I am genuinely not trying to argue either, but some of the comments are baseless and I wonder whether people actually are trolling because it seems to me progressively over the years, survivors get nerfed…now I don't mind most of the nerfs because I thought I was having a ball. However, when you bring in a character that literally takes away every thing possible for an escape and really oppressive every aspect of the survival game…most notably just our 1 sliver of a ticket out of a bad situation (exhaust perk)…it just makes you wonder, dang I really got play my utmost best…I really don't think I am having the greatest of times. It just became that extra high stakes.

Obviously my memory is a bit foggy on what happened over 1000s of hours of gameplay, but I remember it being triggered twice, so sorry if I got that confused. Mind you, those nerfs happened a long time ago. But the main nerf to it was completely shutting it off at the final gen pop.

Yes, it is pretty strong, if you play a strong early game as the insurance is really nice to have, but at the same time, you have killers still tunneling and still camping. So get off my nuts is what I say to those that do and eat some DS.

i sadly only have half your hours, im very inexirenced, just share a passion for the game

Was playing a few games as killer today and was met with some, lets say, unhappy survivors post game. Now i played the games fairly casual. Didn't sweat for the 4k or hard tunnel anyone yet still they arn't happy (Even had the ole Instant DC because they got sniped thru a wall by vecna).

Why can't we just play DBD for fun anymore. Everything has to be about being top mmr or win streak or going in all guns blazing 4 man sweat squad/killer bring the 4 most busted perks with busted killer.

Honestly the most fun i have in DBD is when i just say screw it and just chill in the game. Stick some fun up beat music on and just play the game. If you lose then so what, you just go onto the next game.

If your incapable of having fun in the game or if your triggered that much by losing then why do you even play video games.

So I ask that next time you boot up DBD grab some goofy perks and roll with. Don't go for the kill or escape but instead make the game your own, have your win condition something else and the escape/kills are just a bonus.

And if you really wanna have fun go play ghostface with Benny hill playing in the background. Trust me it will make your day :)

lowkey i want to do a fan and random thing where i make a post weekly and

select a random killer, with a random build and add ons. and make it like a forum challange for people to do it and see what happens.

I wonder if you are doing the same…but just in case…dead hard used to move you like 3 meters upon use. Decisive strike u used to get over maybe 90 seconds and you got 2 of them. Magic right? Just a coincidence…

I am guessing you are talking about me? If so, I have no idea what my post count has anything to do with this discussion. Those are just posts I made on these forums over many years, discussing all kinds of things regarding DBD.

And is this like all you got intellectually? Just attacking people personally as soon as they express an opinion you don't like?

this guy made fun of people with high post counts in another post saying we basically are the ones stooping devs from looking at those with lower counts. saying that we are killer mains who control the game mechanically pretty much dont listen to him

Whether you’re familiar with the game or not, this character has the potential to generate a great deal of interest as a killer. He actually is strong.

    No other killers has

    1. Mobility so great
    2. Projectile
    3. Zoning ability
    4. Free survivior position reading
    5. Free vault block ability
    6. double hit ability

On top of all those his special ability literally makes survivior stop doing things for long time (especially good with hex ruin).
He can protect hexes very well
    Great at basement camping
Great at camping 2nd stage if surviviors wait till last second
Directional audio cue when he teleports isn't greatest on the survivior side.
He doesn't care much about pallets

AND his 4.6 m/s speed boost is too easy to obtain and long enough to make significant differences.

He just has so much free things in his kit… it's ridiculous.

No one protects this killer but killer mains - every killer main says he is the most balanced killer in the game.

Not a single "full" survviior main agrees.

He makes the games pretty boring - I feel like I start the game all over, crouching somewhere in the map trying not to be found.

I really hope for some adjustments.

As a killer main i will say Jason is way too strong lol, i play both as him and against him and can say i feel incredibly stupid by the way i can end games quickly. he needs a bigger cooldown or something

  • @hlambda said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4091004#Comment_4091004

No, the problem is, BHVR sees how many times you post and consider your opinions over those that don't post as often without regard to level of skill. And thus, we have this disparity of how killers are overwhelmingly taking precedence in the comment section resulting into their influence on how the game should work mechanically.

That is not how it works…

Does not matter how many times you post on the off chance the devs do reply or console us they treat us as equal. even then its still unlikely to actually be taken into consideration unless its a bug report or something outrageous.

I am a killer main, however i do think of the game for both sides, whatever mechanics i suggest are for purely fun and for feedback, i like listening to others ideas and opinions in fact if you look at my posts you would see i have never demanded anything and have not stuck to a certain side of the game.

And if you want my credentials, who i main, how many hours i have on the game ill happily share it

but i assure you, my opinion means squat to the devs

I’m excited to read the hateful thoughts after I post this. This game sucks but there’s still some enjoyment left. For me it’s getting other survivors killed. I can’t count the times I laughed so hard my stomach hurt unhooking right behind the killer to watch someone get hooked again. Object of Obsession, playing on the opposite side of the survivors as the killer is an awesome one too. Then there’s hiding and throwing a pebble at someone while they’re on a generator. The list goes on and on, get creative! The games are a lot faster and way more fun than simply running in a circle until you inevitably get hooked. The. You grab the hatch and call it good. I’m only mentioning this in hopes that I get more players to jump on board with the real fun and ruin it for the whiners.

I personally have to agree, Devour Hope is my personal hate perk on the killers side. It just doesn't feel good to lose to a killer with this perk.

The perk either does baiscally nothing or it wins you the entire match, and I absolutely hate that.

Its The most oppressive hex ever. but it comes with a catch of having to leave. if a survivor sticks around or what not they can easily deny it

yes the torches do have a timer of 15 seconds before it runs out and spawns somehwere else. also I forgot to mention while in rat form you have an tornado of rats mode that cna affect the bitten and overun effects. also the killer do have 2 mories one when an survivor is overun on second hook and one normall mori. if you stun the tornado of rats Vitalis get stunned 3 more seconds than normall

Ah i see, yeah no this overall a great concept and well thought out. However i will point out that some might complain about the bitten basically being Sloppy Butcher without a perk slot

This is a fair point. My idea is definitely flawed. My whole idea is to keep it around the same strength, while making it more healthy for the game. My only goal with this rework idea is to ensure everyone gets a chance to play the game. I definitely went overboard with the idea, but I think a few tweaks would probably make it work.

Do not get me wrong i am all for concepts and reworks! i love the ideas! but if your trying to make the perk healthier… well unless your running Counterforce, prepare to be decimated in seconds

Especially if the killer has expirence using Pain Res

  • @Imperiall234 said:

    The Grand Inquisitor

    (Vitalis Bénévent)

    Vitalis Bénévent

    Killer Power

    Dominion of the Rats

The Entity has granted Vitalis complete control over a plague-ridden swarm.

Press the Power Button to enter Rat Form.

    While in Rat Form:

    • Your perspective becomes third-person.
    • You move as a living swarm.
    • Survivors hit by the swarm gain Bitten.

    Bitten

    A special status effect.

    • Survivors periodically cough.
    • Healing takes 15% longer.
    • Blood pools are increased.

After being bitten twice, the survivor becomes Overrun.

    Overrun

    The swarm engulfs the survivor.

Vitalis can immediately carry them to the nearest hook using the rats.

This makes him a terrifying snowball killer.

    Rat Tunnels

At the start of the match, four Rat Nests emerge from the ground.

The nests resemble the giant plague holes from the game.

Entering one allows Vitalis to travel instantly to another.

Exiting a tunnel triggers Killer Instinct on survivors within 24 meters.

    Torches

    Special against this killer.

Four random torches spawn across the map.

A survivor can pick up a torch.

Using a torch against Rat Form:

    • Stuns the swarm.
    • Forces Vitalis back into human form.
    • Applies a lengthy cooldown.

Since rats fear light in A Plague Tale, this gives survivors meaningful counterplay.

    Killer Perks

    Hex: Epidemic

A Dull Totem becomes a Hex Totem.

Whenever a survivor completely consumes an item:

    • Their aura is revealed for 30 seconds.

The effect ends when the Hex Totem is cleansed.

    Infectious Bite

    After injuring a survivor:

    • They scream.
    • Any survivor within 20 meters also screams.

    45 second cooldown.

    Rotten Habits

    After performing a Mori:

    • The location remains contaminated.

Survivors entering within 15 meters scream and reveal themselves for 4 seconds.

Got a few things to ask

1: does his attack as a rat count as a special attack or basic attack

2: do the torches have a timer or can he get rid of them in some way? like and they respawn?

side note: im a huge fan of this concept, he seems like someone that could snowball hard and use FTTE extremely well with excellent mobility and a perk that affects Mori is an interesting concept!

  • @Imperiall234 said:

  • @Boobawamba said:

This Is definitely a hot take, and I don't expect many to agree with this, but I do think Hex: Devour Hope could use a bit of a rework to be more healthy for the game. Below is my idea for a rework.

For every unique survivor you hook, you gain a token. At 4 tokens, all survivors become exposed. The next survivor you hook will give you five tokens. At five tokens, you will be able to kill any survivors you down.

I think this would be a more healthy, but fair rework to Hex: Devour Hope. As it is right now, I don't think it's as healthy as it should be. I don't really like the idea that you could go all trial without being hooked, only to go down at five tokens and instantly be killed. With this rework, it ensures everyone at least gets to be chased by the killer and actually play the game. Too many times have I died on my first down because the totem was in a really good spot for the killer, and no one was able to get to it without getting caught.

This Makes devour hope easier to use. not having to get the token by a unhook while your faraway is broken considereing this is the most oppresive hex in the game. This could allow killers to quickly get it set up, especially in a snowball situation. in fact my friend i think you made it even stronger

Its essentially the same way to use Pain Res

  • @normieganzz said:

    Ambush buffs

    • Basekit workshop grease
    • Slightly faster ambush duration 2.3s > 2.5s.

    Reverse Bear Traps buffs

    • Increase total trap searches from 12 > 14 (average searches is 3.5)
    • Basekit Ruleset No.2

    Add-on changes

    • Workshop grease : Increase ambush duration by 10%
    • Ruleset No.2 : For the first two searches, only reveal the furthest jigsaw box auras.

The buffs would make her traps more consistent at slowing down the game to back up for her lack of map mobility. Now it shouldve been 3 or 4 searches and less likely for the first trap to only need 2 searches. This is important for her early game. Her ambush should've been more smoother and less situational to use. With faster charge time, she could actually ambush survivors since they will have lesser times to react. This make up for her being immobile while charging ambush and also her roar giving survivors a warning for her incoming ambush.

I dont think this buffs would've make her suddenly too oppressive but she will become stronger and more fun to use for sure. Last but not least, I hope BHVR give her a new chase music and even new mori! She's my favourite character and I would love to see her get some love. I also like to use her more if not for her being weak and easily get stomp by survivors.

I am a huge Piggy fan here as well. Pig is my favorite killer, though i dont main her. i would also like to suggest Interlocking Razors be basekit as well, applying deep wound would help waste even more time. i do like these changes

Trappers add-on that makes it so that when you disarm a trap it damages you

wraith's bell that makes the sound come from all over the place

    Hag: rusty shackles

    doctor: calm (purple)

Huntress: aura reading on hatchet hit

Pig: crate of gears and razer wire

clown: increased move speed whilst reloading

Legion: Token add on that makes it so after hitting a bunch of feral slashes in the end game he gets movespeed

    Trickster: bouncing blades addon

nemesis: aura reading on those unlocking chests with serum

Deathslinger: mangled add on after shots

    ghostface: drivers license

Dredge is literally top 5 on midwich zero doubt in my mind

Only played as Dredge once, got midwhich and had success

  • @Xendritch said:

Atp I'm convinced Dredge deserves their own "???" Tier. Killer plays so radically different depending on the map you're on and the add ons you use that they almost defy categorization. You get a corn map and they're C tier but you play on Midwich or Meat Plant with it's best add-ons and I genuinely believe they're a top 10 killer.

Then you have extremely transformative add-ons like Follower's Cowl that's more or less Nowhere to Hide in an add-on giving them an extra power or the microphone that tells you where survivors are across the map but then you feel compelled to always use skull and calendar so I'm not sure how you consider that into the ranking.

But at the same time I can't even say the community underrated Dredge because on the maps they're bad they're REALLY bad where their mobility is handicapped and their anti loop is a joke on maps with lots of jungle gyms and connecting tiles so I get where the perception comes from.

    Tl;dr Dredge is really weird.

my best friend is a P100 Dredge main and i showed him your comment and he agrees. ill try to figure out how to make another tier on the list for him

Huntress is still slow, has to go to a locker to get more hatchets, If you don't have aura reading are you really a huntress, but having aura reading means losing gens. Maps are still pretty large and inside maps sucks for huntress. So yeah her map coverage is pretty bad as is every ranged killers that doesn't have somekind of mobility.

Most huntress games are chill, if you know how to loop one. They are great campers though. She just isnt as good as she used to be and i wouldn't mind if she got buffs.

I dont know, IMO Billy is Top 3 without a Doubt. In general, I feel that the Top 3 are pretty set with Nurse, Blight and Billy and then afterwards you can discuss, I see different people putting Killers in the Top 5. I have seen Twins, Dracula, Ghoul, Spirit seen in different Tier Lists.

But usually the Top 3 are Nurse, Blight and Billy, most of the time in that order, but sometimes people rank Billy over Blight. (Which I would personally disagree with, @pidgeon made the perfect point that Billy is just held back by a few maps where he is really bad on)
