Hot Take - Hex: Devour Hope Should be Reworked

This Is definitely a hot take, and I don't expect many to agree with this, but I do think Hex: Devour Hope could use a bit of a rework to be more healthy for the game. Below is my idea for a rework.

For every unique survivor you hook, you gain a token. At 4 tokens, all survivors become exposed. The next survivor you hook will give you five tokens. At five tokens, you will be able to kill any survivors you down.

I think this would be a more healthy, but fair rework to Hex: Devour Hope. As it is right now, I don't think it's as healthy as it should be. I don't really like the idea that you could go all trial without being hooked, only to go down at five tokens and instantly be killed. With this rework, it ensures everyone at least gets to be chased by the killer and actually play the game. Too many times have I died on my first down because the totem was in a really good spot for the killer, and no one was able to get to it without getting caught.

This Makes devour hope easier to use. not having to get the token by a unhook while your faraway is broken considereing this is the most oppresive hex in the game. This could allow killers to quickly get it set up, especially in a snowball situation. in fact my friend i think you made it even stronger

Its essentially the same way to use Pain Res

This is a fair point. My idea is definitely flawed. My whole idea is to keep it around the same strength, while making it more healthy for the game. My only goal with this rework idea is to ensure everyone gets a chance to play the game. I definitely went overboard with the idea, but I think a few tweaks would probably make it work.

Do not get me wrong i am all for concepts and reworks! i love the ideas! but if your trying to make the perk healthier… well unless your running Counterforce, prepare to be decimated in seconds

Especially if the killer has expirence using Pain Res

  • I personally have to agree, Devour Hope is my personal hate perk on the killers side. It just doesn't feel good to lose to a killer with this perk.

The perk either does baiscally nothing or it wins you the entire match, and I absolutely hate that.

Its The most oppressive hex ever. but it comes with a catch of having to leave. if a survivor sticks around or what not they can easily deny it

  • i like how it is, its not that likely to proc all the way and its still a perk that can be removed from play before it gives any value and often will. hexes should be very strong if totems are going to remain lighthouses on top of a hill in the open.

  • it's a hex it's supposed to be strong since it can at best be used twice (since undying exists) so you dumpstered a niche perk

if the perk was reworked to not be a hex and had your changes i'd be fine with it

  • I honestly don’t remember the last time I saw this perk used in one of my survivor matches. It’s been a very long time. The fact that I basically never see it used, ever, tells me that it’s not very problematic.

before basekit moris this perk was a little more popular I feel. Moris were kinda pay to use back then.

I saw it six hours ago and I see it fairly frequently in hex builds.

  • I am in that belief that this perk is one of those that does not need any changes. There is tons of others that deserve changes but Devour is not a problem or need changes.
