  • I think their point is that anti-tunnel should be true anti-tunnel regardless.

How to loop: Use check spots, learn how to properly fast vault a window consistently, learn how to fast vault shack window consistently, learn how to hug loops tight, use proper pathing so that you make the pallet/vault, pre-drop unsafe pallets, leave a loop when given the chance and when it becomes unsafe.

Things to do against Kaneki: Learn pallet revault tech, learn how to hold distance, learn how to block him from pallets, learn how to block him from windows.

Do these consistently and you will have better matches and make most Ghoul's, and pretty much every other killer, not have a good time.

"Learn pallet revault tech, learn how to hold distance, learn how to block him from pallets, learn how to block him from windows."- You could have at least tried to be a little less condescending.

That go next prevent is a killer side update like I said if a survivor goes next its a 3v1 which is pretty much a guaranteed win. The go next makes it so either they stay in the match and it's a 4v1 which makes it harder on the killer then a 3v1 or they dc and they at least get a bot that can do gens and the killer still has to take the time to down the ai which is time they aren't defending gens. Saying it's a killer sided change is just objectively wrong.

Oh yeah that makes a lot of sense!

That doesnt check out because unless your playing a ranged killer you can easily abuse the ai to make mistakes and get easy downsts was.

The go next prevention was put in place because survivors were complaining about all the other survivors going next on hook. That doesn't hurt the killer in anyway it actually benefits them to get a quick 3v1. You can try to gaslight that the go next prevention is a killer sided change but is objectively not if all 4 survivors stay in the game it's much harder on the killer then that 3v1 so that math isn't mathing.

    What math?

Killers were upset people didn't want to play vs camp + tunnel + 4 slowdowns every game so BHVR put in a detection system that punishes you if it suspects you died too fast.

You should be thankful, they were going to make it give you a DC penalty.

The go-next punishments were put in place for killers, so if your opponent is better than you and tunneling you there's not much you can do.

    It's by design sadly.

    What's a go-nexzt punishment?

Yeah, this would only lead to more slugging, which no one wants. I mean I hate to slug, but if there were a combo like this, I'm leaving everyone on the ground as soon as I suspect it's in play.

The entire wiggle mechanic wasn't mean to lead to wiggling being a regular thing, just to prevent killers from being able to carry survs indefinitely.

And as you say, these effect stacking builds are all going the way of the dinosaur anyway.

Gee, if only there was another boon that could be paired with this one that would allow you get speed up your recovery and automatically pick yourself up if you are slugged.

  • @DemonicDemons said:

Can we please get a new boon perk increasing the wiggle strength of survivors in it's radius so we could stack it with boil over and actually have an affect on the killer? I use boil over and like only 1 in 10 killers are affected by the perk, it makes sense for those with power grip but those without? I have no idea, I played a game of bots with just boil over on and I get throw all over the place, same as in a normal game, but when I'm survivor and I get picked up it just never works at all so I'd like at least a boon perk that'll increase the 80% wiggle strength boost with boil over to maybe 145%

BRO you are speaking to my soul right now. With Flow State, boon builds become surprisingly viable. The problem is that it's almost never worth it to struggle- EVEN IF you're on a SWF with saboteur and boxes. Hook placements are just too ruthless. You almost always need someone nearby with breakout, or hope you get sent to Lery's. The perks we need right now:
    1) Boon for increasing wiggle speed by 5/10/15% in the radius of the boon. 24 meters is still not very large, so if you get picked up and leave that radius, these numbers might be too low. You'd still need multiple people running it to ensure coverage. You don't want to drop right next to the boon to maximize wiggle either, because then the killer just snuffs it. An upgrade might be 20/25/30%. 30% sounds aggressive, but if you slug on the edge of the boon's radius, you're hardly getting any value anyways (5-10% added to your total wiggle bar).

    2) Another boon- the Cone of Silence. Gives calm spirit, iron will, lightfooted, and quick & quiet in the radius. Probably won't get picked over circle of healing or exponential, but it pairs with shadow step and dark theory. Dark Theory might actually get used.

    3) Borrowed Time needs to be changed to give the person who is doing the unhooking the bonus, to prevent tunneling unhookers. Not sure if it should counter Make Your Choice though, even for 15 seconds or whatever. People may actually use BT again.

SpringTrap isn't the only killer that can start a chase in 10seconds or less. Throw on lethal pursuer Hill Billy, Blight, Xeno, Vecna, Ghoul maybe a few others with fast mobility are capable of doing it. Having the security doors right there facing a gen is actually a bad thing for ST if you look at the panel and the lights flicker then that's a tell he's coming. It should be about a 4 second head start. Sure he still has bugs that needs to be fixed and once people figure him out better i'm certain he's gonna be around B tier. Just be glad he's no where near Ghoul. Also his add-on Bonnies guitar string might end up getting nerfed since it's clearly his best add-on being blue while Demos, Wraith, and Legion are iri class and they can't teleport to the gen.

Springtrap can close chases much more quickly and consistently than Ghoul. He makes Ghoul look D tier. The only thing about Ghoul is that it's mostly up to him if he hits you but you have time to get away from his lunge withdrawal.

Cool, right? I'm just very bugged right now, it will be over soon.

    TLDR:

Hello my name is Singularity, Hello my name is Artist. Honorable mention: Hello my name is dracula (I can hit over any loop) Hello my name is Springtrap, I have a 2cm hitbox projectile that has the highest skill ceiling in the game, I also have doors that survivors can use too! Cool, right? I'm just very bugged right now, it will be over soon.

Springtrap is a direct upgrade over every other ranged and teleport killer in the game. He's Hag if she had a throwing weapon that could cause broken, could insta grab, and whose teleport is as silent as Hags iridescent add on, since they both have the same terror radius.

Springtrap has a better version of Freddy's teleport, but again can secure a chase by throwing axes as soon as he comes out of doors. He also has less base terror radius than Freddy. His teleport doesn't come up from obvious generators but instead silently behind every one, usually facing your boon he's about to snuff along with your teams hopes. His doors are usually facing away from the center of the map where you want to look.

Springtrap is a better Huntress because unlike that pathetic illiterate forest peasant he can automatically reload, cause broken status, fire another one as soon as he gets it back, and suffers no penalty to chase time because aiming down sights doesn't slow him and again he doesn't have to pilfer lockers like some poverty stricken second rate axe tosser. His axes are elite, bourgeoisie axes you see: they can hit over obstacles hers can't like the rocks on Ormond. And they have an area of effect just in case they miss. His TR is about half of Huntress' hymn radius. He can teleport unlike her. Sad.

Springtrap is a better Alien. His teleport is better because there's not a cue. They have the same terror radius... But poor alien loses his short ranged tail swipe if he gets too close to a flamethrower and they constantly track his distance. Springtrap is silent as a broken bell after teleporting and his ranged weapon never runs out, goes further, and has all the benefits mentioned above. His counterplay? You have to spend time looking though cameras and hope you don't give him a free hook state. Jokes on the survivor for trying this time, guess they should have brought flamethrowers.

He's Springtrap- and he's just better than you.

  • I went to go finish opening a 99'd exit gate... But the ax said 'no'.

  • He's the best teleport killer, the best ranged killer, his only counterplay involves instantly grabbing survivors, and he has a 24 m terror radius. But most importantly,he's making bank and giving FNAF babies their time to shine. The nerf will come. Hang in there bros. (Keep struggling on the update hook that is)

I’ve been playing this game since it originally came out and I can honestly say what was a great gaming experience has completely diminished! These new updates do nothing but make the game less challenging for killers who many have already found ways to get around the system! Now if nobody noticed the time out crows will get you whether you’re idle or not…. Killers move faster than ever (clear example a killer was in the process of hooking one player but was able to cut down 2 other players! I’m not one to complain but the changes aren’t even subtle whomever is making these updates seem to lean towards the killers but my thing is make it fair .The abilities given to survivors seem lame in comparison to killers who are coming across as totally OP…. My thing is just keep it fair instead of ignoring players complaints by just introducing new events when we all can see the gaming changes a has def soured the fun for a lot of players!

Hey do you remember when "See you in the Fog" was a sign off because the game had fog mechanics? Pepperidge farm remembers.

  • @lesgo said:

The animatronic feels awful to go against. His base kit is overtuned and it must be hell for new players. I propose:

Reduce the Undetectable status effect to 10 seconds (was 20 seconds). Similar to the Demogorgon, the Undetectable status effect shouldn't last that long. With add-ons, it can go up to 30 seconds, which allows him to cross the entire map and start and finish a chase without even needing to moonwalk.

Reduce movement speed while holding an axe (similar to the Huntress). He can zone survivors too effectively while holding M2—it's not fun and not fair.

Make revealing him with cameras more rewarding. NEW: If you reveal Springtrap, he should be unable to use doors for a brief period. Currently, using cameras is barely worth it for survivors, since the benefit of revealing the killer is a joke compared to a free grab.

What are your thoughts? Thank you :)

Forgot to mention- you're right that disabling his tele is a good move, but it should be for an extended period and the reciprocation against a survivor for being caught should be an injury hit instead of a grab.

  • >auto reloading axe

    >axe confers broken

    >no speed debuff after launch

    >can target over rocks and around obstacles precisely where Huntress axes cannot

Springtrap is a direct upgrade over Huntress.

    >teleport is hidden instead of being directly over a generator

    >no visual cue, audio cue is too subtle under background noises

    >security doors often view totems making finding boons easy

    >killer goes invisible upon exiting security door

Springtrap has a direct upgrade over Freddy's main ability. The ability to pull survivors from your rooms is an overwhelming benefit that prevents survivors from using the doors themselves since there's no defense against Springtrap inside the security room. It makes Springtrap doubly powerful with no drawbacks in the mobility department.

    >24 meter terror radius

This is probably the most absurd part. Making a killer with teleporting stealth a low radii killer means Springtrap is better at general M1 hunting than Hag, with a teleport that is at least equally as good.

Now I get feature creep is typical in long running games and we have seen Dracula and Vecna get multiple powers over earlier killers, but this is ridiculous. Personally I'm taking a break until things get patched over.

  • @AdamZ said:

I don't think it has ever been a haven for survivors, but devs have balanced around top survivors -but- not doing the same for killer. Most survivors, according to when I do play, never see the gates opened. There is even proof that killers are insanely more overpowered such as Blight with a thousand winstreak. Solo survivors have no way to use any skills to win because ALL of it has been nerfed. Even self-care or the solo survivor part of Circle of Healing. Why should an essential survival perk -require- a SWF? This is -why- it is not as popular and until BHVR tries to start balancing more and make the game actually accessible to everyone then they'll never bring players back. 100% survivor bonus.

The game is soooo stale. You basically know within 30 seconds of the game starting how it is going to pane out. Oh, it's a Blight that has Lethal Purser and downs your teammate before you even have time to find a gen. That is so unbalanced.

The game was strictly survivor sided for its first five years.

But you're right, making comebacks would be pretty interesting. As it is, flipping a match is pretty rare and relies on the entire team dialing in.

  • @IamFran said:

The Doctor is an easy mode killer then, I guess. Because his power let him do the same thing but everywhere.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bad argument, because that's all he has and he even has a big cooldown on his radial dischange.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Should have been a castle map

Mabye they'll release an additional one where the gate connects out of! How cool would that be if you looked through the gate of a castle and out there, or through the archer slit windows, is the Borgo?

But really, I think the Borgo should stay the same. It represents the Knight's playstyle and every map should be biased toward the strengths of the killer it's based on.

  • They already implemented anti-face camping measures and an automatic BT + haste.

Really hope this is a bait thread.

  • @mecca said:

DBD is really at the lowest it has ever been. Too many survivor nerfs and killer buffs.

    It's honestly unplayable as survivor.

It's not the haven for survivors it used to be. I ran into a bully squad the other day and pieced them up on their last generator. The good news for killer matches like this is that they aren't the horrendous experiences they used to be. That team, in old DBD, would have ended the game in about seven minutes total with pallets and flashlights to spare. Close to five if they ran a few BNPs or gen perks.

They did run one DS and used it aggressively that game. Lost track of the time, it had to be around forty seconds or so. At the end of the game I left the last two slugged and guarded one because that's what you have to do if you're playing in a competitive mindset. I don't think nuSurvivors remember but that's what had to happen because squads would run unbreakable, ADR, and DS.

The culture around DBD has changed. I like that it's less competitive because then I just play a good host as killer and try to give my survivors a good time, but when I see groups like that it's hard for those instincts not to kick in. The first person I knocked out I started giving targeting priority too just to have one person out. It would take about eight or nine more minutes for the game to end so they're just waiting on their party to finish the stall-grind.

A slight buff to survivor would probably help overall, but bringing back survivor sided perks and mechanics won't be the way forward on that and I don't think that'll bring people back to the game.

DS could not be used as a weapon because its activation condition was entirely up to the killer. All you had to do was not pick up the survivor that got pulled off the hook in the last 60 seconds before they performed a conspic action.

I've been hit by DS -once-, and it was an obvious bait that I fell for. Entirely my fault. I've never been hit by DS again afterwards, and not for lack of trying.

DS needs to go back to 5 seconds of stun.

The sixty seconds is too long to keep up with. A good killer could wipe an entire team in that span of time. Nurses and Blights are known for it. But you're right about the five seconds. Three seconds doesn't do any good for resetting chases unless you happen next to a pallet.

And Red Forest was notoriously bad on Console for how it performed.

Add in an intense Killer like Nemesis and the game barely chugged along.

I distinctly recall it performing well both on PC and console so it's your memory versus mine and I'm going to have to go with mine. The sounds were likely reduced for competitive reasons since sound is a major mechanic that the killer relies on.

  • @Pulsar said:

Look, when a game runs at 20 FPS and looks like a PS2 game, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there's optimization issues.

Adding intense weather effects would only worsen that.

It's not optimization, it's base performance. It's a good strategy because it means most anyone can play it. It's like saying World of Warcraft isn't optimized. It is, but the developers settled for performance that could accommodate most specs. They've already had rainy maps (old Red Forest notably had it and I miss it dearly), they just need to amp that up and add flash effects for lightning.

  • @Anti051 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/394991/thunder-and-lightning

Very good suggestion. It's unsettling things that create a scary atmosphere like thunder and lightning in inclement weather, actual darkness, actual fog and somber/grim lighting. The only thing is that a lot of folks in the community are honestly too sissy for actual horror effects, I mean they fall to pieces and raise hell over the most insignificant things.

These sorts of ideas have got two thumbs up from me and would be quite effective at making DbD scarier, and I hope BHvR realizes that there are times when you have to put your foot down in order to make cool stuff happen.

    Couldn't agree more!

Since we're on the subject, wouldn't something from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death" be cool? You'd have seven color themed rooms and the red-black room. They could be thematic and add a clock that chimes every few minutes. They could drop a Plague skin to go with the map. It's too perfect and there's a market for this type of stuff.

They could even make a Prospero survivor. Don't know what those perks would look like though.

  • I didn't know we had so many game engine optimization experts and seizure subject matter experts in these forums. I should come here to have my papers written.

  • Midwich has been the only miss. It's very interesting but also very frustrating when you're stuck either up or down and you need to get to the other level.

Dead Dawg is my favorite because it's just plain fun and survivors who hide in bushes or kite the map can be rewarded.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3568405#Comment_3568405

Some may argue that a killer will (almost)never face a single DS if you are not tunneling. DS, like i said, should have a simple rule: It deactivates once a survivor is doing a healing, cleansing, repairing or sabotaging action.

If the killer really eats a DS with those perk restrictions, the survivor did either nothing (which is arguable the worst survivors can do) or the killer simply tunneled. And if, for whatever reason, the survivor takes a down for a teammate, the killer can still slug that person and go for the next one. The pressure he creates with 2 downs is in a normal game already loosing condition to survivor teams.

I would even be fine showcasing the killer that the survivor has DS.

So, what good players will do is none of those things and body block. Know that you have to tear through an automatic BT would warn you, but if you drop then and lose track of time and pick them up too soon it's punishing. That's what old DS bully squads were doing. That's why it got so bad in the first place.

Showing DS to killer is an interesting idea. Not very thematic considering the source material, but balancing.

  • I played Xenodoggy twice today. If you missed me- you missed out!

Well not tunneling would prevent you facing it 4 times so maybe just try that.

That's not remotely true. Old DS was used as a weapon. If you, as a killer, knocked a party too fast then you would be punished for playing that well. In conjunction with the automatic in-built Borrowed Time and hook reforms it would be entirely too punishing. It was punishing then it would be worse now.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Exactly why old DS needs to come back it was the only counter to a hardcore tunneling killer!

For years I complained that old DS was killing the game. Functionally it worked to do exactly as you have said, but it would mean that it'd be a staple perk again. Facing one in a match is fine. Facing four every single match is egregious.

I was suprised that PH won the Round 1 bracket.

May i ask, why you think playing against PH is fun? What do you like about him so much? Is it just the looks and sounds (which are great) or gameplay? I am genuinely curious. It seems i dont get the point of him.

It takes a bigger brain to play the Exe. He can shoot through walls so when you play against a good exe at killer's shack it takes some brain juice to outplay them. Mastermind does not live up to his namesake. It's too simple. He dashes and if he connects you will end up being slowed (eventually). Simply not dynamic in the way that Exe is. Exe's unusual hook spawns and ability to mine the map with his trails give him tracking capabilities. He's just more multi-dimensional.

Edit: I'm convinced people are just voting the character they think is easier.

  • I see that I voted correctly and two others did not.

  • The events get better year after year. I wouldn't have thought I'd still be playing but they keep roping me in with good additions. You'd think it's all about the DLC but the events are just too creamy.

Except now everyone has 5 perks... Except everyone has permanent med kids.

Here is a very very common scenario: Survivors 3 gen at the end because they weren't paying attention or being efficient. But the boon is the opposite side of the map. So what happens now? If the killer hits a survivor they just run to the boon across the map and heal. The killer has 2 options. 1) chase them and down them across the map and lose all the gen pressure and lose the game. or 2) stay on gens and prevent the gen from popping, which means the survivor is now healing and runs back and BAM everyones full health. And if the killer runs across the map to snuff the totem... the gen will be popped and they lose.

The fact that anyone on either side can defend this perk is crazy. I play both roles and It is beyond broken. The fact that you can have everyone with 5 perks essentially or have everyone have a medkit at all times is so strong.

Imagine NoeD or Ruin and you break it and we just relight it.

And if those survivors have overcome....

On top of that, you are completely ignoring that placing the boon pays for itself, and Survivors can place a boon and still have other Survivors doing gens. As I have said repeatedly, but your reply is basically 'But they can't' with no supporting argument other than vague silence and dodging the issue.

The fake "lmao" is a tipoff that you don't really care. You just want to whine and cry. His question does not imply an impelling need for negativity. In fact,he's explicitly stated otherwise multiple times.

I'd call you out hardcore but I respect this board too much.
