  • Put a pipe in it you miscreants.

I've played 2 out of 3 games tonight where their entire teams had DS.

  • A victory for a Ghostie anywhere is a victory for us Ghosties everywhere.

I think this player is another perfect example of players that don't know enough about the game to be commenting on the games balance...

Not only do you constantly misread what i've said (I think?), but you go on without even making any sense

Your lack of reading comprehension is not my problem. :)

You are in the minority regarding legion. Legion is one of the top most hated killers to verse because of the annoying gameplay.

    "You are in the minority"

    And?

"Legion is one of the top most hated killers to verse because of the annoying gameplay."

So you don't have any problems against (good) Nurses? Doctors especially? A mind gaming Spirit? Those aren't at all annoying to you? Legion is at the bottom of the annoying stack guy.

What killer do you find MOST annoying to go against with? And why?? ((Mines Hag or Doctor. u.u ))

Judging by comments, a lot of people don't like Legion. But is he the #1 baddie on anyone's list? Hell no. There are way worse killers to go up against. For me, it's Doc and only Doc.

Again ranks don't matter. I get rank 1 on both on the 13th, what's your point?

His point is that he can consistently get success with Ruin and Undying, obviously. If he's doing it regularly then that means it's working overtime for him. It's a good idea too because they elongate the game which enhances the chances of getting pips.

false, hexy BOTB everyone would run hex ruin + undying. good survivors wont waste time healing they will do gens. also snowballing? good luck when they bring unbreakable, DS and play very safe to prevent that in the first place

Good post, strong points. Can't agree more. Running sloppy butcher and nurse's calling was fun for a while until I'd go up against anyone with a medkit, those healing perks, or inner strength. When it works it's hilarious (as a Ghostface). It didn't work often.

You're obviously not working on the generator next to the Killer. You said I clearly havn't faced Huntress with Ruin. Well other than her having a ranged attack, what's the big difference? She can throw hatchet from the map. Which most good huntresses don't really do because, well they like to make sure the survivor is actually there and know that most good survivors don't repair on the side that they can get hit by a hatchet from across the map.

Like I don't see your point of huntress running ruin that makes it different than any other killer running Ruin. Ruin is a useless perk, that you never see good survivors have a problem with.

"You're obviously not working on the generator next to the Killer"

Obviously. That doesn't mean killers don't normally check generators if they're worked on. Do you do this? You're that killer that looks at a gen from 20 meters and doesn't scope out the area aren't you? Terrible game sense.

"Which most good huntresses don't really do"

I've never played against a single Huntress that didn't. In fact, Huntresses and Clowns are the two most detective esque killers I've played against. I don't know what causes that but what you're saying hasn't been true for me and the opposite has been the case.

"well they like to make sure the survivor is actually there and know that most good survivors don't repair on the side that they can get hit by a hatchet from across the map."

Exactly (LOL)! So your suggestion of just hiding behind the gen sounds pretty dumb now that you've admitted you know this.

Ruin and Undying are amazing perks and they're the sole reason I can play Huntress now.

*"Like I don't see your point of huntress running ruin that makes it different than any other killer running Ruin."

So it's pretty simple: Because she has a passive threat identifier out to forty meters it makes rookies and people who have already been hooked or currently injured extremely skittish about staying on a generator. This means that they will leave their gens and activate Ruin much more quickly. This isn't that hard to figure out.

In solo Q, most of the time against Legion (dull, annoying and boring gameplay) there will be at least 1 or 2 suicides or DCs. I don't blame them. He is incredibly un-fun to versus. Not challenging, but rather annoying.

I disagree completely. I like testing my sprint burst and 360 skills against them to see if I can knock them off balance. It's challenging and rewarding. The only other killers I can do this with are Gordón and Billy.

#########? Are you smoking crack? As survivor you usually have an idea which direction the Killer is coming from. Just put the generator between you and them while you work on it. Since the Huntress nerf she can't hit the top of your head over the generator while you work on it, or crouch behind it. Also if the Killer is coming and chasing you, that's 2 other generators being worked on at the same time. Just run the chase as normal against a huntress, don't give a ######### about the gen you used to be working on.

Where did you suddenly come with this giant convoluted idea of what I said?

    "#########? Are you smoking crack?"

I was about to ask you the same thing until I reread your post, but then realized it still didn't make sense.

"As survivor you usually have an idea which direction the Killer is coming from."

We're assuming a lot of things here. Sometimes you know where a killer is at. Sometimes you don't. Sometimes you don't know if they're on the same floor level or if you're even being stalked. "Usually" is the wrong word here.

"Just put the generator between you and them while you work on it."

I just reread your post after you said this. I missed the word "side", so you didn't suggest moving to the opposite side of the map. Your suggestion is literally only going to work against new players though. Anyone with a mic is going to hear you working on the gen and anyone with experience is going to instinctively check around a worked generator.

  • @TheButcher said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1772438#Comment_1772438

Yes? Again. Ruin is useless against good survivors. Are you talking about the fact that Huntress can throw a hatchet from across the map to hit survivors working on a gen? Because you know you could just work on the generator on the side opposite of where the killer is, so you don't get hit by a hatchet from across the map.

    #MindBlown

"Because you know you could just work on the generator on the side opposite of where the killer is"

So if you're on a generator and the killer is coming towards you, that means you have to leave that gen to get to the opposite side of where the killer is. This also means that you'd have to maneuver around the map indirectly which is extremely time consuming. During that entire time your generator is regressing without the killer having to do anything but be nearby. Terrible idea.

    "#MindBlown"

Ha imagine hashpoundtagsigning yourself after being so horribly and obviously wrong like this lol

  • There are four methods. I will show you the way:

1)If you have a big terror radius, then ruin+undying is the way to go,as others insist. Undying usually extends the game and as you get more hooks players start being less bold. Works great with huntress.

2)The steatlhboi method changes because you can't apply passive pressure just by being around so you must absolutely use Pop Goes the Weasel.

    3) This is the placement method. You need iron grip, agitation, or both. You simply position the survivor where you want them. Usually this is the basement or away from your totems if you brought any. By putting them in the basement, you shift the gravity away from the rest off the field and patrol only the gens near the basement. Extremely map dependent.

    4) The last way is to let them finish the generators and make an endgame build. Usually this means you need to run No One Escapes Death, Blood Warden, Remember Me. I usually run Pop anyways, but Nemesis is fun too because it means if anyone blinds or stuns then you can immediately follow up that chase with a Remember Me token added because it turned them into your obsession and they lost your TR for a minute.

  • There are like five perks that support anti-tunneling right now. Come on.

  • @TheButcher said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1772286#Comment_1772286

They weren't good survivors. A good survivor team ignore's Ruin. No amount of gen pressure you do can stop 3 Generator's being worked on at once. Hex perk's are entirely useless against a good group of survivors. They will simply check totem spots as they pass them, and if they see your ruin - boom it's gone. By the time they finish all 5 gen's they finish all 5 totems. They know that by actively ignoring generators and searching the map for all totems - they will be throwing the game. As far as NOED is concerned. It's a Hex perk that makes you have 3 perks all game with a miniscule 5% movement increase. Good survivors only care if they get hit once. Good survivors know how to loop against Bloodlust 1, which all NOED is. They tract Killer movement, and know when to work on the doors, or if it's a SWF they have at least 1 key or controlled chest RNG to get a key. They play around NOED just like anything else, and the Killer that took NOED is only worse off taking a useless perk that made them have only 3 perks in the first place.

So reliability you will most likely not have NOED at the end of the match, and even if you did get it - it doesn't give much of a reward. Same with Ruin, and same with Undying. Honestly Undying is only a perk to protect a perk that shouldn't be easy to completely eliminate in the first place. So you are choosing to throw away a perfectly good slot, to protect a useless perk. That's two slots thrown away, against good survivors you lost at the loading screen.

Back on the fact that good survivors can just ignore Ruin. You go back on survivors needed educational perks/items like Small Game, Detectives Hunch, or a Map. No good survivor is going to run an educational perk. They already know the spawn locations. They also already know where the Killer likely spawned, and other survivors likely spawned.

As far as Tinkerer's goes - good Killers would know what gen's are being worked on, be able to esitmate how many, and how long it would take for that gen to be completed. Any Killer VS a good survivor knows they lost that gen when it reaches 75% which is the only time you get the use out of Tinkerer's.

You're trying to reason, with bad information, for bad perks, that no good Killers run, and no good Survivors care about. With scenario's that only works on bad survivors.

And again Surge is only useful, if it can pop more than one gen. Against good survivors - it won't, because they don't work on gens next to each other.

"No amount of gen pressure you do can stop 3 Generator's being worked on at once."

Have you never played against Huntress and ruin before?

As someone who plays mostly survivor, but knows he is better than 90% of the killers out there here are a few tips:

    1. Learn how to play each killer without addons. Too many people only play killers with their best addons and get carried by said addons. If you are good without them, you will be godly with them. No matter what these forums tell you every killer is viable even without addons.
    2. If you cannot hit a survivor or get them to drop a pallet every ~20 seconds in a chase, you are usually making a mistake. Drop the chase and go stop people from doing gens.
    3. There are a lot of good videos on YouTube on how to properly run tiles/shack as killer. Find them and watch them. Every time a killer learns how to run a tile properly one complaint post on these forums magically disappears.
    4. Despite the fact that Stranger Things seasons 2 and 3 are ######### terrible you should play Demogorgon because everyone loves Demogorgon.

"Learn how to play each killer without addons. Too many people only play killers with their best addons and get carried by said addons"

You must be a time traveler from the year 2017.

  • Because he has way too many fuggin abilities. He can insta detect my whole team so it doesn't matter if I run calm spirit since he always has a target to chase down. They really didn't need to tack that ability on. Then every single loop and vault in the game is unsafe. Then he makes hallucinations to annoy with. Then he makes skill checks harder. Then by the end of the game I'm tier 3 madness and can't do #########. Then since they don't need tracking perks they all run NOED. Stupid.

  • I would pay money for a DLC that takes Doc out of the game.

Also there's a matter of frequency.

It is a very rare game that somebody isn't running DS and probably DS + Unbreakable. It is so common that if there's an obsession in the game, you basically have to try to play like everybody's got DS. On the flip side I've played 688 hours of this game total... probably more than half on Killer. I've ran into zero Head On swf squad and like... 1 Flashlight swf squad that I can recall. While that flashlight swf was annoying (like my eyes legit hurt afterwards), I still ended up 4king that game.

If you never experience a thing, you probably aren't going to complain about it.

"t is a very rare game that somebody isn't running DS and probably DS + Unbreakable"

Exactly. I just try not to play killer at night because it's so ubiquitous. It kills the diversity of play in the game.

They've only made one mistake with a simple two word perk. I didn't tell you what it is but you already know.

They should have added a 3% break to the basic kick speed when the game came out.

Iron grasp is only good for basement builds, and even then basement builds aren't exactly designed to win effectively, only to annoy. I use agitation on nurse and wraith sometimes. Nurse doesn't usually need to slug all that much and wraith is good at the whole "down, hook, pop, down, hook"...etc so I sometimes replace spirit fury with agi. He's the only killer I still run pop on so anything to get me to hooks faster I'll take.

"Iron grasp is only good for basement builds"

These, because if you're running one you might as well at least one other perk. I like basement Myers because it takes two people to guarantee a basement pull and you can just pop Tier 3 when that happens.

  • @Uncharted said:

Now that I think of it, I have a lot of wholesome moments in this game.

Just yesterday I went against a nurse who was struggling a bit but managed to get her 4k. At one point I went inside a locker to get an inner strength heal after unhooking a Bill. For a reason I'll never know, he fast vaults into the locker next to mine, actively letting the nurse know where he is. Mind you he didn't have inner strength or decisive. He naturally gets grabbed out of the locker. Me and the nurse had a good laugh about it then had a small chat before saying our goodbyes.

Another wholesome moment was when two teammates, most likely SWFing together, DCed at the exact same moment at 5 gens. We were versing a huntress and I was pretty much ready to move on to the next game. I hear the huntress coming toward me, so I stand near a window and signal her to come over to me and just do the deed. Instead she shakes her head at me, comes up to me and signals me to farm with her. I let her sacrifice me as a thanks in that game and we became good friends after that. Gokuzu if by any chance you're reading this, you're awesome man.

A similar situation happened with a Myers when two Davids DCed early in the game and he let me and the Dweet farm. We both let him sacrifice us to show our thanks.

I was playing with a friend once and we went against a struggling Billy. In post game chat he said he really wants to learn him, so me and my friend invited him to a custom match where he (and we) practiced for a while.

I can't remember the name of this person, but we got matched together twice, once when they were playing Laurie and the other time when playing sheriff Jake. They mention liking Felix (Felix main here) and in post game chat they complimented me for looping the killer. I'm hoping we get to play together someday.

Last but not least, back when I was still new to the game I wanted to try out huntress. I got matched with a group of red rank survivors who noticed I was brand new. In post game chat they complimented my throws and patience with the hatchets, and told me very firmly to not let matchmaking discourage me from getting better. I honestly wish we can get matched together again in the future.

"I hear the huntress coming toward me, so I stand near a window and signal her to come over to me and just do the deed. Instead she shakes her head at me"

    What a complete sweetie.

  • Every time bro. Game is quick? Already won. They did a funny? Already won. They did a bro move and helped their buddy? Okay, well I've probably lost but people like that should win.

I tunnel people I see fugging their buddies though. One time I saw a guy cut off his teammate by running in front of them so I could get them so I swerved around the poor guy and tunneled the guy that cut him off.

I used to chase Decisive Strikers but after using the Dying Light perk I had to knock that off.

  • As survivor: I was playing against a Piggy with my brother and two random survivors. They left my brother on a hook and me slugged and he went from first stage straight to death because they just didn't save him. They did end up picking me back up later on, but the killer found me right after so I just waved "come here" and they downed me, took me over to a hatch, then dropped me there. Near the end of the game, they pick me up again. Piggy drops the other two and closes hatch since I'm not near it, but walks me over to gate and lets me boop the snoot.

As killer: I was a Huntress and doing not so great so all of the survivors would end up getting away. I downed one at the gate, but he was injured and I just know he was feeding me a kill to boost my ego but I just dropped him at exit and let him go. The other three lined up for me and let me practice taking shots. They even waited for me to reload.

While the Totem stands, all Survivors are your Obsession, and if a Survivor is sacrificed, that Survivor is no longer your Obsession.

When this Totem is destroyed, an Obsession is chosen at random.

When you exit a Chase, your Obsession hears your Terror radius as though you were approaching. (Effect is active even if the Totem is destroyed)

That's a good one, but it won't affect high skill players.

The map, Dead Dawg Saloon was pretty awful in my opinion as well. My most memorable chapter that was original probably has to be Shattered Bloodline. Adam is one of my favorite original characters and the map wasn't too bad. I dislike Spirit but she's one of the most played killers at red ranks as well. To be honest with you though, my favorite maps and characters for the most part are the originals but for the sake of the discussion I would go with SB.

It's those matches where you've eaten two and you think the players might be fenagling you into eating one ore even two more that makes it unbearable, especially when stacked with Borrowed Time, Unbreakable paired, or there is an Object of Obsession running around. It acts as a demoralization tool.

  • Your post is why I run overcharge and pop on most of my killers.

  • Oh, and going against the Terminator should have an achievement. If you point at a body and you are in the Terminator's terror radius and you get the unhook then you unlock "It can be bargained with" and another for pointing at generators called "It can be reasoned with".

I’d love some more original killers like a Scarecrow, Siren and something that’s related to the snow / ice. It could be cool having a killer that could freeze generators / pallets. Maybe Krampus / a Yeti?

Those are some of the ones I wanted.

Scarecrow: Basic movement speed, 32 meter terror radius. Can transform into stationary Pole mode to reduce terror radius to 16 meters and can put up to three fake scarecrows with 16 meter terror radii. They can be taken down but he gets them back every 60 seconds one at a time. His addons give him additional scarecrows, reduce his base TR, increase his Pole and fake scarecrow TR, reduce the cooldown on setting another fake, and an iridescent that grants hemorrhage and broken to survivors that stay in his terror radius or that of his facsimiles for too long.

Siren: Can copy the sound effects of one injured survivor by activating Siren's Call. Siren's Call removes her terror radius but decreases her speed slightly. She can teleport between broken totems in order to enhance her mobility. Her addons give her bonuses to base stats in certain conditions, granting mangled, and an iridescent that occasionally highlights uninjured survivors when they get too far away from her(like an Object of Obsession but with a minimum range of 48 meters and only if they're not crouching).

    @[Deleted User] said:

I want a classic Vampire whose power changes depending on whether or not they feed on downed survivors.

They could spend blood reserves to change into a bat and fly, or use it for some sort of chase power/instadown.

I think it'd be cool if there was a Vampire killer who could use a special ability to attach bats to survivors up to 24 meters, his terror radius, and they fly around the survivor like a crow. It would give him tracking ability and he could get relatively close enough to survivors to begin with. Also a mist form that lets him glide through vaults and pallets but causes an attack delay so he can't just hit every time he goes through.

And lastly, the Terminator. I originally hated the idea because I thought it would turn it into an action game, but after watching the movie and hearing his theme music I could easily see him being in it and I'm surprised he's not already. The artist Mr.Envy gives him a TR of 24, maybe that's fair. I'd give him 32 meter TR. Either way his ability could be when a survivor is in his TR he gains Termination tokens slowly. While in a chase he gains Termination tokens quickly. The Terminator can expend a token which grants special effects for 4 seconds(causing his eyes to light up red): He cannot be stunned(but a pallet will force him on the other side of it) to include perks, he gains a quicker vaulting speed(25%), he can make break actions more quickly (20% stackable). It rewards the player for tactically speeding up his actions and helping to make chases less painful. It does mean he has a built in whispers however, but I think it just fits his character to have that. His addons could increase the speed he gains termination tokens, increase the timer his ability stays active such as an iridescent that causes each token to last 12 seconds, and increase the various effects of his ability(an uncommon that further decreases break action time, a yellow that increases his vault speed slightly further, etc). He could have perks named from the first movie, things from that line "It can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pain, or remorse, or fear and it absolutely will not stop. Ever! Until you are dead". Maybe I'm getting greedy but I really want a perk named "Until you are dead".

STOP misquoting and quote the WHOLE thing till you learn to stop manipulating things to get a favorable reaction by omitting the true things said, till then you are just as bad as politicians.

Edit to clarify - do you think people should have or not have a penalty based on DC? Should it be long?

"How do you feel about people DCing because they don't like X thing in the game?"

Outraged! Nah but seriously it's tedious because it denies survivors good games. As a killer I don't mind so much personally, but I know the other survivors do. Obviously I never report so I'm not hurt by it or anything.

It seems like you're not arguing that people purposely DC to dodge or anything else, strictly as a way for a last survivor to get the hatch. Any other reason is *not* valid in your opinion? Do I have it right?

I'm not being snide or snarky, I promise! In just trying to sum up your thoughts/stance so I can see it better.

This is a nuanced opinion I can understand and even lightly get behind since the person doing it is out of altruism rather than malice or frustration. I still don't think it's right because you lose your BP too but it's at least not a selfish self centered reason

If im wrong, then my bad.

I mean I don't ever feel cheated when people DC, but I get why people would. I never report for DCs is what that amounts to. As far as DCing to let a survivor get hatch, I can see why people do it because the game rewards a sense of altruism and those guys I was playing with knew each other. I tried to bamboozle them out of the hatch and they worked around it using reportable means. I thought that was selfless and clever but I could see why someone eager to get a 4k for whatever reason would feel cheated. I'm not saying it's valid, but they really shouldn't have been put in a position where the morally altruistic thing to do was break the games strictures.

There's a lot of things wrong with Pig in her current state. She's an old killer who's starting to show her age and the fact that in the current state of the game she just isn't good.

Spine Chill is a really common perk for a lot of survivors now. Which renders her stealth pretty useless unless you plan on doing the Thriller to gens constantly, this is not counting the fact that a lot of maps delete her stealth because of how big and open they are anyways.

Her chase tool being the ambush is still strong, the problem is, nobody really falls for it anymore. If you see a pig crouch at a loop, bait out her charging and then run away from the loop to another loop, if the pig keeps trying, just keep abandoning the loop. If she gives up and just decides to normally chase you, well then she's a killer with no power in the chase, meaning she eats pallets. Her ambush doesn't work anymore because it has such a basic counter. Why would you use your brain to outplay the Pig when instead you could just smack your forehead into your keyboard and sprint away for free?

and her trap RNG has always been inconsistently bad. They either dont do enough or do too much. They're poorly designed and need to be changed.

Why would you play Pig? She's clunky, poorly designed, and bad. If you want a stealth killer, go play Ghostface. I say that as someone who mained Pig since she launched and didnt fully drop her until Pyramid Head came out.

"If you want a stealth killer, go play Ghostface."

I wanted to post that gif of the Grinch grinning

Needed change. I hate zoning Pyramid Heads and Im glad that BHVR is making it to where it rewards people who actually play him correctly by using his power.

I dropped Pig for Pyramid Head, don't plan on going back to her until the circus of a balance team fixes her.

What's wrong with Pig? I think she's pretty fun but haven't played her in awhile.
