I don't think anyone would quit over an OoO nerf. But boy oh boy would the tears and rage flow if DS gets touched.

If they removed both, they probably would have retained more players. But honestly DS is just so absurd. I purposefully count down and still miscount when so much is going on and they just get off anyways. It's caused me so much frustration that every break I've taken from this game is due to that one perk.

He said endgame which could be all gens done and no doors open.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1834012#Comment_1834012

As long as they aren't right next to the doors you still have a chance. If their on comms they will be super altruistic which you can bait easily. If the doors are open and they are near it then fair enough but you should try to the very end. Your not going to get a 4k but you could still get 1/2 kills.

If they are all following you to a corner then they know you've given up. If you do this again deliberately go to a corner as far away from the doors as possible so you have a chance of getting a kill.

I know what you mean by abusing altruism but I don't think there was any chance. If I could only get two hooks for five gens, there's no way I was going to get one downed at the gate. The gate that was closest to me had a jungle gym with a pallet in it, so it broke my spirit when I realized I'd have to chase four people through this, get palleted, and maybe I'll manage to injure one.

The game is survivor sided for sure. I play both sides. As another person said it's more SWF sided. If get a good SWF team you're done right off the bat.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWfbD5Z5nZs

    That's what it feel like.

There are far more survivor groups that can be very annoying and grief the killer for fun.

The match making isn't good either you'll get any ranks at any time.

Just look at any dev stream, it's all nerf Freddy. nerf this nerf that, their mods work overtime on that.

lmao that video is so true

  • @ineedsleep said:

I’ve been having very poop matches recently, and it’s been making me think that this game is slowly becoming survivor sided and the devs are essentially turning a blind eye on killers.

    1. Perks. Yes, there are killer perks that are very good, but most of them have counters. Hex:Ruin, Barbecue and Chili, Thrilling Tremors and NOED all have counters. Let’s have a look at survivor perks that can’t be countered: adrenaline, sprint burst, lithe and don’t get me started on object of obsession. The devs have turned a MASSIVE blind eye on object. People who say “Oh you’re just bad learn how to counter them” are the same people that bring unbreakable and decisive.
    2. Map design. A good majority of maps are heavily survivor sided, including Hawkins, Lery’s , Red Forest and Haddonfield. Most killers get countered by maps like these. I understamd the devs have been attempting to add balance to certain maps such as Macmillan and Autohaven but that isn’t making up for the pure amount of unbalance in other maps.
    3. Gen speeds. Do I even need to go over how quick gen speeds are? And with addons gens can get done in a matter of seconds if everyone is working on one. 45 seconds for 2 people. 2. That is a ridiculously quick time considering that’s cutting 35 seconds without that extra person. They need a nerf, or else they are trying to encourage people to start bringing ruin, but wouldn’t you know! Your totems get done within 30 seconds of the map starting. That leads me into my next point.
    4. Totem spawns. The amount of times I bring ruin undying and undying goes within 1 minute. 30 seconds later, and there goes ruin. Totems are way too obvious and need better spots other than just smacking them in the middle of the map where everyone can see it. At least make it so that survivors kind find totems until after the first minute of the match.
    5. The killers them self. Bhvr have added killers that have very weak map pressure or abilities that are useless, turning killers into a laughing stock. The devs release a killer then ignore them, leaving them to eventually become a meaningless killer with no good perks, or one good perk and two completely awful perks with no use at all. Compare that to survivors with actually all viable perks that can be used including Meg and even Fen Ming. Killers need some love!

So to all you killers, what do you think?

YES. Absolutely. Most of the problem is that BHVR is operating the game from the mindset they did when they first made it and slowly making revisions. The player base has turned most of their preconceptions on their head about how loops are run for example, so they've had to rewrite the game around those. They must have been high off their asses when they made Laurie Strode because her perks single handedly broke the game in favor of survivors since she came out.

It's nice they move totems around, but the concept itself may be dated. There needs to be some benefit when totems are broken to make them worthwhile.

  • @CashelP14 said:

All I will say mate is that giving up early isn't going to help you get any better at this game.

I didn't give up early. The game is over. There's one injured person, three fully healed, all on comms so they can just bodyblock and trade hits. At least one had DS so the others do too, and at least one had BT. This is a no-win scenario. I'm not going to magically start getting insta-downs on Freddy without NOED, and even then it would be a stretch.

Winstreak is 4 kills or 3 kills with hatch.

You with a swf would be a interesting match, but that wouldnt prove any point. I know that survivor are stronger. I as survivor x4 would beat me as a killer and i would say im a better killer then survivor.

The point is that you can get better. Nothing is proven when you beat me, bc teams in pubs are at average far worse than a tryharding 1000 hour swf. You dont need to be able to beat this teams to reach rank 1.

You said I don't play at your level. No better way to learn then to witness. How are you going to brag about being at a much higher level and winning 20 straight 4ks and then chicken out of a challenge?

I had this happen to me the other day.. I was playing the Twins and got stomped on Haddonfield "Yay stairs". The survivors decided to sit at the exit gate and heal up for point. I walked away and grabbed Viktor, downed one and was able to get them hooked.

tldr; The EGC started, they could have all escaped but because they were bm'ing I ended up getting a 2K. They then came into my stream, claiming I was "camping" and proceeded to harass and bully me. I just laughed it off but its like "You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes".. but you dont get to sit there and cry about it after being caught.

    Nice!

No, that made him unique. Hit&run attacks. Attack one then go for someone else, and when the first survivor feels safe enough to heal, go back for the down.

Keeping all 4 survivors asleep was challenging but also very rewarding. I would know. I was one of the few Freddy mains.

"Attack one then go for someone else"

That's the worst possible thing right now. I don't know if you've played recently, but healing is very in vogue right now. Freddy would never get a down. You're thinking of Freddy in the 2018 meta.

Always expect everyone to have ds when there is a obsession present.

    About bt.

You are freddy and can destroy bt.

Make sure you hit them before they unhook and there will be no bt.

For bt to work they need to be awake, any survivor with bt who is in the dreamworld has no bt.

Again If you get annoyed by them for not leaving the match, just open the gates yourself.

Doesn't say they leave immediately but they will before the timer runs out.

"Make sure you hit them before they unhook and there will be no bt."

They healed the rest of the time. Everyone who made an unhook was at full health. The BT didn't even need to body block but they did. This isn't even advice, it's just "be faster". I was already pretty close.

My new solution is just to play Demogorgon and give the survivors a good time instead of trying to win.

  • @ukenicky said:

I like everyone's ideas on either slowing him while placing a snare or making him stop completely to place them down (Probably the former).

The main change I'd like to see is one of the following:

Make it harder for survivors to automatically fall asleep and add other ways of waking up, for example I think completing a generator should wake you up as they make a loud sound and flashing light.

OR move Oblivious to being an add-on. The fact that all survivors get forced into Obliviousness automatically is rough and then it makes hook saves virtually impossible as he can bypass Borrowed Time which is really painful to watch.

I know people are going to say "Well just wake up before going for the save 4head" if he hits you while you're going for that save, he puts you to sleep sooo

Waking up when a generator is fixed is a great idea!

  • @Tsulan said:

Revert the rework. Let him put survivors manually to sleep. No false pallets, no blood puddles, no gen teleporting.

But, let him interact with survivors that hold a action button. So he isn't defenseless against survivors cleansing a totem or healing others.

That sounds like a terrible idea.

  • DBD2 should have royale matches. 20 survivors try to find a way out by completing a series of puzzles and challenges like a sophisticated Among Us game while 3 killers stalk the mega maps. Last survivor wins, if only one survives but they can potentially all escape. I drew up maps on grid papers like a nerd because I thought it'd be a cool idea but I don't know how to program. I may post them sometime but I don't know if people are interested. The thing is that it would be pretty different, relying more on stealth. No red stains or terror radii, and most killers would have different abilities (Oni can no longer charge, but power attacks could cripple survivor's movement for some time that remains even if they're picked up).

The first map is a mansion, mostly drawing on assets they already have. There's a botany room in the front of the house taken from Crotus Prenn Asylum (the glass room with the vault spot). It's mostly a clue style mansion but going past the atrium are two hallways with replicas of some of the killers. They're randomized, so a clever Ghostface or Oni could come to life. The basement has access ways to the main floor but only the killer can activate them. Once used, they're open for the rest of the game. Same with the deep freezer (stuffed with bodies) and the storage rooms (full of sadistic tools and secret plans). There's a second floor of bedrooms, where most of the generator style challenges are. However, only some rooms are connected. Some are death traps with the only escape being to climb on the ledge outside. Then there's the attic. The attic a myriad of sounds, which may or may not be threatening.

The second map is a mall. It's single level, widely spaced out. There's a theater section where you can see Myers, Freddy, and Ghostface on the big screens. Once the electrical challenges are done on this side of the map burns and pushes survivors out (if they remain in the fire, they are slugged and must crawl out, if they don't then they lose the game so there's no hiding in here and claiming first place). The rest of the map includes a food court with generator challenges which turns the lights on after completion ruining stealth for survivors. There are also shops where random puzzles spawn in between the theater and the food court. Smaller shops host clothing racks that survivors can hide inside within. The thing about this map is that it's very large in the beginning to favor survivors but steadily begins to favor the killers as the big challenges are completed by making the map smaller and the survivors more visible.

You know you can open the gate yourself right?

Also, anything can happen during the opening of the gates.

It can still quickly turn around.

If had a game where all 4 were still alive on the red forest map when i played wraith.

    Still ended in a 3k

    "anything can happen"

That's just wrong. They made a fool of me when I was going full force for the entire match. They were all healthy by the end game. One of them DS'd me already and I know at least one had BT. That was going to be a losing round no matter what. It was over. The game, looking back on it, was decided by the last generator.

He just said to play a worse killer to be forced to learn the fundamentals of the game. Freddy can carry you into red ranks and then you get smacked by people that can play against him. It's honestly good advice.

"Freddy can carry you into red ranks"

If I were just learning the game I wouldn't be good at Freddy. The only reason I'm good with him is because I have good game sense now. I know where everyone is at down to close proximities so being able to teleport me puts me where I need to be. With BBQ there's not even guesswork involved. I catch a glimpse and it's an autotrack from there. If I didn't play Ghostface I think I would be a terrible Freddy.

Legion is one of the easiest killer to rank up. (Not winning) Bc you get so many hits.

I have on ghostface a 20-winstreak without addons in red rank.

But its not important that some killer have an easier time with emblems. The point why you reached rank 2 with freddy is that freddy is easier to play. I reach red rank with every killer and you play with crossplay, right, so you shouldnt have it harder on pc.

So you certainly dont play at my level, so you have way to improve. It doesnt even matter that you maybe got a real unwinnable match. A good killer player doesnt struggle to reach rank 1. He gets it without trying. So you clearly are not good enough and can improve.

What do i need to do, that you will believe me?

When you say winstreak, what are you counting as a win? Pips or kills? Yes this matters. As Ghostie I pip very often, but rarely feel like I've actually won.

"So you certainly dont play at my level"

"What do i need to do, that you will believe me?"

I'm thinking I'll make a SWF and we play.

It's called being a good sport.

Killers get all angry when survivors DC. This is exactly the same thing. You are throwing the game. Nobody likes throwers and actually throwing the game is against the rules and is even reportable. The survivors are being jerks about it but so was the killer. Maybe if you didn't throw the game they wouldn't harass you.

This isn't about stroking egos that's you projecting your issues on this topic.

Also a lot of killers do the same thing, they will play IF Nurse and slug you all before a single gen is done and will leave everyone on the ground and let them bleed out while doing head nods over your dying corpses.

They won. There was nothing I could do. I played the whole game and I felt powerless. I'm supposed to pretend I'm having a good time when no sane person would? Games are supposed to be fun. I didn't DC and they got their escape. It was absolutely about ego. They wanted me to stroke their ego. That's the entire reason they sit around at the end of the game, flashie, jump in and out of lockers, T-bag, etc. There's no reason for that and there's no reason you should feel entitled to being humored for being rude.

There are surely some unwinnable matches. But i hear so many people say it was unwinnable, its not possible. I have over 2000 hours and this matches dont happen often.

It could be that you had one of this rare unwinnable matches, but it doesnt mean you could play better.

When i was at 500 hours i knew a lot of the game, but compared to now its a huge difference. There is always something to learn.

"There is always something to learn."

I couldn't disagree more. The RNG alone makes certain matches unfavorable. I like the chances but there are some games, against certain survivors in teams, that cannot be won. I remember that McMillan match thinking "okay I know where all the totems are just from instinct, I know where the survivors are most likely at, I know who the altruistic ones are now, I can predict everything about to happen..." and sure enough still end up losing. The biggest mistake I made as a new Freddy was thinking I didn't have a red stain visible, which is huge, but is it enough to swing that entire game? I'm new to Freddy but not to the game. I have 965 hours on my Steam account alone, and the first two years I've played were on PS. I don't know how many more hours that is. Most of them were as killer. This game has nuances but I don't think misjudging my stain was enough to cause the total collapse in the games I've had recently.

    @TicTac said:

I read you first post again. You reached red rank not long ago. I dont want to be rude, but now im certain you didnt reach you skill gap.

When you really want to get better, you can show me your gameplay and i tell you what your mistakes are.

I hate to see people give up with the excuse of unwinnable matches. I dont say its easy or it will be easy, but you can still improve.

"You reached red rank not long ago"

I've been rank 3 and 4 before often, but I usually get reset out of it. This is my first time getting to rank 2. I used to be a Ghostface main and before that a Legion main. You're lying through your teeth if you're about to tell me those are easy killers to rank with. Sure, I ranked extra fast as Freddy, but the same teams I'm having trouble with are the same ones everyone has trouble with. Don't pretend you've not faced them.

You think its OKAY to bully someone because "JuSt GiT gUd"

I wish more survivors would be more open with this because then maybe the devs would see that THIS is the main problem with their game!

Exactly right. I've met a lot of nice people today playing Freddy so I don't mind, but I really like this game and I don't have many games so I really don't like it when people just admit that they're bad and blame people for not wanting to put up with it.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1830893#Comment_1830893

I pointed that out because if he is giving up in game he clearly is not in a rank he is supposed to be in. Learning the weaker killers helps your basic killer skills which is needed for all killers.

I never said its ok to taunt someone or harass them so don't put words in my mouth lol.

I'd say that's an opinion but alright.

If a survivor gave up against a slinger guaranteed they would get crucified and called toxic for not wanting to face a killer "they can't bully". Also despite the fact op gave up in the end which I will say is not that bad, I still think giving up mid game won't help them improve, survivor is also already boring enough with the fact the devs keep designing these new killers horribly, so we have to do gen simulator enough. A killer giving up mid game just discourages playing survivor.

I was not trying to belittle him, I was being blunt.

Yes he does need to "git gud" he's struggling with Freddy against pub teams.

Freddy has an overtuned basekit, only good teams will make him m1. Which btw aren't common in pubs. He has so much going on for him, free map teleport, anti loop, passive slowdown in addons. He is the perfect killer for new players to cheese off of. If that aint a bloated basekit tell me what is.

"Which btw aren't common in pubs"

You keep saying this but this is blatantly wrong. You keep disregarding the fact that I'm not playing the same people you are. You literally said that a single juke can ruin any common survivor on shack and that's just not what I'm seeing. You must be playing new people. Every team I go against searches for shack at all costs and they ALL know how to run it. All of them have builds, so none of them are perkless or using tier I or II perks. They're all maxed out. Many of them run items. If there is a flashie, it WILL be suped up with attachments. The advice I'm asking for is not against rookies. I don't know why you keep denying it, but the lowest players I've played today in a few matches were mostly B players or above. Two of them were D tier out of four matches. I don't need help playing with them. It's the S and A tiers and especially the SWFs I need to figure out what to do with.

And I'm really just asking people not to camp the game and let me go.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1830119#Comment_1830119

From my own anecdotal experience I can say that yes its true. Good survivors can maintain shack a shack chase. Also you can still see Freddy's stain in dream world. The problem here is that there is not many good survivors. Pubs is bloated with fake red ranks and anybody can tell you that. I highly doubt you consistently go against some really good survivors on average.

OK you faced a minority. Tournament teams in pubs are extremely unlikely you just got lucky, should I rather say unlucky because I actually enjoy versing good teams I am guessing you don't. I play all the time late and morning don't seem to bring any sweatier survivors it just depends on whether I am lucky. The last coordinated team I beat was on blood lodge with oni and corrupt 1.

Run corrupt, pop, bbq. You acknowledged you were being taken away from gens and yet you still did?? You made mistakes in the game and it seems like you won't talk about that. Record your games and see what you are doing wrong. If you notice them on coms you adjust how you play, play more dirty, proxy camp and confirm second state. Freddy counters bt, so you don't have to worry about that. When you say there was nothing you could do, there definitely was. What map were you on?

I have faced teams like that, except I can put them out quickly because I am confident in my skills and minimize any mistakes I make.

"Good survivors can maintain shack a shack chase"

Yes, but they don't even have to maintain it long to gain value. Just long enough to make the pallet on top hurt.

"Also you can still see Freddy's stain in dream world"

See this is crucial, because I thought it was blindness the entire time but it was really a form of oblivious.

"I highly doubt you consistently go against some really good survivors on average."

I don't know what to tell you. I can't win any games as Ghostface anymore even though I have by far the most hours on him. I went from stomping C-A tier players to getting creamed by well coordinated D tier survivors. Nothing special, just run straight and drop pallet. Against the best it's impossible because they just bodyblock when they realize I've exposed someone. But yes, I have played a very large number of extremely skilled and/or coordinated survivors lately.

"You acknowledged you were being taken away from gens and yet you still did?? You made mistakes in the game and it seems like you won't talk about that."

I patrolled gens during the chase. I smacked a few just to get Oppression active, but of course all the entire team had to do was stay on gens to recover after a few seconds. And this is wrong. I was asking what I could do better. I was trying to get to talk about my mistakes so I don't know how you got the false impression I was avoiding it.

"Freddy counters bt, so you don't have to worry about that."

...What on Earth are you talking about? You suggest I proxy camp, which is running a tight patrol, and that's exactly what I did. That's how I ended up eating a BT body block in the first place. Obviously I do have to worry about it and you can't say you would have done differently since you literally suggested I do what got me into trouble.

"I have faced teams like that, except I can put them out quickly because I am confident in my skills and minimize any mistakes I make."

If you make no mistakes and the survivors make no mistakes then the survivors will win every time. I'm not talking about taking on B or even A tier players. I don't mind that at all, but when we're talking S tier loop-vault-pallet runs the entire way then yes there's no doubt that at least two to three generators will be lost no matter what. Proxy camping was also bad advice because it gave them LoS the entire time, which means they could callout all of my movements. Looking back on it I shouldn't have done that.

The map was McMillans Estate. Normally a very basic and easy map, but I've been losing a lot there lately. I used to think of it as my strongest map.

  • It's easier, but it's not really fun for me. I used to play with my brother and we'd always win even if our two mates got knocked out in the first few minutes of the game. I think it got stale for him but I'll try to rope him back into it. I think maybe it's just too easy when you know people on your team. I may do that though, I could use a morale boost.

Why don't you open the gate? Or better yet, if you know you just switched to Freddy and you're still learning, why not stop pouting in the corner and just work on what you can work on?

"Why don't you open the gate"

I didn't think they were going to hang around for five minutes and I was ashamed to be near them so I didn't even want them to see me again. Even if I did open the gate they would just keep vaulting in front of it.

"just work on what you can work on"

Which is what? I have a build, I'm running add ons, I have decent perks, I know how to run all of the tilesets to cut them off but they're all so close they could just lap to the next tileset. Shack is painful and even D tier survivors know how to get some value out of it. S,A,B,and C tier players can easily milk that one tileset. Pallets were the big issue, I may have run some perks to counter it but I doubt it would have mattered since the main survivor that was looping me relied mainly on vaults, which are just unavoidable. BT and DS also slowed me down tremendously. They knew they had BT so they body blocked me from attacking their ally. There is no recourse when that happens. DS was my fault, but I thought if I forced it out early I would have less to deal with later on and if they didn't have it I could prevent a heal. Terrible choice.

The whole game was an exercise in being forced to make bad choices on a time crunch.

You probably dont hit your cap. There are not many people who reached their cap in anything.

I bet when you show your gameplay and get advice, you can still improve.

Dont get me wrong i think good survivor are too strong against most killer and they shouldnt be toxic, but dont say you cant get better. When you dont want to get better, its a different story.

At some point we have to accept that there are unwinnable games, and the circumstances that make those games unwinnable are fairly objective and consistent for everyone. I really don't know much more I could have done. Even if I were playing with them all highlighted the entire time I don't think I could have gotten a single one finished. Like I said, half the game I had full visibility on the target and they still took me around for half the game. The last half was just trying to stop gens sliding out from underneath me.

    lt does happen both ways

l played a bubba the other night he downed two of us at the end (we didn’t split which was stupid) he picked me up, it was my first hook and continued to chainsaw me on the hook till l died.

l dunno why, he had the 4k but still wanted to chainsaw me on the hook.

sometimes it is what it is.

Yeah I understand. I hate it because I'm always sure to play nice. I accept surrenders and tokens of peace and I usually let the last player go. I just wish people wouldn't go so hard on me because that's not how I want to play. I feel like a punching bag as killer which seems extra bad.

Once again if you cant beat pub survivors as freddy you have not reached your cap. Most survivors get mindgamed by simple fakes at shacks big exaggeration on your part. Older maps are balanced most good killer and survivor mains think so.

Yeah staying on gens wins but once again this is pubs not tournaments so you wont see actual optimal teams except for once in a blue moon.

I think you are overestimating how fast these pub survivors are doing gens I'm sorry but that's not gonna happen if you are good and bring corrupt atleast if its that much of a problem.

"Most survivors get mindgamed by simple fakes at shacks"

Only if you're playing new people. I've been playing for years with a few breaks between. I've seen the skill generally rise on those. From anecdotal experience alone this week, you're wrong. Nothing else to say. Good survivors can maintain a shack chase past more than a few fakes and that's while they're blind due to being in the Dream World so I don't have a red stain.

"Yeah staying on gens wins but once again this is pubs not tournaments so you wont see actual optimal teams except for once in a blue moon."

This is also a blatant lie. A few days ago I was rank 6 and going up against two back to back SWFs with an OoO on each team and they were on comms(I asked after the chat to make sure). They were extremely difficult and decked out exactly as they needed to be. That was ranks ago and the skill level has only gotten more difficult to compete with. Like I said, playing past 10 at night it's a whole different game.

"I think you are overestimating how fast these pub survivors are doing gens"

I'm running Oppression and Pop for stall, that should be enough. I can teleport to gens and I run BBQ as well. This should be more than enough but it's not. I should have taken a video of the game I played against console gamers. I assume they were comm'ed up because they were trading off hits and baiting me to the opposite side of the field for a chase. I got down to the last gen and there was nothing I could do. It was over by then. In the first two minutes they had three generators worked on. By around the third minute one was completed, two more were over 90%, and another was beginning to be worked on. By minute five it was basically over and I knew it. I chased one guy for about half the time and hooked him twice. Each time he got unhooked he was healed nearly instantly (no medkits, I assume perks but didn't stay to check).

Are you going to pretend you've never faced a team like this?

Well if he doesnt want to improve at the game this post should not exist. He shouldn't complain about being bad. You see his dumb that sounds?

Pretty sure it already exists it's just absurdly long. I'd say 40 minutes to an hour.

Getting bullied makes you better, you should not be handed wins.

Afk does not make you better he should never do this.

Leave match fine I can accept this because if you arent having fun you should leave.

So either leave or get better is the only two he should have or any killer should have.

I don't believe that's true about getting better by being bullied. That has nothing to do with improvement. It just feels bad. I don't think you were insulting me for playing Freddy but I need a real solution. I can't leave or I take a penalty. I actually did leave earlier and I got a penalty so I can only do it once a day.

What if he doesn't WANT to? What if he just wants the god forsaken nightmare to end?

This is why I think games should have a hard time limit. 20 minutes, maybe 30 minutes.

He should have a better range of options than:

    1.) Get bullied

2.) AFK them out till they get bored

    or

3.) Leave match and take the DC penalties

    Exactly!!!

This is a large part of why I bring Blood Warden. If I'm outclassed I'll single out/injure a survivor and down them when the EGC timer is nearing 30%. The emboldened sweat squad will save their teammate the moment I step away.

    Oh no.

Endgame builds are good. I might try one on Freddy. I have one on Trapper and it's a lot of fun and I don't get bullied.

I never said he has to stroke their egos, Versing better survivors makes you better. If eh gives up against any good player how I'd he gonna improve? You tell me.

His options aren't limited he has ######### he can do.

I really don't think there's any more technical expertise I can improve on. I've hit my cap. I rewatch and think through my games and it's basically the same problem: all of the survivors know how to run shacks and there are too many pallets on some of the older maps. If survivors are determined to stay on gens, then the game is sealed in the first two minutes while I'm fooling around with one. A two minute chase at the beginning is reasonable. The second option is to egress chase- but that comes with the fact that I just wasted my time, the survivor will now heal, I need to find a new survivor, and I'm still losing two gens even if I find another one right away. Three if I don't. The opening is hard.

I see no reason why a Killer whipped as soundly as he was should continue except to stroke Survivor ego some more and pad game scores. He clearly can't get them, and they know it.

His options here are pretty limited.

Exactly. There are just unwinnable games. I don't mind that they exist but I wish they could just end as soon as possible. It's not like I'm new to the game. I have a vast array of perks and have been playing for years. But some games they have even better perks and you just know they're on discord.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/214817/survivors-waiting-in-the-endgame

It's not when a killer gives up instead of playing. Heres what you do. Play trapper learn how to mindgame and how to become a sweaty killer and then go back to freddy. He carried you against all of those trash survivors who dont know he can be pre throws hard against.

I've played Trapper and Ghostie extensively to learn the mindgames. After playing those two, I don't think there's anything more I have to learn. I've already looked up videos and practiced running every tileset in the game, which is even better now that many of the god loops have been removed. However, playing normal games during the day is nothing like playing after 10.

or the people who sit on the hatch with a key for 9 hours. Just earlier had someone do that. I just hatch, then patrol doors, then I remember they have a key. Halfway through the EGC I check the hatch and sure enough she's just sitting there. Why do people do this? Seriously. Dick move

It's a raging dick move. It's not enough they just humiliate us they make us watch as they do it. I hate it and I dislike them. They're jerks.

  • Honestly the game needs an advanced mode and a basic mode. Divides are too massive at present. New players get crushed and vets slay killers and humiliate them into quitting. It's a total role reversal at that level of play. Vets should have a different mode that includes additional tasks. Gathering oil or tools for the generators for one would allot an additional time that is crucial. Just having each player have to pre-hunt at the beginning of the game would take the edge off of gen rushing. I'm not sure what else to do for this game mode. The shack is a little outdated at this point as well- every single survivor seems to know how to run it so every map that includes it as a centerpiece is hugely survivor sided. They should be made into something like Dead Dawg with a breakable door.

  • @BattleCast said:

Both sides have toxic people. Neither side is better or worse they’re all just bad.

Can't disagree more. I notice even if I'm going against a try-hard killer they're very rarely mean in the after game chat. That's not at all true for survivors. They'll crap talk until the chat times out if they technically won and didn't like it, is what I'm discovering. There have been periods were it's worse than others, but because we have so many veterans I think they're just used to getting their way and being rude to people. I really don't like it when I'm on the same team as other survivors and they start crap talking the killer when we had a great game and I'm feeling good about it (this is usually because the killer tried to camp their last chance at taking out a survivor- a completely reasonable thing to do).

There are plenty of nice survivors too, but the rate is far lower as a proportion of the whole. I do like that most survivors now will communicate something to a killer. I notice when they want peace they rapidly crouch in place or point at me now instead of just pooping in the chat afterwards. Saves us both feeling bad about things.

I'm not sure there's much to explain.

People lose => People get salty.

It's been like this since forever in every kind of competition.

Videogames only exacerbate the issue because it's easy to talk smack behind a screen.

So it sounds like most people in this thread would agree that one kill is not a win for killer, but three kills is a win. I'll take that.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

Generally, if a survivor doesn't escape, on their mind there are 4 excuses:

    My team sucked

    The killer got lucky

    The killer camped/sugged/tunneled/used op perks/add-ons

Killer sided map gg devs fix your game

In this scenario, the survivor side belied theyre gods and thought that you just got lucky.

On the second scenario, the swf realised that both you and they are mortals, so even tho you lost they kept their sportsmanship. I do believe that even if they 4man escape, the swf would shitalk.

But that's simply my opinion on the matter.

"I do believe that even if they 4man escape, the swf would shitalk."

I believe this could be true. People are just going to act the same way either way. I notice a lot of times when I try to be nice they're intent on what their original thought was anyways.

I'll stop it for you if you prefer people not address you that way of course; you don't get to dictate mine, or any body else's speech however. It doesn't work that way.

Anyways, as I said, you're looking for something far beyond what's going on. You won't get blood from a stone. Nothing in your scenario has anything to do with any of that, or fairness, or balance or anything- it's purely behavioural and nothing more.

Heh, you're one of those guys that does all that aren't you? Be honest.

  • So the Bubba wants to remove BT? The one killer known for face camping and multi-killing off of hook.

    Predictable.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

What do you mean mindset? They are trying to tilt you.

That's it, that's the extent of it. A mix of creating self aggrandizing false statements and general obnoxious phrases that are passive aggressive enough that they cannot be reported; solely to upset or bother you because they lost the match or are just bitter people in general.

That's it, that's all there is to unravel there. I don't know what you're expecting for an answer here you probably already knew that; did you want like, approval or something? Idk what to tell you my dude, some people are just going to be like that, especially online with anonymity.

Insight into what constitutes fair. They thought I was bad because I was taking too long on loops and used a mori(even though they're nerfed now), I think they're not so great because a SWF with OoO is about the best situation you could hope for. I mean it's almost cheating. If someone said they had a cheat that could see the killer through walls at all times you'd say that's BS, but we call that OoO and it's supposedly an even match. I just don't buy into that either.

    "my dude"

Please stop this trend. It's gotta go.

Survivors if you are looping around a hooked survivor, if you go down don't go under the hooked survivor.

It is getting old and you guys are forcing the killer to camp because you don't want to be hooked.

If you are going to crawl under the hooked survivor don't complain to the killer that they are camping.

    Please and thank you.

I've had this happen so many times today. Then they wonder why they're slugged all match.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

The fact that you're making this post shows you've given them exactly what they want

    to get under your skin

Yeah I guess it did. I thought I did really good, and they did really good too but I don't think surprising when they have communications on the whole team and can see me at all times.

  • @Heartbound said:

I got the latter after I shattered a green rank lobby right after reset (I'm a red rank killer). I was sort of on autopilot and I assumed they were going to be sweaty and I consistently had 2 people hooked at a time that round.

I think the reality of survivor vs. killer hasn't set in for them and you know when you're a new killer you want to be nice and play by the survivor's rulebook. (Says the guy who is very, very capricious I know lol).

They volunteered to be a killer's dog toy and are shocked when they get torn up by an experienced doggo. Why did the doggo bite me I don't understand. Right friends? Yes yes.

The only correct thing to do is press on them harder until they understand they need to escape the trial. Not derp around because they have friends in the game with them.

That's what gets me about both teams: they were both red ranked except for one guy on the second team.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

SWF is overpowered to the point that they expect to win every game and when they lose they think you cheated them then complain to no end.

Its simply people feeling entitled to win due to bad balance.

    @TrialByFire476 said:

In the second scenario, they were just mad that you killed most of them. They recognized that they lost and to make themselves feel better, they tried to put you down. Don't let it get to you.

I feel like it's not really a loss though. I mean one at least got away, and I did use a mori so it wasn't like it was for nothing. But that thing about them expecting to always win makes sense. I don't know how killers normally 4k against OoO teams.

  • Getting crushed by obviously bad survivors just because I want to try something new. The after game chat was "What's wrong little buddy" and bullshit like that.

  • Honestly we need to see a thorough buffing of a fifth of the killer perks before we see reworks on survivor perks, aside from maybe DS.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/213777/how-would-you-guys-make-dbd-scarier

Stealth for me is the most boring thing about DBD. I personally think the killers that have that OH CRAP factor such as Billy and Oni are the most fun to go against. Ghostface is the most boring killer to go against for me. He's the Blendette of killers - relies entirely on stealth and they're usually bad at the game.

It's not that they're bad, it's that Ghostie is a universally slow killer. In order to make an approach you have to go the long way every single time or just never use your power, and when his power is active it's nearly useless because there's a delay on breaking you out of it even if you get behind cover. He's often rated at B tier but I'd put him at D against good survivors.

  • @Pirscher said:

Yeah more horror would be good. My ideas:

    - add some areas to maps which appear darker

    - make maps in general a bit darker

    - make the killer TRs smaller

    - remove the red stain from killers

    - make all footsteps louder

    - add more disturbing background art like the cow tree/expand on it

    - add interactive environments with jump scares

    - add other creatures to maps alongside the crows like toads, snakes, and spiders - maybe they also do a jump scare

    - bring back the red light bulb from the original killer shack 2016!

    - make the maps bloodier

The first suggestion, making the maps darker, is a leading complaint for new map reworks such as Autohaven. Removing the killers redstain is a must. It made sense when people were all new, but going against vets it's a horrible crutch for killer.

  • @scenekiller said:

You're all the boring ones for complaining about the same things every other minute. This goes for both sides.

No it doesn't. It's an extremely predictable combo.

  • The game is exceedingly balanced over all, but the SWF and random lobbies are what's causing the sheer divide in individual cases. Even duos are far more potent than just full random parties.

DS is only a problem if you tunnel in the first place, so this comment implies something interesting about how you play.

It's really not. For example, just last week I had an endgame last five minutes extra because I couldn't pick any of them up. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAD DS and I already had to eat one because they all got dropped so quickly. I basically just had to let two of them get up each time I downed them, twice, because I risked letting them get away. DS punishes good killers. It's also a pain in the ass when the gens are done and there's someone hooked but you know the gates will be opened and you can't do ######### about it so you just watch them teabag you because the game has a built in ######### you.

So much more that I admire.

DS is poison. There's literally no reason it should last 60 seconds. Actually, it should only be available once per game like it was originally.
