape with 11k bloodpoints and still think it was a good game.

There is plenty of people, and these people facecamp even when no gens are done.

But....its been a good night tonight. Strangely. Shame that these good nights seem so few. No real campers and only 2 games with a rage quit or someone who didn't load in.

Edit: Ok no sooner than I had typed that I got a game where Huntress caught Quentin like 40 seconds into the game and just stood there staring at him so he eventually just killed himself on the hook. Great game truly.

    And you didn't unhook?
Since face camping is gone, you could have just unhooked him.

The gen rush is strong. I mostly get into the struggle phase, because survivors prefer to do gens.
Who's to blame? I bet the killer...

  • Never again.
Survivors missed that chance long ago.
I used to let them farm and escape. They only mocked me and reported me.

So no, I'll not show them mercy, because they also wouldn't offer their lives, if all are about to escape.
  • Perk needs a complete overhaul. Maybe give additional points if survivors are hooked in the basement.
Or refused to let survivors unhook until they reach the struggle phase.
Or injure survivors if they unhook.
  • It's not a coincidence that the only viable killers are good without addons.
If a killer needs addons to be a threat to survivors, then he's not only weak, but also depends on the bloodpoint farm from other killers.

Addons should change the way killers are played. Just look at Myers. His addons allow for different playstyles.

They should give an advantage, not make a weakness less affecting.

We need addons for sneaking, going loud, completely reversing the special ability, to farm and to make the special ability extremely strong.

I mean, how fair could this possible be? And if it were next to a hatch, next to a opened exit gate? For how long does one have immunity after kobing?

This time I was not recording the game, unfortunately.

Caveman serial killer. Lock up them cave doors.

That could be kind of fun really. Like a scary Encino Man. Some psychopath caveman that gets thawed out of ice and goes on a rampage.

    Weapon: Club

Special Ability: Rampage - After a short charge time The Caveman charges 10 meters in a straight line. While charging, The Caveman is immune to pallet stuns and will immediately destroy any pallets he comes into contact with. If The Caveman makes contact with a survivor, the survivor is injured and knocked back a large distance. If the survivor is knocked less than a meter before hitting an environmental object then the survivor is put in a dying state from the impact. Rampage has a cooldown of 15 seconds.

    Perks-

Internal Bleeding- Survivors hit by you suffer from Broken status for 40/50/60 seconds.

Concussive Force- Survivors hit by you suffer from Blindness and their vision gets periodically blurry for 60/90/120 seconds.

Broken Arm- Survivors hit by you suffer from injured status for 60/90/120 seconds. Injured survivors have a decreased repair and sabotage speed of 12% and skill checks are more difficult and numerous.

    Mammoth Man!

P3 is only a skin. A skin doesn´t make a char OP. Resticting bloodpoints has only negative effects. It doesn´t remove the grind. Those points have to be farmed first. It doesn´t turn a character OP, because players will have everything unlocked some days earlier. A perkless new character doesn´t give less incentives to play, than a fully stacked new character.

Devs said also, no clowns. Devs said, survivors are supposed to play with random players only. Devs are not adamant on things. If we as a community ask for something, they´ll give it to us.

Who said anything about prestige making characters OP?

You're absolutely right, restricting BP doesn't remove the grind. It encourages it, which is the point. When you cap off at 1 mil, you spend BP on other characters and when new ones are released you save up again to level them up. A perkless new character clearly gives more incentive to play if the player intends to unlock their teachables.

And yes, that's true. Just because the devs said something doesn't mean it's set it stone. They're entitled to a change of mind. But if we're going to ask or demand for things, perhaps we should make our requests a bit more reasonable.

A perkless character doesn´t give more incentive to play. Because you don´t NEED to play that character to unlock his teachables. Right now, people get up to the limit and waste points on other characters they wouldn´t usually spend the points on. Then the character is released, people spend the million points and play some matches to test the char, but then go back to their usual chars, to farm more points for the perkless char. The limit only changes the timeframe. Instead of farming before the char is released, people are forced to farm after the release. Remove the limit, and let people decide when they want to farm.

Btw. the whole bp system needs a rework. The current 8.000 points limit is from back when points were required to pip. The new 100% bonus bp addons make currently no sense, since they award the points during the match. For example, a Wraith with Distressing and The Beast addon gets 2.200 points in Deviousness per hit. Reaching the limit in 4 hits. Either they haven´t thought about this, or they don´t know their perks/addons.
Why should anyone gimp his character with a build like this one, if it doesn´t award points past the limit?

    [insert really rude word]!!
No one would have a p3 character with every single perk as soon as that char comes out. That´s more than 10 million bloodpoints. And even IF someone wants to save say 12 million bloodpoints and spend them on that new character. Which btw. would take a tedious amount of time. So what? Does this in affect YOU in any negative way? Does this make this person better than other players? Does it give a ingame advantage? NOPE!

This is what devs said, deal with it

But it makes no sense to have a limit now. Since the savegame data is stored online.
They removed the shards limit, there is no auric cells limit. Why have a bloodpoint limit?

They explained it already. It's to avoid cases when people save up a crazy amount of points to spend on a character as soon as it comes out. It removes the grind, having all perks from day one may create an impression of him being op and cause unnecessary nerfs. People wouldn't expect 12 killers to have spirit's perks at day one. Which would result in nerfs for her perks. Take a look at Freddy.

So are killers less OP when they have everything unlocked after 2 weeks? Just asking. Because after 2 weeks we have fully stacked p3 killers.

Freddy was nerfed, because rank 20 f2p survivors review bombed the game. Nothing else.

There are several people who manage to P3 a new character the same day they're released and that's with the BP cap. Imagine without it. It takes no time at all, especially with the right offerings or the help of a double BP weekend/SWF mass offerings, to prestige a character. The focus shouldn't be on if they were to unlock all perks but the teachable perks. Without the cap, players would be able to unlock all the teachables for both the new killer and survivor upon release.

I'll just link a thread I opened regarding this.
    Wall of text incoming.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/17043/game-changes#latest

I read this and I agree with mostly everything, I'll give you some criticism and we can talk it out like gentlemen! :)

Yes, there should be a quick play option for Dead by Daylight with a optional voice chat! I like this for many reasons:
-Casuals won't suffer and can still play with their friends.
-It's not sweaty and tryhard, you can just chill out and have fun.

However I don't like the restrictions because it's not preparing the new players for the true competitive ranks when they decide that they wanna see their rank. It's gonna be like hitting a wall when you're not prepared and you get absolutely destroyed since you never knew that this is how the game truly is. I think that everything that's in the game right now is perfect but I'll like to change some things:

Causal: (Everything that we have right now)
    -Notifications are permitted.
-Natural Auras such as seeing a dying survivor aura is permitted.
    -Add-ons and items are permitted.

Ranked: (New restrictions but not as harsh as hitting a wall when attempting rank)
    -Notifications are NOT permitted.
-Natural Auras such as seeing a dying survivor aura is NOT permitted unless you have a item or perk that shows these auras such as Empathy.
-Add-ons and items are permitted but have a weight. For example: The maximum weight a survivor can have is 10. Common Med-Kit is 2, Medical Scissors (Uncommon) is 4, and Bandages (Uncommon) is 4.

Overall, dedicated servers are a much before rank gets a huge overhaul IMO.

Well, ranked needs to be hard and i honestly prefer that new players hit that brick wall after spending months in the casual mode, intead of hitting that brick wall by throwing them right into the shark tank we have now.

I even would go as far and give casual players more gens and hook stages. They could earn more points by casually toying around, without the pressure of ranked gameplay.
Make a big informative screen on the ranked mode, where people can see the main difference and decide if it´s worth it, to potencially earn less bloodpoints, by getting a chance to special season rewards like auric cells or shards.

While ranked needs to be strikt and be longer. Haven even different tiers (copper, silver, gold, etc.) once we get enough players.
This game is incredible addicting but has a low retention rate. So we have veterans with 1000+ hours and players that leave the game after 10 hours. This needs to be adressed by giving players a casual mode and balancing around high ranks instead of low ranks.

Ranking was made to easy, because killers couldn´t find matches after the introduction of Emblems, because survivors refused to change their play style. They suddenly couldn´t pip by looping the killer for the whole match. Which was playing in their favor, since they could stay on low ranks and farm low ranked killers.

So the best thing the devs can do now is, give us casual mode and make ranking up way harder + give an actual incentive to play ranked.

I agree with increasing the BP cap to 2 million it really sucks if you don't get any good benefit from being high level.

There shouldn´t be a cap at all.

Details haven't been confirmed yet. The wiki is great and all, but as it notes, it's not confirmed information, so please withold judgement until we know for sure. There's no sense getting worked up over something that may not even be true.

This reminds me of the last time over a certain event recently where people went wild over unconfirmed stuff posted on the wiki as if it was official. When the date came and went people blew their tops and raged all over social media etc. The people flipping out need to stop hyperventilating and believing every rumour they see or hear and wait for official confirmation before being made to look silly.

Now if people will remember the most recent big event the Summer BBQ there was only 2 special hooks and gens default so people needed to bring in offerings which spawned more of both. Those complaining about there only being 2 hooks and flinging insults need to learn their history.

How dare you, coming in here with reason and common sense?!
Get out, before someone starts to argue with nonsense.

I don't think people realise the only reason -this- game works is because of third person view for the survivors.

It wouldn't be very fun for a survivor if they couldn't see where the killer is when they're running in between certain objects, it would make stealth incredible useless, as the only way you can convincingly hide from something is if you can see it.

I wouldn't mind if they tried it, but I really don't think it would make the game better and would in fact make it unfun for the other side.

I think it could work, just keep the 3rd person view just don't let them look behind them. If they tested it we could all see how it works and you could still stealth it's just that it would be a little more difficult. It could also upgrade the killers mindgame potential around pallets. It would need lots of testing before actually making it into the game though.

I just don't think it would work, honestly.

I think crouching would be okay a third person PoV! However whenever you're standing up, you're gonna be in first person PoV! :)

Sorry m8, when I tbag I don't want to be disorientated by the camera switching, lol.

Honestly though the whole points of ducking is to stealth etc, if you can't see what you're hiding from, less survivors will juke and just opt for always running, making juking harder will only make the "looping" issue worse.

I can count the amount of survivors that knew how to juke me on one hand...
Wouldn't really affect a big survivor population.

But, and I think you'll agree with me, so many killers complain that juking isn't done enough, if you make it even harder no one will do it, there's new survivors that will just think the best think is to run, so if they crouch they can't see anything so stop doing it entirely, imo.

    Meh...
Yes, I agree with you. Don't tell anyone.
