This feature doesn't sound all that great in my opinion. I only get so much play time, and a lot of that play time for me is once the kids are asleep or while I'm working an on call shift.
All this would mean is that I've gotta manually end the program rather than using the in game UI to leave when they wake up or when I get work, which seems like a lil bit of a pain.
I'd rather see a positive system that rewards you for consecutive lobbies that you join and get a game in without leaving, more like a positive reinforcement type thing rewarding increased BP gain or mystery box rewards or some such.
I'd probably even stick around through SWF hell if it was actually worth my time as far as game advancement went.
Just my 2 cents.

Really in that post they do list a white list and a blacklist.
From that post:
Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us. We are not banning for the use of communication apps. This means just what it says. Is it a program you are using to gain an advantage? Is it something other than a communication App? If yes, technically a violation.
I stopped my complaining once I read this.
While I do think it SHOULD be against the rules, they'd have no way to police it. And won't be doing anything to stop it.
-
Well, I had thought that too, but they added a section that specifically called out that they were allowing communications channels such as Discord
Anyways, I really wasn't trying to bring that back up, my bad. I just wanted to try and find people. I've moved over and posted in the Survivor forums, might be more appropriate.
-
Actually, I missed the bit in the rules about whitelisting Voice chat channels. I stated above that it was fair enough, not trying to play the victim. Not asking anyone to change anything else.
I just said I changed MY outlook and tactics and Im looking for a way to enjoy the game. No need to be hostile.

Are you M. Night Shyamalan?

-
Anytime I've played survivor its pretty well accepted to wave your arms by halfway doing the unhook animation, thus signalling every other survivor that you're being camped.
camping is boring, but so is playing against coordinated SWF groups.
IF I decide to camp, its usually cause the person has been ruining the fun of the game for me, and I want to return the favor. I care little about points.
The rest of the time, I'll just drop early. Not worth wasting my time in the match when its a cheese filled SWF team.
-
There is a perk to show you when the killer is camping. Drop your DS and use it.
Sometimes you really want to get rid of a super annoying player who was also playing like an asshat. It happens. For me, its usually whoever has Decisive Strike.
No, don't make the progress bar stop if killer is near, because tryhard survivors always rush the hook, and would just do that to keep you near it.
Why should we have to run really far away and give you a freebie unhook? Play the game, earn it.
Currently balance in the game needs to be set as if all 4 players were coordinated and on voice chat at all times, until they give us a "Join Solo Queue" option that lets us only play against non SWF groups.
If I have to put up with bully BS from 4 man SWF groups, sorry, you've gotta put up with my assumptions that you're likely part of a SWF group, otherwise its not fun for me, and I won't play.
I get that 4/5 players are survivors, but that doesn't mean the killer has to clench up and grab his/her ankles every time just cause you don't know enough to do a gen while someones camping.
-
Definitely a step in the right direction of making the game actually fun vs a SWF group.
Now, just tag them in Lobby so I don't have to join games with them please!
-
@Timo425 said:
The UI should show which survivors joined together, also the killer should be given some incentive to not just lobby dodge them, like extra BP or something. You are correct. I'd be happy with either solution. At this point I just drop from the game once its become clear they're a SWF group. I don't care about offerings or addons that much, and the meager amount of BP from a match isn't worth the bother of an unbalanced match.
If I got a lot more BP, say a multiplier for each member joined in SWF, like X2 x3 or x4, etc, I'd stick around.
-
I like the idea because I play as you do, I'm better with some killers than others, some killers i have leveled up and unlocked stuff on, others I haven't. I"m not rank 1 anywhere, but I think I'd get better balance out of it if this was a thing.
-
Is this.... Actually... A survivor complaining about a mechanic?
Are you trolling? Its ridiculously easy for survivors to escape. Killers miss pallets if you're anywhere near pulling it down, and there is no way we can hit you across a pallet, except maybe throwing hatchets from Huntress.
Not only that, we get vacuumed into the pallet so you can stun us, and have to sit there in the break animation long enough for you to blind us and hide again.
If anything, Pallets should be less available, and break faster by default. Then we might come somewhere close to being in the general vicinity of the survivors not having the game on super duper easy mode.
-
SWF breaks the game, we all know it. Its just one of those things killers have to deal with because there's 4 survivors to every killer in this game, and no one gives a crap.
Sadly, as a killer all you can do is try to watch for common naming, or groups that spawn in at the same time and Lobby dodge them, or deal with unbalanced gameplay in the hopes that they slip up and you get a kill or two.

The only issue I foresee is if you're chasing a SWF and you see that two of the others are on a Gen, thus you abandon chase and rush to interrupt those peeps instead. The notion you could argue is that they might only be on that Gen cause they know you're chasing their friend, but it still affects the game in a way that is very unintended. It would also somewhat invalidate certain perks and Killers as you wouldn't need to track people as efficiently at all, you'd be able to tell where at least two people are so long as you're in a chase with one of them. So while a fair idea, one that does make sense given that the SWF's know where you are at all times since they've got a friend telling them via voice, it still can break the game in unintended ways.I say this as a Killer main who more often than not has very toxic experiences from SWF's, which is quite inane when they're pretty much set to win with their enormous advantage yet feel that calling me hateful things and t-bagging at every opportunity is the most fulfilling experience. Sometimes I fear for humanity if these people are the norm...
I think I mostly agree with the outcome of what you're saying it does, but I don't think it breaks the game, I think it changes the game. It removes some of the advantage that SWF players have and makes it a bit more balanced for the killer.
Our job as a killer is to apply pressure to the survivors, and create a tense environment to make the game fun for both sides.
SWF groups already invalidate a lot of killers and perks which rely on mind games or stealth. Take Insidious, you can hook someone, hide behind a corner, get rid of the heartbeat, and ambush an altruistic Survivor. I know Survivors don't like camping, but I don't consider that Camping, I think thats more Mind games. SWF groups negate that tactic, as their buddy is just on mic letting them Know I'm there.
Its not great, but its one of the only ideas I had other than putting SWF in their own queue, which people always say won't happen cause no one would chose to play against them.
My feelings, is that if they're broken enough that no one wants to play against them, why are they making us play against them?

Thanks, A few hours on here and no one hating on it, maybe the Devs will actually listen.

The animation of the sacrifice has to finish before the hatch opens.I just think if I'm downed and the other survivor is hooked, the hatch should just open. I've had the same issue happen a dozen times when a killer slugs me, goes for my teammate, I crawl halfway across the map then die on the hatch from the killer coming back after hooking with that 5 second window, or just dying from bleedout timer. That or just give me an option to die so I'm not giving the killer extra points for just making me wait a minute to die.
Edit: Also why does the death animation have to be so long, killers have a boosted hook time and hook vacuum so they have 2-3 seconds shaved off while survivors still have to wait for a long animation to just leave and find another game. I really don't understand why it seems intentionally prolonged.
Because its already way too easy for survivors to escape. There are several ways for you to get out, not be downed, recover yourself, escape being carried for free, heal yourself, find items to do all of the above, complete gens faster, instant heal, and more!
I don't think giving the killer a whole 5 seconds to prevent your free escape is broken.
Hey, I know, lets give the Killer a free one hit auto kill when the gates open without needing a perk. Sound fair to you?
-
Yeah, body blocking is a serious pain. Its just annoying, and doesn't really fit the theme of the game IMO.
If I get into a game and get a 3 person body block on my first hook attempt, I usually just drop. I don't care about rank, so its much more time efficient for me to try and get into a game with less asshattery.
-
I think that as a killer, when you are in a chase with one SWF member, the auras of all other players in that group should be revealed. That seems fair.
-
Also, You don't use the mouse to wiggle on PC, Its A + D on your keyboard, at least by default.
-
An easy fix would be to give the last Survivor Partial Struggle points, much in the way a DC gives killers a portion of the points as if they had sacrificed someone, Thus making it so you'd rather escape or be not the last hook for points, but giving the final person some partial boost as if they had struggled a bit.
In no version of this do I want normal struggle on last hook back.
-
Cause you'll just be face camped anyways and then die. I'd be ok with giving them points equal to the struggle, but it'd just be boring to have to sit and wait for your death to move onto the next round.
-
If you're 1 on 1 vs a killer, you should be Dead on hook. Its an Asymmetrical game.
-
Had a group of Victims all end up on hooks last night playing Myers, as I had the evil within daily. Made sure I cleared the hook straight away after hooking, at least 2 hooked everyone, (One dude killed himself on the hook). Even let them harvest event nodes.
Got screamed at in end game chat for being cheap cause I downed them in one shot using evil within 3. Didn't even tombstone.
This is our victim culture at its finest, but I don't really mind. They are victims after all.
I had fun playing with my food.

Its right there, in the Lobby:
They're our victims. They are our Prey. We should treat them as such.
And killer’s are trying to kill us. We should treat them as nothing’s who want us killed. Do whatever it takes no matter how they feel. They shouldn’t take it personally, they’re psychopathic killers
Exactly! If you're going to earn the title of Survivor, You need to outwit, outplay, and outlast. Thats how it goes right?
-

-
Feedback so far: I Congratulated the lone survivor in my last match and told him he had rightfully earned the title.
The 3 victims reacted as expected, hatefully yelling and attempting to avenge their own deaths through harsh words.
Good.... good... let the hate flow through me. It gives me strength.
More victims later today!

No counter play?
I hadn't heard they'd removed Botany, We'll make it, self care, Insta Heals, Med kits and med kit addons, and coop healing actions from that game?
HOW DARE THEY!?!?!?!?!
-
This is also an Asymmetric game though. 4 survivors, 1 killer.
If the Killer camps a survivor, go do Gens. Open the doors, and escape. He gets his one kill and probably de-pips in the end.
Every lobby I join as Survivor, I make sure everyone knows to signal if they get camped, and if there is a signal, go do Gens. If works. Camping gets one kill against a decent group.
-
Seriously? Survivors need to escape? Killers need to Sacrifice Survivors. If the gates are opened, and noone is on the hook, thats just the killer giving up.
You actually believe as a killer they should give up and just let you escape instead of taking the points from the kill?
-
The survivors already have well enough going for them that we don't need to remove Crows.
You could also run no mither or Unbreakable if you don't wanna be stuck on the ground, using your own "There's a perk for that" argument.
-
I only camp for a few reasons. One of which, I don't even consider Camping.
- Gates are open and I need to secure a Kill. I think most people consider that while Gates are open, this is fair play.
- SWF group are being Trolls. If they try to ruin my game, I'll do everything I can to make it not fun for them.
- They're hook blocking, or standing there waiting to unhook while I'm at the Hook. If I KNOW you're right there on the hook, it would be stupid NOT to kill you. Be smart, use stealth, give me five god damned seconds to move away.... something.
-
I can make them lose their stuff by DCing?
AWESOME!!!!
Will now use this if players are playing in SWF groups or acting like A-holes in general.
Finally, a way to strike back!
-
Been playing about 2 months now.
Have maybe seen one bug?
Yet probably about 8 out of 10 matches I have an issue with Troll survivors or DC's when I'm doing well.
I think their focus is just fine personally.
-
I'd just like to see a solution.
Reading the forums, its pretty clear a lot of people have this issue, its no fun being bullied by a SWF group.
Rather than suck it up and deal with it, it'd be nice if this was addressed.
-
I posted an idea yesterday.
SWF players will always share the killers location on voice when found.
Make it so anyone in SWF groups has aura revealed map wide as long as the killer can see one of their group.
Or just make bot killers for SWF groups to play against.
-
I try to do that, but sometimes I'm not watching, or theres a bit of latency, and I miss it.
Agreed, not sure why we still have a game mode that isn't fun to play against.
Maybe make Bot killers for the SWF to play against. They like easy mode, right?
-
Terrible, if they did this they'd also put ones in for the survivors to complete all gens, and if you make it so the survivors have to do all gens, the killer can just camp the last gen.
It'd be a camping slugfest.
-
Maybe make it so you can't escape for 10 seconds if you're downed right on the hatch too.
-
Give the exposed debuff if the anyone is standing withing so many meters of the hatch for more than 20 seconds after opening.
If the killer camps the hatch for 20 seconds, exit gates open.
There you go.
-
If the killer camps the hatch, or the chest, do gens. Make the hatch so that it doesn't spawn within X range of Gens.

I just get sick of being at rank 6 and getting nothing but swf matches. Since i can't rank reset and don't feel like making a 2nd account for fun games. There isn't a perkless mode out there either yet. I just think swf should be grouped by campfire closer together. Cause im at the point of asking people if there swf and if get no response don't ready up and leave. I don't like being teabagged as killer cause very unimmersive. I would even put on a pointless perk to stop crouching while in a chase. Insidious facecamping could work but that playstyle makes me sick. Swf just really make me hate this game i love.I just have no solution i would like out there. How do you deal personally with swf?
so you can just run away from every lobby with one and make it to where playing with friends isnt fun? sure this can be added when we can see the killer, killer add-ons, and the killers offering.
Seems legit to me, Playing against SWF usually isn't fun for a killer. We should just go in and take the pounding from your group and have a crap time of it so you can play on easy mode? Not really. I'll continue to dodge SWF until some kind of balance comes into the mix.
To be clear, I'd rather see balance. I'd love it SWF games could be fun for both sides. As it is right now, once in a long while I'll find a non Toxic SWF who plays decently, but most of the time its people just looking to stomp the killer and have an easy mode game. And half the time they'll open the exits and waste time as long as They can until I chase them out or they jump in the hatch.
Not fun at all. So I dodge.
-
Nice meme, but if you actually read it, My request was to remove the map offerings. Couldn't care less about what happens in Kill your friends, it was an afterthought.
Nice troll attempt though.
-
Are you suggesting that the maps are balanced as they are and that these maps don't offer survivors serious advantage?
-
Thanks, haven't done it that often yet.
-
Yeah, I wish it was just once in awhile, but I think I've played 6 games tonight, 5 were coldwind farm with mists, and I get accused of camping when theres 3 of them underneath me trying to block the hook.
I know the devs can't program in making Survivors not be #########, but I'd like to see something to mitigate it constantly being that map. If the Survivors think that map is THAT much easier to win than others, maybe it needs a change.
Personally I'd be happy to never play on it again.
-
Really? I only started playing about a month ago and I've never had to wait more than like 5 minutes, at longest. Most matches are almost instant. I'm usually on between 8 and 11 pacific time though, maybe thats prime time.
-
I haven't been playing that long, for sure, but it is completely cheap. Sure, they lose BP for doing it, but they're also cheating the killer out of a Hook.
Yes, I use the word cheating intentionally. There are mechanics built into the game to win.
You can use a perk, the other survivor could escape and come heal you after you recover, The other survivor could get hooked and kill themselves attempting to escape, (Or 4% of the time actually escape), and come heal you. You could use DS after getting picked up, you can wiggle free.
Survivors have tons of options to get back up and keep going when downed. Its the killers job to try and kill all four survivors.
You can think its justifiable cheating if you want to, but lets not pretend its intended gameplay mechanics.
-
Longer Gen completion time, shorter hook rescue timers, harder skill checks, better aura reading for the killer, Longer exit gate timer, and maybe a timer after the gates are open where as if you don't escape fast enough the killer can see you.
Not necessarily all of the above, those are just a few ideas that could make things a little more even for the killer vs a SWF group, as they tend to coordinate much better via the use of third party programs. (Such as Discord).

I'd rather see the game have two separate queues for killers, to go against SWF or not, with different game balance points for the two. Make the killers more powerful in SWF so that it was somewhat of a more even playing field.
Yeah that definitely wouldn't make the game more trash and longer to find a match. Great idea
I do think its a good idea, I also don't care if SWF groups take longer to find a match. I'd rather wait longer for a good match than quickly get into a crappy one.
It would probably actually make the game somewhat challenging for SWF groups, which would probably make them angry.
I'm fine with that.
Lol so your idea stems from being angry at SWF groups. Pathetic
Whats pathetic is that you think I care about your opinion. I posted my thoughts and feedback, but other than try to attack me personally you've provided nothing useful to the discussion. Go back to basement time.
